Awful as usual. 7.35pm and Leon and Noodle Bar closed as well as Costa. Only thing open McDonald's. To make matters worse only half tables open. It is not 10pm for goodness sake. This isn't unusual. Absolutely packed so no idea why these places don't stay open longer ? If these concessions won't open during their advertised hours then they should be replaced. Service Station. The clue should be in the title. Tables filthy ! Treating people like animals.

What an absolute dump. Why do we put up with places like this in the UK? The car park is full of potholes, the food is overpriced rubbish, it's absolute carnage trying to get out because of the system in place, but worst of all; the ladies toilets were absolutely, utterly disgusting. I'm surprised they've not been reported to environmental health. Just horrible, avoid at all costs.

Stopped here with my son for a toilet stop and some food from Mcdoanld’s. First thing I noted was that the toilets were awful. Several ladies toilets were blocked and I watched a poor elderly lady with a stick walking from cubicle to cubicle trying to find a toilet suitable for its actual purpose! We then visited McDonald’s for some food. Tables were filthy and bins were overflowing. Thankfully, my son and I ordered completely different meat from McDonald’s. I had a Big Mac burger and within a few hours I became very quickly unwell and was up all night vomiting. I have reported this to the local environmental health team. You couldn’t pay me to return to this service station!

Make sure you explain exactly what you want when ordering at McDonald's! I asked for a double cheeseburger with just cheese, guess what? I was given literally two beefburger Pattie's with cheese and pickles on, no bun! I was not impressed when I got down the motorway to my destination to find this! I should have learned my lesson by now 🤦

The worst service station in the south east! Stopped and went to use the “new” grid service charging points .. all 2 of them! Pointless. It charges at 10kw which would take over 4 hours. With a 2hr max stay. No ones thinking this through! There is a much better charger with 15 super quick ones on our way past a retail Park 20 miles up the road.

Surely one of the worst services in the UK. Every time I have to stop here I’m amazed how bad it is. 6pm on a Saturday and half the food outlets are closed, it’s scruffy, there’s litter strewn around the min indoor area. Just terrible

1 high speed electric charge point. Approximately 15 times more fruit machines. This is a critical location for travel to the south west. They need to invest more in car charge points.

Without a doubt the worst services I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. The tables were filthy the bins stunk like they’d never been emptied the food from McDonald’s had been reheated about 80 times my sons fish fingers were so bad there was literally no fish left in them. The toilets were the worst. Faeces along the back of the toilet seat and up the wall of the cubicle I walked into just so appalling. I would highly suggest carrying further up and finding anywhere else.

Very clean services. Plenty of breakfast options. Gareth, the customer host was very friendly and gave us some hints and tips.

On this visit the restaurant was filthy with food all over the floors, all tables dirty and not whiped, bins overflowing - customers were eating in grime - the food prep area and floors looked equally unclean and unhygienic. It was not busy, they had 3 staff members on. It felt gross and I suspect management are not overseeing this branch well, it’s poor for motorway services and sloppy upkeep. Staff appeared tired and disenfranchised - poorly run branch could do much better. Orders 76KW-99HY-CRLP and 76KD-NJHY-CHNN

ROWNHAMS westbound... Take EXCEPTIONAL care you don't stay for more than 2 hours. Badly faded 'warning' signs are barely visible and hide a massive punitive fee. Greed and avarice once again by the outsourcing of making mo ey by stealth. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Do NOT Use this service station. Rip off

Just another services to stop on a long journey. The fuel price is blatant profitering at £189.9 per litre for diesel, some 25p per litre more expensive than other non motorway services and garages. Avoid if you need fuel.

Needed to use the toilet at 8 pm on Saturday evening. There are 9 cubicles in the male toilets - all were absolutely filthy, not been cleaned for hours. So I went to the disabled toilet which was little better. This is a fundamental requirement ror a motorway service station. If the food outlets can't open it's an inconvenience, if the toilets are not being cleaned it's a health and safety issue.

Got to the ordering point ok and then barely moved for ages. No idea how it can take so long to serve a few orders. One car was sat at the collection window for 10 minutes alone! While we were 2 cars away from the pay point, cars in the queues for the two ordering points were reversing out but we were trapped and couldn't go anywhere. The girl at the collection point had to ask me what drink and size I had ordered (duh!). Never using this one ever again. Oh well, at least the fries were hot. Small blessings.

Until a couple of months ago when entering the car park you used to go in the in and out the out. Apart from a few numpties who felt the urge to go the wrong way around the car park (ignoring the arrows on the ground), everything was orderly and you didn't risk you life walking from the car to the main building. Now you go in the ‘in’ which is some distance after the ‘out’ and each parking lane is two way. When you leave, two lanes merge into one and have to push out into the traffic wanting to enter the ‘in’. Additionally, as a pedestrian, you have to negotiate the entrance and exit to the new McDonalds drive through where, clearly, people drive somewhat hurriedly. Yesterday we bought a McDonald’s breakfast inside for the first time since the drive through was opened. Took 20-25 minutes from paying at the machine to receiving our goods. Apparently, when I asked when my order would be ready - given they were already calling numbers that were 30 behind (i.e. ordered after) ours - the wait was due to ‘waiting on the porridge’. I had seen them ‘give away’ our porridge order to the drive through a couple of times. They never apologised or even gave an indication of how long we’d have to wait. Presumably this was because they didn’t know what might be ordered by those using the drive through. So, if you don't need the loo either don't stop at these services at all (my recommendation) or use the McDonalds drive through (where you can be served the food for those waiting inside).

New drive thru is terrible! Very long wait of 10+ mins after ordering despite there being only 4 cars in front, and when the food came both burgers were cold, and the drink was wrong. Of course, you only discover this whilst driving down the road so no chance to complain and get the order changed. I’ve used the main restaurant before and service is slow but food normally hot at least. Will not be using the drive thru ever again.

My wife and our two dogs stopped off for a McDonalds at this services. It was quite busy and the waiting time was delightfully filled by a member of staff who was engaging, erudite, entertaining for the children and had a positive outgoing personality. He made our visit a total pleasure. Well done!

Didn't eat there, just got a coffee. Serving staff friendly even at 7.00. Able to top up water and check tyre pressure.

The most incompetent staff I have ever witnessed. 5 of them were present and all just stood around chatting. I could see that my order had been made and it was just sitting there, with the staff not paying any attention. Another customer complained about his cold chips and to check a member of staff picked up a chip, said it was cold and threw it back into the fryer. Employing young staff is great but there needs to be an older manager on site.

This was great food for fast food. The service was fast and prices were reasonable. This is as you would expect for fast food. The hash browns were great.

Upon visiting i witnessed the manager believed to be called Richard shouting at a member of staff reducing her to tears while on the shop floor, from what I could see all she was doing was her work and as the shelf was pretty high...

The staff on the front of house were very rude. There was also a lot of eye rolling and whispering from the two members of staff handing out orders when asking for the correct sauce and a straw. Very rude and uncomfortable visit.

Asked for 2 lattes, one with normal milk and one with soya milk. I explained I was allergic to milk, and the message was not conveyed to her colleague, except to mention soya milk. I said to the member of staff that I was allergic to milk again, and the staff looked at me blankly. I explained that normally that I get informed about traces, but the machinery will be cleaned, the reply was “oh yeah we do that”, this instilled no confidence in me. When the cups were passed to me, I was not told which cup had soya milk in, I had to ask. The member of staff did ask if I wanted it marked, after I mentioned it, but it would have been safer to be told in the first place which was the soya free. I advise if you are going to use this service, please ensure at every process that you mention your allergies and ask which is the allergen free product. I was made to feel that I was an awkward customer, and they did not convey confidence in what they were doing.

On recipe of my order I wasted no time at all and ripped into the brown bag. I could tell as soon as my fingers clutched the perfectly wrapped DS&E that I was piping hot; I was so excited! My first bite was a dream it was ,as anticipated, at the absolute perfect temperature and had been constructed with such care and professionalism. It was moist and brilliantly seasoned. The hash brown was a little limp but who cares! Excellent job the staff of Rowhams M27 service station! I can’t wait for my next visit.

We stopped here for the loo and a bite to eat. Chose McDonalds. Wish we hadn’t ! Wifeys filet o fish was dry and barely scared with tartare sauce. My Big Mac was thrown into the box with most of the components loose in the box. Nice fries though...

Usé el disco por primera vez; y pésimo servicio. El chocolate caliente de la Selva Negra era 50 p más caro que otros cafés costa y no me lo dijeron hasta que tuve que entregar mi dinero como pantalla cuando se rompió el pedido. Todo el jarabe y el chocolate en polvo estaban en el fondo y no obtuvieron el chocolate rallado para la parte superior que esperaba.

Es tradicional el penúltimo domingo antes de Navidad, nos damos el gusto de comer un almuerzo y simplemente no había ningún lugar más sofisticado que este lugar que ofrece tiendas y restaurantes bajo un mismo techo con 2 horas de estacionamiento y baños gratuitos. Después de una cuidadosa consideración, seleccionamos el restaurante McDonald's, ya que ofrecía una fantástica selección de comida a buenos precios, además de servicio de mesa. Seleccionamos una caja de 20 nuggets de pollo para compartir con 6 salsas, 3 de curry dulce y 3 de agridulce. Para acompañar esto, seleccionamos una porción mediana de papas fritas y para lavarla, 2 cafés con leche grandes. Qué impresionante Neal, las patatas fritas y sazonadas a la perfección, el café delicioso y una sorpresa fantástica cuando abrimos las pepitas, no las 20 que pedimos, sino las 22. Este restaurante sin duda sabe cómo cuidar a sus clientes. Tengo que decir, sin dudarlo o sin ninguna sombra, si alguna duda, este McDonalds no es uno de los mejores, es muy recomendable y es tan sofisticado como cualquier restaurante que pueda visitar. Impresionante almuerzo.

Although it has had some money spent recently, it is still a very poor quality place. If there was an alternative we would go there. The Costa should have national standards, but this is very poor. The service is slow and careless, the coffee somehow is not good and the cakes and snacks are dried up and expensive. There is no alternative, so in future, we will bring our own coffee and sandwiches and sit in the enormous car park.

On our way to Bournemouth so called in for a quick coffee.. It’s clean enough and good toilet facilities. Reasonable size car park but not massive. Usual fast food services with shared seating and coifed shops. Small Spar with general goods, milk and bread etc.. so it served our needs.

In a very convenient location at the M3/M27 intersection and with a massive car park.

We stayed overnight in our camper van as had arrived in the area very late. Better signage needed to explain how to pay for parking, thankful for 4G as needed to download an app to pay.

Travelling westwards, this was okay. Travelling eastwards the following day was, regrettably, as bad as ever: there were four members of staff behind the counter at Costa Coffee, plus one person clearing the tables *incredibly slowly*. Bearing in mind this is a big company and presumably the same training for employees at Waterloo station as for motorway services, I expected there to be someone taking orders and a partner barista. Unfortunately, not.

Visitamos Costa en esta estación de servicio y es la peor Costa que hemos visitado. La comida y la bebida eran muy caras. Las sillas en las que esperábamos sentarnos estaban sucias. El piso parecía que nunca se había limpiado y la bandeja en la que se servía la comida y la bebida no se había limpiado durante semanas. Finalmente, el miembro del personal cuyo trabajo parecía ser mantener el lugar ordenado tenía suficiente grasa en su ropa para freír un huevo. Absolutamente repugnante y esta no es la primera revisión para hacer estos comentarios. Costa no tiene orgullo

A reasonable place for a quick stop-off, en-route home. There's WH Smith, McDonalds, Costa, etc. If you plan to have a coffee and some water for the road, better to do it at the Costa, because the bottled water is only £1 extra per bottle, whereas, in the WH Smith, it's £1.75. We had coffee at the Costa - medium black Americano and a latte. Pricey enough for what you get, but that's the convenience of a roadside location which has a captive market of travellers.

A nice McDonald's lunch, chicken mayo with cheese and coffee x2. Nice views too. Our normal Costa lunch, £12.40 at Lyndhurst was over £16 and petrol 1.51 a litre, rip more expensive than Asda.

Sorry to say, today's coffee experience was poor. Flat Whites were more like milky cappucino and at nearly £10 for two Flat Whites and a croissant, way over the top. At my local cafe, I get two perfect Flat Whites and a croissant for £6.75. On a positive note however, the staff were charming and attentive!

There are plenty of places to get fast food but it’s all very dated. The main thing is not to buy any petrol. It’s really expensive. Best avoided unless you are desperate to stop.

Disgusting services. Today no toilet paper in the toilets, reported to Costa “not managed by us”. The other thing to be aware with Costa is they charge a convince charge at their drive through. If you want a poor experience stop here!

Stopped off to buy a Big Mac Meal at McDonalds was not disappointed with quality of food.

So on our way back from a great holiday and thought let’s stop off for a bite to eat. Only to be greatly dissapointed by cold McDonald’s fries, a soggy burger and an extremely bitter chocolate milkshake. Thought they could redeem themselves with a McFlurry only to be dissapointed once again due to the bitty texture and no sauce in it even though it was meant to have some!

If you need a quick snack you have little choice Mcdonalds you know what you are getting and Costa coffee is expensive for a sandwich and coffee

Dropped in for a coffee at Costa today around noon. Fairly empty but a good cup of coffee and the tables etc were all cleared down and clean. A great improvement on our last visit when it was grubby with detritus under the tables.

It was just a motorway services except for the great man clearing the tables at McDonald's. He was I credible and so customer focused.

Crowded, poorly planned and oppressive.. this busy service station is in need of a bulldozer !! If you have to use the toilet or grab a coffee it’s a facility but anything more please avoid until they improve it !!

Lovely fresh food, such polite and pleasant service very efficient. Big thumbs up for the breakfast baps. Had the sausage and the bacon baps....Cooked well, non greasy. Kids really enjoyed it. Kids Under 10’s eat free when an adult is having a main meal,breakfast row full meal is purchased. Forget the Golden Arches brand next door-this is the place to go!

My wife and I just popped in for a quick comfort break, tea and a toasty. Whilst Rownhams is in the category of a somewhat jaded older service station area, the Costa section was fine and met our immediate requirements. The whole area could do with a freshening up to be honest but ok for a quick pit stop

Travelling home we realised we needed to eat. We ordered using the touch screen and had it delivered to the table as it was quite crowded. After the food arrived we realised we were missing 4 items off of the receipt so had to go and ask for them. When leaving we ordered 3 Apple pies to go, got to the car and realised they were tepid and not hot. Ok we managed to eat, but I had to reassemble my burger when it arrived (sorry but I like the burger *in* the roll and not hanging out one side), and it should have been easier to get all of our food and be hot when it was delivered.

Having bought the food earlier, we stopped here and found a decent outside space to eat. Car park wasn't huge and it was busy. Toilets were clean and lots of them.

Called in Saturday evening 21.7.18 after a day out looking for a meal and a drink. Had just turned 10pm and shocked to find Costa closed; Spar closed; Chozen noodles closed; fresh food cafe closed. Only thing open was W H Smiths and McDonalds. Very very poor provision...maybe technically we could get a hot drink and something to eat but I do not think McDonalds alone really deserves the advert of Services open 24hrs.I also could not find anywhere that stated opening and closing times of the various concessions. I will not be visiting there again.

Just a plane simple mcdonalds stopped off here for some breakfast it was clean and tidy sevice was very quick and it was tasty. Price was normal as well did not seem to charge anything more which i find these sites do

This was the first services we found on the A27/M27 going west. It's hard to see what it has from outside, where it only says Entrance. Once inside, there are limited food options, including a Costa and McDonald's. We had some McDonald's on the lawn in the sunshine. It was OK, but nothing special

Disorganised / poor service / refund requested - other customers were also complaining about the wait for food and the poor quality - disappointing !

Stopped on our way home for a light snack, the customer service was very poor, and the food not much better, would use one of the other outlet next time.

Don’t do it - ridiculous price hike “for being on the motorway” was the assistants reasoning yet we didn’t even sit down in the place. My advise drive on to Moto at Winchester where prices are what you pay in High Street. If your in the AA you get a 20% discount too!

Popped into Rownhams on the way to visiting family today and decided to get a drink from McDonalds to break the journey up.

I travel a lot down this route and often stop for a costa coffee. The service has become very offhand and rude lately. It wasn't just me they were doing it to everyone i saw them service. Shame as the actual coffee is still good.

You get to the services and you, of course, get fast food and sandwiches... But Rownhams give you freshly prepared food all at a price that you would find in any Cafe or pub... And when you can get two meals for £11 then you have s deal!

This drive-thru is excellent, the team are always so friendly and happy to serve. I've swapped to this site for my daily coffee - Ania & Tasha are always great; nothing is too much and they generally care about my day/order.

Once again our coach tour operator insists we have an hours break here which is far too long. Found it clean and tidy, although fairly cold. Disable toilet was clean and once inside all level access.

Only popped in for a quick toilet stop and bite with the family on the way home from a weekend away.

And, apart from good standard toilet/washroom facilities, that's the only positive thing that can be said. The Northbound refreshment facilities were very limited and very expensive. Almost £10 for two small coffees and a small packet of biscuits at Costa, one coffee costing £3.19 compared with £2.35 at other Costa outlets. When the price was questioned a grinning counter assistant responded that we were paying "motorway" prices, but a 40% markup to sit at a cluttered and uncleared table is a bit excessive even for Costalota. We chose Costa expecting to be seated comfortably, but we should have gone to the McDonalds and taken the drink back to our car. This, of course, is not the desirable option when you are undertaking a long journey and need a break from your vehicle.

We stopped here out desperation as the children were starving, after the dreadful food we would rather of stayed hungry.The tables were sticky we had to wait for food which when it finally turned was lukewarm,under cooked sausages and cold toast.please dont bother wasting your money as it wasnt cheap either.

Overpriced crappy food in a substandard service area. We stopped for a cooked breakfast which is only available on the west bound side of the motorway unless you want Macdonald's

Got mine and hubby's meal wrong. Didn't seem that bothered. My replacement was uncooked - just raw chopped up mushrooms. Food quality poor and customer service poor. Won't go again.

What can I say!! I visited the Fresh Food To Go (or something like that) within this place. The service - and this was what I would call self service - was terrible while waiting to place our order we were totally ignored as the staff behind the counter chatted. The food was delivered to our table and was of very poor quality even allowing that it is inexpensive. Generally the place looks poorly looked after. Give me Little Chef any day!!

Always seem to have the misfortune to stop here when on a coach holiday. I liked the new toilets, including the disabled ones. These were clean. Good to see improvements are being made. Very surprised to find they will charge £4.00 per hour when practically everywhere else give free access. The prices are also very high compared with normal shops.

A small but decent services with a cafe, McDonald's, Noodle bar, WH Smith's and a Spar. Decent toilets and plenty of seating. If you were just looking for a drink they now have a drive thru Costa Coffee!

Paused here for coffee and a panini recently. Great service from the team at Costa - really friendly staff and I got the impression that nothing was too much effort, all I had to do was ask. Coffee was great too, loved the extra shot. Will use this one more frequently when I'm travelling to Fareham in future.

We stopped here for a cold drink on the way to our holiday. Never having been here before, we were pleased at how clean and pleasant the services were. We used the restroom, which were clean and well maintained. And got drinks from McDonald's. Always consistently good and great value for money.

Westbound Roadchef - Absolutely awful for service and food! We ordered 3 breakfast meals on a Sunday morning and when they arrived the bacon and sausage was cold and still raw, the hash brown was freezing in the middle and generally really poor for the price, took it back and got a refund. No other choice but to have a McDonald's as wanted something hot, boy was that a mistake! 20 minutes wait in the queue to finally be served by some girl that really didn't want to be there and couldn't be bothered! Manager standing behind her had the same mentality. She mucked up our drinks order, so had to start again, but hey, lets waste as much time as possible so I don't have to serve anyone else and keep everyone queuing for as long as possible!! Finally got back to the car to eat it and realised she had forgetting something from our food order. Really, really poor experience, do not stop here!
