Was in Redcar and looking for a coffee and something to eat and found this place on tripadvisor. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area. The place has a warm homely feel to it. Service, food and coffee was faultless!

Never been but one of the mechanics tried to sort my mechanical in Loftus yesterday as he chanced to walk by. Sadly to no avail but not for want of trying (and very dirty hands). Good effort!

Visited for breakfast. I had the full English, my wife scrambled eggs on toast. My breakfast was good but only had choice of scrambled egg and not my usual fried. My wife got a large portion of eggs and toast but thought that the eggs were a bit dry. The flat white coffees were large and very good. The staff were all friendly and helpful

The smoothie I had there was so sweet and so good. The guy was nice too!

Didn't eat so I can't comment on food but it looked like there was cake and hot choices. Clean warm and toilet available. My friend and I just met up for a coffee, everything is brought to your table and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will go again.

As a carer I have attended this business on a few occasions on their social call. We have thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Always a clean environment, a relaxing place to visit and a great service. Will visit again at the next opportunity

Just popped in for a quick coffee before an appointment. Great coffee- proper coffee. Although I didn’t have anything to eat it all looked very nice and clean.

Went in today for the first time and got a toasted teacake and a cup of tea, ended up with a brownie to takeaway as they looked so good! Lovely service, chatted to a really nice gentleman who worked there too who was very friendly. Beautiful cakes and the whole restaurant is very clean. We will be back!

Visited this quirky cafe today whilst in Redcar. What a find! The staff are wonderful and attentive. I had a hot chocolate and biscoff tart, would highly recommend! They also have a bike repair shop on the side for bike fanatics!

Fantastic homemade food especially the soups and the best scones in the area. Great service which was efficient and with humour Reece and his staff were very welcoming. The place was also spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend and I'll be back at some point possibly on my bike. Thank you Route 1

Brilliant concept, a place to get your bike fixed and great coffee as well. Coffee and walnut cake, perfect for those not on a diet Staff are really friendly and the prices are very reasonable

We were really impressed with the service at Route 1 today. We have been before, but not recently. We were greeted at the door by a friendly member of staff who encouraged us to use the hand sanitizer and took our contact details. Despite this, it was still a relaxing break (unlike some places where they bark orders at you and staff seem to be stressed with the new procedures). The coffee and scones were lovely as usual. Everywhere was spotless.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, my only criticism is our table weren't cleaned there were crumbs and debris on it had to get out my own baby wipes from the baby bag to sort it, perhaps it was a one off though.

Very welcoming and friendly, aproachable, staff. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Baked potato with chilli and cheese, very tasty. Some beautifull vintage and more modern, bycycles refurbed and for sale, upstairs, all sold for a worthy cause. The knowledge of the bycycle mechanics was amazing and very helpful. Next time a coffee and a service for my bycycle.

Route1 is my favourite place in the town for food and drink, they provide a friendly and relaxing space and I wouldn’t want to spend my lunch break anywhere else. All the food is locally sauced and delicious. The staff working there are nice and friendly, I’ve yet to leave without someone saying goodbye. I like to go once a week but usually end up there a lot more.

Visted Route 1 Coffee House last Friday with my husband. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service was excellent. We ordered coffee and toasted sandwiches whice tasted yummy. We will definitely return to this lovely local business when we visit Redcar again.

We visited Route 1 for the first time on Thursday 4th July and we were so impressed by the beautiful coffee we returned two days later for some cake too! My wife had a Black Forest muffin and I had a thumping great slice of carrot cake! Of course we sampled each other's cake! Both were, fresh, moist and tasty. Supported by a couple of cappuccinos it was perfect. The customer service and enthusiasm of all the staff is of the highest level I've encountered in years, anywhere. It's also supporting a great cause. A must to try! After the first visit you'll be hooked!

Just visited here today and super impressed. We have been to a number of cafes over the years when visiting relatives and nothing compares to this. Super friendly, very accommodating and lovely food, drinks and cakes. Children's meals great value money. Overall by far the very best cafe in Redcar and I would say the surrounding area. Thanks so much.

For some strange reason, this place has dropped under the radar when we have been visiting Redcar, which is a pity as it’s a very good cafe. It is roomy, tidy and has a good range of seating options.

Often pop in with my parents on a Saturday lunchtime, staff are always very friendly and helpful, it can sometimes be a little busy but there is upstairs seating available. Food is always very good, even picky eaters like myself can find something! Pricing is very reasonable and the coffee is lovely, it's a brilliant little set up. Also it's really interesting to see the push bikes they've fixed and the different ways they've used parts for decoration to re-purpose the ones beyond repair.

Wonderful service and a milkshake that can only be described as banging. You could feel the ice cream as you drank. Everyone should come in and enjoy.
