we stopped here by chance last week all three dishes that we had were really delicious, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls, and a mixed fried rice. Real hidden gem. Highly recommended

Half of the food was delivered, this was rectified quickly and the rest of the food was sent. Food was delicious and was piping hot and a large amount of vegetarian options!

The delivery driver was sent 45 mins early whilst I wad watching the England v Wales 6 nations match in the pub. I then revieved a phone call saying thr driver had been knocking on the doot for ten minutes. and the caller was rude and aggressive. I then managed to get the delivery made to the pub I was in instead upon delivery the driver made rude comments and said I owed him 15 pounds for changing thr delivery address. After much arguments back and forth the driver left. I want a full refund

Our food was warm at best, very oily, not crispy, six pieces of squid with half a rub of oily onions for nearly £7 . Husbands dish was missing and when it came it wasn’t what he ordered. Burnt prawn toasts and burnt prawn crackers with replacement dish. Never again

Hope your not hungry! Portions are tiny, price does not reflect, expensive for what it is. Was also 45 mins late. I won't be calling these again.

What happened?? Rugby House used to have some of the most amazing food in Rugby. Good portions, great flavours but not now. Has it changed hands? We ordered a pork curry, usually it's been Char Sui pork but not this time, it was a few bits of pork floating in a curry soup and the container was only half full. The crispy chicken was just popcorn chicken with a bit of sauce and sesame seeds and half the container was full of lettuce. I'm no expert chef but I can cook and I know that putting lettuce in a closed and hot container will make it wilt and become soggy. I called them up and got all sorts of excuses from "They're not full because people complained about splashing themselves", "The onion to pork rati will be wrong", "It's a new dish but it's been on the menu for months". I was offered extar curry sauce to make up for the half full container but that would have just made it worse. Not sure what has happened at Rugby House but I'm staying away until I hear better feedback

Rugby House is a truly special place. Their egg fried rice to delectable and mayflower curry is on top.

Including some Japanese dishes was a great touch to the menu, best takoyaki in town.

Chicken chowmein Very tasteless, sweet and sour sauce so thin and had no flavour at all.

Possibly the worst takeaway I’ve ever had not only was cold it was greasy , rice stodgy and they sent the wrong curry !!! Plus it was 30minutes late !!

I ordered orange sauce and got lemon instead :( SO sour

On the positive side the delivery was early and the food was hot. Whilst the food tasted better than it looked, it was still quite poor. The Kung-Po had what appeared to be strips of soggy fried bread in it? The chicken balls were mediocre, seemingly cooked in old oil giving them an unpleasant greasy taste and texture. Mushroom rice was ok.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls - they came rock solid , couldn’t even cut through them , complained and they delivered more but they were worse - so will never ever order from there again , Shame as we’ve been loyal customers for a long time

Second time we've ordered a takeaway from here this year. Absolutely beautiful food, not greasy like some Chinese takeaways can be, the vegetables in the dishes are crisp and fresh. Lots of choice on the menu and great vegetarian options too. Delicious, can't wait to order again.

We were the last order of the day, never had tried Rugby house before but it's safe to say overall it was a good experience. Butter and garlic chips were lovely! (I recommend this to anyone who love the sound of that - it's as good as it sounds) Everything was enjoyed however the spring rolls tasted off at the first bite it was horrible, not sure what happened there? Thank you.

Favourite chinese takeaway in Rugby! As a vegetarian there are so many options!! We would not go anywhere else. Food is always hot and delicious!

We always order our Chinese food from gere but unfortunately this time the chow mein had no vegetables in and it just wasn't as tasty.

Normaly fantastic but this time they have obviously got complacent and sent us a load off rubbish chicken balls rock solid sound ice rock solid chips soggy spring rolls un edible ribs not even going to try

We've used here before but not for a while so thought we would give it another go. Wish we hadn't bothered. Chicken balls didn't arrive. Had to ring to report this then driver brought them saying they fell out of bag. They ended up being disgusting anyway chicken was like eating rubber. Obviously old chicken used. Ordered Thai green curry it was so spicy couldn't eat it. Waste of £30 won't be using here again

Most of the food was great as always, but the sweet/sour chicken was overcooked before being battered and was too tough to eat.

The app said that the order was only accepted but the food was delivered anyway. More importantly, the Wondering Dragon that I ordered was spiced with chilli when it usually isn’t and I didn’t like it. The taste was nothing like I expected and completely different than usual- I have had this dish many times. My wife ordered sweet/sour chicken which had carrots in it which is a strange ingredient to add. Also the prawn crackers were tasteless. I think maybe the management has changed and the standard has dropped so I won’t be going there again.

Service and delivery on time, no problems. Food quality was poor it was left too long in fryer, it had a burnt taste. Not value for money, portions very small and hardly no meat in the house curry special. This is the first time we have used this takeaway and the last. 😔

Chow mein ordered no veg with beansprouts got noodles nothing else 4pieces of porkchicken fried rice bland and chicken tasted like cardboard chilli chicken had sweet and sour sauce however the mushrooms and onions was nice

Really great meal, beancurd- schezuan sauce, Singapore noodles plus special chow mein. Very tasty and ready to collect on time. Definitely going back.

First time ordering and last time..food not tasty and very few prawns in a chop suey that also had very few bean sprouts. Just wouldn’t recommend this place.

I think restaurants think it’s ‘helpful’ to be early but it’s not when you are covered in paint and were going to shower before dinner arrived 🙃😂

Oh dear. Times must be getting tough. Noticeable substitutions and poorer quality ingredients in the food now… plus batter around the salt and pepper chicken wings all of a sudden. Not sure if this was intentional now or just a messed up order. I’m hoping the latter. Will try again as usually this place is excellent. I hope tonight’s meal was just a one-off.

Haven't had their Chinese food for ages, after having a horrible meal from here. However, I decided to try the Japanese food that they now serve, although under a different name. The chicken katsu curry was really tasty because of the curry sauce, but the chicken cutlet was tiny. The fried chicken was tasty, but was tiny pieces like Chinese crispy chicken, which wasn't what I was expecting. Honestly, go there and buy just the katsu curry sauce, then chuck it on your own rice and chicken, it'll be just as good.

Had email saying order was accepted then at 21.05 text saying food was on its way! Called at 21.33 and after confusion by restaurant told they didn’t have an order twice then they found it and got delivered about 10pm

The crabs were grossly overcooked and the squid tasted awful and chewy. There was hardly any meat in the four star dish.

Sweet & sour sauce was dish water, thin and no flavour. Crispy king pawns like a cheap scampi, and again sauce was watery. Will not be using this place again

The best of the best, I am so glad I chose something different ! These stand out from the others! Honestly you won’t be disappointed, full of taste and not greasy ! Highly recommend !

Waited over an hour , cold food - wrong order - never again as it went in the bin

The hot and sour soup was a different colour and taste to usual. Unfortunately it was inedible. The spring roll was also greasy and bland. They were obviously having an off day today as the food is usually very good,

All the food was greasy, bland food, took ages to arrive, only plus was it was still hot and the curry sauce was nice. Shame really.

Pork instead of chicken. Very bland.

I wasn’t home so it’s was cold when I arrived home. I requested a specific time on purpose but it was ignored

So we had to wait nearly 2 hours for it to come and it was all cold not nice at all

The food when it arrived was luke warm at best, the fried rice was burnt and the curry was tasteless. We knew it was going to be an hour for delivery so when it eventually arrived it was an even bigger disappointment.

We have bought from Rugby House for years,even though until recently we had to collect,it has always been exceptional but last night we ordered as our family were over staying,it was so disappointing,the pork sweet and sour didn’t have pork in about 50% of the balls and very little sauce.I had the chow mein,very little sauce and bland and the prawn crackers were mostly over cooked and inedible.The chicken sweet and sour was not a lot better.I was embarrassed after raving about the food from you.
