Rusholme Chippy in Manchester

I went here Thursday 5th December around 2pm. Got a kobeda on naan. By 6pm the food poisoning kicked in, it’s now 24 hours later I’ve used the toilet about 30 times I’m sick and tired my head is pinging. I’ve had to miss work earlier today I can barely get out of bed. I’m so angry how these man given us rotten meat 🤬. Tasted good tho.(also it’s defo here that’s given me food poisoning as a couple of the lads have stomach problems too)

Odered a kobeda and fish and chips. The Fish was not nice its frozen out of a box that they fry. Kobeda was OK nothing special

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Rushlom chippy Not only was the customer service shockingly poor, but it was clear that the root of the problem lies in how the staff are treated by the owner. The waitstaff seemed stressed and overworked, and while I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt, I noticed the owner berating employees in front of customers. This unprofessional behavior created a hostile and uncomfortable atmosphere, making the experience unpleasant for everyone in the restaurant. It's no surprise that the service was disorganized and slow, given the toxic environment. Employees looked demotivated, which I believe is a direct reflection of how poorly they are treated. This place needs serious changes, starting with how the management treats its team. Until then, I can't recommend dining here to anyone. Respect for workers and decent service should be the foundation of any business.

Overpriced too expensive for what?

Great kebabs at an affordable price! Tasty, juicy, and served with fresh naan or rice. Perfect for a quick, budget-friendly meal in Rusholme. Busy but worth the wait!

Used to be good burnt left over chips

The whole experience was a shambles. Fish and Chips was more of recycled chips fried in lard. The fish was fried , burnt and crispy.

Very expensive with normal taste

New layout hits, rude staff misses. Unfortunately the kobedas have inflated in price and shrunk in size more than your average Cadburys (/Kraft /Mondelez) choc

Been here a few times and never disappoints. My husband has just said it’s the best kebab he’s ever had and he’s been going since 1984! The lamb was cooked perfectly, so moist & the chicken is 100% - everything is fresh & the staff are really nice too.

Brilliant kobeda man loved it no atmosphere though good seating outside for summer.

Have to say on personal preference that Afghan cuisine two doors down is so much better. Nothing wrong with this place but the tastes, flavors and experience I have had over the years is so much better less than 30 meters away from your place. Sorry Rusholme chippy. For me it’s a no, in comparison. I’m definitely an Afghan cuisine customer.

The chicken burger was absolutely divine - the chicken so deep fried and crispy; I felt so bad for eating it. A bit overpriced though.

Bloody good food! Finally got the opportunity to try this place out. I opted for menu 7 mixed kebab. 😋 What was nice was there was hand washing facilities which is rare when there’s no toilet facilities available. Definitely another visit on the cards.

Been visiting for years. Since my mate took me as he had been going since was a kid. Since I been going they have refurbed which has made loads of space and the quality of food is the same which i'm glad to say. Can not beat the Koobedi Kebabs here with their chutneys especially the red one. I think their naan's have recently changed because I used to get bloated very quickly before with them but this time I didn't. Even the chips and chicken Tikka are always super tasty. It can get very busy at times which can also mean the shop can get a little smoky but not normally that smoky if the door is open, but there is also seating outside too. With the atmosphere of Wimslow road. The service here is always great and the staff always very friendly.

This should not have been served out. Couldn’t eat it, looks like someone took a bite or picked at it. Seems unsanitary

Had previously Ordered food, the last two times I’ve ordered the delivery was not what I ordered and when I rang the restaurant I was hung up on and greeted with aggressive attitude! Very surprised this happened twice on subsequent orders 😢

Actually the nicest kebab I’ve had in years

I heard a lot good things about this place. But very disappointed with food taste very generic, serving in paper which is shorter than Nan bread, not recommended , it may have history but all gone now.

A place to eat BURNT and oily food! Worst kids friendly place ever visited. Request the guy 3 times not to throw things so hard/loud because of a sleeping kid, they didn’t bother at all. What a nightmare!

Decent chippy, famous for the kobeda

Amazing Kobedeh Kebabs. Been coming here for over 35 years. Incredible flavour. Just one piece of advice, tell them not to put the meat on the bread and have it served separately otherwise, by the time you get half way through it, it'll fall apart and become soggy Second piece of advice is when you've told them not to put the meat on the bread, say again to them, NO MEAT ON THE BREAD !!!

A bit pricey as compared to others. They don’t serve on table even when there’s no rush at all, otherwise it’s all good..

The food, the atmosphere and service was bang on! Salads and sauces provided separate to use at your own pace, and finally... the staff.. as busy as they were they didn't hold back on service levels even took the time out to reccomend items I may enjoy... can't wait to go back

Mixed kobeda and chicken tikka on naan, with fresh salad and excellent spicy sauce. Definitely one of my favourite places for a simple but delicious meal.

I have been to this 14th April 2:38am I ordered food for my little son a chicken burger and he also gave the food very late and when I complain gentleman who served me with a beard middle aged he served me and was very rude he said to me I don’t make the burger why are asking me I said to him you served me so I have to complain to you one of his friends very big face sitting in the customer area he started to argue with me I keep saying to him nothing to do with you this gentleman served he is going to exchange the burger I ordered food for four people after big argument we didn’t eat we pay 40 pound left all food there and walked out also they tried to fight me I had my two sons with me so I had to leave I always use this place I have many years also I come all the way from Oldham very bad customer service they have no clue how to respect a customer my advice is don’t go with your family also the burger I was served looked burned

What a place. Goes there every other week and it amazes me everytime. Food is second to none. Customer service is the best. 10/10 for Saeed bhai. He always looks after us and everyone he serves.

Staff needs to know how to speak english.

What a great place for food, we stopped to check out what was on offer and oh my days my husband said it was one of the best kebabs he'd ever eaten. The food was fresh, flavourful well presented and great value for money. The staff are helpful and friendly and the seating area was clean and tidy. There are so many places in this area to eat but I will be returning for my kebab it was awesome.

The food is great - the lamb chops were some of the best I've had in a kebab. Well worth trying.

My favourite place to eat on the curry mile, food is stunning and most of the time I leave with leftovers , chicken tikka and rice is heavenly

Okay I think I'll just list my issues this time: stairs to enter, staff struggled tounderstand me (I'm English with a not very strong accent) I got curry and chips and the 'curry' tasted like vinegar and was a bit green in colour and 100% liquid. Lastly the grunts and noods to tell me what to do from staff and customers was quite rude from the moment I walked in they acted like I should know to rush. It was quite an uncomfortable experience.

Great food Good portion sizes especially if you're a big eater If you're eating out, ask for the naan and meat separate as it can make the naan can get drenched in oil (unless you're into that Prices have increased a fair bit expect to pay £15-20 per person for a mix kebab chips and drink

Delicious food has been served here for many years, the kobeda kebabs are fantastic, portions are very generous, prices are reasonably competitive. Well worth a visit.

If you’re looking for only fish and chips avoid this place first time ever coming. The fish was frozen and not fresh and the chips were undercooked

Kbabs and nan are not cooked properly today and rice taste is so bad. Must needs to improve food quality and service. Few months before 8 out of 10 But today sorry to say Only one 1 out of 10 today.

If you have’nt been here before then you need to try it. Best place for kobedas and grilled chicken and lamb chops. They even do a great chip barm!! Go and give it a try. Highly recommend

Chicken was very under cooked, and Nan bread was soaking in juices, I told the staff but they done nothing about it but made a big fuss. I really wasn’t happy and left still hungry

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Can’t fault the Kobeda at all. It is definitely the best around! The owner is so respectful and looks after his customers very well. Highly recommend!

Called to check allergy information for some dishes and was told they would not speak to English staff that cook some dishes…did ask very politely if they could ask but guy was rude and said he would not speak to the English staff. Okay then

Had the kobeda chicken tikka pieces on nan the best one I had in a long time proper old school would deffently recommend this and sauces mixed together was nice chips was also decent and we went 2am in morning and was fairly busy but easy seating for 5 lads

The food is completely rubbish, last night we ate mixed kebab which is horrible!! The kobida was so oily and the chicken was tasteless. After 24hrs stil filling sick!

This place is the best in the WORLD for Kobeda! ... and I travel for a living.

Can be a little busy but i did a take out. One of the best cheesy chips and the man who serviced us was polite and made sure order was done quickly.

I went in the morning to get a cup day kebab and I asked the staff that is the cupboard. The kebab is lamb or any other meat. He said his lamb so I had it and I had reaction when I got home and I went to the hospital, food reaction and the staff was very rudelook aggressive, I have food emergency and I told them you can’t put yoghurt sauce and if he’s not proper lamb I can’t have it. I can’t have beef or other meat, not the original chippy anymore.

Went in for fish and chips. They put in frozen fish into hot oil resulting in burnt batter fish full of oil but raw fish inside, it was hideous!! The fish went straigh into the bin.. The pictures of the fish and chips looked so promising too. What a waste of £10!! The chips were more palatable, but dry. The best part of the meal was the Diet Coke!!! Disgraceful to call yourselves a 'chippy'!!

This place is best avoided. A grey haired, middle aged staff member was extremely rude and arrogant. It's not good for the business, perhaps the management needs to have a look at it. This staff member is not fit to work in any capacity dealing with fellow humans. Try other places where you are welcomed with a smile and warmth to spend your hard earned money. A rare evening out with the family ruined! Only plus point at this place was a staff member called Saeed. Who would be a credit to any business an empathetic, kind and lovely gentleman.

It is a good middle eastern style restaurant but many other options like fish and chips available. Food is good. Especially the wraps, kababs etc. Good size portions and service also is good

Unfortunately, we were regulars from another city and would make sure we always would purchase our kobedas. Now we don't feel like it They have gone expensive The kobedas are smaller then the naan The kebedas have a different taste to it Not the same anymore. It's very sad.

Went there for lunch last month with my family and the food was absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for the best kabab in town then look no more.

It was a big decision to try rush holm chippy,because there were other options on wilmslow Road. Anyway we ordered the famous kobeda. The food was OK,not what all the hype is about. The nan was too hard,and the kobeda was OK. Tasted like it was only fat and no meat. THERE ARE OTHER BETTER PLACES OUT THERE. It is very expensive and not worth the money at all.
