My second time at the restaurant and seems that I could finally find my favourite sushi place in the UK. Thank you and good luck!

This place is a hidden gem. We went to camber for a short week stay and fancied some sushi. This place doesn't dissappoint! The service is impeccable and puts many other restaurants to shame. The food is authentic and generous. Quite rare to get such quality sushi these days. We liked it so much we got it as takeout the next evening! The unagi rice is absolutely devine!

Adam was kind enough to let us be his guinea pigs for their new Korean BBQ menu/experience and my partner and I couldn't have been more pleased with the gamble we took on it. We agreed to have whatever the chef had prepared for us, with no ideas on price or the menu and we were blown away. Food was superb. Service was great, all of the other food coming out looked so good that we're already planning our next visit to try their regular menu.

Generally, it's OK for the UK, but there are no vegetables at all. The ramen was also a bit under-seasoned. The downside is that the staff brings the appetizers at the same time as the main courses, it would be better to bring them earlier.

Great sushi place with fantastic staff. We ordered the spicy tuna roll and salmon avocado and it was great. The staff were friendly and even ran after us all the way to the station when we had left something behind. I highly recommend this place and would love to return again

Its very confusing to see that place having such a high rating. Quite easy to be tricked if you love sushi. Starting from uncomfortable chairs, dirty toilet, sticky table and ads playing on TV while you are eating and ending with good looking, but itsu-level sushi, we didn’t like anything except green beans. For the same 60-80 pounds for 2 person you can get exceptional dinner at a webbes fish restaurant nearby.

Great place, ideally located and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tables all laid out nicely and Adam was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Menu had a great selection and they do take out too which is really helpful. I’d 100% recommend this place to all far and wide. The quality of the sushi is by far the best I’ve tasted since I went to Japan earlier this year and the service outstanding

Delicious food - great service! Bit pricey maybe, but well worth it. I had spicy beef udon ramen and my wife had grilled eel. Both extremely flavoursome.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff.

My partner and I stopped in here for lunch. Excellent sushi and a nice atmosphere. However, while chatting to the owner and paying our bill, he thought it was appropriate to tell us his views on recently arrived migrants, that they all "get council houses and get on disability benefits". My partner and I were pretty stunned and went quiet out of discomfort. I don't eat out so that I can pay to hear the business owner's xenophobic, racist and ignorant views on immigration. It's a shame, as the food was excellent.

This is the best sushi we’ve had in the UK coming from two Kiwis who are spoilt with quality Japanese cuisine back home. We’ve lived in London for 2 years and haven’t found anywhere that compares to the freshness and tastiness of Rye Sushi. Our waiter was really lovely and made experience great. Don’t miss it!

Such lovely people, and gorgeous food. I loved the vegetarian dumplings, so light and tasty. Highly recommended.even the prawn crackers were so fresh and crisp. We also had the yuzu sparkling saki - sounds crazy but fresh and fun.

As a Japanese, I can say that the food here is the best. Since I started living in this country, I have never encountered a dish that reminds me of my home country.But This restaurant reminds me. If you come to Rye, you will definitely be happy if you come to this restaurant.

What a fabulous restaurant! Absolutely thrilled to find this fantastic Japanese restaurant in Rye. Excellent fresh sushi and maki, perfect prawn gyoza, an excellent seaweed salad, and delicious inari to finish. I've lived and eaten a lot of good food in Japan - Rye Sushi is an absolute delight!

The food was excellent, and the servers were very personable (Adam especially!). Though, as there were only 2 of them, service did take a while. Regardless, it was an enjoyable experience with some delicious food :)

Excellent! We ordered Edamame, Miso Soup and Uramaki Rolls (Crab 🦀, Tuna🐟 & Salmon 🍣) everything was very good. Edamame & Soup were piping hot, lovely. The soup was the tastiest I've had. The presentation of all the dishes was very nice. Service is very friendly. The atmosphere is great in this small, but cozy restaurant. I would recommend making reservations. We will definitely be back!

Adam and his parter serve excellent sushi. It was a really pleasant surprise to find such quality in the corner of the English countryside. We live an hour and a half away but we’ll make the drive next time we want sushi.

I loved atmosphere the true music not from radio, very nice around cosy and great staff. Service was kind and helpful, the only one minus is a bit expensive but still very recommended because taste is great.

Recently only discovered this place and Iv already returned 3 times and had 3 orders to take out. Only the freshest ingredients used, top class presentation, wonderful atmosphere with excellent customer service. Will adjust dishes to preference without any fuss. I absolutely love this little gem in Rye and enjoy popping in for a snack and tea after work. The atmosphere is lovely and the service very friendly. There's always somebody to talk to and the food is by far one of the best options in the town. It's like stepping into a different world.

Service was great, and menu was a little pricey, but fair for the area and the fact that it's the only sushi restaurant. The food was alright, however, it wasn't amazing. If you've only had sushi at a chain or at Yo sushi, it would be ok, but there are many better and more authentic places to go in the surrounding areas.

Surprised how great the Sushi and sashimi was after 16 years in Asia.

We stopped in for lunch and were impressed by the quality of the sushi. To top it off we had a long and enjoyable chat with the owner the people at the next table joined in making the whole experience brilliant. We will be back!

It is very difficult to leave a review as despite booking well in advance and confirming the booking, it was closed when we arrived, one guest had come up from Dorset and the other from London, this was a totally wasted day, and followed on from a recent experience when despite booking well in advance our table had not been reserved and we ended up in a rear room Food is good here but very pricey, but the admin and communication is truly dreadful Don’t bother booking, just turn up and if open then eat, but if expecting to be welcomed forget it! If it was possible to leave a score of zero I would!

Lovely little Japanese restaurant. Excellent sushi and Sashimi, as well as home made Kimchi, with friendly service. Only additional thing I could ask for is if they did home delivery!

Highly recommend Rye Sushi. The sushi was excellent quality … so good, we ended up ordering a second platter … plus more hot sake to go with it of course. The Korean fried chicken and wakame seaweed salad were also delicious. Adam is a bit of a legend front of house. If we lived locally we’d be in here all the time!

We went here for take-away sushi, and it was some of the best I've had. And I've eaten sushi all over the world. Having a genuine Japanese chef is probably a large contributor to the excellent quality. While ordering and then waiting for the sushi the owner/manager couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended for anyone who loves sushi - or wants to try it.

Really good sushi! We had prawn steamed gyoza and prawn crackers, spicy salmon avocado and soft shell crab sushi rolls.

First time eating here. My daughter requested sushi for her birthday meal. Read reviews and thought we’d give it a try. Food was fab, daughter had Gyoza and Sushi, I had Beef Ramen, husband had Katsu Chicken, along with Korean fried chicken. Food really good. Oh and the Peach Sake gorgeous. Service was a little delayed due to a staff shortage that night, but Adam was great and it didn’t affect our enjoyment of our meal. He brought out some matcha cake with candles to sing happy birthday to my daughter.

Great little Sushi restaurant in Rye. The place is kept clean snd the staff are very friendly and helpfull. You can ask them to recommend what you want to eat. We got a little tution in using Chopsticks ! The food is freshly prepared and tastes fantastic. Totally recommend this place when in Rye 👍👌😁

Such an exciting event when finally we got a Japanese restaurant opening in lovely little Rye! After the terrible disappointment of the worst Mexican in the universe, what a welcome surprise ! Adorable people, amazing food quality, nice atmosphere. Best restaurant in Rye! And for Japanese fusspots, who know the real thing, this is REAL sushi, top chef, fresh delicious, wonderful treat of treats! A total success. ( but do avoid the horrific Mexican, unless you like wearing sombreros and eating stale nachos…)

Had delicious Sashimi and Tempura Sushi lunch served on beautiful Japanese tableware, with local Charles Palmer wines at this lovely welcoming restaurant in Rye. As good as I have had in London !

Absolutely delicious food. Service was great with a wonderful host. Highly recommended. For reference we had the Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu (which was massive) and cmthe fried chicken roll.

Delicious and fresh. The only thing that really bothered me was that there wasn't a description of the sushi in the menu, so I just randomly picked 2 rolls. Luckily, they were both super tasty!

Authentic and Fresh Sushi Restaurant in a Beautiful Town Rye Sushi is a brand new addition to the amazing Rye, offering fresh, vibrant and great tasting sushi. As a great advocate for Japanese food and Japanese culture, Rye sushi is a great place to go to enjoy Sushi and have a drink with family and friends. Service is flawless, Adam and his team is a kind and outgoing individual who provides great hospitality. Food quality is top notch, with fresh sashimi, and great selection of Japanese sushi options from Sushi rolls, Sashimi, Ramen and Katsu’s options there is plenty of options for all, what I like about Rye Sushi is that it’s hard to find good tasting sushi especially in the UK and East Sussex, Rye Sushi provides not only great service but really authentic Japanese sushi, which I would say is on par with the real deal if you were in Japan, the rice and seaweed is the most important part for a make or break sushi restaurant and it is cooked perfectly here, there are good platter selections which I highly suggest to order. Prices are fair, for what you get, it is sushi so expect what to pay. The quality is there so it is a great choice for a meal out in Rye. I usually don’t leave many 5 star reviews for restaurants (if you browse my reviews) - rye sushi is definitely my go to.

Gorgeous food. I had inari & spicy beef ramen. All really tasty. OH had yakitori and katsu curry.

My wife and I went for dinner, we recieved a warm welcome from Adam and met his wife and chef Jang. The menu was excellent catering for all tastes vegan, celleriac etc. My wife and I had a bottle of Prosseco, sparkling water and for starter Seasoned Crispy Cuttlefish Tempura & Yaki Tori (Spicy Chilli Chicken Skewers ). For main Spider Maki ( Soft Shelled Crab Roll ) & Jang's Dragon Roll. The food was nicely presented and very tasty. To finish the meal warm saki. Great hosts ,excellent food and reasonably priced. Look forward to going back I thoroughly recommend Rye Sushi. 2nd Visit Had the Crispy Tempura Cuttlefish and Shrimp Dumpling very nice. For main I had the Chicken Katsu Curry and my beloved had Soft Shelled Crab Roll. Washed down with a bottle of Prosseco. To finish I had cold Saki. As always a warm welcome excellent food and presentation.

I would love to be able to write a review. We tried to go for lunch. The opening hours on the door said 12-2 ( no mention of evening hours so assumed lunch only) but the door was locked, though the lights were on. Knocked but no answer. As they weren’t open for dinner we booked somewhere else but when we walked past that evening there were diners inside. Very confused, annoyed and disappointed.

Absolutely lush food! So pleased that this gem has opened in Rye! The prawn crackers were the best I have ever tasted and the chicken teriyaki skewers were gorgeous! We also had the tempura veg, California roll, seasoned chips and desserts. All really delicious! We cannot wait to return!

Myself and my mother ate here tonight and we're both very impressed. We shared pork stuffed aubergine tempura to start which was delicious. Then the shredded beef ramen as our main which was the best ramen I've tasted. Friendly owners and great food for a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back to try their fresh sushi 🍣

2 days ago I was with our school from Germany as part of a study trip to Rye. I was there at Rey Sushi and it was wonderful the owner was very nice and the food (egg fried rice) was delicious I can only recommend it to everyone.
