Downloaded the Rustico app to order a take-away as they said they no longer took orders over the phone. Their app lost my order which I had really struggled to put in the basket in the first place. Tried several times and was presented with a blank screen and so gave up. Their Hailsham manager told me it was more than his job was worth to take an order over the phone. I deleted the app and wont go to Rustico again. Shame because we liked their pizzas in the past and they used to be very pleasant and efficient when we phoned our order through. Why do these companies think they dont need to give personal service any more - especially in an industry that is really struggling?

The service was awful we were having a leaving meal for a work colleague and we were rushed to place orders for food, when it arrived the lasagne look like it was for a child and didn't come with any salad or sides. My colleagues pizza were burnt on the bottoms and dropping with grease. The staff was rude and did not deliver a service with a smile.

Enjoyed the food. Good choice of pizza and pasta. I had Arrabbiata rigatoni with added mozzarella.

Eaten in 3 times now and ordered takeaway at least twice if not more. Every meal has been delicious and staff/service have been great every time!

Good pizzas if you can actually get an order in. But they don't take orders over the phone so you have to go online, Which at 9pm on a Friday night allows you to go all through the process before giving you collection or delivery slots, only for the following day. Pointless waste of time! Sorry, maybe a bit harsh, but I'm working this hungry!

Ordered our for the first time here for home delivery - huge disappointment Food was due to arrive at 845 it arrived at 940 -although on the app it said it had left the restaurant at 9pm, and then the app said our food was delivered i rang the restaurant- lady extremely unhelpful pizza arrived burnt not even rustic it tasted to much like charcoal to enjoy and was extremely soggy - will not be ordering / eating here again

Slow service, order was not ready when I was text to collect, staff said head office text in certain time frame not when food is actually ready

Fantastic food and superb service, 3rd time me and my better half have been there and it's brilliant, meat pizza with meatballs is the best, dog friendly too, which for us is perfect ❤️

Had another lunch here recently. Probably 5th or 6th time in the last 6 months. Service was fast and the server so friendly and welcoming. Their lunch deals are great value and though it is never heaving with people at lunchtime, the speed at which the food comes out is always consistently good. Food is tasty and plentiful.

First time at this restaurant and will definitely be back. The atmosphere lacked a little where it was so quiet but the food more than made up for it. Some of the best Italian we’ve had in a long time - rigatoni pasta was perfect and their pasta sauce was exceptional. Really good prices too.

Love the flavors. The tomato sauce is bang on. Their pizza/bread is fresh and tastes amazing. The meatballs weren’t fresh so a tad disappointed with that. Will go back for the sauce and bread though

Honestly? The best Italian-Neapolitan restaurant in the UK. The menu is 100 % pure with no bad influence whatsoever. Pizza is absolutely perfect, pure Neapolitan, dough is well done, all ingredients are very well balanced and fresh. Calzone was one of the best I ever tried. And tried a lot. Pasta is home made, al dente, bolognese sauce was light almost uplifting, made with majority of tomato reminded me about the taste of childhood full of sun. Definitely not the usual disgusting beef stew type of nonsense served in most of food poisoning facilities. Perfect. And the coffee? Just amazing. Double espresso was a real amazing experience with surprisingly changing taste during a sip from gentle sour to pleasantly bitter at the end. I couldn’t believe it. I had to have another one to confirm my initial impression. Well, service was great as well but this is something expecting if you serve food of such quality. Believe me I’m no joking if I say it’s worth to stop here on the way from London to the south even if you have to make a little diversion. 100% recommended. All of this for very low price for the highest quality.

One of the best pizzas we had outside of Italy.

Tried to palm us off with about 6 pieces of ff pasta each but failed to tell us before we ordered that theyd run out.

Visited today with the family and was great. Kids got to stretch there own pizza dough & make it with there own toppings etc. Service was great, would happily return. 4 of us ate here with drinks and pudding for under £60 :-)

food was okay visited on last thursday . i have visited the resturant 3 times earlier 2 was ok fully cooked and great food by ponychef but the services last time was worst not good food niether cooked proper and staf was not at good service.

Dinner for one: Pasta alla Puttanesca with garlic bread (V). Was absolutely delicious 😋 support your local eateries people!

Unfortunately food really wasn’t very nice, super burnt bottoms of the pizza and just in general wasn’t enjoyable. Had this pizza before for delivery and never had the issue, the server was nice and took a pizza off but we won’t be ordering again.

Nice place,very rustic.. Very good pizza , the waiting time wasn't bad.. You can have kids birthday party there.. Really enjoyed it.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. We have walked past countless times but never been in. Decided to have a spot of lunch and taking advantage of their Lunch special. Good food and great value for money. Just wish they would share their Pizza sauce recipe with us, :) Good work.

My fiance and I ordered a pizza and lasagne to share as we've never eaten from here before. I have to say the lasagne was atrocious. There was no white sauce whatsoever and it was dry and just slopped into the container. The pizza was ok but nothing special really. Very disappointed

I am so surprised at how disgusting the food was tonight. We tried a new pizza and a usual one and they were absolutely awful. I can’t believe how awful our experience has been. Never again and again am sorry you provided such awful food.

Had a wonderful take away from Rustico last night. Both pizzas were perfect and ready for collection on time. We had an issue with the app during ordering but the staff were wonderful in addressing our concerns and sorting the problem out the next day. Excellent customer services and terrific food!!

Lovely waitress looked after us. Restaurant smelt of fried food, and the food was greasy.

I bring my 7 year old son here every couple of weeks as it is his favourite place to go! He loves the food and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend

Great experience, funky setting with memorabilia everywhere. Service was friendly and helpful. Food arrived quickly and freshly cooked. Bill was £52 for four people, 4 mains, 5 drinks, 1 coffee, 2 puds, so very reasonable. Perfect for meeting up after work and will definitely be back.

Terrible … we’re vegan and someone made a mistake in forgetting to choose vegan cheese when ordering When the pizzas came I could tell.. so I called them right away to confirm if the pizzas has vegan cheese or not and was told they were all VEGAN. So four vegans consumed a DAIRY cheese pizza because of being told that. I felt I’ll the next morning so I called to tripple check with the kitchen and was told actually they were all in fact DAIRY .. they offered a pitiful 10% off as an apology…. Which is a total joke considering I’d any of us were allergic to dairy we could have died

We love Rustico for informal and tasty dining in a friendly and happy atmosphere. The pizza is great and always freshly cooked and all the staff are cheerful and friendly. We've been served several times by Evie - she's great. If we have 1 small criticism, which explains the 4 food stars, we think they use more salt than is ideal for us but certainly doesn't put us off. And it's only a 2 minute walk from home. :)

We had our little boys 3rd birthday meal here. Very friendly and helpful service from Evie. Evie gave us recommendations and answered all our questions. Food was served quickly and my son loved the pasta and meatballs.

A great Italian restaurant in the High street in Hailsham. There is a varied selection of food and drink on offer including options for those who require gluten free and vegan options. They also have a good children's menu . The restaurant has a relaxed ambience and staff were really friendly and welcoming especially Evie who served us.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere, came here with my partner, his son and my children. Fantastic service throughout from Ellie (our server) who was very attentive to our needs. We wanted to leave Ellie a tip but found out she wouldn’t actually receive any of it if a card payment tip was made. Recommend the house red, merlot, this was delicious. Excellent vegetarian and GF options. Will be coming back again!

Lovely pizzas, easy order process. Vety helpful staff. The GF option & additional topping were great. My large order was delivered a tad early, but they heated up without spoiling, & early is better than late. Will use again.

We went for a pre wedding dinner and Evie our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, polite and catered for everything. We had a great evening and really enjoyed ourselves!

Friendly welcome by the girls. Game's to play while waiting for food. Food was average and had to send 1st pizza back because it was burnt and skinny fries were bland. Service was great and good value for money.

I visited with my mother and my 3 children early on a Friday evening. Very attentive staff and our server, Kelly, was knowledgeable and super helpful with helping the children making their choices (and she was right!). Food was first class. We thought we had ordered too much but finished it as this was pizza as it should be, crispy, thin bases, flavourful toppings and really good sizes for the price. Kids want their birthdays there now. We will definitely be going again.

I’m not really into Italian food but my kids love pizza and wanted us to go there. The food was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. We came from the USA to visit family and we came by and it was such a great experience we decided to come again. The staff there were absolutely great and can we request you to open up a restaurant in NC and send Keri over, we would love to have her. Thanks again to everyone there and hope to go there again the next time we come to visit 😊🙌🏻❤️

I haven't eaten a main meal in the restaurant so haven't enjoyed the full experience but I have had about four takeaway pizzas. If you like Italian style pizza rather than Dominoes then I think you should give it a try. The pizzas are really nice and the base is probably the best I've had apart from holidays in Italy.

It is what it is, basic Italian Street restaurant. Service very friendly, food good if a little slow in arriving (Friday night deliveries I guess). Not used to drinking wine from tumblers but generally all ok

I have been to many of the other Rustico restaurants (Battle, Eastbourne, Bexhill, etc). They have all been amazing - as per my reviews. This one fell short unfortunately. Such a shame as this one is a good size and looked great inside. When we entered there were no staff in site. We stood at the entrance for a good 5 minutes before anyone came over to us. I'm always very polite but felt the member of staff serving us was quite rude and did not make us feel welcome at all. To add to that, my pizza had a soggy base which was surprising as the top was cooked really well.

We went for lunch on good Friday. We were the only table. Staff were very good and the pizza was lovely. We normally have takeaway and have not been disappointed, but eating in the pizza was even better.

Had a wonderful visit with my wife, we both ordered diavolas which our waiter, Josh i believe his name who was a very helpful pleasant young man helped us choose, the pizzas was were absolutely delicious, this coupled with the beautiful rustic interior made me feel as if we were in a Pizzaria in Rome! But yes would absolutely recommend 10/10 staff are lovely especially Josh and will definitely be coming back!

Have eaten at Rustico a few times on different days of the week, for personal and work lunches, and would absolutely recommend. The staff have all been lovely, particularly the manager, Tim, who is always so friendly and welcoming. The food is simple but tasty and a good price. Added bonus is that they're dog-friendly. If you're in Hailsham, you should make a stop bere.

We had a great dinner out with a lovely warm welcome from the staff and delicious food. Family friendly so the kids loved it too 😊 Our waiter was Tim and he could not have been more helpful nothing was to much.

Would highly recommend great proper Italian pizza, that tastes great and its half the price of the big chains with much better serivce. 😀 👍

Food was great. Early lunch so not many people hence at this time not much atmosphere, I am sure that's different when more people present. Definitely would recommend to give this lace a try.

We ordered a collection on 4th January and my girlfriends pizza (Rosie) via just eat was very sloppy with all the toppings come off, there was hardly any toppings in the box either. Pizza was burnt and guy forgot to give us our drinks but luckily I checked and asked for them. My pizza was good but my girlfriends was inedible. It was our favourite place and we've ordered so many times but highly unlikely to order again.

Dined in, for after work Xmas meal. Arrived to find the room filled with around 21 screaming, shouting children, noise was off the scale, wine was served in tumblers and when asked for a wine glass was told they didn't have any! Why serve wine when no glasses to suit the drink. Food was just about acceptable, new manager looked like he wasn't staying as served with his jacket on and looked like it was all too much trouble. Will not be returning, very disappointed

Visited for the first time on Friday 11th November, I was with a group of 13, we rang up and booked earlier in the week, on Friday evening I rang again to make sure they still had the reservation, we sat down at 8pm, food didn't arrive until nearly 9.30pm, 5 cold lasagne, 1 undercooked pizza and 1 burned pizza, we sent all back and the chef proceeded to bang and clatter around the kitchen as if he couldn't be bothered to reheat the food or remake it because it was wrong. The waitress who came to take payments was very sharp with us all as we wanted to pay separately and said we should have told her we wanted to pay separately before ordering our meals. She then tried to charge us a £21 tip which she didn't get! Was super polite to us but only after we had payed the total which was over £200! I will not be returning here again which is a shame because the place its self was lovely, just a shame about the attitudes of the staff letting the whole place down.

Very busy Saturday night. Food was good and service was prompt and friendly but as we started to finish up last course we felt we were being rushed to pay the bill and leave,which I do understand as it’s busy, but a little off putting at the same time!
