Ru Cafe in Medway

Waited in the empty cafe for 30 minutes just for the food to come out stone cold.

Food and drinks took ages to come out , when did arrive had a hair in my food , food was also very disappointing, and very overpriced

Ordered food and hot drinks. After 30 minutes nothing had arrived. Complained to staff and they said they would go find out,came back and said it's on its way but no apology. After 35 minutes in total the coffee arrived shortly followed by our food. Tables are so close together that some seats were not usable as you couldn't pull them out due to someone being on the next table. I wouldn't go back

Love this cafe, always a warm welcome , excellent service and the coffee and cakes (which are more times than not on offer) are great.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ru Cafe recently, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, each bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations that enhanced our meal. The atmosphere was cosy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a relaxed, enjoyable evening. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-quality dining experience.

Baked potatoes dried out and small.side salad consists of lettuce and 1 tomato Not worth the money.

Ordered two full English, breakfasts and a toastie, toastie came out quick full English took 30 mins to come out, they clearly forgot our order. We requested updates three times and was ignored. Eventually it came and wasn’t until I requested to see the owner we was offered a free coffee. I won’t be coming back here again food when did come was sub par.

Me and my wife went and had the full breakfast. For £9.99 each, you would expect something pretty good. Mushrooms were the best but only got 2! Hashbrowns not cooked enough still lumpy, beans are tasteless, tomato was peppered so to hot for my wife, eggs where snotty sausage, and bacon was fine. They did have beans in separate bowls, and it was all hot. Apart from the sausage, you might as well go elsewhere for £2 or £3 cheaper and get the same. We would not recommend or be going back.

First time and last time a group of us went to have lunch together but all our foods came so far apart that half of us had finished eating while the rest just started eating how ridiculous They say you get £1.25 off parking if you eat there But they fail to tell you that only if you request it before paying WHAT difference dose it make They can’t be bothered to tell you that piece of information Was one of the worst lunches I have had

Never had any issues here. Served by a lovely lady called Lyn, and my Latte and food has been spot on.

This place was was unfortunately very bad the cups were dirty the food wasn’t nice and the service was bad I would not recommend comming here

Unfortunately, today I had a bad experience in this restaurant. After I ordered 2, not 3 Gammon all-day breakfast, and the manager refunded me the 3rd (because it was his mistake), we had to wait for the food about 1h (unbelievable). When the food came, it was not what we ordered. Which showed they lacked attention to the customer. The manager was very careless with the situation. I will NEVER put my foot in that place again. The time we were there waiting made my day miserable. Because I ended up paying the parking. It was such a horrible experience. I hate that place! 😡

The cooked food was cold in the middle and the chicken burger bun eas burnt. The staff were miserable and seemed like they did not want to be here.

Second time I've been here and had problems again. First time, the food took ages to come out and was bland. Today we thought we'd stop quickly for a hot sandwich but after 25 minutes of no show we had to go up and ask. We were told that they didn't receive the order as if this was our fault somehow. Had to ask for the food to be refunded and left. Will not be back. There's so many workers there but all seem to just be looking busy and not doing anything. I had plenty of time to watch them while waiting.

EDIT: To reply to the owner who commented on my review as it won't let me reply back directly. No, you didn't give me any stamps as I don't use a loyalty card with you and I didn't get any free drinks because I haven't been back to your café since. You clearly had another unhappy costumer who complained about the same issue and I'll bet we are not the only ones. They're all going to be bad quality as none of them ever hold up so most likely all or most of your customers will be unhappy. Food and coffee is nice, the staff are lovely. I've mentioned to the staff before that their takeaway cups are bad. They break apart quickly, you end up drinking cardboard before you can finish your drink if you don't drink quickly enough. I don't always have a takeaway cup on me. I got a coffee from them recently and the cup not only broke apart but a hole just split from the cup and I ended up loosing half the coffee before I was able to finish it and my clothes got coffee all over it and down my arms as I tried finishing the drink while it was leaking coffee everywhere. I tried slowing the flow (which became worse) as I drank it, I lost half the drink before I finished it. We shouldn't have to worry about getting a takeaway and losing half the drink and wasting money.

It's a handy cafe, 2 tea and 2 toast almost £9 for dockside that's a little expensive, otherwise ok

It is nice to see people working together, great atmosphere, after a while you get a free drink which is good. I will recommend to everybody. I just been a regular customer, as I started to work in that area and considering there are other places to eat, the are the best ones in the area. 10/10 😊

Coffee was nice, but the wrap I had was mediocre at best, the toffee muffins were stuck to the paper wrappers and my wife's hot chocolate was insipid at best. Over all it was overpriced for poor quality!

Had lunch here yesterday. Good coffee however we ordered 2 poached eggs on brown bread with chips for two people. We had our coffee and then waited half an hour for the meal and only one arrived. I had to wait another 15 minutes for my meal. The staff looked miserable and harassed. It was not a nice lunch as it should have been and would not recommended it. We will not be going again.

Visited with a friend. We just wanted poached eggs on toast, it should have chips with it(?) but they didn’t have chips. We didn’t even want them at 9:30 in the morning so we said leave them off. We ordered a tea and coffee and it came to over £25. Then they brought the chips anyway!! The staff were nice and the food was good but pretty standard and not worth the money.

The muffins in this place are to die for and the variety of different flavours they have is brilliant, the cloudy lemonade has the most perfect flavour adding different flavoured syrups if you choose to it makes it even more exciting to try! The lovely lady Jade brought my food and drink to me she was very polite and helpful. Thank you for an amazing experience in your cafe!

Lovely staff always helpful never Rush you

scammers, no pay in trial (a few day to a week) and the food is really dusty not suitable for human.

Went in with a family member for breakfast. Had 2 English breakfasts - good amount of food, but both were lukewarm when arrived, with the toast fully cold. Latte was pretty good, but tea was very weak - looks like PG Tips, instead of English Breakfast or something better suited for a pot of tea. Won't rush back, but a decent enough place to eat if you want to sit down. Staff seemed friendly.

Its a nice little cafe inside dockside, however the reason it isnt a 5 stars, is that my bacon and cheese toastie had green stuff inside it(looked like mold). I didnt see it untill i took a bite and tasted funny. I did bring it up to the counter to let them know, i dont like making a fuss about these things as i know what it is like as i work in hospitality as well. The staff though are friendly and welcoming, please check your sandwiches and that to make sure there not all off.

It was a shame that our two breakfasts could not have been brought to the table at the same time. They were served 5 minutes apart, mine got cold eating it slowly waiting for my wife's to arrive. All day breakfast overpriced. Mushrooms were burnt, sausage only 2 and half inches long. Good job I liked crispy overcooked bacon. Managed to cook the egg yolks till they were solid while egg white undercooked (fried eggs)

Replaced the "Down Under" cafe at Dockside. Extensive range of sandwiches, wraps, salads and cakes 🎂. Good value for money and will be going back.

No stars for food as we didn't eat. Speedy taking the order but quite a wait for the drinks to arrive. The atmosphere was pleasant.

I stopped off here for a coffee and poached eggs on toast. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 ⭐️ was it was slow even though it wasn’t busy. That said, the staff serving were very polite.

Always eat here after discovering it in dockside outlet! Lovely freshly cooked food, great service and lovely hard working staff. Thank you Ru Cafe

Nice milkshake and a salmon egg with hollandaise sauce

My husband and I we used this Cafe for the first time in Dockside,on the 5/5/.2022, we was very impressed, didnt know they due Gluten free foods, which pleased me, table service was eexcellent, customer service was 100%. staff very smiley and polite, we will be using this Cafe again, Well done to the staff there.

Popular Australian themed cafe, well frequented at most times of day, especially lunchtime, good value, tasty, always fresh snacks, mainly based on panini's, good quality coffee, reasonable prices, staff prompt, friendly & efficient, can get very busy at times, but have usually been able to find a table. Unfortunately permanently closed during COVID lockdowns

I found the food really lovely I had 2poached eggs on toast with chips the eggs were great to dip my chips in .The victoria sponge was lovely. The only negative thing for me was the cleanliness. I wanted a table round the corner and the previous customers trash was all all the free tables and we had to move rubbish from our table and it was dirty not cleaned.
