My friend and I went here for dinner. We had very friendly service from Shey, and ordered the mixed grill for 2. It was beautifully cooked, juicy and nicely spiced. It’s BYOB, with a handy shop just across the road. Very reasonably priced. A previous negative reviewer said he/she went there several times, and it was awful. So why did he/she go there several times?? Fake review!

Ordered a joojeh ( chicken shish platter with rice and salad ) and zereshk polo ( chicken pulav kinda thing with salad ) When the food arrived we realised the joojeh alone would have sufficed , even though the food was good we could only eat half from each plate and I would have appreciated had the host advised on this, food wastage could have been averted The joojeh is recommended , the chicken tikka was juicy , succulent and full of flavour

My mum wanted to go to this restaurant for her 60thbirthday . The food was lovely and so filling there was even left overs for my grandad the next day.

I went to Rumis on 10.4.2019. I have been here several times and always find the same vibe. The food is average and so I would recommend Zeytoon across the road. The waiters all unbelievably rude and unaccommodating. When you ask for something which does not cost, i.e. water, ice, more sauce they look at you as though you are mad. They walk off whilst you talk to them and basically will not give what you asked for. Unless however... you are Iranian. I watched our waiter whilst I was there serve every Iranian with a smile and run around after them. I hate to bring race into this but this is VERY common in Rumis and other similar restaurants. It should not matter where you are from to get decent service or what language you speak. Save your money - go across the road to Zeytoon or Elementree. Better food, same price, nicer decor and definitely better service. These people should learn that until they change their attitudes, they will not do well in business.

I like this restaurant but the takeaway is hit and miss - there have been occasions when the food is not cooked through. It always comes fast though so that is a positive but would prefer if it was cooked ! Always empty as a restaurant but think the area is up and coming!

If you’re looking for a place to eat in Cricklewood then I’d certainly give this restaurant a recommendation. There are set menus at lunchtime which a very good value and a reasonable a la cartel menu in the evening. They have their own roasted furnace for making fresh Persian bread ( a little like nan bread but thinner and crispier with sesame seeds) it’s the best bread I’ve tasted. Little dough balls are thorn against the inside of a conical furnace to cook in a few minutes before they are sliced and served freshly. I had a set lunch which was on the generous side. There is a wide range of charcoal grilled foods suiting most people. Service was wonderful. The most interesting surprise as a saffron ice cream served with pistachio. Never has the taste of saffron on its own been so exquisite. By the way the name ‘Rumi’ references one of the worlds greatest poets who wrote some of most beautiful and thought provoking Sufi writing, which still inspires millions of people.

After a busy day travelling and looking around the tourist sites we wanted somewhere local to eat.there is tons of choice in Chricklewood .We opted for Rumi and boy were we happy with our choice our only gripe was the portions are huge and we felt guilty leaving so much .the staff are friendly and helpful and suggested a lamb dish for myself my husband and son plumbed for mixed grill .homemade flatbread hummas salads dips all delicious

This is my favorite new restaurant! I go to London a couple times a year and I definitely will find my way back to Rumi. My boyfriend and I stopped in because of its proximity to our hotel and absolutely loved it! It's a very nice space and the service is great. Siamak, the owner, was super accommodating and kind. He made our bread right in front of us which was very cool to watch! The food was delicious, I ordered the Joojeh which was some of the most amazing chicken I've ever eaten. Very tender, cooked perfectly, in a delicious marinade. I also had Barley soup which was amazing! It was a very good vibe in the restaurant, we haven't stopped in for dinner yet but I think it would make for a very lovely date night. We had a great experience here and although we had to leave before going back we are excited to return in April.

This is a lovely little restaurant beautifully appointed with soft read leather chairs. We had a mixed platter to start, a selection of 5 delicious dips. You need to separately order a nan - one is enough to they are huge! Drinks - the melon juice was freshly made and tasted amazing. The mint yoghurt drink was good too. The main platter of kebab was beautifully cooked and was served with light fluffy plates of rice. A change of cutlery would have been nice between the starter and main. Worth a visit.

Once inside, the restaurant was fairly busy, with 7 tables. It seemed like most customers were using the Groupon deal. Initially, there was only one staff in the front. He took the picture of the Groupon code twice. Later, another two staff joined. It took 1 hour for the starters to arrive. After 1 hour 10 mins, one of the staff came and asked us wether we ordered the mains??? They hadn't even put our order through!!! There was some kinda confusion between the staff. Some serious confusion!!! They only started making it when they realised it hadn't been put forward. A couple who came an hour after us, had their mains served 30 mins before us!!! The starter platter wasn't too bad. The bread is not included in the price. The mains was just okay. Would be better served on a sizzler plate. Came with a large portion of rice each. Was very dry. The sauces were terrible+ At the very end, most likely the owner, a young man, explained the previous day two of their staff left without any notice and hence there was chaos and such long delays. He didn't charge us for the bread (4) and the drinks (3), which prob would've come to about £14. Regardless, definitely not coming back to this restaurant again and would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Management need to get things sorted, otherwise they will loose customers every time.

Five years ago, I tried something in Iran called "Chiloo Kebab" also known as "Koobideh" in Persian. This restaurant bought back those memories in London; a few thousand miles away from its original location! Within the first five minutes of walking in and sitting down, we knew that the food here was going to be amazing, and it was. Absolutely top of my list. I haven't had food like this in such a long time. The best things were the service and the saffron ice cream. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

I went to Rumi for lunch last month to order the chicken cubes with saffron and rice. When the meal arrived it was so GHASTLY BEYOND ANY WORDS that I could ever describe!!!! The chicken was so dry, overcooked and tasted bland and the rice was most certainly not fresh as it was as hard as nails and stone cold!!!! This established has gone way downhill since it first opened a few months ago and should do us all a favour and close down for good!!!

Came across this restaurant by accident with a group of friends. Food is freshly cooked and well presented and on the large side portion wise. Staff were friendly and helpful and were happy to mix menu items. Very good value for money.

Every dish has a story and they tell it so well and it's so delicious! I recommend the traditional chicken with saffron, pistachios and the untranslatable berries. We'll definitely come back soon to try the saffron ice cream
