Popped in for lunch... had the smashed burger and chips. REALLY good food. The chips were amazing. Service very friendly and very quick. Will definitely return!

First visit to this beautiful pub. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Sunday roast was delicious, plenty of meat and veg served with roast potatoes and mash which we loved.. Excellent value for money with large portions. A beautifully cooked homemade roast. Highly recommend.

Well the new owners have settled in and the food is back on, and I have to say it is “superb pub food” I had the home made lasagna which was simply delicious and wifey had the steak in ale pie (proper chips!) which looked equally good! Well done. Dog friendly with lots of atmosphere 👍

We popped in on our way to narrowboat. It has just been taken over. The atmosphere was great. Very busy. Not serving food currently.

Popped in after a visit to the Nation Memorial Arboretum. Never be here before but what a find. Wow amazing food great portion sizes and absolutely value for money. We live a good 20 miles away but would happily travel to eat there again.

We stopped in on the way home to the next village. Pizza was beautiful. Pub was busy as the sun was out and the staff were polite cheerful and looked after us well. Perfect little pub, spotless and clean, cozy and comfy. Will definitely be back!

First time been in the Royal Oak and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The service from Joe was excellent and he made you feel at home. The food was really good and was reasonably price. Overall I would revisit the pub again and would highly recommend

Visited recently lovely starter .garlic mushrooms. Perfect not overpowered with garlic and very well presented. Not a lot of choice for veggies. I wanted the sausage and mash but they had non . Good job we eat fish and chose the salmon . We don't like chilli sauce but they kindly obliged and did as we like . Pan fried and no sauce . Chips ok but would have been nice to have option of veg not just pees.overall decent meal well presented and reasonable price . Would I go again ? Yes . Nice dining room decent beer . Firstly let me put this into context.. it was a busy sunny Bank Holiday, but....

Visited this afternoon on a busy sunny bank holiday. Only two staff on but boy were they on the ball. A bit of a wait but we were warned of this on arrival as so busy but well worth it when the food arrived. Not sure they expected so many people to turn up but they coped wonderfully. Do have to say that the park which serves the pub and the adjoining coop is nowhere near big enough.

A lovely pub with good food, very tasty. There was a reasonable choice for vegetarians. Friendly wait staff. The only downside was that the service was a little slow.

Called in with my cousin when visiting her. As it was a glorious day we sat outside but inside looks tasteful if a little on the dark side.

The Royal Oak on the main road in Kings Bromley is a well set up pub on the main road through the village. The service was quick and friendly and the gammon with (2) fried eggs and sides was large, well presented and the tastiest gammon I have tasted in years - probably since my last visit! My wife could not finish her gammon and there was sufficient left for her next meal. The tasty local beers were a great way to wash it all down. We were too full to attempt the puddings, which sounded equally delicious. I was told the gammon is supplied locally, and I wish we had not been mid journey and could have bought some to cook later. A highly recommended pub.

This is a welcoming pub which does what might be considered a limited menu but concentrates getting its food just right. We called in early on a Saturday evening having booked (would recommend that!) and were seated near the wood stove - much appreciated on a chilly day. My whitebait starter was crisp and flavoursome with a generous quantity of greenery - my wife enjoyed it too! My main course was a chicken, ham and leek pie in a delicate pastry again with bags of flavour and a rich gravy. My wife went for the burger and was greatly impressed by the quality of the meat. No space for pudding I am afraid but our glasses of wine were very good value at around £3.50 each. Would certainly return there!

An inpromtu visit last night resulted in me enjoying the best pizza I have had in the UK. If you get the opportunity I urge you to try one. Either eat in (fantastic friendly service) or pick up a takeaway and wait in the lounge area or beer garden. They have an impressive range of gins and beers or you can enjoy a soft drink or coffee if driving home with your pizza - I defy you not to start eating before you get home. I am looking forward to finishing the last couple of slices for my lunch later. My fellow diners also raved over their meals. The owners celebrated their first anniversary with their loyal customers on Saturday and I can see why they have been so successful.

A very nice friendly local pub. Used this pub couple of nights as was working local, no problems getting seated and was a very nice selection of food and the food I did have was first class and the great touch was the chef coming to my table to make sure all was ok. Very happy customer

Easter sunday and we had a lovely table by the fire! Nice atmosphere and welcoming and friendly staff offering great service, food choice was varied and tasty and most importantly when out as a family......good value! We'll be back!

We visited the Royal Oak on the recommendation of the owners of theB&B; where we were staying while visiting our son who was working locally.

Visited here yesterday with friends. The serving staff were really friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Stop at the Royal Oak for a meal as passing. Greeted by staff who quickly found us a table even though it was Bank Holiday Sunday. A well designed and pleasant dinning room with a great atmosphere. The meal arrived in a surprisingly quick time and was excellent. The staff where very pleasent.

Nice pub inside and waitresses very keen to help The menu is a bit limited and disappointed with the lack of vegetables with the main courses

Popped into pub for drink, looking at food being served couldn't resist ordering ourselves. Ordered fish & chips (should have been described as a whale!!), better half ordered scampi. Sat by a roaring fire and thoroughly enjoyed the meal which was flaky fish & home made chips. Scampi was of similar quality.

The current mangers moved into this pub about a year ago and in my view they’ve done a pretty good job. The place is light and airy with a modern feel and the menu offers good value pub food. Burgers, fish and chips and a selection of home made pizzas feature. Everything I’ve tried has been good and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. All in all this is a nice, modern pub, that delivers just what you would expect.

Had a fantastic impromptu Sunday lunch here two weeks ago, cannot fault the beautiful food and very accommodating staff. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the refurbished interior is very tastefully done. The whole experience was very very enjoyable and we cannot wait to come back soon!

We've visited the pub a few times recently and every time as been great.

Visited The Royal Oak today to celebrate my sons birthday. We had a very warm welcome. The decor is clean and fresh. The meals were excellent. 3 of us had a beef Sunday lunch and my son had a burger. All tasty and well cooked and plenty of food. The starters were nice too. This is my third visit for a meal and have come away very happy each time. I will definitely be returning.

Visited the Oak yesterday for the first time in many years and what a surprise. Now under the management of Roger Pitchford the place excels all reports I have heard. Only had coffee and cake this time but the servings were generous and very reasonable. The atmosphere was walk and welcoming as were all staff. Will definitely return to sample meals which other customers said were excellent.

Six of us arrived for lunch without booking.

Visited the Royal Oak on a Monday evening and happy to find a full menu available. Locals and bar staff were very friendly and the pub’s interior has benefited from a recent modernisation and is bright and warm. Had a really nice meal and bottle of wine. A very enjoyable pub to spend a chilly evening in!

This is a nice pub beautifully refurbished and clearly popular with the locals. Families are welcomed. The food is good standard pub restuarant food at very reasonable prices. We had a three course dinner and everything was well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were young, keen, friendly and knowledgable and couldn't have done more to be helpful. A nice selection of spirits too with good advice to come with them. Exceded our expectations without a doubt.

Good parking, decent high chairs for babies, good quality food. Although food was good quality and tasty, it was unfortunately let down by being almost cold. Vegetables between 3 were very small and odd combination. Not particularly friendly when arriving and didn't bother to ask if our meal was OK at any point. Finding a table for us seemed to be a chore even though it was half empty, although some were apparently reserved for later. Overall would not return.

Been a few times in the last couple of weeks, really enjoyed it. Super food, very friendly and efficient staff. Pizzas particularly are great. Keep up the good work. Will certainly visit again.

This lovely pub in Kings Bromley, is decorated with beautiful taste, the owner Gillian goes out of her way to see that you attended to promptly, Staff very friendly, and food first class I had Gammon Steak and it just melted in your mouth, we will certainly be going back

It looks a bit rough on the outside, but the inside has been really tastefully refurbished. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food sensibly priced and of well above average quality. We went on a Monday which is a pie night (as well as full menu) and the home made pies at £6.95 were excellent

We had visited here many times before and the last few had been worse than poor!

We visited this pub for a meal as we were staying at the nearby excellent Woodshoot B&B.; The pub was easy to find. Parking was convenient. The pub itself was gorgeous with lovely little touches for decorations. The staff were friendly. We'd booked our table for five and shown straight to it. The menu had good variety of choices. The food was excellent and well priced.

A friendly pub which serves tea, coffee and cakes as well as hot food. We had sandwiches which came with chips, salad and coleslaw. The even have gluten free bread which was great as my friend is gluten intolerant. A lovely space to relax in and would certainly go again.

This is my second review and I just have to say that this place is getting better. Just had three courses bottle of nice Chilien Merlot, couple of pre-dinner drinks, all for under 60 quid. Roast beef was tennder and plenty of veg.

A colleague and I visited the The Royal Oak recently, for a drink. The time was 10.00pm on a Sunday. We were greeted by the lady behind the bar, that "Last Orders" had been called. We thought this was strange, but she served us to our drinks rather grudgingly. The pub was empty apart from some locals who insisted on swearing at each other, and not being told by the bar staff to stop !!

I visited yesterday to meet my sister. Staff had advised me prior to booking that it was pie & curry night. Although a smallish menu (about 4 starters and sets & seven mains), the food was lovely and very reasonable - we both had three course and enjoyed everything we tried. Staff worked between open bar area displaying range of bespoke gins. There was also a large glass cake cabinet and we were told we could also choose a dessert from there if we wished. A tough choice (!) & I may have to return for the caramel cake...! Staff were really friendly working between tables and bar and nothing too much trouble. Added to this, a lovely, cosy setting. New interior has been well thought to create small areas to eat and chat. We had a lovely evening and shall return.

Went for lunch the food was excellent and staff very nice. The problem is that the menu is very restricted for meals 2 types of pie and fish and chips also soup. There was also sandwiches and paninis and baked potatoes. I would go again it was a nice place.

We called in here for lunch with our young puppy. The staff could not have been more helpful and provided a bowl of water and were not put off by the dog lying in the middle of the walkway from the kitchen! There was a garden so if the weather had been fine we could have sat in the garden. We had Panninis which were beautifully presented and very tasty and reasonably priced. A nice find.

Este pub me fue recomendado por Richard y Linda mis anfitriones en ser y ser. Woodshoot Gillian el dueño era de lo más acogedor y su personal era muy amable. Yo tenía mi cena aquí en las 3 noches de mi visita. El menú era variado y delicioso y servido con una sonrisa amable. Se cuando pensé que había perdido mi bus-pass en el pub. Realización de una minuciosa búsqueda por mí. Resultó que había perdido en otro lado, pero eso es por el.

El pub es un punto menos. En cervezas. limitado pero son nuevos.

Esta fue nuestra segunda visita a la recientemente re-inaugurado Royal Oak. Ambas veces fue para el pastel/Curry noche. Ahora probado ambas opciones parecía un buen momento para revisar.

At last Kings Bromley has the pub it deserves. We pitched up for a lite bite whilst we carried on our business meeting and were really pleased with the pie and chips!! Relaxed setting, nice beer and great food

Mi esposa y yo visitamos este pub durante una estancia en el ser y ser, Woodshoot también en el pueblo. Tuvimos una comida agradable, bastante simple, pero de buena calidad. Ambos tuvimos tartas que fuente localmente. Estas eran adecuadas, no es el típico tartas de carne con un casseroled pasteles de hojaldre! Fueron excelentes. El servicio era bueno y hasta nos dieron un 10% de descuento ya que nos quedamos en el ser y ser Woodshoot

Basado en una recomendación, nos volvimos para cenar. El servicio era rápido y amable.

Visitamos el Roble la semana pasada como que no teníamos nada en el armario para el té. Pedidos recibidos bien, bebidas tomadas y menús presentados rápidamente. Esperar para la comida, que era bueno, podía sacar defectos sobre patatas fritas, que no eran tan caliente como me hubiera gustado y otro pequeño punto pero el sonriente personal más que compensó por errores pequeños. Las sillas son una mezcla y los seres con un bar al otro lado de la mitad de la parte trasera debe ser evitado, me parecieron demasiado incómodo para sentarse. Tenía la misma queja en otro establecimiento local recientemente.

Un gran Pub en precioso pueblo. Comida tradicional y no era exigente a un precio justo. El servicio era excelente. Tenía una comida familiar para 5 incluyendo bebidas por £74 más la propina. No es barato, pero recibes lo que pagas y mantiene el rifi-rafe. Sin duda volveré

What a fantastic re-furb, the pub looks lovely, great furniture, beautiful colours on the walls, feels cosy and very inviting.

Después de haber estado en este pub hace 3 años estábamos muy preocupados, pero no había necesidad de estar, ambiente encantador, agradable menú sencillo, bien presentada y bien honesta comida, personal amable. Tan contentos que tenemos un agradable pub ahora cerca que he necesitado por un largo tiempo. Para rematar todo lo que perros!

Yo estaba en ser y estar, Woodshoots altamente recomendado, e indicaron que el Royal Oak, 0. 5 milla de distancia, merece la pena una visita.

Como han dicho otros el Royal Oak ha reabierto y ha tenido una renovación.

Visitamos el Royal Oak por primera vez ya que había abierto recientemente y ha sido renovado. Aunque era local, nunca visitamos anteriormente como los comentarios eran tan pobres y simplemente no parecía en absoluto acogedor. Sin embargo fue una gran sorpresa encontrar que el entorno era relajado, personal muy amable y atento, el ambiente es acogedor y lo mejor de todo es que la comida era muy sabrosa. Esperamos volver y hacer de este uno de nuestros pubs local en la zona. Bien hecho a todos los participantes en este lugar reabierto.

El Royal Oak y decidimos que sería hamburguesa vuelta ayer pero quelle horreur estaban llenos! Así que atención a reservar en el futuro. Yo sólo tenía que contenido que persigue mi nuevo hobby de trabajar mi camino a través de su menú de gin. Hasta ahora probado gin mare y uno llamado monkey algo! Tanto bueno. Triste escuchar que había sido abierta y licores robados, etc. deshacer todo su trabajo duro de semana anterior. Aún ver a ellos tan ocupado y muchas felicidades a los nuevos propietarios, estás haciendo un gran trabajo.

Cálido, acogedor y lleno de gente feliz. Es increíble lo que la nueva administración ha hecho de este pueblo encantador.

Un enorme enhorabuena a los nuevos dueños que han convertido este pub desde un edificio a un lugar acogedor displicente atmosférico agradable para ir. Habíamos probado este pub un par de veces anteriormente en los últimos años, pero como la reforma y el nuevo propietario hemos estado allí cuatro veces en poco más de una semana! Un par de veces sólo para bebidas, una vez mientras corta nuestro perro para disfrutar del café de su adición fabulosa y luego la última noche tuvimos una comida muy agradable que para elegir y terminar tres campos es un testimonio de lo buena que era la comida. Para mí el whitebait entrante, chille con carne principal y casero de arroz a fin eran excelentes, pero todo lo que pedimos fue disfrutado por todos. Casi me olvido de los cócteles, que a mi esposa le encantó (y obviamente tenía que probar), eran alucinantes. Un enorme gracias a los nuevos propietarios, el chef y todo el personal para brindar un excelente lugar tanto para entrar o disfrutar de una buena noche. Nos ha encantado, sin duda volveremos a usar el pub, cafetería y restaurante y se lo recomiendo a cualquiera que quiera escuchar.

Después de visitar aquí el año pasado nos dijo que nunca volvería por el personal antipático y ambiente, así que no estamos sorprendidos al oír que había cerrado. Ahora está bajo una nueva administración y qué diferencia. Lugar increíble, increíble bienvenida amable personal increíble, la comida increíble, increíbles cócteles y, para nuestro amigo de cuatro patas también es bienvenida. Qué más puedo decir increíble

Después de un par de monzón de haber cerrado y una reforma, este encantador pub tiene un nuevo arrendamiento de vida. Ha sido así que rejigged más acogedora y es mucho mejor. Estaba lleno y tenía algunos la vida, que le faltaba antes.

Large block of maisonettes where the car park used to be ! Pub in darkness so I assumed that's that another pub sold for it's land? No notices regarding status ......

Absolutely disgraceful! No organisation, unclean, no stock and rude staff. Management needs replacing!

Cada vez que pop en su ha sido siempre un buen ambiente, el personal es amable y profesional, la comida siempre es bueno, nunca tuve un problema.

Absolutely gorgeous pub, we have been a good few times, the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The staff service every-time i have been with family has been great and 100%! The lady who is the manager of the lovely pub is always a pleasure to talk too and so welcoming! We go on in regularly for our family meal every week, the food is always gorgeous, piping hot and most of all homemade to perfection.

Qué cambio desde nuestra última visita, llamamos por la noche a las 7 pm y pastel pastel. Por desgracia, ordenados, la carne cocinada, quizás estaba bajo 7 pm era demasiado temprano para la comida tarta. Las patatas fritas eran geniales y la mejor parte de la comida. Éramos las únicas personas en el restaurador, en el momento de nuestra visita, y sí que nos pregunto por qué. Pedimos refrescos que servían caliente con hielo. Gran pena después de nuestra última visita.

Popped in for a quick drink with my other half on the way home from work only to walk into what can only be described as a kids watering hole. Group of young 'adults' making lots of noise and the language was disgusting - couldn't hear my wife speak. I could put up with the young adults if it weren't for the attitude of the manager. She seemed more interested in the group (who i didn't see pay for one single drink) than any other customers leaving us shouting for service because we are over the age of 30. She needs to spend more time trying to run the pub and invite new business than sitting on every boys she see's knee. Hope her boyfriend reads this because i've been in more than once and seen her with a completely difference lad but was all over him. Moral of the story is that a business shouldn't be run by kids.

Llamamos para comer de paso en nuestro camino a casa. La señorita que ha tomado el establecimiento era muy acogedor, el menú y la comida, a un precio razonable, es rápido, sabroso y bien caliente. En conjunto, un encantador almuerzo y sin duda volvería.

My partner and I drove past the pub recently and thought it looked welcoming so decided to go in. Went we entered it was surprisingly rough with a group of people who i presume were regulars sitting by the bar, with kids and dogs running round.The language was so loud i could hardly hear myself think and the amount of bad language was that bad we considered leaving. We went and sat down, the bar service was good, to the table and the girl running food seemed pleasant and doing the best she could. Unfortunately the food took forever to arrive, and when it did because of the price i was expecting home cooked, better presented and of a better quality. Real shame as its a beautiful looking put.

El pub en sí está en una buena ubicación y las instalaciones y la decoración es agradable. Pero el servicio, la larga espera y una comida muy malo terminó en decepción. Las cuatro comidas nos sirven dos a la vez, con al menos 5 minutos entre que era después de esperar casi una hora. Así que es una pena, pero no volvería.

On going to visit my son whilst in the UK we were passing through Kings Bromley and decided to stop and have lunch at the Royal Oak and are so pleased that we did what fantastic meals they serve, everything was cooked to perfection and well presented and also with great service, if you are in the area give them a try you will not be disappointed.

After having a fantastic time the last time we visited,we decided to come back and try out the New Menu. What a surprise, the price was very very reasonable and the food was amazing. The New Chef sure does know whats she is doing! The staff were great,very friendly and engaged with our children even though the restaurant was very busy,nothing was too much for them. Its had a real good turn for the better since the New Chef, New Menu and New Management.. welldone the ladies of The Royal Oak..definately coming back soon. Thankyou

We were a little skeptical about coming here as we heard that they’ve had a few managers in a short amount of time, however after hearing about another manager being in, we decided we would give it a chance and we were in awe of the place. When we arrived we were greeted by the manageress herself, who was so friendly and polite and we instantly felt welcome, as we were looking around at the place she informed us that they had recently been refurbished, and what a wonderful job they did. Fortunately, we went on a sunny day, which meant we would take full advantage of the beautiful garden. We ordered our food which came in a reasonable time and the presentation of our meals was beautiful and the taste? Gorgeous!! We are so glad we took our chances to come here as we were not disappointed, as we only live 15 minutes away this will definitely be our new local.
