Rowans Deli in Glasgow City

I’ve just went in to your Cumbernauld Road branch for lunch. There is no organisation in this branch what so ever, I was asked several times to repeat my order due to my order being handled by several members of staff, I was given individual parts of my order one at a time and expected to hold them all when the girl could visibly see if was too much for one person to hold. I then had my full order and it still hadn’t been put through the till, when I left the store and got home, I live on Cumbernauld Road, both of the Panini were cold, the three soups I ordered weren’t even half full and the tuna on the roll may as well have not been there. The only excuse your staff had for all the mistakes they make today, whilst I was in store, not only with myself but multiple customers was that it’s busy - I’m sorry but if your not prepared for a cafe to be busy on a Saturday afternoon that’s a cause for concern. Won’t be back and used your Budhill store for years without any issue.

Got food from here today soup was cold panni had hardly any filling on it gammon salad roll hardly any salad on it a young vo experience member of staff will not be back and would advice people not to use your shop

Got an order for soup and it tasted burnt and what was meant to be a roll with roast pork with coleslaw turned out as a roll with turkey and black pepper

Fab place to pick up your lunch! Hot and cold food made fresh while you wait. Warning however please avoid if on a diet or if you have poor willpower as the cake selection is unresistable. Prices are reasonable too and staff are friendly and clean.

Soup was disgusting and crumbed ham roll full up with coleslaw and very little ham

Shocking!!! I paid £2.15 for a roll and square sausage with onion, and the sausage was about 3mm thick. Won't be back that's for sure. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts are very nice and so is the salad rolls.

Food is always fresh and hot very busy shop around lunchtime

I got a roll & bacon. The bacon was really great quality thick cut bacon and a nice fresh soft roll. I didn't have any sauce so the roll could have done with some butter on it, would be my only criticism. But overall it was really good. I enjoyed it. They sell a lot of fresh pastries and cakes which are well presented in the counter they all look good quality as well. It seems a nice wee place to get a bite to eat and I got the impression it was very popular with the locals. The staff are nice and friendly. I will efinitely will come back when I'm in he area, I would like to try some there other other food. I was a nice wee find for me. 10/10

Good food, clean shop with friendly staff. I really enjoyed my takeaway lunch.

Ordered a Chicken kebab and waited over half an hour for it, when it came it was cold, the service was poor, I waited a while before being served when I first arrived in the shop. Think they can do better than this.

Asked for 2 rolls with cheese and onion I Got hit with a cheese slice with onions and it cost me £5.00 , what a joke Very slow service too, always waiting waiting waiting waiting Ridiculous , ill never go back

Use to love this Delhi but my god has it went right down hill last week ordered Stornaway black pudding with bacon 30 minutes later a was giving basic black pudding then had to wait a further 20 minutes service was shocking coffee was barking ordered a salt and pepper toasted wrap with spicy mayo got home the chicken was solid no mayo and tasted like cardboard. Today well a whole new level asked for well done bacon fried tomatoe get home bacon wasn’t lucky to have been cooked for 5 minutes chewy white and the smell was disgusting. Don’t think I have actually ever received the correct order but today was the last straw the food wasn’t cooked at all. Management really need to sort this out. Never will I be returning here again waste of money such a shame coz it use to be my favourite place, on a positive note the shredded ham is a amazing.

Super staff, friendly and helpful. Food tasty and reasonable prices. Had very good peri peri chicken wrap.

Just a quick question my sister came for a salad box and was charged 6.50 is this correct it was dry chicken tikka and a small bit of tikka mayo also

I’ve been going to this wee cafe for a few months now and in this time I’ve build a good wee rapport with staff when I enter they always say hello and make you feel very welcome . All the staff are very hard working and always full a laughter to do that all day shows how good they are especially with some customers they’ve had to deal with. I’ve read a few bad reviews which i think is harsh. I’d also like to say a wee mention for our Karen she’s a diamond gal and she has the gift of the gab in a good and funny way, keep u0 the good work girls oh and the guy who cooks also .

Always good service and the food is lovely. They have a good range from your breakfast rolls, salad rolls, wraps, panini's, toasties, baked potato, chips and sauces, pizza, pies, Bridie's etc pop corn chicken, chilli cheese bites, mozzarella sticks. Cakes, crisps, chocolate and tea, coffee, soft drinks and water. There is something for everyone and prices are good. They have other options but think you get the point, oh 1 of my faves cheeseburger.

Amazing wee place does everything from sandwiches soups burgers full cooked breakfast rtf the lot defo worth a visit prices very decent as well n food quality always good I've found so far.

Got a toastie and chips and cheese was very good along with a cake from the quality selection of cakes they have.defo a 10 out of 10.staff very friendly and welcoming.will be going back again for breakfast/lunch keep up the good work girls. I had been using rowans for years as my go to place for lunch and its great. Great selection and nice food. My gripe would be the staff, i have had different members of staff make up my basic rolls and get it wrong almost everytime. I have just got back from the shop after having to correct the girl as she was filig my rolls with the wrong contents, and my colleague has just noticed his salad filling is completely missing from his rolls. Maybe it would help if the staff wrote things down and also knew the prices so they are not guessing at the till.

Cheapest sausages ever .for £1.75 for roll sausage they should be better quality, look like farmfoods best 99 pence shocking..looks nice inside.pity

Always get exactly what you want from Rowans. Staff are lovely and food is great.

Used this shop often always decent rolls due to Covid you get served at door a always phone order shops clean foods good staff always got a smile on face one wee woman who works there when you phone she’s funny as in a grumpy but nice way god a will get poisoned from her next time a go in 3 rolls n bacon 2 danish and can a coke wee woman danish are boring end up way big cream donut and big cream cake tell lassie am going to be in trouble as she’s on a diet was told to tell her all our cakes are diet cakes can see my Mrs dancing on the rolls and cakes f...g diet cakes smashing wee place for a munch and always good defo best in area

Ordered a roll and sausage this week and was given a roll and slice. It was burnt to a crisp and about half the size it should have been due to that. Today I waited over 25 minutes for my roll and sausage with potato scone, onle for the woman to give my roll to someone else 'by mistake'. Annoyingly, they couldn't even make me a new one because the last 2 sausages were on that roll. Barely an apology, she couldn't have cared less either if you ask me. To make matters worse, my boyfriend ordered a roll with bacon, scone and fried egg and the bacon was burnt black, and the fried egg was so over cooked that the 'runny' yolk had turned to a weird yellow rubber. Wont be going back.

Went in queue behind my work colleague, girls at food counter were soo busy gabbing they assumed I was with my friend and served the customer behind me. So I waited till he was finished and when the girl asked who's next I clearly stated can I be served please? Again ignored by a girl with glasses and she served the girl next to me in the queue. I noticed the blonde girl with baseball cap look around as I said at that point, am I invisible. She didn't say, I'll get you next, just went back to preparing a roll. So I assumed when she finished she'd make sure I was served. Nope ignored again and she headed to the till to ring up an order. I left and headed to Greggs across the road were staff are trained on the importance of customer service.

I was in recently and was extremely shocked at the lack of knowledge staff working in Rowans Deli have regarding Allergen advice. I have a severe peanut allergy so it shocked me that they could not tell what nuts was I had orignally ordered marshmallows as a topping on my mint ice cream but declined quickly when I noticed they served an unlabbled unidentifiable nut/ peanut as a topping also. Because they couldnt tell what it was the lady that served me opened the jar and tried one this could have been very dangerous for me as I was standing quite close I had to actually take a step back. And also as that had happened the icecream cup had the contents scooped out and put into another cup this had already been sitting for a minute and a half the least the girl who was asked to serve me because the other lady's hands had been contaminated from touching the unlabbled nut/peanut ingrediant could have given me a fresh scoop. By EU and UK Law resturaunts and Catering establishment should be able to share realivant information regarding allergens in the food that they serve so people with allergies can make a safe informed decision regarding a food order. I would be inclined to be very cautious eating at Rowans Deli in the future.

The cakes are amazing! Cappuchino is good. Always get a soft filled roll, everything is fresh ! It is so cheap
