Royal Gurkha in Bedford

Buena comida. Originalmente teníamos la intención de comer como lo hicimos hace un par de meses, pero pensamos que habíamos dejado demasiado tarde para reservar así que ordenó una comida para llevar. De hecho, había mesas disponibles, así que cualquiera que lea esto, trate de reservar no importa lo tarde que crea que lo ha dejado. La otra cara es que las comidas para llevar también son sobresalientes y no tuve que caminar mucho para llegar al sofá después! Hemos tenido dos cenas y dos comidas para llevar en los últimos meses, Royal Gurkha nunca pierde un ritmo. Reservado para un martes por la noche para celebrar el 12 cumpleaños de mi hijo (a su elección). La comida era fantástica, el servicio muy bueno como lo era el ambiente. No me extraña que estuvieran casi llenos un martes por la noche. Incluso la comida de mi hija menor (nuggets de pollo con papas fritas) era mejor que la mayoría de los pubs. Bedford es mimado por buenas casas de curry pero esto va a la cabeza de mi lista.

Creo que esto es súper increíble y los mejores lugares indios en Bedford. La comida era épica , el personal era amable e increíble, sin duda recomendaría esto a un amigo. Me encantó la comida que era increíble

Tuvimos la experiencia más maravillosa aquí para una noche de citas. La comida era genial y el servicio era impecable. El propietario vino a charlar con nosotros sobre su carrera militar y nos hizo sentir como si estuviéramos cenando como sus amigos personales. Definitivamente volveremos y le contaremos a nuestros amigos sobre el Royal Ghurka.

La comida era increíble. Tuve langostino rey en salsa Makana marido tuvo pollo en una piña. Muy bien. El personal era muy atento y el propietario vino y nos habló que era muy acogedor.

The best restaurant in Bedford in my opinion. The selection of food is impressive, every dish I’ve tried so far (over numerous visits) has been delicious and different. The owner a true Gurkha has been present every time chatting to guests always in a beautiful suit. Real family service with outstanding food. Don’t believe the bad reviews 😌 book and give it a try.

We held a fundraising event here for the second time in July 2024 and it was fantastic. There is always a warm reception from Kumar, the wait staff are super helpful, polite and efficient and the food is utterly delicious. All our attendees (around 70) had nothing but positive things to say and I would recommend the Royal Gurkha to anyone looking for fine Indian dining in Bedford. We had a delightful evening yet again and will be back in the future! Thanks again to all involved in making our night as seamless and successful as possible.

We eat here regularly. Last two times we were extremely disappointed with the food. The four of us had four different starters but they all had the same sauce. All mains had so much sugar in them. The quality and taste of food has deteriorated. Disappointing

On this occasion (Easter Monday) we had a takeaway because my wife has a knee injury making it difficult to sit comfortably at the table. This was as exceptional as the food has always been when we have dined in. We are foodies and my wife is a retired Asian Head Chef. Her own reviews for meals she cooked were always exceptional. It is very rare for her to show immediate satisfaction when we have a meal cooked by someone else. The Royal Gurkha ticks EVERY box. One of the ways we judge the quality is not only while we eat but half an hour later when one can still taste the flavours. It does not happen in many places but the experience for us was like a fine wine …… the tastes linger! Our opinion differs from one of the other reviews in that we believe the flavours are definitely authentic. Everyone’s expectations are different but for me, this place delivers 5 stars in every section. I can’t fault it. The staff are the nicest people one can imagine and the owner, Kailak I believe never misses the opportunity to spend time with all of his customers. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Outstanding in every way. As soon as we return from Holland we will be coming back.

Travelled from india on family gathering in Bedford. Heard good things about this place. Unfortunately for my likeing everything just tasted the same, from the same curry base. This is not what we get in India or many other uk Restaurant. Waste of money and time

I have been to the royal gurka on many occasions, A gastronomical experience like no other with a holy trinity of aromatics is the only way for me to describe the food offered. The atmosphere hospitality, attention to detail meticulous service shown by Kumar and his staff catapult the experience to a stratospheric experience.

Visited three times now and every occasion has been exceptional. Incredible food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The owner is great too - always comes over for a chat to see how the food is. Can’t recommend higher! One of my favourite restaurants.

Fantastic food and service. We are vegetarian and the dishes available was plenty, we tried most of the starters which were amazing. Portions sizes are a little small overall but the quality and taste make up for this. Would definitely recommend and going back soon. Thank you!

This is without a doubt the best curry house in Bedford. The food is incredible with a varied menu and the staff are very professional. Kumar is an exceptional host!

I went to this Restaurant with my family for dinner. we were received by Kumar the Gurkha that manages the Restaurant and we have a great dinning experience. We tried many different dishes in the menu and everything was delicious; so many different and exotic flavours! The host spent some time with us before we left as the kids were curious about the pictures on the walls. We will definitely be back.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely to see the owner welcoming guest and shaking hands with his guest. Food was extremely tasty, kids even loved it which is saying something!

Perfect place for a birthday! We’ve come here a few times now with both friends and family for a birthday meal. Both the food and service was fantastic👍

After eating at this restaurant a few times and enjoying several take always, I thought it was about time I wrote a review… It’s a lovely restaurant. Kumar is charming, as are his staff and the food is exceptional. Bedford has been inundated with Indian / Bangladeshi restaurants for sometime but this place, with its Nepalese / Indian cuisine is simply the best in Bedford. Brilliant, will be back.

Amazing food with equally amazing and friendly staff. I believe they are all Nepalese (some of the most amazing people in the world). Momos are a must as a starter.

As always, the most beautiful food and the loveliest staff. Just came for an early dinner so was nice and quiet. Cannot recommend it enough!

King prawn starter couldn’t find a king prawn in the batter and salad. All starters seemed to be made from one sweet tasting pepper and onion mix. Main was a special - chicken of the bone it was sliced breast chicken and tasted ordinary. Heard...

One of the best restaurants for service in Bedford. The Nepalese food is genuine and authentic. After several visits, I cannot fault the place.
