Ruchi in Sunderland

First time trying this food so we asked them to write what was what on the boxes and they did. Simple but nice of them to do. Food was super tasty and would definitely recommend. Big portions, had loads left over for day after. Definitely order again. 🙂

We often order from Ruchi as the food always arrives piping hot and extremely tasty. We were pleasantly surprised this evening when our order was delivered earlier than expected, even better!

Food is ok but we always order a plain tikka chicken wrap and it always comes with salad and mint yoghurt on which we don’t like so ruins the food and most of it gets left

Third time we have ordered from here and each time it just gets better and better. Had the tikka chicken wrap. It arrived before the stated delivery time, was piping hot and the taste was unreal.

Nicest indians in a while , there madras is often spicier than iy should be , this one was perfect

Food was as good as usual but the service was shocking especially since the service is usually fantastic. Excusing themselves as they are too busy to rectify missing items from the order isnt quite good enough. Will take alot for me to consider ordering from Ruchi again. Disappointed from a regular!

Lush food, piping hot only negative thing is they didn’t write on the wraps which one was which, I had a hot & spicy the hubby just had a normal one & we had eaten half of each other’s before we realised we had the wrong one, other than that I couldn’t fault it

The food is good but about 5 times this year they have sent 1 or 2 poppadoms when iv ordered 7 or 8. As the poppadoms are expensive it's not really acceptable to keep happening, the last time they refunded me £5 but that doesnt solve the problem as I was left with 1 poppadom.. Very sad as the food is generally good but had to go elsewhere

unreal food all the time, would recommend the mixed kebab starter the chicken tikka is always booming and the onion bahji is just as good too the boyfriend gets the my kebab thing.

Had everything you would have on a typical menu in the subcontinent, from pooree and parathas to curries. All very decently priced and with big serving portions. And they all taste great!

I buy a meal every Sunday night from here, have done for years so I thought it’s about time I reviewed it. The staff are friendly and polite and the food is delicious. They cook it the way we like it and there’s easily enough for 2 people. It’s £9.50 for the Sunday special, that’s 5 courses, so it’s excellent value. Thoroughly recommend it.

Waited an hour and a half and when the food finally turned up it was in a puddle of grease and all the onion bargies were soggy I rang up and complained she said I would get a refund I’m still sitting waiting for it!

I've not lived in Sunderland long and have tried a lot of the Indian takeaways I thought I'd found the best in spice one and sultans until this one . the good is delicious and the delivery prompt there's nothing I could fault x

All food previously ordered has been very good ,However last nights food was just luke warm when it arrived and had to be heated up in the microwave which is not what you expect when you order a takeaway.

10/10 would definitely order again!

First time ordering from here and I would definitely come back. My order was delivered piping hot and 30 minutes early but a smiley delivery driver. Everything tasted delicious; we had a tikka dansak, chicken korma, keema rice, onion bhajis and a garlic naan. My husband said the bhajis were more bland than others he had but I didn't think so and still demolished the lot!

didnt enjoy any part of the food, delivery was spot on time and food was very hot. Heard amazing things about this place, just not to our usual standard of takeaway, wanted to try somewhere different but will return to our usual. All about individual taste so this is just one persons opinion.

food was amazing, excellent quality and taste, in particular the veggie main was packed with vegetables as opposed to some places which only include onion and potato. food also came early and was still hot to eat. would eat here again and recommend!

Hemos estado utilizando Ruchi por unas pocas semanas ahora. Es probablemente la mejor comida hindú para llevar hemos probado sobre el pasado reciente. Lo que me gusta es el sabor de la comida, que para nosotros no puede ser cuestionada por otros comprada en Sunderland. Me he dado cuenta ahora, ya que están tratando el menú y volver a comidas que hemos disfrutado que el resultado no ha sido el mismo. Está bien, no me malinterpretéis, pero cuando has tenido una comida con un sabor particular que esperan conseguir el mismo. No otra que llevan en la comida. Es a una persona diferente de hacer esa comida, posiblemente, pero la verdad es que no debería ser el caso, ya que debería ser un estándar receta y comidas será la misma independientemente de que se está cocinando.

Wrong order. I ordered chicken tikka and got ordinary chicken. It was very nice but not what I paid for.

Really nice food. Curries aren't masked with coconut & onions etc. They Actually have individual flavour. Even though it was slightly late we had a very large order. Food arrived hit and was very tasty. Dhansak & masala recommend. Lamb starter was very succulent. Been a while since we've had a lovely Indian takeaway in Sunderland, I hope standards don't slip like we've experienced with other places as I'd like to come back.

always collect my order so I've never had the chance to say how amazing your food is , it arrived within 30 mins piping hot and delicious always use Ruchi for an Indians never fails , tasty curry and chicken is really nice thankyou

First time of ordering as normally use sonargow but has gone downhill, this is now a new favourate whoever cooked this food needs a pat on the back also hot and delivered half an hour early 👌

great tikka chicken massalla and mushroom pilau - my favourite Indian takeaway

1st time ordering from here, food was later than stated but we were informed so that was good. Food red hot which was nice. We did order 1 chicken tikka starter and 1 sheek kebab but ended up with 2 chicken tikka, disappointed with that mix up however still nice. Keema naan very stodgy and lack of meat and popadoms not very crispy. Curry was absolutely lovely though, will def give it another go!

They delivered the wrong rice, I realised it back home that it wasn't the regular one, but something with meat in it. As I'm vegetarian, I couldn't it it at all. Really annoying!

Yet again Great food , however dissapointed as on numerous occasions we have had something missed from our order! Hence only 3 stars for service. This time paid for 2 onion salads...and only got one!! Naan bread also not as nice as the many previous, was thick , stodgy and not as well cooked.

Don't think I'll be ordering from here again! The food was so tasteless and the onion bhajis tasted burnt, the chips tasted and felt like they had been reheated, the cheese naan was too cheesy on one side and like a pancake on the other, total waste of money !!

Best Indian takeaway I've had in ages! Fast delivery time and great choice on the specials. Cashew nut Rice and prawn curry were gorgeous.
