Ruchi Tandoori in Arun

Very disappointing. After using Ruchi for many years we would not go anywhere else. Lat week we were told we’d receive our takeaway within an hour but in fact after calling it was a couple of hours. This week we should have had a vegetable curry to go with the chicken biryani but got a tikka missala sauce. Can’t keep phoning every week to moan so going to go elsewhere. What a shame

I got the munchies one night and decided to treat myself. I really wanted Southern Fried Chicken but don’t know if Uber work in the area to do home deliveries so as I had their menu, Ruchi were the ones that did English type food. I phoned up to place my order, 'Fried Chicken & Chips' and said I would collect. I did ask how many pieces of chicken I was going to get for my money (£8.) They said six or seven, which I thought was quite a lot for the money! On return home I found a Styrofoam box full of chips, (cheap French fries which were then soggy… so had to put them in frying pan to crisp them up) and the promised 6 or 7 pieces of chicken.. but not Southern fried with a coating, just pan fried cubes, which tasted of curry! Basically I had paid £8 for a few bits of chicken which I could have cooked at home, at a fifth of the price and a large box of fries which were virtually inedible. NOT GOOD FOOD OR VALUE FOR MONEY. (Maybe I should have had a curry instead as they seem to have good reviews, but I had had a home made one the night before and at £16 after you have factored in ‘extras’ is too much for my budget.) No wonder I don’t go to take away places often!

We have been ordering with Ruchi for a number of years, however last night the chef got our orders terribly wrong. We always order number 32 on the menu which is GARLICKY chicken which is supposed to be MILD DELICATE BUTTERY CREAMY CURRY WITH EXTRA GARLIC AS per the menu descriptions. bearing in mind that we have been ordering this dish for years; however what we got last night was not creamy nor buttery. They gave us a tomato based dish and tried to pass this as creamy. I mean you can clearly see and taste tomato certainly no cream or butter. My husband took them back which they took inside and supposedly made two other garlicky for us however when he got home it was still not a creamy buttery dish. It looked like they just took the same takeaway and tweaked it but still NOT GARLICKY DISH. We couldn’t be bothered at this time to take it back again hence the negative review. Waste of time. If they advertised something as creamy/buttery with extra garlic then it should reflect in the dish. We were very disappointed with this. We were late to eat our dinner as we have to wait to get all the food together. I am not sure if we will be ordering again from Ruchi or find another takeaway. We tried to support our local takeaway but this was really disappointing and expensive. If they had run out of cream then they need to tell their customers while ordering or if their chefs are not aware of the menu then they need to teach their chefs what a creamy buttery dish looks like. It seems like the chefs has used the same sauce to prepare all of our orders with. All tasted the same tomato sauce full of sugar.

I gave this takeaway a try and it has to be said its the best around. I travel 6 miles and pass a few take aways to use this one. the food is top class and great service.

Really tasty food and good value for money. Ordered a delivery last night for the first time. Will definitely order again.

We were recommended this takeaway, but was very disappointed. The Chicken Tikka in the Badami was very dry, the dish itself was not very tasty, all Naan breads were doughy and the garlic naan had little or no garlic. I'm afraid we'll return to our usual Indian takeaway.

I recently had to vacate my home while the plumber turned off the water and heating for 24 hours. I stayed at the Premier Inn where the restaurant was closed. I went on line to find a local takeaway. Ruchi’s popped up, their website was easy to navigate, the prices were reasonable, the services was very efficient, the food was delicious. In addition the staff were helpful by providing extra foil containers that we could use as plates and all precautions were taken in regard to Coronavirus: masks, social distancing, hand gel etc. I was impressed on ever level. Thank you !

We thought we had found the perfect take away until the last visit,don’t know what happened but had to throw both meals in the bin food was awful,have they changed ownership,chef I don’t know but food was dreadful,won’t be going back.

Since the elmer closed down i have struggled to find a great takeaway similar. This was my first time trying this shop and i have to say it was just like the elmer! (Which by the way was amazing) Korma is perfect the onion bhajees arent too crispy and they haven’t got any added cloves and things like the other one, again perfect. Yes it took an hour and half to arrive but it’s a Saturday night and the food was still hot and delicious was totally worth the wait and im glad i tried the place. Which is why im also adding 5 stars

Ordered a takeaway last week and as it was so good ordered another this week and we were not disappointed. We ordered on line both times and selected a time and on both occasions it arrived on time. The curries are generous and very good. We gave up buying takeaways in as we were always disappointed and quality inconsistent from a well known curry house in Bognor........ hence why we tried Ruchi.

Fresh and not greasy or swimming in Ghee. Really nice. We had a mixture of starters and mains. It was tasty and spicy but not ridiculously hot. I would definitely buy again

My partner and I ordered a takeaway from Ruchi on Sunday 26th April for my birthday. Very friendly and efficient telephone service and it was delivered in 45 minutes as stated when we ordered. We had two curries and a few side dishes with nan, rice and poppadoms. It was absolutely delicious! The best indian ever! Every single dish was full of flavour and perfectly cooked - best sag poneer and samosa ever! Thank you for a wonderful treat on an unusual birthday!

We ordered a takeaway Weds night, it came quickly and was hot, I ordered a garlic chilli delight and my girlfriend a lamb byriani. There was lots of food but the taste was not to our liking, my dish tasted sweet, like suger was added, and my girlfriends byriani was tasteless with the rice having the same sweet taste. Not impressed as people do seem to like the food. We normally go to the Elmer tandoori which had changed hands recently, but has now sadly closed. So now on the lookout for another takeaway.

Just ordered a king prawn dish and a chicken Naga with all the side orders. 10 out of 10 guys. It was the nicest curry i have had since living in Elmer sand. All, please try this curry house as it is second to none. The Layne.

We are staying in the area so we found Ruchi on-line. The food was ready on time and still very hot by the time we got home. All the dishes were tasty with quality ingredients. We will definitely use them again

Easy to use online and you get a discount! Not pricey! Amazing food was throughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend and use again and again!

Myself and my work friends use this take away once a month after a long shift! We order on average £40-60 worth and it’s always delivered piping hot, tasty and in great time! I would highly recommend this Indian!

Can’t believe we’ve not found this restaurant before! This is the best ‘Indian’ food for miles. Forget what is said about a well known restaurant in Bognor; this one blows it out of the water. They also get the order correct when delivering!! We will be using Ruchi from this point on.

Been visiting Ruchi regularly with my husband and parents and have never been disappointed! Best Indian takeaway by far. Always hot, fresh cooked food. Reasonably priced and always on time. I like a curry that isn’t on the menu and they always prepare my passanda madras hot for me!

The most delicious korma I've ever had. I don't eat rice or bread so I order a salad which is always crisp and fresh. 100% recommend.

This is a fortnightly/weekly habit for us. The food here is so delicious, super tasty and they can make the dishes as hot as you like. I Highly recommend this establishment. Enjoy!!

I've tried many places but this is my favourite for an Indian. I've never had a bad meal from here. The curry is lovely, hot and meat aways falls apart. The rice's are packed with whatever you order such as coconut or mushroom. Naan breads are filled with what you order it with such as cheese or chicken tikka. Flavors really good and arrives quick. Good thing is they do English food too for kids or adults who don't like curry. This time round Naan breads a little over done but still tasted good and the rest was lovely.

Hygiene rating 5 at the door. Always good to see. Extensive menu of traditional favourites and specials. 10% discount for collection over £18. I had chicken makhani . Decent portion and great spice blend. Stuffed paratha was huge. Mushroom rice was good as was aloo Gobi and saag paneer sides. The paneer is melted rather than chunks. Will definitely go back again. Glad I've found a decent Indian takeaway in Bognor Regis.

My favourite dish is the Chicken Tikka Naga and pilau rice. I always get to try a bit of my wife and my daughters dishes so have tried a good selection of the food. We also ask for a chilli cheese Naan which is delicious. We always get prompt service here.

Portions were big but just too sweet. All spice/seasoning was lost but the excessive sweetness. Im talking toothachingly sweet, like a dessert. Naan felt a little doughy and undertone for my liking.

First time ordered for takeaway.. delivered on time hot and when started to eat WOW tasty full of flavour, meat tender..defo order again!! Thanks Ruchi!!
