Nudo Sushi Box - Sunderland in Sunderland

Not the most attractive or inviting place but I was craving some sushi in a strange town. The mango pancake was super delicious though!

Disappointed to see so much tuna that was past it's best on display. However there were plenty of other choices that looked fresh. We tried the bao buns this time and were very happy. Staff are excellent and the seating options are ideal for a quick bite. Don't worry about not liking seafood there are plenty of vege or chicken options.

Absolutely gorgeous food I love sushi had it in china. Hong Kong not been to Japan unfortunately but so fresh first time but not the last. Top marks so fresh.

My daughter and nipped in here, we didn’t have long to grab some lunch and wanted something quick and relatively healthy. There were so many vegetarian and vegan options, the staff were friendly, the place was basic but clean and ideal for a quick meal. We both agreed that we would return and try some of the other dishes as the food was really good!

Missed 3 meals off and refused to send them out. Have to reorder and pay another delivery.

The quality has gone down and the price has gone up. The last few times I've had sushi there the rice wasn't fully cooked.

Wanted to try before but always in a hurry. Very good value, a good selection of meal options quick friendly service and good value. Will do again next time in Sunderland

Food was dry, bitter and the avocado was brown and mushy.

Lovely food, staff are always friendly. I usually opt for the katsu chicken curry. The selection and options available are great. This is definitely one the best places to eat in Sunderland.

Food was dry, could tell it was the leftover from the day a real shame.

Card machine was broken and I didn't have cash Warmed my food up and poured the curry and then I couldn't be served and food will of then been wasted Asked to pay via just eat for an item that came to the same amount rather then waste the food which then obviously can't be reheated again and she wouldn't let me.

The food from here is always lovely and delivered quickly. Unfortunately this time I wasn’t able to eat half of my sushi box as it came with some sort of pink sauce over the futomakis that I thought was awful lol. Next time I’ll ask for no sauce.

Paying nearly £12 for a duck hoisin sauce box I would expect the meat to be duck not just a lump of fat. Absolute rip off!!!!!

Honestly its the worst sushi I have ever had the misfortune to eat. We picked our favourites and ended up throwing it in the bin... what a waste of money and food. Its not even wheelchair friendly. Door is too narrow, nowhere to sit and even then they charge you extra.

Go here most Sundays and have some really tasty sushi. Ethan is a credit to your team and always polite and very knowledgeable about all things sushi. I will be back.

Came in late during the day and got a Katsu curry to takeaway but was told that there is a bit of a wait on the curry sauce, around 10 minutes - okay no problem at all. Get home, open the "curry" and there's practically no curry sauce in the katsu. Dry as the desert.

The portion size was huge. I was surprised at how long I had to wait to get my salmon teriyaki as it was heated in the microwave. It's also quite expensive to eat there. I would go again as it is clean (I chose to sit inside), the food was fresh and the selection, healthy.

The food was excellent, as expected, but the young server was surly and abrupt.

Really delicious food, hot and cold, to eat in or take away. The staff are really friendly and helpful if you are not a sushi expert.

Nudo really is a good sushi place, good variety of box dishes and bowls, my daughter loves there bubble teas, highly recommend this place so glad when it opened after 1st lockdown, it's stayed open during this 2nd lockdown with all there ppe in place etc, staff are very friendly and helpful when needed 😁🤗😷

Yes, it's the best in Sunderland. Sadly, some of the more adventurous sushi items on the Nudo menu have never been regular features in the Sunderland shop. No fish roe Gunkan, ever, for example, and the lovely lotus root didn't stay long. Seems to have a slightly reduced menu during the present covid19 period, or maybe the they make fewer? Still a treat, especially when you've been in town less often.

Convenient location right in the middle of town. Very nice sushi available here and good range of options. Staff are friendly. I'll just take one mark off because I do think sushi is slightly expensive compared to other options for filling you up (this is everywhere though so not a big criticism of this company/branch) Also there's a seating area upstairs for those who want to avail of the half price Mon/Tue/Wed August offer. :)

The sushi here always tastes really fresh, and the different combinations/selections are very cohesive - overall I love the sushi here! The tables are always clean and tidy too. I’d say it’s borderline overpriced, but not more so than similar establishments. Service is very neutral; the staff does seem to have much enthusiasm for their job or for life in general, but they’re not rude. Also, I find the selection can be a bit lacking here, particularly if you go later in the day.

i went in there for bubble tea reallly so i cant comment on the sushi or anything all i can say is they ran out of bubble tea, stilll managed to get one

Staff could be a little more friendly. Food was lovely, sat upstairs so it was warm as downstairs was freezing.

Great Sushi Place to take away or eat in. The platters are premade but taste like good sushi (not the dry hard sour supermarket pre-packed stuff). The also offer hot dishes, hot teas and milk teas with jelly and red beans paste. Excellent value for good quality sushi and more!

Clean and well presented restaurant offering a good range of healthy meals, snacks and drinks. Staff are welcoming and helpful. There are a lot of American fast food joints located nearby and this restaurant offers a welcome healthy fast food alternative.

I have been a loyal customer since this place opened up , I have used the one in Sunderland and both in Newcastle and Manchester, happy with the products but the Customer service in the Sunderland branch is absolutely shocking , and putting up the prices so the owners can maintain there Millionaires lifestyle as a member of staff commented on I think is disgusting.. 👎🏻 No Stars from me.

I love this sushi place I always go there for lunch if I am close by it or if I am travelling for the day. They offer different sushi types and also they sell bubble tea. The staff is so friendly and professional and also you can eat in or out. I think the food is good and so are the prices but with time it is getting a bit expensive so it is better for the prices to wear as low as they wear when they opened.

Delicious and good quality sushi. The seating area is cool too since it has an upstairs seating area. It's got a really chill atmosphere and the music adds to this.

Suddenly taking the train from Sunderland has become far more pleasurable. This was a real surprise: excellent sushi to eat in or take away - great range of options at remarkably cheap prices.

I go here fairly often and it was as expected. Prices are good, atmosphere is lovely however I wasn’t too keen on the food I got this time. I got the salmon teriyaki rice box but the salmon seemed over cooked and chewy.

I thought the price of the sushi and everything else is spot on. The food is good enough but the sushi wasn't made for you as it is readily available on the shelf. The range can be improved but if you're craving for some good Japanese food in Sunderland then it will do the trick. There's some eating space for you on the top but its slightly crowded as its a small space. In all, worth the money

Pleasant enough place. Sole staff member on dury was friendly and helpful. The sushi/nagiri/sashimi are all pre-prepared and ready boxed. That said the quality seemed good and taste and texture were generally better than other pre-prepared sushi I have eaten. There are also various rice and noodle dishes as well as soups, which all have to be heated in a microwave. I chose a mixed salmon and tuna nagiri - which was fine, and a beef and sweetcorn rice dish which again tasted fine. Nicer than a sandwich, nicer by far than a McDo' or the other fast food fare. Why not make it better though by employing chefs on site to make the sushi to order. Yes it would take longer but.... the taste.....

Friendly and helpful service, the staff are clued up and are more than happy to make suggestions if your stuck on choice. I was served by a girl called mandy and even though she was ran off her feet with it been busy, she still took time to ask me how my food was.

The staff in this store offer the most friendly and helpful service especially 2 in particular - Alex and Mandy. I was greeted when I walked in, they gave recommendations of what I would enjoy. I would definitely visit here again, for the food and for the service.

Always a pleasure to pick up food from this store, whether it be a quick visit during a lunch break or a short stay with friends. Staff are courteous and friendly, keen to help out with any questions and always friendly to boot. It's always so clean in there, the cleanliness levels are kept to a very high standard and the food and drink products are neatly laid out and clearly labelled. Alex and Toni were my servers for this particular visit, working together they made a particularly good team, able to provide a quick service whilst making sure I had everything necessary to enjoy my meal. Going to this store is always the highlight of my day, providing a great variety of tasty foods, and always knowing I'll be greeted with a smile. I would definitely recommend visiting this particular store.
