Royal Oak Pub in Barnsley

Absolutely amazing place to put your head down lovely staff to unfortunately we where here for a funeral so five stars from me

First time having a carvery food food was delicious and good value for money, staff were helpful and friendly. Only downside for me was outside to the seated garden area was not accessible a disabled person using a mobility scooter

Llamamos aquí regularmente para asados de domingo. Es muy agradable, y si no son de buen comer como yo puede tener una pequeña por £5. Se pone bastante concurrida si vas a 12. 00 así que mejor reservar. Es el 12. 00:00 - 3. 00:00 h.

Hice mi boda de noche aquí para 55 personas el 26 de marzo. Liz había delimitado el pub con banderas y globos. Una vez más, el buffet era insuperable, como de costumbre. Era un peso en mi mente sabiendo que la comida sería bueno, y todo el mundo hablaba de lo agradable que era. La música era buena y adecuada para todos los gustos. El personal del bar era agradable y rápido. nos lo pasamos muy bien, lo que hizo que mi día de la boda un día para recordar. Gracias de nuevo Liz y personal para una gran noche

Este es nuestro pub local, que es muy amable. Visitamos esta noche para la cena, nos lo Scampi, que siempre es agradable y abundante - no lo barato cosas - que venía con patatas, guisantes y ensalada. No teníamos habitación para uno de sus postres, que son también muy bien. Todas las comidas en el menú están muy bien y a un precio razonable. Este pub es una visita que vale la pena, la que sirven comidas jueves-Sábado y Domingo carvery.

Travelled a good half an hour to hour to enjoy this lovely place only to find out they only serve food Thursday, Friday and Saturday !!!

We attended a 60th Birthday Party on a Saturday night. The car park is a reasonable size so no parking problems.The pub was nice and warm and the buffet was excellent. All the food was fresh and very tasty. There was lots of variety, I couldn't fault it. The atmosphere was very good and the beer was reasonably priced. A good night out.

I thought I was being taken out for a meal for my 60th birthday and my partner said we will go to Royal Oak for a drink first. What a surprise I got when we walked in and all my family and friends where there. As usual Liz the landlady had put a great spread on and decorated the pub with balloons. After speaking to people they all said how nice the food was and there was plenty of it. Great night Liz.

I booked the Royal Oak pub for my partners 70th birthday. The buffet was excellant with plenty of choice, even nice dripping. The price is very reasonable, couldn't do it cheaper myself. The landlady should be proud of her self. The music that the land ladies daughter did was also good. Would defanatly reccomend Royal Oak for any party.

We regularly visit the royal oak as the price for the quality of food is second to non, if anything I would say they rip themselves off giving you veg as well as chips, where in most places its one or the other, we generally have the meals that are part of the buy 2 for £5-£8, the farmhouse mixed grill is very nice & my girlfriend loves the liver & onions as well as the lasagne, and her daughter loves there curries. We visited last week on Sunday to try out there carvery and they didn't disappoint, it's a little gem of a place which I would imagine is relatively unknown to anyone outside of platts common & hoyland. Deffo worth a visit and I'm sure once you have been you will return, better than paying for a takeaway any day of the week.

If you want to try some good home cooked food then the Royal Oak is for you. There is a variety of meals, some 2 for £8 and some 2 for £10. There is always plenty on your plate so you won't come away hungry. They also have a specials board which sometimes has game casserole or game pie, can recommend both. Liz, the landlords wife, does all the home cooking and even the sweets are home made. Apparently the beer is very good as well. The landlord Stuart and his wife Liz are always welcoming and friendly.
