Extremely snobbish and offensive staff, particularly the Senior Membership Executive, sneers and talks down to people without knowing their background. To be avoided.

I may be biased as a new Member. This slot contains restaurant reviews, those on overnight accommodation etc. I found it cheap at the price and food of a standard which would not disappoint In any 4* hotel, let alone one so central and just nest to The Ritz where one can stay at 4 times the price. The cultural activities are wonderful. Having looked at previous reviews, some of which might have been valid 8 years ago, I would warn that this is a Grade 1 Listed Building, and by its nature can not be made friendly to those who are significantly impaired.

This members only club offers something for everyone. They have coffeeshops, restaurants, entertainment rooms etc. I particularly love coming here when I’m spending time with friends and want to have some privacy whilst still enjoying myself. It also works for business meetings as the environment is low key and elegant.

This was a great spot to meet old friends over a long, pleasant lunch. It's not somewhere you'd go for a casual meet (unless you are reasonably well-to-do) but as a once in a while treat, in comfortable surroundings, it's ideal. Service was attentive and there was no pressure to give up our table once we had eaten. From the garden at the back, you have the same view over Green Park as you do from the Ritz next door, but without the crowds.

It doesn’t get any central than this. Walking distance from Picadilly, Regent St, Oxford St, London’s famous Westend. We checked in during the wee hours of the morning and Martin from the front desk personally helped us with our luggage. He was always there to lend a helping hand with all our requests. A special mention to the staff at breakfast Letizia, Betty and Padmanaban. All on point, extremely attentive and intuitive. Great service with a smile to brighten up a rainy day. Can’t wait to return.

If you want to have a nervous breakdown, hold your party at ROSL. A passive aggressive Eastern European female in a bodycon dress & stilettos will initially tell you that your event – a ‘standing tea reception’- will be accessible for disabled guests. No paperwork will be produced until ten days before the event, when a six page contract appears together with a demand for a 50% deposit .At that stage she will add that there are no easily accessible disabled toilet faciilties from your booked venue. ‘Traditional afternoon tea tableware’ will prove to consist, on the day, of slates, black plastic food stands & - to crown the occasion – trifle served in an orange cast iron oven dish. The week of the event you will be emailed about a dress code which you are told to notify to all your guests, invitations having been sent out weeks before. The area where the party is being held has not been properly cleaned and has a protruding piece of flooring which nearly causes a waitress to trip. At an after party drink with some of your guests the waiter calls one of them ‘mother’, to general astonishment. Member for 40 years.

Have stayed and dined at ROSL a number of times over the last year and found the whole experience a real pleasure. The Park View rooms do have excellent views over Green Park and are extremely good value for money. The location of ROSL, off St James, is second to none. The food is high quality, especially the breakfast, and the service very friendly and helpful. Overall I don't think you could do better in this location even for a substantially high price.

We've been coming to the ROSL for probably 20 years. We love it and look forward to every time we are in London. What a lovely surprise this year to find that they have remodeled the room now called the "1910" room. Breakfast is now being served in this gorgeous room and we've enjoyed 2 dinners in the evening. The food has been delicious and the ambience is perfect. A nice change from the hustle and bustle out on the streets. Every facet of the staff have been so accommodating. We couldn't have been treated any better anywhere. Thank You!!

Third stay here, this time by myself, so did not need a "Park View" room. What I was not told on booking was that the alternative type of room was not "street view", it was "air vent". I agree with every comment from the earlier review - room not ready on arrival, housekeeping not performed yet guest not told of that on check in, very snobbish treatment by staff, to the extent that when my TV remote did not work, the staff member who came to look at it saw that the TV was "on", and told me I was wrong. I had to ask him to show me how to get a different channel before he agreed that the remote did not work. But what ruined the stay for me was lack of sleep due to a massive industrial size air extractor, generating 100+ decibels coming on and off in the middle of the night - possibly from the underground parking garage nearby, possibly from ROSL's own basement, which was right below my single pane window at the bottom of the airshaft. I have sent three emails now to management asking for some explanations and they have been ignored. Very disappointing, because when I joined the club, I was looking forward to enjoying "belonging" to a luxury establishment in the nicest part of London. The lack of management response is the most disappointing...usually when customers point out a problem, they are simply seeking understanding of that problem by management, but this failure would indicate that problems stem from the top.

I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, as it was the first time I was booking a reciprocal club overseas. The best part is its central location in St. James, right around the corner from the Ritz. Also, the porters were very helpful, especially flagging down cabs. Other than that, my stay was rather mediocre. The issues were: -because I was on a redeye from the U.S., I booked the hotel for the night before, understanding that meant I had to pay for an entire extra night just to get a few hours sleep in the morning before my afternoon business meetings. They had the booking, but the room was NOT ready. Presumably, it should have been ready from 3:00 p.m. the previous day. They temporarily gave me a room with a single bed when I had reserved a king, and that was awful. It was right up against a wall, and I hit my head while I turned. The room they moved me in in the afternoon was fine, and the bed was above average but not great. -after my first long day, I came back to the room in the evening and housekeeping had not come. They told me that they were doing housekeeping only every other day, but they neglected to tell me that when I checked in so I could plan. -the one day that housekeeping did come, they left two dirty coffee cups half full with cold coffee, and all the garbage from my having made coffee two straight mornings. -the place has a shabby feel to it, though I suppose that might be common to private clubs. -No one told me anything about amenities when I checked in, so the first night I avoided the bar/restaurant, because it had a big "Members Only" sign in front. When I finally asked the following night, they said everyone was welcome. -one point off to hotels who persist in those silly hangers that you have to thread into a pre-existing ring on the closet pole, I suppose so hanger thieves don't run rampant. It's not only insulting, but it is a big time waster when you take the hanger off and have to put it back on. -they finally took the first night's charge off the bill, but it was way more difficult than it should have been. Will this put me off London clubs? Probably, but I hope others who don't mind some of the above won't be discouraged - it was reasonably priced, and as I said the location is amazing.

Our room is brilliant and the bed is fantastic and the bathroom is spotless with great windows overlooking Green Park. I love the breakfast in the morning in a great room and attentive staff and the interesting people that walk in. Who are they? What stories do they have to share? The pens and note pads have disappeared for now, but I have been assured that they will be back and boy do the pens write well! One of ouir friends of 60+ years' standing was visiting from South Africa and invited us for lunch at the ROSL. What a delightful old world atmosphere amid the bustle of west end london. I was most impressed with the diversity and inclusive policies of the staffing which clearly provides opportunities for many of the disaadvantaged to obtain gainful employment (altough some had clearly been rushed into the front line without adequate training -- not knowing what bitter beer is and finding that one other bar pump was empty. We had a beautiful lunch served with great aplomb and much cheerful banter betywen the staff and the clientele staff. The price was very reasonable in this not-for-profit organization and much lower than nearby commerciaI establishments. I very much regret to see two negative and clearly biased and subjective reviews by inexperienced Trip Adviser contributore (1 and 6 reviews) which bear no relation to reality.

This is the most discriminatory and racist place situated in the best London location. You will be treated as bad as can be by the front office manager in charge of all. At the breakfast you will see a dictator ( in the place of manager ) “kicking” all the scared staff around. All frustrated people hating their job and taking it on anyone visiting that is not older than 80 years old. But the location is just amazing. Other than that everything is perfect!

RACIST!!!! THIS PLACE DOES NOT LIKE BROWN OR OTHER COLOURED BACKGROUND !!!!! I went there with couple of friends 22nd Jan. Third visit. Have always noticed something very weird. How the BROWN boy gets left behind and seems to be served last all the time…. Even though I could see my meal is ready and waiting. But seems to be my other friends who are Caucasian gets it’s first… At first I thought maybe I’m being silly so thought I’ll wait and see how it goes with main and dessert …. To my surprise ! It was me served last again …. And this has happened on all my visits …. Another incident which one of my friend had picked up was when the waiter came and poured the Drink (two of us having the same). Only one glass was filled. And guess what?? It was not mine. Very outdated and pathetic to be treated like an outcast in the 21st century! I hope the manager or the owner gets to read this !!! THANK YOU!!!

Had an excellent meal (buffet) in the meeting area a hearty steak pie with vegetables great coffee and was surprised at the service from the staff very professional. The club has rooms and although I did not stay others were more than complementary.

Went to tea at the Ritz and was not impressed. The scones were not good and not really scones. Ch and F&M offer better tea experience. Table setting and chairs were very cramped. Service was just ok.

Pret is always my go-to for semi-healthy and fresh lunch on the go when I am in the city. Their coffee is good, and I love their hot meatball wrap.
