Absolutely scrumptious food.!!! Been in the UK for around three years, and this was the best chicken biryani I ate. Amazing service and loved the ambience. Would definitely visit again. ✨️ Ordered food - hariyali chicken tikka, seekh kebab, nihari, special chicken handi, rumali roti, laccha paratha and chicken biryani!!

Visited this resturant for a birthday celebration with a party of 13 people. The initial service was slow with no one coming to ask for drinks etc until prompted but the food came out quite quickly. The non veg dishes were all delicious and the veg dishes were cooked to a good standard. Had to ask several times for the waiters to clear the table from used dishes etc before bringing out our fancy birthday cake. That part was frustrating but overall we had a nice time and might visit again for the non veg good variety

Delicious food, ambience was great and hospitality and service is superb. Must try and a go to restaurant for the people who love Indian food.

Overall we were really happy with the food and delivery service, but it would be helpful if you could give an indication of how late the delivery will be in the text message notification that is sent.

Love this restaurant, excellent food especially their classics - butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The ambience is very good, soft Bollywood music played in the background. Very good appetizers as well, I’d recommend the samosa chaat and chili paneer. Competent service always and good seating.

I always tend to end up doing occasional parties at tipu Sultan , it's well decorated and the food is amazing.

We were delighted to dine in Tipu Sultan at Oadby (Leicester). The gourmet was delicious and served gracefully by Samia (the waitress). The chef Talib Hussain had done a great job by preparing the dishes to our tastes. A most enjoyable experience at a restaurant worthy of its reputation and name. Nice restaurant and food is decent, but be warned it appears only “selected” members are allowed to park in the car park even though there are spaces you will be told by the obnoxious car park attendant to park elsewhere?l!!

We had a lovely time dining at Tipusultan. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. From appetizers to desserts, every bite was a treat. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service we received from Samiya. She was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed and going out of her way to ensure our experience was perfect. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and well cared for. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to Samiya and the rest of the staff for making our visit so enjoyable!

We visited today as a family of 12 with 2 young children’s upon arriving we asked for a menu and had to wait 10 minutes for it to get to us. The retseraunt was almost empty with several waiters stood around the till area in huddles. We ordered starters and our mains - first came the starters, which came out lukewarm and then came the real tragedy of the evening TWO HOURS AFTER THIS and seeing several tables come, eat and leave- no signs of our mains. We asked a waiter several times who just said “il check” but never did. Upon my husband being stern and explaining it’s been two hours they then reluctantly brought out- STONE COLD curry’s- and I mean COLD the oil on the top had a film over it! It had been sat for that long, we told the waiter who said- ok. And continued putting the cold food onto the table! This is now 2.5hrs from your arrival 12 of us. We called the manager who blamed the man who makes the naans (sir we didn’t even get to the naans so don’t try that) and did very little to fix the issue- simply said to wait and he will reheat the frozen curry’s!!! Needless to say we did not wait and left. 0 STARS IF IT WAS POSSIBLE THIS PLACE IS A CATASTROPHE!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Dishes that were not marked as spicy on the menu were very spicy. It's disappointing when you order butter chicken for the kids, and they can't eat it. Quality of food is good, the portions were normal...

Went twice there to have dinner. Staters served alongwith main course, even asked to deliver early before main course. Planning to have dinner after 9pm is not the right choice. No offering of normal water even. Paneer Tikka, Grill Veg is not even worth trying it, though Dal Makhni and Paneer with Mushroom was good.

Amazing place to dine out in, unfortunately the food didn't match the ambience and place. Value was good but lacking in quality. Wauw factor of the place was missing in the food.

Came here as a group of 12. I have an allergy to chilli which I made clear and had over a five minute discussion about. They then bought over complementary poppadoms just for me and the three people sat next to me whilst everyone else had to pay. My mint yoghurt was the only one that had chilli in and when my curry was bought out it contained chilli (which I was told it wouldn't). Told them about it and they said there's nothing we can do. Because of this and only my mint yoghurt having chilli in it I think they did it on purpose to set of my allergies. If you have allergies avoid this place not only will they ignore it but they added that ingredient into my food unnecessarily.

****not recommend for wedding reception *** They will charge you £30+ per person for A slow and 3rd class service . They will give you under quality food (too many onions a tomatoes lurking around in curry ) They will not give you refills . If an item finishes they will blame the guests that they have over eaten or drank the full cup of tea- instead of half or quarter . 3/10 service . Just a waste of time . Duty manager was rude , arrogant as if he is doing us a favour . Better options available .

Food is very nice, we were the only 4 people in the restaurant as we went at 12pm when they open. Air con inside which was lovely as it was a very hot day. Service also very good.

The restaurant looks lovely. The building is stunning. Plenty of free parking around. Staff were very friendly. Food was nice only thing I found it a bit too spicy this time. Even the pillau rice and butter chicken was spicy for the kids. Apart from the food choice I loved x

I went today second time food was amazing as usual but customer service was too cold i went alone and they didn’t treat me well i have to call them again n again to remind them that they didn’t gave things. Earlier i came with friends those staff was best but today was so dissatisfied. And after food i waited for 20mins to just get bill done and no staff was around or checking on customer. Overall taste is best just need to get customer service done well and should know how to treat and greet people, they should be attentive with customer.

Delicious foods, amazing atmosphere, good and fast service. Place is very clean and well maintained. Reasonable prices, just look at their portions, they are huge. So far best Indian food that I tasted. Went there two days back to back .

Beautiful entrance, friendly staff the ones I met anyway, and the food was really good. , my only reason for knocking down a star is because I requested a different table due to there being a massive family sitting nearby & waiter said he was unable to allocate another table, restaurant was not busy and there was plenty of other tables which I understand they want everyone in one specific place but it is really not that difficult to have allowed us a table 2 meters away from where we were sitting. In the Birmingham branch they do allow you to choose seating when it is not busy so I know that it is not a specific rule of the restaurant. I just feel that it is okay to make such a small accommodation for customers when they are paying a lot of money for the food etc.

It was my first visit to Tipu Sultan in Leicester, and it was a great experience. The staff were great, friendly, welcoming, and provided a great service. The find was brilliant, and portions were just right. Definitely visit again when I'm back in Leicester.

Ordered through uber eats just an hour ago. Wow! The food was fantastic!! 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾. Well seasoned, still hot, fresh, well presented in the delivery box. I'm so full right now. The rasmalai did the trick it was perfect and a good portion. but I should have ordered 2 or 3..i want more

Went this place after long time, all has been changed. Unexperienced staff all seem to be working student visa waiters. Food standards gone down. It was quite for Saturday night. We had keema naan was raw and filled with ginger had to return it was raw. Had fish pakora normally comes as a cod cubes but this time was all flat broken before pick up with knife good knows what fish it was. We feel been rushed food was here before we even halfway finish papadoms after we ask to wait 10min as that will give time to finish papadom. Waitres Marched in and told us we should've told this before we ordered food now food ready we won't take it back in kitchen. No entry wet towel what use to be. Robotic staff. I don't mind paying for high price food if service comes with smiles and quality food. Sort your service and food or you will loose very soon as day by day customer getting lesser.

Funny story…. We were a small group. We arrived at the restaurant at about 6pm, nice and early. So the atmosphere was very tranquil and nice. Received a jug of cola without ice. It was flat hence just tasted like sweet cola juice! You could see no sign of any bubbles. We informed the waiter and I could see his manager tasting the cola in the distance, moments later. As he did that I could visually see his lips dropping at either side as he took each sip; obvious that he too found it flat and very sweet. …. Yet, no surprise they reported to us that the cola was fine. Few minutes later, another jug arrived. With lots of ice this time. Yet much more fizzy, and completely different to the first. My point is, we live in a world where the answer to everything is always “No”. Even when it shouldn’t be. If we received an empty jug, would they find a way to justify it (!). If we received fizzy orange instead of cola would they find a way to justify that (!). C’mon guys, people pay around and over £100 for a meal (and that’s just very small groups). That’s no small change! Heaven forbid “the customer is always right” - this concept is non-existent these days. But please train your staff to have a little dignity and service customers needs a little better. More honestly! The food was absolutely excellent! Top quality! Looking forward to going again; but this time will order another drink in order to avoid disappointment; maybe something in a can!

Deloius food . Excellent service given to us by Subhan Tariq. He made our dinning experience even more enjoyable. Would like to suggest to the management to please Play pakistani music instead of Indian filmy song. The music played does not go with the eligant atmosphere.

1.Prebooked table, No parking at all.had to park outside somewhere Found parking cordinator is rude. .we had to wait for 30 minutes to find table.. If you can not reserve table , stop taking prebooking 2.short staff? Had to find who can take order and serve 3. Food overrated quality Might be some love food here, but believe me its overrated.. 4.Quantity. 2 piece of kabab in the Plate for Starters.. Joke? 5 ambience Noisy overcrowded.. Might not return in future will seek other options for any occasions.

Finally managed to visit Tipu Sultan. It was a busy evening and the service reflected this. We had to stand get their attention initially. The food was a mixture, the mushroom paneer curry was nice but salty. Not too keen on their butter chicken at all! Chops for starters were tasty as was the spinach chicken although it looked very green! Lassi was tasty.

One of the best for pakistani cuisine you can find in Leicester. We wanted to dine in during our 2 months stay in Leicester but could not spare time for that. So got it delivered. Highly recommended for Pakistanis, Indians or anyone who enjoy spicy food.

Avoid! Terrible customer service from waitresses who stand there talking about you and intimidating. Coke spilt around us and they didn’t even bother cleaning our table or floor around us properly. My self being in restaurant business for last 40 years staff needs to be trained properly 2 people were looking after the our side of the restaurant asked for glass of water for 4 times then waiter brought the water when the food came they just put the dishes on the table not asking who is having which dish,then they missed chicken spinach which came when other people had finish the meal.

I wish they’d stop putting tree-bark sized pieces of aniseed in their curries. 🤨

If I could give it a 0 I would. It used to be my favourite restaurant but recently been a multiple of times where food has taken over an hour and a half to come out, waiters have been rude and then suddenly card machine breaks, but then works again when we don’t have enough cash. Wrong food being sent out on more than one occasion Blames being busy, then improve! Literally didn’t even eat the mains and had to leave.

Food was quite salty. They don't serve coffee even though it is on he sweet menu.

I explained that I wasn’t from Leicester and since this was my nikkah I wanted everything as perfect as possible. I was promised everything would go well but this was one heck of a lie. First, when guests arrived there were no complimentary drinks (yes, I did pay for it). Then the food came out 40mins late. When I asked why this was, they said it was because they didn’t know the exact times we were coming (another lie). We were at the mosque praying – I had called beforehand, and my friends turned up 20-25mintues (before everyone else) and told the restaurant to start preparing as the guests would be turning up. As if this wasn’t bad enough there was no cake table when I stressed enough times that I needed one. Again, my friends noticed this when they arrived and asked 3 times until they were finally given one. Now I’ve eaten at Tipus Birmingham and Tipus Nottingham before and their service has been good as well as their food. This was my first time in Tupus Leicester, and my experience has been awful. The food was disgusting – nothing like at the other sites. The desserts were just as bad. I feel very disappointed as this was my wedding day. I had entrusted them and paid a lot of money but in return was humiliated in front of my guests. They ruined my day. I spoke to the manager (Noor) who was rude and heartless. He kept saying nothing was his fault and offered no condolences. I would not recommend Tipu sultan in Leicester to anyone. They are clearly irresponsible enough to cater for special occasions and admit fault/apologize. I paid a lot of money, and they were not worth it all. Save yourself the loss and learn from my mistake. Invest in a company who have values and fear god.

Excellent high end Asian food establishment. Fantastic service, highly recommend. Can accommodate large groups as well.

Overall experience review added for Thursday 29/2/24, service not that great had to keep asking for stuff, food came staggered not all together which meant some of us had food and some of us had to wait a long while especially with our main meal my food came at least 20 minutes later the rice had gone cold by then, two of ended up unwell at night not clear whether the food had been pre cooked and served. Hardly any service until we called or when they came to give food, not good value for money, dissatisfied with a fine dining experience.

Luxurious interiors! Excellent Service! Lip smacking food! We had a great time with family and friends. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and delicious. I love their Hariyali chicken. I found it with the same taste what we had at their Birmingham branch years back. We'll definitely recommend it to everyone. Thanks to your staff, everyone was very helpful ☺️

It was a very special day for me because it was my daughter’s birthday. And I plan to go to Tipu sultan restaurant which is 5 miles from my home. I was very excited to eat here because it was my first visit to Tipu Sultan. I ordered 3 starters which was Fish Pakora, Chilli paneer and Haryali chicken in this starters the chilli paneer was good but other items was not good. In the main course I ordered Nihari which was very - very bad and the taste was very bad. The Nihari was very cold and nans were also not good because they were not soft. The food was not good. My money was wasted and my day was ruined. After returning back to home I was very sad because my day was not good after visiting this restaurant. The atmosphere was good but the food was not good. Now onwards I’ll not visiting this restaurant in my life…
