Being a Saturday night both restaurant and takeaway were busy, but, despite being short staffed we were served quite quickly to perhaps one of the tastiest meals we've enjoyed in ages. We went for the " set meal for two option " which was a great choice. We were even allowed to alter a couple of items to suit our tastes. Thankyou and we will return soon.

This restaurant is permanently closed now. I assume COVID did for it. Drove past yesterday, all of the furniture is gone and the property appears to be for lease. Shame too...

So fed up. No problem with the food but aware that they don’t stick to the opening hours so always phone ahead to check on closing. Once again tried to place an order 40 minutes before they said they were closing and they’re shut. Local Chinese won’t do that so we will go there instead.

Find this takeaway very hit or miss. Sometimes really, really good, and the next time you would not believe its from the same place. Sometimes the chicken can be very sparse or chewy and almost inedible. Next time its lovely. Don't know if they try and cut costs by buying cheaper ingredients but going by the other reviews this might be an issue. Then you go back next time and its different altogether. Really hit or miss.

Staying in Cullen for the week I refuse to cook, so takeaway it is, 4 out of the 7 nights we had a curry from the Royal Tiger. Staff were really helpful & friendly, it was nice to be greeted like friends when we came back the following nights. Staff extremely knowledgeable in helping us pick a new curry. Currys were so delicious that we even bought one to take home for after our holiday.

I ordered a dinner wrap which was little more than awful and got binned was microwaved donner meat dryed cardboard would be more appetising. And also a chicken and vegetable pizza which looked and sounded good as I asked for no pineapple but that request was ignored as it’s premade mix of vegetables and pineapple along with a shop bought pizza base which was as dry it was inedible and to be expected to pay £15.90 for this farce of a meal utter joke

After an 8 hour drive it was useful to have this on the door step. The food we ordered was fantastic. Ready in 15 minutes. You can also eat in as there are a number of tables to eat at. The restaurant was very clean. Our only downside was the price. Main meal prices were charged at restaurant rates even though we had take away. It would have been rated 5 if price was more reasonable. We will go again before we home.

restaurant was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and helpful however the food was awful! Bland and tastelss, tikka masala had hardly any chicken and was mostly just sauce with a weird texture, daughter binned it and had a frozen curry from lidl instead! chicken pakora were tiny, dry and tasteless, veg pakora were just fried onion. rice was edible, curries were like chicken caserole, no flavour or spice. naan bread was undercooked. best bit was the pakora and spicy onions, hard to go wrong there really!

Went in last Friday night for a pre-ordered Chicken Tika Masaka and a Garlic naan and rice. The Chicken Tikka Masala was aweful. it was dry and lumpy and had a very bland flavour. The Gatlic Naan was cold and hard and had no flavour the only part that was of an acceptable standard was the rice It was daylight robbery at £15.50 for one meal.

Ordered a carry out vegetable Korai and a vegetable Korma - they contained what looked like a bag of cheap frozen carrots and peas - certainly no peppers, tomato or fresh herbs as described in the menu. Even if it did have meat in it, still wouldn't have made up for these sub-standard sauces. On to the over-priced Pilau rice - more like boiled with a couple (and I mean a couple)of red grains accidentally dropped in. As for the Naan - dried out and crispy, not the plump, soft naan we were expecting. Only decent thing was the side of Sag Aloo, obviously not made at the same time as the rest of the effort. For the price, I expected a higher standard of ingredients, especially for a vegetarian dish, as vegetables are not expensive - at the very least, the ingredients they list in the menu! Very disappointed with this take away.

Went here midweek. We had the restaurant to ourselves and were allowed to bring our own beer as they do not have an alcohol license. We started with poppadums which were freshly cooked and came with 4 dips. We then moved onto the main course. We ordered pilau rice which was light and fluffy, a side order of skinny fries, one keema nan which had just been made and the two curries to share. We picked a chicken madras and a chicken naga. The naga was volcanic just how we like it! Both were full of flavour with tender chicken and veg. I class myself as a bit of a curry expert and think that this may possibly be the best yet!

Three of us went to the Royal Tiger on a Saturday night. We took wine with us because we knew the restaurant doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol. We also knew that the main emphasis of the place is on takeaway food, so the eating area is relatively small. The restaurant menu has a good range of reasonably priced Indian sub-continent food and Thai dishes. We chose and shared Indian dishes, all of which were very well prepared and flavoured. The service was excellent and we'll definitely go back on our next trip to Cullen.

Bien. We spent the weekend in Cullen and were keen to try the take away service at the Royal Tiger, until we noticed that they had a small area to eat in. We had a fantastic meal - quality first class - surroundings were just ok - you did feel that you were sitting in a take away. The menu classed the rice as large - so ordered 3 rice between the 3 couples - but had to order more as the rice portions were not large. That being said it didn't detract from a fantastic meal - they brought us extra rice very quickly indeed.

Have given 4 stars for the quality of the food and cleanliness. Visited with 2 friends who really like Indian food, although I am not keen. However as it is advertised as serving pizza I thought I would have one. When asked for menu showing English dishes was told that the pizzas are only for takeaway. Really don't understand why I couldn't have one sat at a table. Ordered chicken korma, as not spicy and did enjoy it. I really did want a pizza. Very limited drinks available. Does seem to be more popular as a takeaway than a restaurant. Also to cap it off there were a couple of kids running riot around the place whilst parents (?) waiting for takeaways.

Found this to be, basically a take away with a few tables squeezed tightly together. The first problem was asking for a glass of wine, only to be told they are not licensed. So why have wine glasses on the table? The starter was quite good, but the main meal was sickly sweet. My wife ended up leaving more than three quarters of her meal, I left about half. I purchased a take away to try this restaurant based on the reviews it has received. I have trouble believing this was the same restaurant. I am a Glaswegian and pride myself in having some ideas as to how a good curry should taste. What I purchased was not even a curry, more like a stew my mother would make and she only used pepper. I had a bhuna lamb which turned out to be a dead ringer for one of my mothers stews. Bhuna should be a dry curry with virtually no sauce. My wife had chicken curry which contained left over chicken kebab in some kind of soup. Speaking of soup, the tarka dhal was just that but without the lentils??Anybody who can compare this food favourably with a Glasgow curry must have lived in a cave or undergone some kind of taste lobotomy.

My husband is a big fan of Indian food, so we were pleased when this restaurant opened in Cullen (although not so pleased about the ugly, unsympathetic changes to the building - Victorian door and frontage gone! - isn't Cullen meant to be a conservation area?). We went for a meal on a Saturday evening. It was very quiet (always a bad sign!) and we got a lukewarm reception from the staff. Food had a rather 'chemically' taste - didn't seem authentic, according to my husband. (To be fair, although he claims to be a gourmet, he can't tell the difference between lemon and orange!) Also very pricey for what it was.

We came on a short visit to Cullen and there wasn't many places open to eat out, maybe as it was the end of March and the season not yet started. Having frequented many Indian Restaurants over the years we have to say this has been one of the poorer, if not the poorest ever. The spiced onions were dried and finely chopped with no spice taste whatsoever. The Kashmir Chicken - tasteless. Chicken Tikka was bland, and we had to add pakora sauce to the curry sauce to make it taste edible. The pashwari nan thin and crispy definitely not like any nan we had tried before. I think as there is not many places available to choose from in Cullen, there is the opportunity for any eaterie to be successful, so maybe take this critique as constructive.

Have eaten once in the restaurant and had a couple of takeaways from the Royal Tiger. The food was lovely every time and I certainly recommend it. What lets it down is the interior decoration which looks cheap and plasticky and the lighting is far too bright. I know, it's a big claim for a tiny town, but trust me, I'm a curry addict and I know the real deal. We have dined there twice since it opened and each meal has been consistenly brilliant. Exquisite is the correct word. Beautifully prepared, fresh ingredients, wonderful - simply wonderful! - flavours and service (by the proprietor) which was friendly, relaxed and genuinely eager to serve If you're just passing through or if you're a local, check it out. You will thank me a million times over if you do.

Took my husband for a birthday treat and although we were a bit phased by lack of licence and no card facilities that was quickly sorted out by a visit to the local shop and cash dispenser! Glad it didn't put us off the food was lovely, atmosphere informal and staff attentive! Will definitely recommend friends and be back!

Decided to have a night in and elected to have food from here. I have a pizza and my mum had a Thai curry. Pizza was ok (base a bit undercooked for my taste). My mum enjoyed her curry but again thought the nann was a bit undercooked.

My wife and I went for a meal last night and were pleasantly surprised very attentive staff and beautiful food my wife had a lamb dish and I had chicken it was perfectly cooked the meat was moist and the sauce exactly what it said on the menu, Yes the place is bright and it is a little draughty when the door is open but thats only minor points the food and service more than made up for itGreat value for money we will be returning.

Good food and very clean restaurant but also many negative which we experienced tonight. Staff were over attentive (they came over to out table six times during our main course) which just became annoying, looks like an American diner inside, was very cold, could hear quite a bit of kitchen noise from our table, drinks were served in the 500ml plastic bottles and there was no prior warning that they do not accept card.

Only in its 3rd night of opening and the place was out the door with people, counted a good 35-40 in the space of 30 mins. It was worth the wait though, food is excellent and reasonably priced for the area. Shop is clean, we'll presented and staff seemed nice and hard working. Once the gremlins are ironed out it'll be a smashing wee takeaway in a lovely wee town. Keep up the initial level!

I had the pleasure of eating here on the night they opened for business - Wednesday 15th January this year. One might think that things would be a bit chaotic on "first night" but not a bit of it! The staff could not have been nicer, the food was excellent and the prices very reasonable indeed. It's a long time since I enjoyed such quality in an Indian restaurant - and my wife enjoyed it so much she is going back next week with a group of eight!

I am GF and Dairy free. We are a family of 4. I asked if there was anything GF on the menu and was told " no we don't do that anymore " . I decided to try chips hoping I will be OK after beef dripping. £25 for fish and chips , 2 kids meals and 1 portion of chips. Locals served before us. We were on holiday. Avoid if you have allergies.

As someone one else has pointed out, it’s now called the Spey Inn. Was there earlier this week for lunch as in area and parents recommended it from a visit a year or so ago. It was quiet but we got a friendly welcome from the two members of staff. My parents commented on the size of the menu which has apparently changed and did seemed limited in choices. 3 of us ordered the Cullen Skink soup. It tasted fine but not much fish ands lots of potatoes. Three of us then had sandwiches, the Club sandwich was very good, well filled with bacon, tomato etc and was tasty. Me and my mum both had the egg mayonnaise sandwich. It looked different in that it was 2 whole slices of toast which I thought may have been included in the description. That said I can live with this, however what was very unusual and disappointing was the quantity of filling in these two sandwiches. It appeared that there was a smear of egg mayo as in the quantity of butter you would spread on a slice of bread (and in this case it was spread onto 2 slices of thick toast). Without exaggerating it appeared that 1 egg had been used to fill 2 sandwiches . The salad that accompanied it was nice and the fish and chips the other member of our group had was apparently good. We did mention it to the server who said he’d mention our views to the chef, but it just seemed odd. We also mentioned to a member of staff at an early stage of our visit, that there was no soap in the gents toilets (you could clearly see the soap dispenser was empty when you walked in), however when leaving some time later this had not been rectified, despite the fact the restaurant was not busy. It wasn’t a cheap lunch and it was fairly disappointing overall. Unless this was a one off, don’t think I would return.

Excellent in every way! We ate here 4 times in 4 days, 2 lunches and 2 evening meals. Good is fresh, delicious and decent portion sizes. The “Specials” truly live up to their name. Particular highlights included mussels in white wine sauce, haddock goujons and the brisket. 3 of us are coeliac and they provided us with an allergens menu. They had run out of GF bread/rolls some days but kindly allowed us to use our own. Service was friendly and staff happy to answer/clarify and queries we had. Small wine list with lovely choices to suit the cuisine. Highly recommended!
