We had our Sons birthday party here and Ed managed to guide 12 5-6 year olds through making delicious cakes and pizza. If anything we thought the price was too cheap for what we got. A table full of food on top of the food the kids made and 2 hours with a professional baker All the kids loved it, much better than yet another soft play party. Thank you Ed

Stopped here for a sandwich expecting to pay around £3 but was pleasantly surprised to see a ham & cheese savoury in a sourdough Bab for £1.70!! I added to my order a cappuccino & a giant piece of walnut cake. Very tasty and happy with my selections. I will gladly support this local find in the near future.

I was looking everywhere in the Guisborough area for an Afternoon Tea that could be delivered for my mams birthday. Most places were closed cos of lockdown. I was told about the Brickyard Bakery, so emailed them. Ed, the owner, could not have been more helpful. I ended up purchasing an Afternoon Tea for 2. This included a mix of sweet & savories & sandwiches. The variety and the quality was amazing. There was soooo much food. I think it kept them going for 2 days!! The surprise was made even more special by being delivered by Ed himself, wearing his mask, singing Happy Birthday on my mams doorstep. The whole experience really did make my mams day. Thank you so much Brickyard Bakery. I was so impressed with the service, & I think my mam and dad are definitely big fans now. Great quality, so much food & variety, for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Cannot praise enough. Apart from all of the baking being outstanding the systems they have put in place for covid are excellent. All money goes into a disinfectant dish which they dry and stock their till from. Orders are delivered to the door for No additional cost and all social distancing is observed. Staff in the shop are excellent. The loaves (which I buy every few days) are just to die for (and I’m getting very fat as a result of). Definitely recommend and hope oriel will support post-covid.

This very attractive coffee shop is situated next door to the splendid artisan bakery. The interior is very cosy indeed, with old, dark wood furniture and a delightful lounge area in the corner with an old standard lamp and various other bits and pieces that evoke all the style and comfort that I associate with the 1950s.Service was welcoming and the menu contains a good selection of hot and cold snacks as well as the splendid produce from the bakery next door. We just had tea and scones and it was all very good. As expected, the tea was served in an old china pot with dainty china cups, milk jug etc. We elected to share a cheese scone and a fruit scone and, quite simply, these are as good as scones get. They were very large and very tasty indeed. I also liked that the cheese scone was served with a small pot of chutney, while the fruit scone came with two different types of jam. The prices were most reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I had to meet for a meeting regarding my volunteering, so met on neutral ground! Business done we moved on to coffee and scones, my cheese scone came with butter and a little pit of very acceptable chutney, my colleague had a fruit scone with jam and cream. The scones were excellent and on the larger side. I have had scones half the size for more money elsewhere. The coffee was very good and hot which makes a refreshing change, again other establishments serve tepid, at best, coffee.Overall a successful visit. The menu is fairly comprehensive and reasonably priced. All the bread, cakes, tea cakes and scones, not to mention the quiches and pies are all made on the premises.Good value.

Popped in here for a spot of brunch and was delighted by the quirky, not everything matching approach. Sadly, I chose badly with my choice of meal but my companion adored their food. Love the big ceramic teapots they serve the tea in and the range of cakes which almost needed a menu of its own! The cakes were fabulous and when we left, we nipped next door and bought some cheese scones to take away with us. A gem of a place and definitely worth a visit

What a lovely find. We called in to the Brickyard Bakery on 09.03.2019 not knowing the town and just looking for a lunchtime snack before heading up Roseberry Topping and, immediately, on entering, we were hit (if that's the right word) by the absolute sense of calm and relaxation. Admittedly, there were few customers when we arrived but the tranquil dinner jazz playing quietly over the sound system and the real unhurried atmosphere was delightfulA young (that's showing my age), charming, young man took our order of 3 hot sandwiches - a feta/sunblush tomato, a cheese/caramalised onion, and a humus along with a coffee and two soft drinks and we thoroughly enjoyed a chat and a catch up with our son, studying at Middlesbrough University, whilst we waitedNothing seemed rushed but then we didn't have any sense of waiting too long either. Our order arrived after a short pause and it was all to a very high standard each with a nice salad and dressingThis is a truly lovely place, with 1940s/1950s tables, chairs, furniture and a lovely, seating area set up like a living room all of which creates a sense of being waited on in your own home, and the prices are very reasonable tooSo glad we called in and will definitely be back again if/when we're in the area
