Royal Bengal in Chesterfield

Waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for the order to arrive. The food was greasy and cold. Could not eat it, it went straight in the bin.

We ordered from here for the first time last night and it was honestly fantastic. The food was clearly prepared with care and passion. It's packaged with care also, nothing had leaked out of the packages and the poppadoms arrived in full tact. The pickle tray was decent and the curries were both out of this world. We had the garlic Lamb Buna, and the lamb saag with mushroom rice and 2 garlic naans, which were good but could have been slightly thinner and a little crisp. It all arrived when it said it was going to. We found our new curry house.

aside from the late delivery. the food was absolutely delicious. but initially it was due at 10 past the hour then moved to half past then it was another 15 minutes late after.

Over 10 years since I first ordered from royal bengal and have never mover elsewhere but that relationship has sadly ended. A new owner and a downturn in service has made my decision following my order missing many items ad then being told when I rang up, you're welcome to come and pick up missing items! I eventually had the items delivered some 40 minutes later, too late we'd finished so such a pity but it's time to move on.

Delivery is a joke took over 2 hours

The food was delicious, and arrived on time. I suppose that's all you want from a takeaway delivery.

Have to say tonight’s wasn’t the greatest. Normally faultless but tonight there was so much oil on top of the curry’s we had it didn’t taste right at all. Also have you changed your keema meat in the naan bread ?

Fantastic food. Food is consistently great every time we order. There are more local places for us but this place is amazing and well worth the extra miles

Delivery time was great however the food delivered wasn’t edible. Naan wasn’t cooked and tikka masala was like pure tomato purée. When I rang to report customer service was excellent and a new dish was delivered really quickly free of charge however the new dish was only slightly better. Edible however was a disappointment sorry!

Ordered half tandoori chicken was more like a chicken leg really disappointed compared to what we have had in past on search for new Indian takeout

As usual, the best indian food around. Royal Bengal has the highest recommendation from me.

Sorry to say food was lukewarm poppadoms were soft and chewy and first and last time I've ordered chips they were cold such a shame we threw it away really disappointed as like I said never had a problem before maybe they were busy as its Bank Holiday but really no excuse

The chapati where not of that great quality and it was very hard previously it used to be delivered soft.

Notbto it's usually high standard. Missing one of the mushroom rice's we ordered and no riata or salad supplied to go with onion barjis like we normally get. What did come though was good quality.

It’s our first order post Christmas and WOW!!!! Must be a new chef, the gee rice was sooooo light and fluffy. The CT Masala was smooth and tender with just enough spice. If I could award the takeaway 10 stars I would still be moaning I couldn’t award them 15 stars…… yes it was THAT good and……. The whole order was Piping hot! Thanks Guys!!!!!

Food took 2.5hours to be delivered after being quoted 45mins. When it arrived it was cold. Won’t be ordering again

It’s a hour later than it says when you order!!! I can’t rate the food as it’s been two hours since I ordered and I don’t have it

It was 20 minutes later than the estimated time but it wasn’t a problem. The problem was on the just eat app it said it had been delivered 20 minutes earlier. The food was lovely no complaints on that score.

It’s 2nd time we’ve used these and the food is delicious and definitely will be using them in the future

Was too much oily and the containers and food was completely floating on oil, the stuffed Partha did have any veggies or potato stuffed inside it was just a thick layer of wheat floor and was too oily. Apart from this the curries ordered tasted really good but oil could have reduced.

We order every few weeks, butter chicken and balti. Food is always hot, and very tasty. Prices are good, what's not to love!

Ordered loads from them previously! Late delivery all the time…. Ordered tonight 40-45 min delivery at 6.30 Delivery came up with 20.05 when we finished the order all ok! @20.45 phoned and cancelled the order! We were looking forward to an Indian but THIS IS SO DISAPPOINTING AGAIN

Normally have an amazing meal from here but I gwt that it's NYE, but 2hrs for delivery, all of it was cold and the raita I ordered was just yoghurt. Nothing actually in it.

Poppi’s on were stale bread was cold but that was probably because the food had been in the car for over 40mins as we called to see were our order was at 6.20 as that was delivery time and was told it was on its way we didn’t get the food until 7pm

Didn’t get our food. Customer service was shocking when I called didn’t apologise or say they would try to get to us, told us to take it up with just eat.

The taste was top notch, well worth the wait. Everything tasted exactly as expected. Beautiful lamb Rogan josh, pashwari naan and onion bahjis. My fave Indian now. Will be ordering again!

The food was ok, but there was a lack of spice. We’ve ordered both dishes before and they had a decent level of spice in, but this time they were quite mild. We have ordered from here a few times, sometimes it’s great, other times it’s a bit greasy or lacking in flavour. Just a bit inconsistent.

Took almost 2.5 hours to arrive. Food was lovely but we were that hungry by then! Everything needed to go in the microwave to be reheated before we could eat it. Not good with prawn dishes! I understand it was a Saturday night and busy but the delivery time was unacceptable. The Uber driver was very apologetic. Sadly first and last time ordering from here due to wait time.

Always order from here as it’s absolutely delicious but took 1hr 25 to come on a Wednesday night. When ordering said 40-55 minutes.

Arrived 2 hours later and after I prompted them 3 times. When delivered no hello or sorry for delay from driver. Very disappointed and not a very good 1st impression. Food was OK, cold, pilau rice wasn't even yellow and very dry crunchy OB tasted nothing like them

Starter was okay, good value for money, bhaji was a little tough and fallen apart but good flavour. Lamb roman josh was beautiful, rice was good. Naan average. Overall a good meal, arrived piping hot and on time. I would order again!

Slight difference to what is described and what was delivered, I ordered Gobi muttar bhaji, described as cauliflower and chickpeas, but what arrived was potato and chickpea. Not correct, but still very tasty.

Read all reviews and thought must be a good takeaway. So here goes this is My honest opinion The pickle tray was beautiful But was thrown in the bag so loads of stuff had leaked. The garlic naan was dry no butter or anything just garlic The chicken korma has 7 small pieces of chicken and was all sauce. The medium lamb bhuna had no spice at all was very milk. Still tasty though Food arrived warm not hot enough unfortunately And the delivery driver pulled up with their music on full blast at 9pm got out brought our food with the music STILL on full blast! Phoned restaurant to let them know. Unfortunately I won't be a returning customer but thank you anyway
