Royal Munchy Box in Birmingham

I am disgusted , I went in and brought a pork curry with NO vegetables , kids meal chicken nuggets,chip, chicken burger, prawn crackers and curry sauce , the pork curry came with vegetables even though I said MULTIPLE times no vegetables in the pork curry, chicken nuggets came burnt , chicken burger wasn’t cooked properly , prawn crackers were stale the only good thing there was the curry sauce , waste of money!!!!, this isn’t the first time I’ve brought food here but this is certainly the last. Always getting orders wrong ALWAYS. The workers are RUDE genuinly isn’t worth the money , keep away ! They are VERY un organised they had to go to the shop next door to get some of the supplies for the food .not worth the money AT ALL

really big fan of the food at this place, however it no longer lets me order a Munchy Box on Deliveroo, as it adds on extra the price of each item individually, so ur paying for the price of the box as well as each item. If this could get fixed soon that would be great!

NEW OWENER !!! There has been a change in owners and the shop it running back on track there is also a new chef and the food quality taste and portions have all improved also a new staff member who Is very helpful and friendly helping me to order my food through the main website as there just eat , Uber etc are down at the moment but I was still able to order through the main website that is shown At the top of the website as “providerYuYu” other than that lil bit of confusion that can get cleared up very easy by simply calling the shop .. but overall shop is getting a lot better -would recommend

our food took over a hour too “come” and then said delivered and did not arrive !!

This has got to be the worst place iv ever order from as iv order my food they took my money saying they are open after. Waiting over a hour for my delivery and then calling for 30min I have to go there to see that the place was not even open but still took my money I wouldn't order from there if it was the last place on earth

Absolutely disgusting food, item missing on delivery, took 50 minutes to deliver missing item, food was then stone cold, prawn crackers were stale, wouldn’t recommend at all.

Do NOT try to order from their website. They don't check the orders and you will never get your food. The last time I ordered I phoned an hour after the expected delivery time to ask if there was a delay, they said they had no orders through. I told them all the information and they said they had the order and didn't see it. I gave them another chance today and after 30 minutes of saying the order was waiting to be accepted from the restaurant I tried calling. They didn't answer any of my 10 calls. Everywhere said it was open. Luckily I paid through PayPal and could get my money back as they never delivered.

Never showed and won’t answer the phone. Absolutely shocking. Avoid ordering from here at all costs

Great service Always really good and tasty. Charlotte on counter always helpful an polite Had previous problems with other young lady getting order wrong but Charlotte was really helpful and she apologised and made sure food was right this time also gave me a discount due to previous visit. Will come again. Always get the better service when Charlotte on or when the man was working but think he gone now.

DONT AND I REPEAT DONT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!! 2 hours and £32 down the food was DISGUSTING!!! Cold salty hardley any meat at all we couldnt eat the majority of it and it went straight in the bin im disgusted by this place and you should be closed down….

After 2 HOURS our food turned up couldnt eat the lemon chicken it was VILE chips was cold and tasted reheated and they was VILE noodles was pure salt had barley any meat at all broccoli was almost frozen STAY AWAY from this place £32 down and it was disgusting….

Revived one spring roll and samosas no curry sauce and the portion is tiny

The food is tasty but it took TWO HOURS to arrive. I called for an update after 1 hour 20 and was told it was with the driver - it took another 40 minutes and I live a 5 minute drive away…

Food was cold , couldn’t eat chips and no chicken curry in the Manchy box , what a wash off money

Jas was really helpful and very understandable after my meal cam to late and cold. He kept in touch and offered a complimentary meal that was anything I wanted plus delivery. This is the only time I've had a bad experience. Thank you Jas

I ordered a munch box and the kind and lovely Daniel called me to tell me one item wasn’t available and he was subbing it for. Something else and a bottle of pop and told me to call back the next time and get my free 25% off which I have done what a kind person and honestly I can’t fault the food me and my partner have very much enjoyed it and the great customer service has made all the difference too 😀

Ordered via their website. Waited for 2 hours because it was a Friday and i get places can get busy, but got to closing time and food still didn’t arrive, no-one answering phones all night, left multiple messages and no refund sorted. Awful place. Stay away.

Omg this was the most disgusting food ever. Honestly 40.quid for chewy beef bland noodles rock hard chixken balls and baey any curry sauce. Do not reccomend.

Ordered through uber eats saying 9:15 delivery finally rang up at 10pm to ask where food was person on other end hung up as soon as i gave postcode. We thought last week with the food taking 2 hours to arrive was a one off but obviously not. Avoid this place like the plague if you actually want warm food to arrive at some point.

waited ages for the food, the food was cold and had clearly been sat in the shop before being delivered. When we rang up to explain the problem, person on the phone was not helpful. She refused to refund us and kept saying all we can get is 20% next time!!! will deffo not be a next time

I was really hoping this place would be good especially as it was recommended by my local vegan community. My first order missed the “veg chicken” entirely. My second order contained real chicken (battered chicken balls which weren’t part of my box I was meant to have chips). I called the place to confirm yesterday and the lady confirmed it was definitely vegan - but I can’t see vegan chicken balls in batter on the list so I was confused, the lady apologised for missing the chips and sent some chips. I ate some of the “veg chicken” but my partner had the real chicken balls and they were exactly the same. I’ve not eaten meat for just under 3 years and I’m upset at this :( The photo is what I received which I gave the other two to my partner once I realised it was real chicken :(

The standard has dropped significantly. I no longer visit this place after spending £40 on one order the meals were very disappointing.

Absolutely disgusted with my food. Ordered a 3 in one tray special, walked 10 minutes down the road to get home and receive a little curly hair in my food. I removed the hair from the food to see what it was. I phoned the place and said that there was a hair in my food. The lady then said she'd make us more food and drop it. Okay brilliant. WHY have i just opened my other 3 in one to see another hair in there? 0 ratings for the place. You make me sick

Great amount of food (had lots to eat the day after) for a great price! Food was yummy, but the beef was chewy and the sesame toast was oily. Duck and rice was really nice, and they gave us free prawn crackers.

I went into the shop with a £5 that my colleague gave me from work and i thought okay i’ll get off the bus to get some chips and i go in there and ask for the chips and i give a woman there £5 in there and she rejects it and accuses me of using fake money and the £5 is real, reflecting and is the same colour as any other note, i just think she didn’t wanna accept the £5 because it was rolled up. I then phoned the shop when i got back home and the same woman come on the phone absolutely shouting at me, talking all over me and wouldn’t let me explain and tell her the £5 is real, she then put the phone down which was so rude. NEVER GO TO THIS SHOP, the woman is an absolute nightmare and disgusting also they’re lucky i walked into there because the food is rank!

Food was awful, spring rolls were stale, seaweed was stale, chow mein was cold and noodles tasted really strange, salt and pepper chicken was so soggy and wet. Waste of £30 was recommended by a friend, hate leaving bad reviews but wouldn't waste your money.

Went to place an order via telephone told Bill came to 39.70 pounds sterling with delivery's for chicken curry an fried rice, beef curry fried rice, chicken chow mein, spicy ribs, and spicy chicken wings! And yet on there Web site for the same order it comes to 31.50 plus 3 pounds delivery pounds sterling when this was mentioned to them i was rudely told that everywhere is expensive! So ordered from a different Chinese and shaved 10 pounds sterling off the bill!

Ordered off of Uber Eats at a reasonable time. Waited until the end of the ETA until I called the restaurant since the food had not arrived. The first time there was simply no answer, with both the second and third time the phone being picked up and hung up straight away. Around 15 minutes later, following a final unanswered phone call, the order was unexplainably cancelled over the app. I'll never understand why a) restaurants accept orders they clearly can't fulfil and b) why they can't just be open and honest with the people using their service. An overwhelmingly poor experience, with my business going elsewhere in future. It's a shame, since I was very much looking forward to the food advertised. From the reviews I see this isn't the first time this has happened. My points above stand - please close your business to orders if you can't fulfil. It will save disappointment of your customers, and save yourself the likelihood of developing a bad reputation.

AVOID!!!!!!!!! gave me food poisoning!!!! i was drawn in by the wide vegetarian selection, but the food came suspiciously quickly, i'm assuming the fried rice was reheated from the day before and that's what made me ill. go to miss li's instead if you want a good veggie chinese takeaway

Wish I could put lower!! Order my food for it not to show after a hour an half, called them up for them to claim they never had a order even though they took my money. They say ok we will do your food half hour passed I call oh no we won’t do your food actually I called you (didn’t ) called me a liar an told me to come down to sort it. Come down for her to say not her problem an il have to sort food somewhere else as she’s not arsed. Told good luck getting my money back. Top it off I’m glad I didn’t get food there as the place is dirty. Rude staff, blaming each other for the mess up an just mess about even admitted they didn’t print the order correctly. Ordered for the first time tonight the girl who answered the phone was a right clueless eejit, food came minus the rice and the delivery driver charged us 3 different prices so clueless and food was on par with the rubbish at wing wah on the wolvo in oldbury will tell people to avoid

Love this Chinese. The food is great, the service is great, the prices are great, and I'm a fussy person. They even added a bit sauce for free and gave my kid a free fortune cookie. I'm a very happy customer. Thank you, keep it up.

The menu needs to be clear on the Munchy Box part of it. I ordered 6 dishes (some of us don't eat meat) and to my surprise, they all came in the same box. However, the lady who picked up the phone was helpful and all is ok now but I think they need to make this clear on the menu. All the best!

We had a meal delivered to the Hospital where I work,three of us had a meal each,the one meal had chicken in it which was very chewy.The prawn toast was hard and in edible. Then to top it off I found two long black hairs in my curry sauce.So we definitely wont be going back again....disgusting!

Order was very late and the food, all 6 dishes I ordered were thrown in together in the same box. Vegetarian and meat all together. They won't pick up the phone to me now. Total waste of time and money! Never again.

Our favourite place, has amazing veggie options that are so so convincing. The best Chinese take out I've ever had. Going to have some tonight and I cannot wait. They haven't let me down yet!

The best Chinese food I have ever had and I'm extremely fussy! Absolutely fantastic! I'm so glad I stumbled across this place. I never write reviews, but my meal was too good for me not to. Credit to the chefs.

I changed my Chinese takeaway and tried this place and wow..... not only did I enjoy every bite bit my wife did also absolutely amazing food really great price and delivery time is great , I like to normally out something in reviews that could be improved but honestly I couldn't find any by far the best Chinese this side of Birmingham 5* from Mr and Mrs James 36 dettonford road

Well, we had a large order a little under £40, I collected it in person. Won tons - seamed as though they had been reheated, not much in them anyway, lamb curry- standard curry sauce, (disappointed) as for the lamb it was chewy fat. szechuan lamb - lamb was mostly nasty fat!!! no meat.it tasted horrible. chicken chow mein- not really any flavour, also not much chicken. left a acidity taste, waste of money. I would recommend this takeaway to people without taste buds. I gave it 2stars because its round the corner.
