Really cute place. Staff were friendly, food was tasty, music was good, all ‘round nice vibe.

Really good vibe in this place! Cinzia, who I think is the owner, was super nice. Food was okay, but the portions were a bit small for the price. Still, we had a fun time and I'd say give it a go.

I booked a table online about 30 minutes before I was due to arrive, when I got to the door I was turned away and the door was locked. I wouldn't recommend a Monday night

During my recent 3 day trip to Newcastle, I had the pleasure of dining at Rumba, and it was truly a standout experience. I started with the "Chicken Causa," which was a fantastic introduction to the flavors of Peru, followed by the "Seco de Cordero" for my main. Both dishes were expertly prepared and full of vibrant, well balanced flavors. Coco, the owner, gave an excellent recommendation and provided the best customer service I encountered during my trip. The meal was complemented by a perfectly made Pisco Sour—authentically crafted with just the right amount of alcohol. Having tried other Peruvian restaurants in London, I can confidently say that Rumba tops them all. The food, service, and overall experience were exceptional. Highly recommended!

very unique style dishes, they serve Peruvian food which is very difficult to find anwhere around the area. Had a very memorable Peruvian raw fish starter, one of a kind. very friendly staffs to explain to us the menu and recommend dishes, will come back

Came here for a quick dinner before watching a concert. We sat down at 18:30, we didn’t leave until 20:30. Took them almost 2 hours to serve us a mixed grill kebab, a halloumi wrap and a lamb gyros. The mixed grill was dry and overpriced. £15 for three pcs of meat that you could probably get from Aldi. The lady server was very disturbing, shouting and arguing with other staff. We ordered a cappucino but the young lady staff did not even bother to tell us it was unavailable after waiting for almost half an hour. Nobody approached us to say the orders were going to be delayed. It wasn’t a very busy night. A few other customers had left without getting food. Definitely will not recommend and will not be coming back. Total waste of time and money.

Wonderful restaurant with friendly service, delicious food and especially the cocktails are worth a try. We did not know what to expect when we read about a Peru restaurant but for anyone who likes Mediterranean food, it is absolutely worth it

Instantly welcoming, cosy and a brilliant antidote to the world. We had a lovely evening here, the food was wonderful, the music great and the kindness of the owner and other members of staff unmatched. Will definitely be coming back for dancing at the weekends ! Gracias por la noche linda!

The food is absolutely delicious and I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone - the seafood and vegetarian dishes are exceptionally good. The staff are solicitous and engaging and will make your experience very enjoyable. 10/10

Tasty traditional Peruvian food. Ceviche is nice and spicy!!

The food was fantastic. We have a fussy eater in the group and she asked for the steak meal but just plain and she loved it. It may have been plain but the flavour was anything but. Good portion sizes, we were all full. The staff were all really nice and welcoming, would come back again to try the whole menu:)

We ordered churros, Aji de Gallina, Lomo Saltado, canchitta and Inka Cola tonight. Food is great and authentic. The owner and the chef were also very friendly and hospitable. They kept everything on even if we’re the only guests in the place. If only they could be more visible from the train station, I think people will like it. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because the food price doesn’t seem to match with experience in the restobar. Other nicer places in Newcastle with good food too have a nicer setting.

Really wanted to like this place. The lady is lovely. Very enthusiastic. But it’s a total rip off. The chicken we got was bland. Small portion too. The lamb was very chewy. 2 meals and 2 non alcoholic drinks £46. Place was empty and freezing cold. Won’t be visiting again.

Love Rumba I go there on Thursday night's to have Salsa lessons and party. I had a nice light meal before my last lesson. I am a vegetarian there was a few choices for me but would have liked more options .Had a cocktail Rumba on the beach was lovely.The lessons by Coca are fun and if you love Salsa you will not be disappointed.

The worst experience, the Peruvian owner is too gossipy and rude, the food is very basic and expensive, these people make Latinos look bad, we won't come back, they have no education or service.

Everything was incredible. The owner/chef are total sweethearts, and the food is out of this world. I was visiting from out of town and came in on my own, these folks made me feel right at home. Highlight of my experience in Newcastle and so grateful I stumbled upon this spot. If you've never had Peruvian food, don't miss checking this place out!

The rumba restaurant is fantastic: with lovely tasty pizza and superb rumba burgers. The rum and whiskey was exactly what I needed in a cold night. The dancing girls and men are not to be missed .. ENJOY :()

Absolutely delightful. The food was excellent, and the cocktails were amazing too (and very well priced, definitely the place to come if you're partial to a caprinha or a pisco sour, we had several!). It was quiet when we went but this didn't bother us too much and it is hardly the fault of the restaurant. Thoroughly recommend!

My partner and I got there at 6pm and there were only 4 other customers in the restaurant, so it was very quiet. The host was very charming, convincing us to get the yuka instead of the chips (he was right, the yuka was better!). I also got the Inca-cola, which was lovely. Service was very slow, but the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. The host convinced one of the women at another table to get up and dance with him at one point, which was fun to watch. Was about £60 for drinks, dessert and main for 2 people, which is a bit more than we'd usually spend but it was lovely and we're looking forward to coming back :)

VERY DISAPPOINTED TO THIS PLACE! Firstly, I booked a table three days earlier, yet they were going to put me next to this pillar in the middle of a floor, then they set me to this corner and that space was so tight. I felt like they didn’t reserve my table at all just put me at whatever. Secondly, the food is over price. A small plate of fish salads is 9 pound??? The lamb with rice was almost 19 pounds but it wasn’t really nice. It gave me hiccup a lot. The beef with rice was 17 and it was ok but why are there fries? Thirdly, the service was sooooooo slow! It took them 30 mins to serve me a salad, and 40 mins to serve us main dishes. At last, it took us three times to ask them to come back and get us the bill, and they charged me at least 6 pounds more? For what? The service? In total I park 53 for such unpleasant experiences. Overall, I am very upset about this restaurant. I will not back.

Excellent little restaurant. We had an early dinner before a show so had the place to ourselves but it didn't take away from the experience as our host provided a lovely friendly service with lots of chat and some salsa music in the background. We had some great food and cocktails and a black zambuca to finish it off.

Visited this Peruvian gem and was blown away by the amazing food and ambiance. The flavors were authentic, from the ceviche to lomo saltado. The atmosphere captured the essence of Peru, and the friendly staff made the experience truly memorable. A must-visit for delicious cuisine and great vibes!

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. But my overall score is reduced because our main course took an hour to arrive, and I was not impressed by the state of the gents toilets. Given that the prices are not cheap, I was expecting a little more from the overall experience.

Great staff, attentive and explained food well, even had a little dance with him! Food was great, everything was tasty and good quality, reasonable prices too. Ambiance was good, music authentic and looks like could turn into a lively place later in the night. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Made our whole group feel welcome from the start. Proper hospitality. We ordered lamb, chicken, cerviche and yuka. All delicious - the cerviche was the best I've ever had! Saved the location for when we're next in town! Thank you to our hosts.

- Go for the seafood. Ceviche & Choros Y Langoustines A La Crema 👌 - There are salsa classes on Wednesdays at 7. - The owners are friendly. - Inca cola is like a creamy irn bru. The pisco sour was tasty. - the grill is only on certain days.

El sitio no tiene nada que ver con un restaurante peruano , la comida un desastre, la camarera que dice que es italiana pero no lo es , ( no entiendo por qué niega su origen ) es muy irrespetuosa , maleducada , se subía en una silla detrás de la mesa a abrir ventanas , a poner luces la verdad fue un momento muy desagradable, cuando nos sirvieron la comida ya habíamos comenzado a comer , cuando se aparece de respete sacándole foto a los platos , sin siquiera pedir permiso osea una verdadera locura , la comida era normal nada que ver con peruana no estaba buena ni mala nada que ver , pero la camarera es lo peor que tiene este sitio , luego el señor de cabello largo que enseña salsa muy educado y muy amable . pero la camarera un desastre y super maleducada, hay que tener un poco de respeto por los clientes .

The best meal we had when we visited Newcastle but, while the food was exceptional, the best part was the staff. They were warm, engaging and bickered like family.

Amazing!! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Food was to die for, people were lovely, music was great, facilities spotless. Worth every penny, and we will definitely be back! We took their recommendations on the food and drink as we were very open to trying new things and it was all amazing. Absolutely disgusted with the service, had to pay money to get in for the nightclub, got given a green wristband got told I had a free shot, so I went to the bar to collect my free shot, told I was lied to then I got the middle finger from one of the bartenders. Don't go there. They will single you out for being different and judge you. Had to leave because we were extremely uncomfortable. It's not worth the service. Drinks are overpriced.

Great experience! The ceviche was really amazing! And the staff so helpful and lovely! I am happy I was recommended this place. As soon as I got there I got the super lovely service from Coco. He suggested a couple of options and I took the ceviche and the lomo asado. In the meantime I even had the opportunity to speak with the chef. Unfortunately since I had to take the train really soon I realised I needed my second plate to be wrapped for takeaway. They did that and helped me pay and leave as soon as possible, successfully making it to the train where I finished my meal. Thank you very much!

Fantastic atmosfera sexy lady boss italian

A friend chose this restaurant a few months ago as he couldn't find ceviche anywhere else. I had the lomo saltado (delicious) and shared rum glazed pineapple as a desert. Very friendly staff, gave lots of pointers as none of us had had Peruvian food before and well priced, would definitely visit again.

Amazing atmosphere at Rumba, great Latin music, the staff are so friendly and the food was so delicious.

We are regular visitors to Rumba at night for a drink and a dance. The music is always amazing (especially when CoCo is DJing) both Cinzia and CoCo are amazing hosts and an amazing night is always guaranteed with a brilliant atmosphere! We've also recently been for food and will most definitely be back! Service and food were all 5 star thank you! Xx

Super friendly staff, made out group feel very welcome. Explained the menu (food and drink) as it was out first time trying Peruvian food, so staff recommended some specialities as well. Good was nice and atmosphere was laid back. Felt very looked after the entire time.
