Al Safa in Manchester

First time visit we've got two half roast chicken. Was super tasty and we also got some salad and sauces to accompany it! Definitely wort for the price/quality!! Thanks

I think bcoz of ramazan they are not selling much and dats why food is not fresh specialy kabali the smell in rice and meet can be feel very easily i had my food after long working hours and almost made me sick and feeling like vomiting and its not the case of 1 time actually it happened twice so defo not going ther again and wont recommend specialy for delivery

Nice clean and pleasant place to eat, staff don't pester you like in some places lol. Food was tasty and you get great helpings. . I had some curried tender lamb, ordered mild, however it burnt my mouth out . Needed some milk to help calm my mouth. . I can handle quite hot curries and jerk chicken etc.. but this was really hot. My partner had extra hot and was sweating to say the least. That's the only meal we tried but the foods tasty, the meats tender and if you like a bit of heat then definitely try the tender lamb. Not cheap but also not super expensive either however the portions make up for the cost so great value overall if you want a full belly.

First time visit, excellent food. I got the chicken tikka with naan with the Lamb kebab with naan and chips. It's definitely value for money, flavoursome with the right amount of potion. I will certainly be visiting them again and recommend others to do so.

Food was up to standard , but had to wait over an hour and people who sat down after us got there food first. Customer service was shocking all the staff are rude and I asked for a take away box and had to wait 25 minutes for it

Mostly good for Asians, the food was tasty. Quite reasonable and worthwhile. We ate dinner at Al Safa Restaurant. and relaxed with sips from a hot cup of tea. The neighbourhood was pretty crowded. Suitable for families.

Food is delicious but atmosphere isn't nice

The place for authentic afghan kebabs. Portions are generous for the price and they provide a variety of freshly made condiments and salad to compliment your meal. The naan was crispy, cooked to perfection alongside the kobeda kebab, which I believe is their signature dish. Additional seating upstairs, it’s a very traditional and minimal set up, where the food really speaks for it itself.

Amazing food. So delightful and tender. Enjoyed every bite of the mixed grill. Even the fish was outstanding. Perfectly cooked. All spices were blend out nicely and the sauces went well with the food.

This is my review from 2023 I have not been for a few years and the place has been renovated it can now sit more people but seems to have lost the cosyness that it used to have ... The usual guy was not there and the salad was looking sad. The meat and the bread were still good but a double lamb kobeda is now £13.50 so not really very affordable. Seems a shame as I used to love it here. This is my review from 2017 Al Safa is one of my favourite places on Wilmslow road, the double lamb kobeda is only £6 with salad, its usually cooked really well leaving it soft and juicy and the bread is almost as long as your arm. The salad is decent, with hummus and I would happily pay an extra few quid for a larger salad. There is one guy there who has worked there for years and when he cooks its always brilliant, but occasionally the 'new guy' cooks it and its can be a bit over cooked and dry, but its still worth the money.

Most delicious food. Suggested by friends. They have variety of Deloris dishes at affordable price. Must try kobeda kebab. Must try dal comes with pulav which has vegetables and chicken in it. So tasty, must try.

When we visit we enjoy the Qabli Pilau from here, to date this has not disappointed. Portion is a good price and reasonable price for this day and age

The restaurant Alsafa experience was good. I ordered a roasted chicken half on rice and it’s price is 9 pounds. Its taste was good i give 3 out of 5. In my opinion rice is less if they give more rice it would be better then their salads is so good I like it very much. And the dining is very good lots of space is available. Best kebab in Manchester. Don't really know why this place is usually empny. Food is absolutely amazing. Portions so good. We never finish food which we order. The nan bread oh my god so fresh so delicious so big. We visited this place around 7 times and never leave disappointed. I definitely recommend this place.

Despite the service at Al Safa Takeaway not being exceptional, I would still recommend giving it a try. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. Give this place a chance and you might be pleasantly surprised!

Tasty food. We have enjoyed by ordering at home and dining inside. Nice portion and good presentation. Prices are slightly on higher side. You have to find parking in side streets, which is a mission on weekends. Place is wheel chair accessible.

The quality has gone a little down as the chicken was too dry and somewhat different taste too. Not sure the spices have changed. The Kobeda was like always bang on. The prices have been raised and assuming that everything else has also done the same.

Very Poor. Ordered throug Deliveroo Extremly poor Packaging the plastic box was burned with rice. The box was not safe at all not for warm food.

Huge kobeda kebabs, and very good quality. Don't be put off by the high prices, these are full meals not snacks. The rice is delicious, basically quabili pilao without the meat.

Well where do I start? Bismilah, if you want a week off work and on the toilet all week then please come and eat from here. The workers spend half there time looking at their phone I’m guessing they’re not really bothered since feeding people sewage food is free eh? They’ll tell u their food is fresh but I’m 100% sure the chicken gave me a dirty look and shouted “help”. Little did I know I would spend my Day on the toilet with my head in a bucket. I’m guessing the reason how elvis Presley died was because he took a trip to al safa befoore hand. If you would like me to explain it simpler. Eating from here is only 100% poisoning. Thanks. Friday morning 0215ish. While we're eating I could hear a clipping noise looking over the short male who works there was sat bare foot at the customer table next to the counter, facing into the queue area with nail clippers, doing what looked like clipping the skin off the heels of his feet. I have never witnessed anything quite like this before. Worst bit is I had to continue to eat to not raise suspicion to the person I was with was with as this would have affected them quite badly and made them physically sick especially as we we're already 3/4 through our food. I've been coming here for years had to delete a 3 year old 5* review to make this one. I will never be back.

they are selling falafel for 1 pound which outside 50 p and they refused to refund my money back and i left the shop without taking the order ... how unprofetional team they are stealing our money with doubled price ..the team is so rude they dont even speak english ..dont recommand to anyone

Best Kobeda and Kabuli pulao. Roast chicken with Rice is a treat to taste buds despite the bland name. Prices up by 30 percent in last 2 years but still the best taste that you can find atleast in Manchester.

Lovely fresh Kebabders, can't go wrong here. Staff are brilliant and will go out the way to enjoy your eat in. Obviously on a busy Wilmslow Road, so need to go at the right time when not so busy. Averagely priced for what you're getting.

Disgraceful service. This resturant is NOT suitable for elderly women to attend alone. My mother went today with an old friend from out of town. Once the meal arrived they asked the waiter in English if he could take their picture using her phone. The waiter replied with the most degrading, insulting rhetoric comment in Pashto. Not realising my mother speaks Pashto! He made reference to women of a certain age should not be enjoying a meal outside the house. He made her feel embarrassed and humiliated. Once my mother replied in Pashto the waiter was quickly ushered to the back by another waiter. The second waiter was totally dismissive of the comment and tried to brush it aside. He tried to say the 1st waiter was making reference to a YouTube video he had just watched! My mother then threatened to report them for their sexist and ageist comment, the second waiter quickly backed down. My mother at this time was clearly distressed and felt totally intimidated, almost bullied into being quiet. A female waiter then came and consoled my mother and apologised on behalf of the waiters. The manager then arrived and profusely apologised and mentioned he had had a stern talk with the waiter who made the comments. He said the waiter had mental health issues (why hire him to wait on customers then?) To be fair he and the lady seemed genuinely apologetic for his behaviour but by then the damage had been done.

Thanks to the Uber 50% off deal I thought I'd try this place as I love a good kobeda. Unfortunately this wasn't a good kobeda. Firstly, kobeda should always come with salad and sauces ON, because invariably when they come seperately there's never enough salad nor sauces, and today was no different, and the naan was very difficult to tear, it was kind of like it was made of rubber or something. However, the biggest disappointment was the kobeda itself. I don't know what they did, was it a new meat mixture?, did they forget to spice it?, was it not freshly cooked?, I genuinely don't know. But it sure didn't taste like kobeda. The only good thing was the chips. I totally understand that you loose something when eating at home compared to in the shop, but this was a whole new level of disappointment.

Been eating here for the last 15 years. Best items on the menu: 1. Kabuli pilau 2. Chicken Al faham (best in all of manchester) 3. Kobeda kebab (best in all of manchester) Service is excellent and quick. Note: When ordering the qabili pilau ask for softer meat and extra carrots raisens. The lamb can be dry sometimes.

There Qabuli polow is not good.rice quality is low, their isnt enough carrots and raisin in it, the meat seems to be tough and old. They are Afghans,and they have to do justice to the national dish of Afghanistan 🇦🇫

Highly recommended best Kobeda kebab

Establishment- Al Safa, Rusholme Boss man is sound as a pound, clean and welcoming insides lol the usual stuff on the menu Order: chicken and kobeda mixed special with salad and sauces separate Meat/Meats - Chicken: nicely cooked chicken tikka, nothing to stand out from the rest but nice Kobeda: really thick and not as greasy as some other places but at same time probably not as much flavour as some of the others l, you can’t really see many herbs etc when you cut into it but you can taste it just not the depth of flavour as some of the others 6/10 Bread - freshly made, however hard to judge these type of naan breads in the current climate as in my opinion they need eating right away, otherwise by time you’ve gotten home it starts to fall through However very nice, but need to come back when we can eat inside again 6/10 Accompaniments (Salads & Sauces) - Salad was so good! Pickled type salad with pickled chillis (winner) 3 different sauces Yoghurt and mint, lovely..good consistency, not runny like others Chilli type chutney - not sure what this is but goes really well with the kobeda, little bit tangy and bit of heat Hot chilli sauce - epic!!! This sauce is up there with the best, very hot with loads of flavour...bang on 9/10 Value - £9.50 Pretty standard for round here for this type of kebab 8/10 Eatability - Knife and fork job, need to come back when can eat when it’s served straight away...hopefully boris allows this soon 6/10 Overall score- 35/50 Conclusion- good! Salad and sauces made it one worth returning too A deffo must try
