Lovely coffee and cake as always

Went for food was told no tables as all booked up the next free table wasn't for long time, so would have to sit outside. In the hour and 25 minutes we were there several groups left creating empty tables to which noone then filled. Had to wait around 25 minutes for drinks to arrive and only because the staff were promted to make them. When we left there were still four tables unoccupied which had remained unoccupied for an hour of the time we were sat outside. Food lovely, staff however, are not. IN RESPONSE as you cannot reply to a businesses response. The first member of our family arrived at 11.35.35, the next omes at 11.41am it was not made clear we were to order inside at all so we waited until 11.55/12 to go in and order There were four of us to seat as the baby stayed asleep the whole time we were at the establishment, not five. Orders were placed at 12 05 as per my receipt, drinks did not arrive untill gone 12.25pm, seen as Andy has checked the CCTV I'm sure he can give an exact time if this is a fabrication, regardless of whether it was 15, 20, 25 minutes for four coffees as you said, is a bit of a push, don't you think? There were two tables of two empty from 12 until we left at around 13.05/10 (again I'm sure Andy can check CCTV to confirm this. A further table of four was empty from around 12.30 and remained empty again till we left. There was a final table of two empty but I cannot remember exact times and wouldn't want to be accused of further fabrications or exaggerations. After speaking to many other people who have also been to you several times it seems the team is always unncocommodating and struggle under the pressures of busy times. Ill say it again the food was great but as for yourself and Andys replies I find it appalling that instead of just admitting a poor effort was done you feel the need to continue to be rude to customers old, and new. Looking at past reviews of people who have said similar this customer service is an ongoing issue.

Went for a breakfast burrito at lunch which was fantastic. Worth booking a table as it was busy but the food was amazing as always and the staff were lovely; Beth and Ruth always are. The chips are probably the best chips I’ve ever had and the gingerbread coffee was incredible. The coffee milkshake is remarkable too. Banging food, great prices, lovely staff; an unparalleled gem.

IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY @BETHANY Waited 25 minutes for our drinks which could have certainly taken longer if we didn’t push for them at that point. From working in this industry myself I know it can be hard to plan for walk-ins and bookings when in such a busy cafe however “every time we came in” from when we arrived at 11:35 till leaving at 1:10 there was 3 tables of two (which were next to eachother and could have been pushed together for our table of 4 and baby that would have been on my lap) and a table of 4 in the other room free the whole time. We made a point of asking that if a table comes free inside for us to be moved however no one ever came but you still let non booking customers sit on those free tables even though we had clearly been waiting for them. I also do not want to hear back in your response that these were bookings as I know for a fact they weren’t. Appalled with the service and think you all need to be taught more on how to turn over tables quickly to get more customers. Will certainly not be returning and will be putting in a bad word to family and friends.

Excellent breakfast in a nice informal setting

Andy and his team were so easy to work with for our wedding, and they went above and beyond on the day to make it seamless. We had lasagne, garlic bread and a tomato salad, and several people told us it was the best lasagne they’d had! There were clean plates all round. Highly recommend. Thank you so much Andy and S17!

Food was lovely but there was a really long wait for food and coffee.

The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were all super helpful and friendly.

We hired S17 to cater our wedding. And we were blown away from the very beginning working with Andrew. He listened to what it was we wanted, reassured us how excited he was to create a Mediterranean menu, more than happy to focus on the vegetarian options as we wanted. Super accommodating and friendly all the way through the planning. And then the food. Every single guest we spoke to told us how much they enjoyed the food, how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The staff were super lovely, special shout out to Leanne who checked on me and my husband throughout the dinner service. The ice cream bike for dessert was a massive hit and my only regret is I didn’t have more! And the gyros for the evening food was again amazing. Exactly what we needed at that time of night. A fantastic service, a super friendly and awesome team. Could not recommend more - truly brilliant and we couldn’t be happier.

We used S17 for the catering for our wedding and they were just exceptional! My husband and I both absolutely love cooking and eating out, and so food was always going to be a huge part of our wedding day and something we wanted to be personal and of a really high standard. Andy exceeded our expectations from the get go. Andy was absolutely brilliant from the get go - he was super responsive to queries, and the service felt so personable. We changed a couple of things after our tasting and felt so comfortable that our wedding catering was in such safe hands. I was so excited to sit down for our meal at the wedding because I knew it was going to just be amazing, and we had so many guests coming up to us after to tell us they’ve never ate such good food at a wedding, or been so full after a wedding breakfast! A special shout out to the dauphinoise potatoes which were so so tasty - how they manage to cater for 115 people to this high standard is beyond me. We’re so grateful to Andy and S17 for being such a fantastic part of our wedding day - we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them in the future again!

S17 catered for our wedding and wow - just the best food and service you could hope for. There was so much food, it was all SO tasty and staff were phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you guys for helping us to have the most special day. Our guests couldn't stop saying how delicious the food was and everyone was so well catered for. No one left hungry! Andy and Adam did a great job helping us the day before too, they truly went above and beyond. Great guys, great food, great vibes. Thank you so so much again!

We had the most amazing experience with S17 for our wedding. From the initial booking to the wedding day, Andy was so helpful and professional and nothing was too big of an ask (even when we last minute decided to add on multiple scotch eggs for our evening food - sorry chefs!). We had so many compliments on the food - many people saying it was the best wedding food they’d had. We decided to have a cheese wedding cake, and to use this as our evening food with pork pies, scotch eggs etc. It was presented so nicely and just took the ease out of us having to organise this ourselves. If you are considering them as your caterers - don’t hesitate! Thanks Andy and the team 😊

Lovely food and excellent service

Andy provided catering services for our wedding on 4th May - from first contact the service was incredibly professional, Andy responded quickly to emails and had plenty of ideas/was receptive to ours. In the lead up and on the day he was very calm, unfazed by last minute changes and panics and exactly the sort of person you want to have around for your wedding. The food was INCREDIBLE, we had several guests come up to us afterwards to tell us it was the best food they’d had at weddings. Pretty much everyone told us how the food was ‘spot on’. Andy’s team were also so polite and helpful, the minute I mentioned I was starving at the drinks reception they immediately targeted me with each canapé board! There was also an incredible quantity of food - Andy told us when we booked him that there was always plenty and he was not lying. We were sad we didn’t have Tupperware to bring the leftover food home with us!! I would absolutely not hesitate in using S17 again for any catering needs and will be looking to visit the cafe at the first opportunity.

We couldn't be more delighted with the incredible service provided by S17 for our wedding. Their attention to detail and dedication were evident from the moment the delicious canapés started circulating. A dedicated team member constantly checked in on us to ensure we tasted every delightful bite. The meal that followed was nothing short of spectacular. The pate was exquisite, and the beef, perfectly pink and accompanied by beautifully roasted vegetables, was a true highlight as well as unlimited gravy (my adopted northern husband was thrilled about this). The unique idea of having guests carve their own portions was a hit and added a fun, interactive element that everyone loved. Though we didn't get to try the evening food due to non-stop dancing, we heard rave reviews from our guests about the roast pork sandwiches, which were described as utterly delicious and melted in the mouth. We highly recommend S17 for their professionalism, easy-going nature, and outstanding culinary skills. It was the best mass catering food we've ever tasted, even served in a field! Thank you for making our day unforgettable. We are so sorry we don’t have any photos of the food, the plates were emptied before we could properly digest/process how amazing it was. But please enjoy photos of the outfits accompanying the carvers, safe to say everyone embraced their inner chef!

Fantastic Bistro Evening we had on the 20thApril menu was great, food amazing Sheffield Fish Cake starters delicious,mains Beef Rib with fondant potatoes plus glazed carrots, dessert Mille Feuille just rounded of a lovely evening coffee and sweets Would recommend S17 everytime food and the Bistro Evening check out the up and coming dates and daily menu for breakfast and lunch. I always get a sausage and bacon sandwich, usually on ciabatta and it is hands down the best sandwich anywhere I’ve been in southern Sheffield! The staff are lovely and are quick to make the order especially when calling ahead for a takeaway sandwich. My favourite place to lunch.

We visited S17 for a weekday brunch. It’s a delightful cafe offering a variety of comforting brunch food, cakes and drinks. I was really pleased with the gluten-free options. The corned beef hash (gf) and gluten free carrot cake were superb. The coffee was great too. A brunch for two people cost £25 which was quite reasonable.

Lovely place but can be a bit busy so not great if you don't like too much ambient noise. Fab food and well worth a visit. Staff are really friendly and polite. It is the food that definately makes this place a great place to eat. The prices are realy reasonable and they have a great menu. This is a place that my husband and I like to frequent for breakfast and are not dissapointed.

Just picked up 1 Breakfast Burrito and 2 Veggie Burritos absolutely amazing cooked fresh and still hot when husband got them home 1st time having a Breakfast Burrito but definitely won't be the last filled me up for the day 😋

Just picked up an order from S17 cafe. My wife ordered 2 veggie and a regular breakfast burrito. I was served politely with a smile and the burritos were delicious from the first bite, to the absolute last (seriously) definitely recommend. Thank you S17 team.

I often come to S17 with my partner and it’s always a nice atmosphere and great breakfast! We don’t book but they always manage to squeeze us in. Definitely worth the drive😊

I’ve tried to eat here for years and have been unable to get a table because I typically booked short notice. Today I found out why. The food is incredible, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was exactly what I needed. I’ll plan ahead more often and be back regularly. 👍

Odd level of disdain for dogs - the only coffee shop I’ve been to where you get yelled at by staff saying NO DOGS when you try and order from the door. Dog watching is the best part of coffee shops, so an odd level of service here

Lovely vibrant buzzing atmosphere. Menu was straight to the point with just enough choice and options. There was a good gluten free option. Food was freshly prepared It was easy to get distracted with choice as everything looked tasty. I settled for the eggs Benedict. The eggs were just the right consistency and the sauce was delicious. I also asked for a portion of pancakes to share with others I had gone in with. The pancakes were fluffy and came with crispy bacon and a pot of maple syrup. It would have been nice to have had a separate set of cutlery to use with the pancakes. The mango smoothie was tasty without being too thick. A very pleasurable experience and will definitely go back.

Andy & his crew catered our wedding this year and the food was amazing! We booked him for food and the horsebox bar which was just so cool. All of our guests commented on how brilliant the food was and how helpful and friendly the staff were. They catered for a variety of dietary requirements and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of booking for a wedding :)

Really great place, just mate sure you book as they're very busy.

Attended S17 for a business lunch, the staff were pushy and rude, only allowed the table for 30 minutes and were asked to move exactly 30 minutes later. When saying bye to a colleague who had relocated in the cafe to finish his drink, we were again approached by staff and told that we couldn’t stand there as a diner was eating near by. Overall the experience was unenjoyable, abrupt, the staff were emotionless and extremely unhelpful, we will not be heading back again.

Andy and the wonderful staff at S17 recently catered our second day wedding celebration. The food and service was absolutely incredible, everyone commented on how delicious everything tasted. I would 100% recommend S17 for all your catering needs. Thanks so much.

We frequently visit S17 for Breakfast and haven't yet had a bad experience in terms of food or service! I tend to order Eggs Bennedict everytime I go because it's the best I've had in Sheffield however on my last visit I had a Full English and it was just as nice! I'm a huge Chai Latte fan and other that Costa whenever I have tried Chai Latte at other cafes it's never matched but S17's Chai Latte is delicious! The staff are always friendly, the cafe is clean & tidy. I have been turned away twice due to them being fully booked but I think its expected, they are a popular cafe and I'm not surprised they get booked up quick. Ever since I just make sure to book. I must try their Lunch Menu!

I call for breakfast most days of the week the food is always excellent everything about the place is great 😊 all of the staff are really professional they Carnt do enough for you 👍🏻try it you won’t be disappointed

We was greeted by friendly staff was made to feel welcome, the quality of service and food was exceptional, we got checked on to make sure all was ok never once felt rushed, overall friendly staff good quality food and service are the food and forgot to take pictures as I tucked straight in

We held my dad’s retirement party at S17 in the evening and it was fantastic. The staff were incredibly helpful, the service was great and they went out of their way to cater to dietary requirements. Food is amazing, so delicious and obviously freshly made.

I have been coming to S17 for years. We have had 2 girls in the last 3 years and they have been coming here since they were born. It’s like a 2nd home to them and me and the misses - Beth, Liv and all the team are amazing! We would definitely call them friends. They are so amazing to the girls and the food….. well! Unreal - honestly I would eat here everyday if I could - never once had a bad meal - I religiously come every weekend and always order off the specials - absolute 10/10 every time! I am sheffield born and bread and I can happily recommend s17 as the best in sheffield!!!

After a delicious meal, sadly our experience was ruined due to a very abrupt waitress, who- without any warning- told us to leave immediately because she needed the table back. We didn’t realise that there was a time restriction on tables and were not reminded of this in advance or giving any advance warning on the day, which is usual practice. Eg “just to remind you we need the table back by this time.” Sadly, we won’t be back as when we calmly explained to the waitress how we felt her manner was rather rude, she didn’t demonstrate any regret or really apologise.

Visited with a friend for a business/social meeting. Had 2 coffees and a breakfast. Stayed chatting and then unexpectedly received the bill. We had been there a while but the cafe wasn’t full and we were busy chatting. Paid the bill and decided to have another coffee before we set off home. Asked to order coffees and were refused. Told that we only had the table until that time ( no warning of this ) and couldn’t order another drink as they had bookings in. We could have a take out drink or sit outside ( it was freezing ). On a Wednesday lunchtime it seemed odd they would have bookings ? We sat outside chatting for 30 mins and there was no influx of people. Have never been treated like that anywhere. Definitely would not return or recommend.

S17 are our neighbours. My husband and I have both been quite ill.and spent some time in hospital. When we got got back home, we were too shattered to think about cooking .S17 delivered delicious hot food to our door on more than one occasion. Thank you all.the lovely staff. Three of our party had the corned beef hash. Well what can I say. I have had it before and had no hesitation having it again. Our friends loved it and are going back to S17 soon. Friendly staff , very busy and deservedly so.

Delicious sandwiches and breakfast

Fast and easy service attended with my mum and was kindly greeted by Beth and served by Liz. We wasn’t rushed to find what we wanted and was made clear that everything was correct on what we had ordered. Had regular check ups and felt comfortable throughout our visit!! Good and drinks were delicious and worth the price 😊

Came to Sheffield from Lancashire to visit my family and we booked in at S17 as we’ve been before and really like it. The ladies who were all working on Sunday 11th of December were so lovely and bubbly, greeted us as we came in and just overall really accommodating and welcoming. The place is clearly popular as it was full and non stop busy since we came in, also lots of take out orders which is nice for people who don’t have time to sit and chill. We had a mix of orders from breakfasts, ciabattas and sandwiches - all were delish and it’s really cool to see the open kitchen and the chefs hard at work, adds a bit of quirk to the place. Had our eye on the Christmas melt which I think was Turkey, stuffing, cranberry and Brie but it had sold out just before we ordered, sounded so good though… maybe next year! The place was really nice and clean and having my own coffee shop back home this is something I really appreciate as I know how hard it can be to look after your surroundings when you’re busy, the cafe was really well decorated and had nice cosy lights and cool bits and bobs. Will definitely be booking in for a bite to eat when I next visit. Thank you 😊

My first visit today - an extremely wet day - for a coffee and something hot for breakfast. Was made to feel very welcome and the cafe is clean and cheerful. Very good coffee and a superb sausage and bacon in ciabatta bap. The bap was so generous that I had half of it wrapped yo take out. After an unpleasant motorway journey in lashing rain, I have enjoyed it cold at home. Full of flavour. Lovely cafe and great tasting food. I'll be back. Many thanks to S17

Popped in with my son for some late breakfast. Quality bacon, quality sausage on light fluffy Ciabatta. Cost a fiver and worth every penny.

Mothers day afternoon tea We went on Sunday for the 11am afternoon tea service. Sandwiches was delicious, cakes and scones out of this world but most of all the service was brilliant. Thank you so much for a special treat.
