Went in with my wife for lunch. Only thing that tasted ok was the coffee. I ordered a backed potato with coronation chicken. The potato was inedible, chicken was ok. Cutlery must have came from Ikea. Knife could not cur butter, not surprised, the skin of the potato was brick hard. Plates were very small to make you think it was a large portion. Prices matched a hotel on High Street. Never Again. Park is nice for a walk but Indian run coffee shop was disgusting.

Worst experience ever, horrible manager (blonde old woman) she’s very unprofessional and rude! please spend your money elsewhere! It’ll be way cheaper and better quality I promise. They reuse unopened condiments even if they’ve been sitting on dirty plates for hours. They add fees everywhere such as 20ml of milk 30p, a portion of butter 20p etc. all the cakes are frozen, nothing is fresh at all !!!! Most unhygienic and uncomfortable place I’ve ever been.

Not great, when going to pay for order, the asst charged which came to £48.80 !, then when we went to walk away she said hadnt noticed pkt wafers on tray so charged then again. When food arrived something was missed off our order when we asked the asst to get it and told him girl hadnt taken order correctly, he said oh you will need to get it yourself so I had to leave my warm meal to go cold and go stand back in the que to order portion chips for grandson which charged 3.90 so all in lunch was £55.70.Not impressed to be honest-also portion size small

Entered the cafe and there were two tables available both with two tables joined together and about 4 trays full of plates and rubbish piled on each . Bad enough no one was cleaning this mess !!!!! Cleared it ourselves , wiped the table ourselves and sat down. Looked at the menu! Ordered two wraps with a few crisps , spoonful of coleslaw and a tiny bit of lettuce and cucumber with a dash of dressing. A fruit shoot and a volvic water and got charged over 19 pounds for this …. WTF ? A total rip off … even for Giffnock. Avoid this place …. You have been warned …. !!!!!

Recently visited for lunch in the updated cafe in Rouen Glen Garden Centre. Really impressed with the new decor and seating, very modern and fresh. We had vegetable soup with a small bread roll, followed by a coffee and cake. All was delicious! Plenty of staff on hand serving and clearing and sanitising tables. Only negative point is that I would say everything is rather overpriced.

Thought I would have soup and a sandwich. The soup was reasonable even if it was only a dribble in the bottom of a small plate.I ordered a Coronation chicken sandwich, God only knows what I was served up with. It was disgustingQuite honestly if you want a coronation chicken sandwich go somewhere else. Not one member of the zombie staff thought of asking if I was enjoying my meal they were too busy walking around swinging cleaning sprays and avoiding going anywhere near their customers.I will never be back.Went to Morrisons and got a real coronation chicken sandwhich, certainly put this place to shame.

I was charged £8.10 for the meagre offering pictured below. The brown bread was of the "no frills" variety. Dry toastie, very little cheese and a couple of rings of onion. 4 ready salted crisps, again of the "no frills" variety. The type of salad you would you seen on a plate in the 70's. The coffee! I asked for a white Americano, he asked me if I wanted a white coffee, I said no, just give me a black coffee with a little splash of milk. When I sat down..... it was a latte. ♀️ this cafe should be ashamed serving up food that cheap at that price. Needless to say I wont be back.

Came here with some friends for a break after walking around Rouken Glen Park. On entry, no one seemed to be bothered about the track and trace form, but being good citizens, we filled in the form anyway and deposited it at the entrance. The place look clean enough. As many have mentioned, the place does look dated as it decorated like an old school British style cafe that probably has changed much since it was opened last century. There's plenty of options for snacks and meals, although each of us all went with coffee and a snack. I got a Mocha and an apple slice. The mocha was excellent and apple slice, felt soft and taste good. No complaints from any of my friends either.

When we went I was very surprised that we had to put our own details on a clipboard that was on the table before you went into the café, for track and trace. On arrival, the place seems ok (being surrounded by the garden centre helps) but we had to move tables for somewhere to seat out two year old as the high chairs were filthy. When the food arrived, all became clear with the place, this is actually a cheap food stall priced up to seem like something it’s not. The £6 chicken burger was just a tiny, frozen processed patty I wouldn’t pay 10p for in a supermarket, and the rest of the food was the same. Not a place I’ll ever visit again, and wouldn’t recommend anyone does.

The Garden Centre seems to be well run. The shop area inside is huge and has plenty of gardening related stuff along with Christmas displays in September, dried flowers, gifts, pet shop, garden furniture. The plant selection is not huge- it feels like the cafe is bigger than the plant area but the plants are in decent condition and there is a reasonable but not extensive variety. Urban garden centres like this need to diversify and this business has done this successfully. The restaurant is pretty good for meals and coffees and, of course, cakes.

I had lunch in here with two small children who had something from the kids menu and I had a coffee. The children’s food was very mediocre. The chicken nuggets and chips were pretty standard but the macaroni cheese was tasteless gloop. My coffee was poor. However what finished me off was ordering the kids a cone. The younger one can’t eat a whole ice cream before it all melts so I asked for an empty cone ( to put a little of the ice crea in) and was charged 80p. When I suggested this was a total rip off I was told that they ‘can’t give these away free as they are expensive’, That’s just nonsense. I was looking for it free anyway but 80p is outrageous. I did not like the attitude nor the feeling that I was being majorly ripped off.

Attended Xmas Event tonight with my family, after arranging with Cafe to provide a Gluten Free option (Coeliac Disease) we discovered on arrival that they had set this small table out with the rest of the Buffet (rather than keep it aside as discussed before buying tickets) and there was no food for my either my husband and daughter. We were really annoyed and upset as we had been looking forward to the entire event. My husband had medication he needed to take and has to take with food, cafe staff could only offer tea/coffee & would source a piece of GF cake so he could take his medication. They advised us to take up our grievance with the manager and ask for a refund of ticket. I approached the manager who agreed to give us a refund once I explained the situation. I then went back to the cafe to join my husband and daughter, were he had his tea and cake whilst taking his medication. The buffet looked delicious with mulled wine on offer too, but I was so annoyed that my husband & daughter couldn’t eat that I decided to just have a coffee with my family and leave. I picked up a 1/4 egg mayo sandwich, my daughter a plate of grapes and small irn bru. Once we finished we approached the manager who advised us that he was not prepared to give us a refund. He had been watching me/us the entire duration on Camera and said you had a coffee and cake, sandwich too. I was furious that he was monitoring us and again explained my husband needed to eat to take his medication and it was only a cake n cuppa, not the lovely buffet everyone else was enjoying. His response was “you had a sandwich and you put a cake in your handbag”. The cake was the half which my husband couldn’t finish as it was carrot cake which he doesn’t like. My tiny sandwich was 2 bites, barely enough to feed a mouse. Rather than being apologetic about the situation and their mistake at putting small Gluten Free option out with rest food which had been consumed by folk who ate, not for allergy reasons (Coeliac Disease) but for just a healthier choice, he said “I’m only prepared to refund one ticket and pushed £4 into my hand”

Visited today for a bite of lunch. After waiting 15/20 minutes for two baked potatoes which cost in excess of £15.00 my friend asked how much longer it would take to fill the order. She was advised that it would be another 10/15 minutes ! You may well be asking yourself "how long does it take to slice two potatoes and place a filling in them". After this time ran out she enquired yet again how long we'd have to wait only to be told it would be a further 10 minutes. At this point we decided to have soup as this was the only hot food instantly available. The cashier advised us we'd be due a refund of £8.00 . At this point we pointed out that perhaps as a good will gesture for having waited in excess of 35 minutes for food which didn't materialise that we shouldn't pay . After referral to the manager we received a refund of £15.00WE complained to management and were advised that the kitchen was extremely busy due to the high volume of diners in the restaurant. However, one would assume that at this time of the year management should have contingency plans in place for such an occurrence. Will I use their restaurant again? An emphatic NO !

Visited with my mum for a bite to eat and a coffee. The restaurant area is very outdated and rather tacky. The staff aren't particualrly friendly and the food is okay albeit vastly over priced. It is all self service and it feels like there is a focus on staff productivity rather than hospitality. We presented our tray for pricing and showed her the slip as our hot mains would be brought to the table. Upon our mains arriving we were told we hadn't paid for the soup despite it being on the slip and a roll and soup spoon on the tray. This caused a whole scene which wasn't needed and was entirely the cashiers fault. Issue resolved after paying more money and various members of staff visiting the table to apologise, mistakes happen but we were made to feel at fault. Too may good garden centres like Caulders, Hayes and even Dobbies to waste more money in here. It's a shame as used to be really good.

On arrival we ordered three soups, I was then asked if we'd like it with a sandwich which I thought, yip, I'm starving, why not. The two others just said they'd have the soup as it would be too much for them to eat. Wow. They shouldn't have been worried. When it arrived, I've never seen such an enormous sandwich..... One slice of bread with a small amount of grated cheese in it. That's it. Would have been better with the soup on its own that came with a bread roll. Far too expensive for what you're getting. Four quid for a bowl of soup that had been reheated more times than I'd care to imagine. Not tasty at all. I normally eat everything and rarely have an issue but I can safely say I will never be returning here for food again. I'm writing this while still in the 'restaurant', just about to leave and go for some lunch as that barely even registered. And I'm 25 quid lighter!

Like most garden centres anywhere, Rouken Glen has a coffee shop. It is a large cafe, which is good because it can get very busy on a weekend and during the school holidays. Bright and airy, fresh and modern, it has a great selection of teas and coffees, cakes, sandwiches and hot dishes. It has an outdoor section which is great in the finer weather. I think it's a little on the expensive side but then they have a captive audience really. But at least it's quite good quality.

I've been a regular visitor to Rouken Glen for many years, but sadly I have to say that it is going down hill. The pricing in the coffee shop is becoming a little un-realistic for the quality of the products offered and the quality of the service and surroundings. Always under-staffed at busy times, cleanliness suffers and food can be sent out to tables before you've taken a seat because the queue for hot drinks is ridiculous. Table service is not offered for drinks - if you could place a complete order, it would be far simpler. Home baking is still good, but unless I can go at quiet times, I've stopped bothering. Hot food portioning seems to be a little eratic, with general down-sizing seeming to be the tend, but with prices increasing. Most of the staff are lovely, though, if at times a little stressed. The garden centre itself is in drastic need of some TLC. Toilet facilities are a bit of a joke at times and the stock seems to have gone into an ealy 1990's time-warp. They always seem to be behind the times, and again, pricing can be a bit bonkers for what is on offer. Plant quality is often very poor, and someone really needs to assess how gift items are displayed. Christmas stock however, can be good and for early shoppers it's available from August! Popping in after a long walk in the park is fine, but no longer going just for the centre. Sorry, guys - but you need to get your act together a bit.

In "recent" years Garden Centres have latched on to the fact that in-house cafes/restaurants are money spinners and this is a prime example - especially at weekends when they are packed with families. Spacious, airy and despite the high footfall the staff keep the queues moving and tables are cleared regularly without appearing to hustle customers out when their meals are finished.

Just visited the coffee shop with the family, one of our regular weekend haunts but sad to say we won't be back. Did always think it was very overpriced for food that wasn't very good but after being majorly ripped off would definitely recommend Never Go There! My mum was overcharged for the Soup,Sandwich, coffee deal advertised on all the tables for £4.99 to be told that the deal wasn't on at the weekend by those serving the food. When she had paid she then discovered that the offer on the table didn't mention anything about that The Staff refused to refund the difference and said it had been a mistake to have the offer on the tables. when she again complained she was told to speak to the owner/Manager who in turn told her he apologised as the offer was indeed on at the weekend and it wasn't his fault that his,Staff had misunderstood that.He then refused to refund the overpaid amount on the bill saying it was too late and that we should have queried the bill at the Till - (which we did) Even THOUGH He Admitted we'd been overcharged. What a blatant disregard for customers and a wee visit to Trading Standards come next week In summary use the Garden Centre to get out of the rain and to use the toilets and bring your own picnic.

Service was slow but was busy got a sense of chaos about it . Place is very noisy - decent soundproofing ? Coffee was really nice but strawberry tart was soggy - a wee tip to staff - when replenishing cakes - take them out of factory packaging in the kitchen - in front of public takes away the mystique

Very fast service, pleasant helpful staff and good range of fresh food including a childrens menu. The actual restaurant is quite basic but clean and pleasant surroundings.I had the macaroni cheese, good sized portion and a nice salad with it. Service was very quick, and the meal was reasonably priced- £30 for a meal for five people (2 children) that included 2 starters and drinks. Would recommend and will be back.

A welcome break when spending time with trees and plants. Have been before and will be back. Good value for money.

We ordered a chicken tikka pannini for me, a chicken tikka wrap for my eldest son and chicken nuggets, chips and peas for my youngest son. The food was brought to the table in three batches with more than five minutes between plates. The childrens' meal arrived with beans instead of peas and had to be sent back. I haven't seen chicken tikka with as much red food colouring in a few years, the colour has no bearing on the taste of a tikka marinade and unnecessary additives should be minimised. We effectively dined separately. The place wasn't busy but tables were uncleared and spilled food was on the floor. Won't be back.

I visited with friends for lunch but won't be back. Dry bread, limp salad and unappetising looking food.

Food is lovely. Cakes to die for. Long counter area with different places for service. Staff not always available at all areas which sometimes means backtracking to show the next member of staff you find what you want from the previous counter. The lady on the till was very slow which meant that a queue quickly built up. The till was in an island area and as the bar round it was covered in boxes containing crisps etc couldn't rest tray and had to stand holding a heavy tray for quite a while.Tables were cleared very efficiently.

Occasionally visit the this garden centre with my elderly in laws for somewhere to get out rain on a wet Sunday afternoon. As i've been here many times over the last 20 years i have noticed that its not really moved with the times. The shop is a discombobulated mix of books, biscuits, ornaments, garden stuff and whole host of other overpriced consumerist garbage displayed in a vague and uninspired way to attempt to empty your pockets of well earned cash. This place badly needs an overhaul and a review of the sales business model to get new customers over the door. I only visit here under duress as my elderly in laws enjoy the blandness of this place. If you want garden stuff, do yourself a favour and go to the B&Q cathedral of consumerism in Darnley. At least that way you will knowingly get ripped off in a more pleasant and modern environment.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty quiet. The food was nice, the coffee was nice. Service was ok...but the place just lacked atmosphere. It's huge. Almost like a work canteen. The Garden Centre is great - but the coffee shop just average.

I have been going to Rouken Glen Garden Centre coffee shop since it was no more that a glorified garden shed. Over the years I have watched it expand into the venue it now is and have accepted the inevitable price increases. I visited yesterday, 3rd May, my first visit in a few months and ordered 2 lattes, an individual cake and a tray bake which on my last visit cost £9.60 - yesterday it cost a total of £10.30 !!! To add insult to injury that tray bake was a much smaller portion than on previous visits so the price increase is even greater!!!Will I visit again? Not at these prices.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch but felt slightly let down. Food was fine but not as good as on a previous occasion. Staff could have been a bit more welcoming and home baking not the usual standard. On the plus side, the food arrived quickly and was piping hot.

After a walk round nearby Roukenglen Park on a cold Sunday afternoon my wife, daughter and I had coffees here. The staff were polite, the £1.95 per cup was fair value and it was very busy with families of all ages. Perhaps some tables could have been cleaned more quickly but there was a constant stream of customers coming and going. I must compliment the Management on the freshness of the Gents. (Another well known Garden Centre company would do well to take note).

Nice garden centre in a beautiful park. Had a browse in the shop and bought some nice little things. Impressed with the offering in the cafe, decently priced and blown away with my cupcake yum! Best Christmas display I have seen in a Garden Centre def worth a visit for that alone.

If you happen to be in the garden centre and gasping for a cup of tea and don't want to walk round to the boathouse then this place is okay. No atmosphere, average food that is a bit more expensive than it should be.

The Rouken Glen Garden Shop has something for everyone, the plants, ornaments, furniture are of a superior quality. They also have a restaurant that is very spacious and sells lovely well priced food and is a nice place to sit with friends for lunch. They have the most amazing Christmas display ever and well worth a visit to marvel at all the lovely displays.

very popular and has high volumes of customer who come in droves to the visit the extremely garden/gift centre. The garden centre is particularly attractive at Christmas. However, because of its popularity,,the restaurant is very crowded and very noisy which might be OK if you have children . For a relaxed eating experience you might go elsewhere unless you are in for shopping as well. It is very good at what it does but I think a tad overpriced for the quality/quantity particularly where drinks are concerned.

Oh dear, where to start? So many things wrong here:The decor is tired looking despite it being recently refurbished. A very limited menu and very slow service. The serving staff seemed deeply unhappy to be working today and I don't think I saw a smile from anyone during our entire visit. The food leaves an awful lot to be desired. I had a chicken mayonnaise sandwich that appeared to be made from shop bought sliced bread. The chicken mayonnaise actually had no taste, which I admit was a first. It was served with about 4 crisps and some sorry looking salad. My wife had a bland tuna mayonnaise sandwich that was equally underwhelming. One of our party had to go and chase down his order and was told that the waiter couldn't find the table (we were sitting right by the counter with a number in our table). By the time we left, I counted at least 12 tables (not including ours) that needed tidying away with rubbish, half eaten food and dirty plates lying waiting to be cleared. Two sandwiches, a kids sandwich and two cups of coke came to over £18. Massively overpriced for what we got. Will not be going back anytime soon.

I hired Crumbs to do all catering for my husbands 60th birthday party last weekend. I can't thank Donna and David enough for arriving with all the hot and cold food at the time I requested. I asked Crumbs to cater for approx 60/70 friends and family. It ended up over 100 friends arrived at our home. There was plenty of food for everyone and I received many compliments for the caterer. I'm only sorry I forgot to take a picture before I opened the buffet but I'm hoping either Donna or David took a picture as it was a fabulous buffet. Well done and many thanks to Crumbs x

First time visiting and came recommended. Met friends for brunch. 3 coffees and out order taken. Wasn't particularly busy and when we noticed another table that had ordered after us we asked for an update on our food and another round of drinks. Drinks came and no explanation given on food. When asked again was disappointed to receive abrupt response that food would be next to come out. Waited a further 10 mins for food. The food was delicious but customer service sadly lacking. Would not recommend. A simple acknowledgement would have gone a long way. We had to ask for the bill more than once. No tip given for the shortfalls in customer service.
