Roti in Norwich

Beautiful food in presentation and also in taste. My family really enjoyed our meal out.

Been here twice now and can't wait to go again! Cannot fault the food or the service. I'm in a wheelchair and the restaurant is accessible for me, and the staff are really helpful.

We first tried Roti In early January, the food took an hour to arrive and when it did, one of the meals was missing. When we phoned to tell them, they said it would take another hour to get a replacement meal sent out so we said not to bother. The owner of the restaurant Contacted us to apologise and sent us a full refund voucher. Earlier this month, we decided to use the voucher to give it another go. One of the chicken dishes turned up not cooked through. The chicken was pink in the centre and mushy and cold. When we contacted them, they asked us to send a picture which we did. They did nothing About it.

Such a shame this place has changed hands. Used to be one of the best in the city but not anymore. Poor quality and overpriced.

Came early but was welcomed in with doors opened before we even stepped into the restaurant, proper good service and staff and the food was lovley

Entrance door arrangement meant very cold air allowed in every time a customer came in or out, this resulted in most people in the proximity having to keep their coats on. Starter took ages to come, was served on a cold plate and accordingly was cold. Asked for replacement cutlery as wasn't replaced, asked for mint sauce which didn't arrive. Food was ok, Dhansak not sweet or sour enough, onion bhajees were tough, Cauliflower bhajee was 75% onion, rice was not fresh. Won't be returning l'm afraid.

Had an excellent takeaway this evening and have to give credit when credit is due. Super easy to order online. Welcoming staff upon collection. The food was of high quality and flavoursome. Everything from the naan to the chicken tikka in the curry. I have eaten here at the restaurant prior and had the same experience. Will be using this place from now on for both eat in and takeaway over others in the city. Certainly would recommend to anyone. Great job Roti.Keep it up.👍

Just had the most amazing take away! Stuffed! The quality is brilliant and the taste and flavour's are awesome. We have had many indians but this really is the best. A little pricey but you get what you pay for, really good quality produce. Thank you Roti for a lovely treat.

Quite lively on a Saturday night. Sizzling dishes looked amazing. Got a free beer at the end of the meal compliments of the house which was a lovely touch and a surprise

First time visiting Roti today. The selection on the menu was making it very hard to choose what to have. But, in Gavin and Stacey style, I had a Bhuna. (Although I went Chicken). A couple of appetisers, Onion Bahji and Chicken Pakora along with a Peshwari Naan. Okay.. I'm not a big rice guy. Notice it missing from my plate? That being said, Mushroom Rice was shared around the table. A couple of drinks along with a complementary one at the end sealed the deal. All in, this was a great experience, flavoursome dishes and a solid service.

This is an awesome place. The food is excellent and service to match. My favourite weekend treat! Try any of the lamb dishes with Nan - bhunna, karhai, curry - all really yummy.

Food was excellent and served up so well naans were cut into triangles which makes it easy to share .Staff were excellent friendly and informative we had a celiac in the group and they were excellent at answering dietary questions. Recommend 100% really worth visiting and good value for money loved it

I slept for over 12 hours after eating one of these gorgeous meals where usually I can only get 4 hours sleep at most. I felt beautiful and refreshed in the morning and now I have an extra hot lamb phall a few times a week. I also video taped it so that I can remind myself about how lucky I am to eat here hungry.Well done Roti !

Third time ordering from this brilliant Indian restaurant. Ordered at 5 by phone...asked for it to be delivered at 6.30. Arrived 6.33..(every time we have ordered it has always arrived the time we asked) Friendly, chatty delivery driver.We ordered 3 dishes. All spot on. Delicious. Not over priced. Big portion sizes. On par with Merchants of Spice. Defo worth the £££

I visited on 21 April 2021 at 8.pm to order a smashing lamb phall !Despite the young gentleman Waiter taking my order wanting to know why I was wearing a different style face mask because in his words " it looked strange " the meal ordered was fantastic.I have been here many times and do travel many miles to reach here and have no problem doing so. At the same times I pass many other Indian restaurants who are rubbish in comparison to Rotis and my advice would be to pop here.The meal was so fantastic that I have photographed it and stored it on my laptop so that I can look at it when I feel hungry and dream about the beautiful exotic ingredients.Definitely worth a visit ( before I eat them all! ).

My new go to curry house in Norwich. Been using this during lockdown for take away and I have always been impressed by the consistently high quality food. They are busy refurbishing the restaurant and so can’t wait to eat in once the rules allow.

We ordered an array of mild and spicy curries for takeaway and everyone commented on how tender the chicken tikka was. The Vindaloo was especially tasty and the heat wasn’t too overpowering. The Aloo Gobi was delicious and much recommended. Food was ready to pickup on time and was wrapped well - still hot by the time we got home.

We had a delivery recently (very unusual in our village!) and it was delicious! The whole experience was smooth and very friendly. Chelsie answered our questions about the dishes really promptly and the food arrived still very hot. The children declared it the ‘best curry ever’ - and there were empty plates all round! Very much looking forward to the next time, and to being able to visit the restaurant when we can. Thank you!

No other Bangladeshi restaurant delivers to us as we are outside Norwich. Food was hot and they made us a Paneer Vindaloo that was not on the menu. Really helpful friendly people. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Wow - what amazing service and the food was great ! Somebody in our village of Woodton asked if Roti would deliver , they agreed to come out to us if they got a few orders - within minutes of this being on our local community fb page it was obvious that we were all bored with the same takeaways and so wanted an Indian meal - throughout the process we were kept in touch with delivery times etc , everything worked brilliantly- the company even brought out separate drivers to assure the food was kept hot .Chelsie went out of her way to make it enjoyable - companies like this deserve to do well in these uncertain times - another date booked for April but also we can’t wait to visit when we are finally allowed

First time I have been here for a takeaway meal. Was very impressed. The food was tasty, with large chunks of well cooked meat, rich sauce and polite service. I like my Naans well cooked (not crispy enough for me) so this is the only reason I haven't given 5 stars. Will definitely go again.

The new owners sami and Chelsea have spent a lot of time and effort turning the rather drab decor into a very smart clean and welcoming dining experience the food is excellent and service second to none will be regular visitors when I'm norwich

The meal was excellent cam to my house early nice and hot and was the best iv had !Iv eaten here a couple of times and both times it was real good it’s a bit more expensive than some , but iv allways said you get what you pay for so it didn’t disappoint will be using this place again thanks guys

Due to me being morbidly obese, the barman offered me a whole table to myself and offered me an all you can eat for £25.I was over the moon with this and must have eaten about a quarter of my weight and a whole leg of lamb!The barman was also polite enough to call me both ' Sir and Mrs ' at the same time due to me being of the transexual communitywhile the waitress did the same. She also held my handbag for me when I came in which was nice.Lovely food and welcoming.

We’ve eaten in this fab restaurant on a number of occasions and each time are amazed that that our experience always exceeds the last! Even with the COVID restrictions and social distancing in place, Sammy and Chelsie (Management) have managed to make sure the restaurant still has a lovely atmosphere about it. Pure white table cloths, sparkling cutlery and even hand sanitiser on each table. Attentive waiters and just great authentic food. My favourite is the Chom-Chom, which you don’t find on many other Indian restaurants menu’s and they even gladly cooked my husband’s favourite ‘Bhari which wasn’t on theirs! Our group didn’t feel rushed and we all said that we are already looking forward to the next one! Thanks Sammy and Chelsie - your hard work is certainly shining through.

Estábamos buscando una nueva casa de curry para llevar para pedir una comida de cumpleaños y nos encontramos con Roti. Al llamar para hacer el pedido, el servicio fue muy amable y el proceso de pedido fue agradable y fácil. La comida se entregó muy rápido (alrededor de 30 minutos) y todavía estaba muy caliente cuando llegó (un toque agradable que la trajeron en una caja de calefacción). Una vez más, el conductor de la entrega fue muy amable y sonriente. En cuanto a la calidad de la comida, es sin duda la mejor comida india que hemos probado en Norwich. Todos optamos por probar algo nuevo, y la toma de decisiones se vio dificultada por la amplia variedad de especialidades del chef y curry clásico en el menú. En general, esta fue una experiencia fantástica y, de ahora en adelante, haremos de esto nuestro habitual.

Este lugar era realmente encantador, medidas de covid en su lugar, se sentía seguro, la comida era increíble, nada era demasiado problema para los camareros, los propietarios también estaban sirviendo y también tuvieron buenas conversaciones con ellos. Well prepared for COVID-19 restrictions, plenty of room between tables and clear floor markings. Food was very good, service was great - I'm sure we'll be back when we visit Norwich again.

This was an average bangladeshi meal. Nothing memorable but well served and reasonable. Standard fare.

We ordered our first takeaway last night after reading all the great reviews. We were sadly very disappointed. All the dishes tasted similar, prawn dishes over cooked and generally not what we expected. Very average. We will not be returning

Our first visit to Roti. We were very impressed with their adherence Covid regulations. Well spaced tables, hand sanitizer on each table, staff in very smart black masks. We felt very safe. We were also very impressed with our meals. Three of us, different curries, breads, tandoori dishes & side dishes. All delicious and attractively presented. We will definitely return and thoroughly recommend.

We visited Roti with our family. The food was delicious, on point service, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We all had different dishes which were served piping hot and we couldn’t fault a thing! We all walked out saying it was the best Indian we have had. We will be back!

This place is a must if you are visiting Norwich. We phoned to reserve a table and the lady on the phone was very polite and professional, the welcome when arrived was very friendly also. We had a group of 3 and the staff moved to tables together without an issue. The restaurant itself looks very classy with pure white linen and fresh painted walls. Social distancing was observed well with lines on the floor and masks were worn by the staff. The food was perfect! Portions were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They even packed up our leftovers for us to take away with us and the prices were reasonable too.The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, very cheerful and a pleasure to meet. At no point did we feel rushed to order or to leave and we all felt valued. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Norwich

We were warmly welcomed into the newly decorated and socially distanced Roti. It was our first visit. The warm poppadoms were accompanied by a tasty selection of dips, one of which we’d never had before. We chose our curries from an extensive menu, again with some intriguing new dishes but the owner advised us to order a different meat option which we did. The onion bhajees were the best I’ve ever tasted. The curries were great, full of flavour with nice chunky vegetables and tender meat. The rice was perfect and the naans were also the best. The owners and the waiters were so lovely and we enjoyed a great evening in their company. Next time we’ll disregard the menu and ask the owner for his recommendations! Couldn’t fault anything.

I’ve reviewed Roti previously and my opinion has not changed since December 2019. The food is outstanding, the staff are brilliant and the owner Chelsea deserves all good things to come her way. Has been redecorated recently, social distancing did not affect the atmosphere. If you love really good Indian food, try Roti, you won’t be disappointed.

I've eaten a lot of onion bhajis in my time and these were some of the best. The paratha was great too, as was the rest of the meal. My wife and I were also touched to see how kind the staff were to an elderly customer. Roti are doing a lot right.

Staying in Norwich fancied an Indian meal .went on trip advisor and the Roti had great reviews. On arrival was given a friendly hello covid explained and offered hand gel on our table. The floor was marked out for social distancing and our name and phone number taken. The place looked newly decorated. Lovely food. Lovely staff, lovely drinks, reasonable prices and port on the house at the end of our meal. We will defo be back next time in norwich

Probably the best Indian meal we have ever had. Really safe covid environment, hand sanitiser and staff regularly cleaning and wearing masks to serve. Super friendly staff and lovely conversation. The food was amazing. We have often driven past and thought about booking, glad we did. We will definately be back. Book a table you will love it !

Had the pleasure of eating at roti this week and was impressed by both the food and the service. There was a minor problem with our food which was noticed not by us but by the owner who corrected it immediately. Im lactose intolerant and often find it unnerving and difficult to eat out but not here, they had no problems accommodating me and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you roti. We will most definitely be back.

we have eaten at roti several times and we fancied a delivery during covid. the chicken just had bright red sauce ladled over it all the dishes were poor etc. it was not cheap and basically rubbish. we tend to buy the excellent fresh curry mixes from waitrose now which are authentic if eating curry at home. people are getting more sophisticated in their taste of indian food and this did not pass muster. sometimes too many options just devalues the product. pity as we used to like going to roti but there are over 20 other choices in norwich to choose from

This is the best eat in or take away Indian restaurant in our opinion. The food is delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Made to feel at home without being crowded. I’m gradually making my way through the flavours and dishes. And now they have the August Eat in to Help our offer Monday’s to Wednesday - the working week has a new lift !

Having tried lots of Indian takeaways in Norwich, I can say that this is the best. Beautiful fresh healthy food, not too greasy like a lot of Indian takeaways you find. Dined at Roti 31.07.20 with friends and was not disappointed. A very well presented restaurant, nice modern minimal decor, air con, and very attentive staff.Meal was to a very high standard, lovely presentation and ample portions, even with the side dishes. I liked the fact the naan breads had been cut into quarters so it was an effortless meal. Very impressed with this venue and clearly the current owners have put alot of effort into the venue appearance and food quality. So credit where credit is due, this is a superb little restaurant and I would have no hesitation to book up again soon. Well done Roti...

Our fist time to the Roti since lockdown and we were soon put completely at ease by the new decor and layout at the Roti. Tables are well spaced out to ensure social distancing and we witnessed staff cleaning chairs, menus and changing table cloths after every customer. When serving and in close proximity to customers staff wore face masks and bottles of sanitizer were on each table. Everyone entering the restaurant is asked to sanitize their hands and to follow the directions on the floor to ensure social distancing. The food is as superb as ever and it was great to see Chelsie and Sammy again and we hope that others will also feel safe to return to the Roti to eat.

After a day on the coast we came back to Norwich and looked for a place to eat on TripAdvisor. Roti came up and we thought we'd give it a go. Wow. Were we impressed. The greeting we got gave a great indication of what the night had in store. Samil's welcoming smile and easy manner gave us added confidence, even with all the hand gel that was ready for you to use. The food did not disappoint. Mixed kebab and onion bhaji were top notch and plentiful for a starter. Bangladesh fish curry was tangy and flavoursome. My daughter loved the chicken tikka masala, and I was blown away by the chicken rezala. Naan bread and the inevitable roti made the dishes. I can't recommend Roti enough and wish Samil and Chelsie every success in their new venture in such uncertain times.

Been to Roti a few times over the last few years but this was definitely the best. Starters and curry dishes were very good, and the service from the Roti team was superb. They have done a great job in making sure the environment is clean and safe for customers with well spaced out tables, a walkway system and sanitiser on the tables. Loved the new decor too! We arrived at 5.30 with some reservations about eating out with lockdown just ending. These were quickly forgotten - the restaurant had undergone a complete refit, with well spaced tables, clearly defined walkways, waiters wearing facemasks taking care to maintain a safe distance, and helpful printed instructions with menus. Tables had small bottles of hand sanitiser provided. We started with poppadums and chutneys, and continued with our usual quite elaborate meal. All went smoothly, and the food as always was exceptional. Well done the Roti team.

I travel past around half a dozen Indian take aways on every visit to Roti from my home due to the high quality of food here. For example, Ahmed spice in Wymondham seems to produce a different curry for the same dish every time you visit there while the next door Indian serves more if a watery soup than a curry ( in small plastic containers). These small things that wreck a meal do not take place at Roti and as such, the very long journey from deopham is well worth it. Again, this is despite having to pass around 6 Indian take aways to actually reach them (the total journey around 10 miles or 20 in total there and back).I can only say well done and to please keep the same chef. Excellent!

Es muy difícil en estos días (en mi opinión) encontrar un buen servicio al cliente, pero eso es lo que Roti tiene en abundancia. Tuve la suerte de celebrar mi cumpleaños allí hace unos días y me sentí abrumado por el cuidado y la atención de los propietarios. Desde mi consulta inicial por correo electrónico al restaurante, supe que nos cuidarían ya que la copropietaria, Chelsie, respondió: "¡Estamos encantados de que quieras celebrar tu cumpleaños con nosotros!". Éramos una mesa animada de 9 y eso no fue un problema en absoluto a pesar de que había una mesa muy grande a nuestro lado, nos enfrentaron a todos admirablemente y me hicieron sentir realmente especial. No puedo agradecerles lo suficiente. Debo agregar que la comida también fue increíble y Chelsie se tomó el tiempo para sugerir platos que pensó que nos gustaría, todos tuvimos una noche maravillosa. Tanto que mi esposo y yo acabamos de regresar esta noche para una comida improvisada, nos recordaron y nos saludaron como amigos perdidos hace mucho tiempo. . . maravilloso, gracias Sammi y Chelsie.

We visited Roti on Friday evening in a large group for my friend's birthday celebrations. We had the most wonderful evening with fabulous food and great service, The food was so fresh and full of flavour and Chelsie helped us with our choices so that we could try something really different. The service was second to none, and by the time we left Chelsie and Sammy felt like old friends.We have told numerous friends about our visit and hope to return very soon!

Random selection for an Indian meal whilst on a weekend in Norwich. Excellent, friendly service, very nice food and large portions 🙂 Decor a little dull and quite cold at the table; reasonable pricing. Would go again.

Greeted at the door we were quickly and politely seated in the well lit and spacious restaurant which does not feature intrusive music. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. The staff are very friendly and efficient serving high quality meals that are attractive in appearance and very tasty. A treat was a unique chutney created on the premises. Our first visit but certainly not the last.

I visited Roti on Saturday and we ordered tandoori mix grill and fish tikka with keema naan, chappati, pilau rice and raita.

How have they managed to deliver better food than other Restaurants during normal periods? We had our meal delivered on Christmas Day and were so impressed, timing bang on and quality was superb. Thanks for making Christmas 2019 something to remember!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Roti I had Balti Sag which was delicious, and my partner had Jalfresi which is quite hot. The food is not greasy at all like some currys and the naan bread is lovely and fresh, its lovely decor friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place.

I have eaten here now for most weeks while working in Norwich. Food is fabulous, lovely taste and generous servings. The owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much bother for them. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy indian food and live or visit the area.

I went back to this restaurant after a gap of several years because it was under a new ownership. What a wonderful change I discovered. A great welcome at the door on a busy evening and a table was soon found for us as we had not booked.
