Worst meal we have ever had from a Chinese takeaway. We ordered chicken and king prawn curry, the chicken and prawns were inedible, we couldn’t cut through the chicken Very disappointed

Awful food 3 of us got different dishes all sick nxt day

Normally really enjoy there food, however tonight collected my order and the curry is very very Spicy it is not Normally like this and we tend to come twice a month atleast, rang the shop to ask if they had a different chef in or had changed there recipe, they said no everything was exactly the same, it's evidently not the same since we can't eat it! I would have been as bothered if they admitted it was a different chef or they had changed there recipe i would have gave them another try! But to totally deny there is anything different when i am sat trying to eat it is totally out of order! Now i can just say they have lost a regular customer and I will now be on the hunt for a new takeaway

Amazing food yesterday once again. Salt and pepper chicken was just delicious. My son thoroughly enjoyed his sweet and sour chicken balls and he’s a really fussy eater. Wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

Salt and pepper chicken looked and tasted like it was a week old (would upload a photo but website won't allow) the meat in the chow mein tasted rubbery and old and sweet and sour sauce is like water with a red consistency, again have photos to upload but website will not allow. DONT ORDER FROM HERE THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE

Sesame Prawn toast- chicken, not Prawn. Over done & salty Double Happy- chicken and duck both overcooked and dry, barely a shred of egg in the rice and curry sauce tasted lovely but rather watery consistency. Crispy Shredded Beef in Cantanose- definitely NOT crispy, or shredded. All in all, a waste of money.

Fantastic value for money. Lots of food, prepared very quickly. Only down side was 'Cash Only'.

Spacial chow mein had more salt the the sea in it very over powered and rice over cooked won't be going back no time soon

revived an order from royal chef which we paid over £60 for and we were severely disappointed. 1- the salt and pepper chips had such little seasoning on them they just tasted plain 2- satay veg was watery and tasteless 3- sweet and sour pork was tough and dry 4- beef in chili and garlic was also tasteless, not spicy and sauce was like jelly 5-noodles were overcooked and oily resulting in awful texture 6- egg fried rice was also bland 7-the prawn toast and wontons were also chicken tasting and wontons very dry on the inside which was very upsetting as these are usually our favourites. We did enjoy the red chicken and curry sauce which I feel for an order this large is disappointing We called royal chef to try and get a refund and to complain, but we were told we could not have a refund unless the food was completely untouched or if something was raw. This makes little sense because how would we know the food was bad without tasting it. We are now out of pocket and out of dinner. Not impressed.

Fabulous place food was amazing very friendly staff as I am very fussy but they accommodated my needs without any hassle at all would definitely recommend.

This Chinese takeaway is so Hitty Missy now,that I won't use again . Must have different chefs ,as meals are lovely or disgusting. Thursday night ,our 2 special chow meins were just sloppy salty mush ,and we both had bad stomachs from only eating maybe a quarter.

Disgusting business, running scams on social media. Food used to be ok, but is over priced and bland. The man running the phones is rude and just hung up the phone. Avoid at all costs. Such a shame used to be decent.

Worst take away I've ever had. Spent £67 on a family meal (takeaway) and threw it all in the bin. Dry, overcooked, how on earth do you make dry chips? Do not recommend this place at all

We ordered a meal last night and it was exceptional the meal was fantastic and piping hot the service was amazing from ordering to delivery 100% satisfaction.

Everything from the service to the food was perfect.

Been going here for years but the prawn crackers and my chow main tasted of burnt oil. Could not eat the chow main. Really horrible taste. Might give somewhere else a try

Good portion sizes, reasonable prices. Spare ribs are great. Chicken Chow Mein (dry) was, for me, way to salty with far to much soy sauce used.

Great food. Excellent service. Quick. Wish it was better functioning online to order as the website always marks the shop as closed but otherwise no complaints.

Food is good but the online ordering system constantly says the place is closed. This isn't a major issue but I rarely carry cash so having to ring up to order and then try and find cash is tiresome. I'd rather have the ease of paying on card on the online system.

The service from the young girl at the counter was lovely, which is nice to see. Would 100% recommend

Good prompt delivery and with a smile. Nice prawn crackers and the starter of chop suey spring rolls were good. Regrettably the main course of beef in oyster sauce was so sweet it was barely edible. Sorry chaps.

Used to go quite regularly when it was the Oriental Pearl years ago, but moved out the area. I'm back in Morpeth now, and thought I'd give Royal Chef a go. Created an account with them on their website, and placed my order online. The food was ready for collection as soon as I got there. The staff were polite and friendly, and the meal was hot, and delicious! I will certainly be back 🙂 Oriental Pearl:- My girlfriend and I visit here quite regularly. I have been a customer for many years. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Our favourite Chinese takeaway.

I've boycotted this place for a few months after a couple of bad experiences. I then heard a little bit of an overhaul had occurred so I've tried again, and i must say i am not disappointed. I ordered online this time, so easy to use. If you call, a friendly young lady repeats your order back to you and gives total price and estimated time for delivery or pick-up. Food is delicious, cooked properly, served fast and piping hot by friendly delivery service. A million miles away from the bad experiences listed below. Well done Royal Chef, you've won me back and that's not easy to do!! PREVIOUS OPINION: Bad attitude from a cocky young boy on the phone. He doesn't listen, therefore gets your order wrong and then the food is below bog standard. Egg fried rice is barely fried and cold and then the vegetables are so undercooked they are hard and tasteless. Just because the food is fast, definitely does NOT make it good.

Service with more than a smile, Maggie on the counter told me she was 'into the kinky stuff', but as my Chicken Fried Rice would have got cold, had to decline. They don't provide forks.

I've had a fair few chinese takeaways in the north east, and these guys absolutely set a new bar for me. Best salt & pepper chilli chicken i've ever had hands down... and proper gravy! Be mindful they only take cash but otherwise this place is my new favourite.

Beautiful meal this evening have used Royal Chef since moving to the area in October 21 would definitely recommend as every time except once the food has been very good arrived when they have said it would and has been hot and very tasty 😋

The lad on the desk has no customer service skills lol ,but we had crispy beef ,not to our taste & chicken egg Foo young very nice with a nice fried rice plus a lovely curry sauce & tiny bag of free prawn clackers ..we will be back & maybe I will teach the lad some social skills 🤣👍

Nice service and the takeout meals my grandchildren and I had were very tasty.

Amazing experience. I ordered it at 5pm for delivery at 7:35 and it arrived promptly. I realised 20 mins before it was due to be delivered, that I had forgotten to order crackers, I called and the very helpful gentleman on the phone was able to add them to the order. Great quality of food. Faultless.

The only Chinese take away we use in Morpeth. We order from here regularly & everything has always been excellent, great staff & great food.

Made order 19.54 it came at 21.49 cold I often use this takeaway and don't normally have any problems but tonight I wasn't happy

Pre ordered our food the day before for 6.30 on the sat for delivery. It arrived an hour late, it was cold and disgusting! Even my dog 🐕 refused a piece of the meat!!!!! It went straight into the bin! This was our first time using them and certainly will be the last!!!!! Shocking

I order Chinese solely from here, their menu is fantastic and their flavours are delicious. The meat is juicy, the veg is crunchy and theirs is the only bbq sauce on the planet I will eat.

Wrong order given then when I rang to complain I was told I had ordered it!! I am vegetarian and this had meat and prawns in it!!! Says it all really when u order food on a sat night and u only have to wait 10 mins!!

Sorry but it was awful. Staff are friendly but the food was tasteless, stale and tasted like it had been reheated. Sweet and sour chicken balls were okay. Everything else, very poor.
