We’ve just been. The chocolate cones x3 were all mouldy and the famous pink and white ice cream tasted terrible. Artificial, full of nasty flavourings and not like it used to be. Dreadful experience all round. Definitely avoid. How can 3 cones be mouldy in the middle of August - surely their peak season? Eeuugghh!

This used to be a great place for ice cream - it may have the same name but now it is just overpriced rubbish. They tell you one ptice at the counter and another at the till. My sone who is coeliac can’t eat a cone so they wanted double the price to serve in a paper tub!

This establishment is a total disgrace to the legendary name "ROSSI"...way over priced for crappie tasting ice cream that's far from being Rossi's trademark ice cream...if you ever get a chance while travelling then go to Southend on sea and taste a real Rossi ice cream, 3 shops along the coastline and every shop has queues...how they ever got to buy the Rossi name I will never know...Rossi need to visit this shop just to see that the awful reviews are relevant and as a Italian family business I was surprised to be served by very ignorant Asian staff...

Me and my family went to celebrate my sister's 9th birthday and got a complimentary ice cream of choice and a slushy for free whitch is brilliant the quality of the mr whippy and slushy are top notch highly recommend to go

Terrible synthetic taste ice cream, served on a cone that was soft and tasted stale! There are other more friendly places to go, that I’m sure serve fresh non stale items.

Fancied an icecream and it was my fault I didn’t notice there were no prices snd I didn’t ask. Got a tub with two scoops (coconut & ferrero Rocher). £6!!!! To add insult to injury, the Rocher one tasted sour/old. I threw most of it away. Waste of money. DON’T GO. I wish I’d’ve waited and gone to Fredericksburg on the way home!

I agree that the ice cream from this establishment is second rate tasteless and expensive. Staff rude. Southport is rapidly becoming the place you do not want to visit.

Visited there for an ice cream, last weekend It says £1.50 for a Whippy ice-cream ,including a flake, on their advertising board, in front of their shop. I have had this ice-cream earlier this year. At the counter, on the wall, the price list said a flake was 50p extra. I bought an ice-cream and was not offered any sauce from the owner. I was not happy with this Other shops sell cones for this price, so I could have gone there. The young person seemed to be doing a good job serving ice-cream.

We'd had an ice cream from here before and we were pleased to see it was still there. We chose our flavours and had a small cone. We were very pleased with it - the price was only £1.50, amazing value, good ice cream

This place was legendary when I was young, the ice cream was home made and amazing. I purchased a family size tub and its just cheap nasty ice cream like the supermarket budget stuff. Expensive too! Never again

I never write reviews but felt compelled to warn people of the extortionate prices....none of which are displayed. We were charged £4.95 for a single kids cone. That's even more than Devon/ Cornwall prices!! Prices aren't advertised and no wonder. You live and learn. I'd love to say it was the best I'd ever tasted but it wasn't all that creamy unfortunately. Looked good though!

I recently went down as my bus went a different route, so I thought I would pick up a cheap £1 ice cream, instead I was met by a bill of £4.00 due to bad signage of price. They were arsy when I asked for a refund due to being sold the wrong item and apparently choosing a cone of their choice as I thought I were leading to me to the £1 ice creams. They refused to refund me, due to it being a food item, however no prices were visible at no point until the end when they tried to defend themselves by quickly getting the prices back out. If this was done beforehand, everything would be good, but their lack of foresight and communication led to me being highly disappointed. Highly would not recommend as they will try to over charge by not displaying prices correctly.

Having moved away from the area, whenever we visit Southport we always head for Rossis. The ice cream and the service is always special. Prices are fair for the quality of the product. Many happy memories of here.

Having been enjoying Mr Rossi's ice cream for + 50 years I guess I am qualified to say this is the place to go. Part of the fabric of Southport and wonderful ice cream.

We were in Southport for a few days and had promised ourselves an ice cream. We'd see a few places but decided on this one. They had a sign about £1 whippy ice creams but we wanted a flavoured scoop ice cream. We chose our flavours and was handed our cones. We had a surprise - £2 for 2, amazing value. The flavour was great too.

£15 for 4 ice creams. 3 single scoops in tubs (flakes added that were not asked for) and 1 whippy with flake. My rhubarb Ice cream was powdered texture. No price list was up, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought £3.75 for a single scoop. Wish I had looked at the google reviews, as it seems to be a common theme of making up prices.

Went to Rossi’s with my friends and was immediately put off ordering their ice creams as we saw the elderly shop owner scratch her head then touch the ice cream cones without washing her hands. Also she was very pushy, pressuring us into buying her ice creams saying they were the best in the area, and was rude to us when we told her we were just having a look, saying we were wasting her time. Seems very rude and patronising to her staff as well. Avoid this shop at all costs!!

Such lovely people here today. Excellent prices for the family. 99p for an ice cream and even better when you’re being served with a smile and nice manners.

a delightful man -Because of Covid 19 -I had little cash with me and wanted to pay by card . I had a pound only -He said " I can do one for that " I had a delicious Irn _Bru ice cream .

Today we went to buy Ice cream. My son, who has Autism couldnt make up his mind. The sales assistant showed him interest and care as he eventually chose his ice cream. She then tells me, never feel we have to rush. When I told her he finds it hard to decide because of his Autism, I thanked her for being so kind. She got emotional and shed a tear, and so did I. I dont know your name, but thank you for being a beautiful kind person. Will defo go back and get ice cream from you again ❤❤

On viewing the Ice cream plaque, I enquired as the display was Mr Whippy flavours, but the parlour had scoops were these the £1 with flake. Informed clearly Yes. 4 ice creams later £11.50 YES £11.50 (understandable one item was ordered Large- Informed this was £2.50, so still expecting less than £6- but no £11.50) When I queried the price and the display/cost I was told, well I told your daughter (who by the way is 7) that this was was £3.50- although the lady stated £2.50, but then she says you have to pay extra for the flake. So you only get a free flake on the £1 ice cream otherwise it’s an add on price. A tub is £2.50 although I was informed it was £1.00 just like the display cost. The mr whippy is sour, and when I queried this, I was told no one else has said anything. Maybe they aren’t as forward as me, and too polite to. Terrible customer service and through eating the icecream one sick 8 year old.

My wife loves ice cream so we had to stop here. There is a very good selection and the chap serving was very friendly and helpful.

We love to stop and get 2 pink and white 99’ers from Rossi’s. it’s the best soft ice cream in Southport I’d recommend to anyone. They sell what seems like loads but we just stick to what we like best.😬

Double Mr Whippy and flake is only £1.20. Not the biggest portion but decent value. They also serve “proper” ice cream and sell other sweets like rock

Day tripping in Southport & after eating fish & chips,the children fancied an icecream,plenty of choice on Neville Street.My daughters chose Rossi's,one wanted bubblegum,the other just a plain whippy but in tubs not cones..the board outside said £1 for whippy in a cone,plus we had a flake.A that moment i must have missed Dick Turpin arrive & ask £4,60..that was for two,in tubs no cones.I did buy from inside the shop,a fridge magnet of our day out.

Vsited the ice cream shop while on holiday found the ice cream very tasty and great value, the staff helpful and insige the rockshop a good offer spend £3 on tock and receive a free ice cream

Really disgusted at the way this place treated a member of the public in need today. There was a lady clearly being abused by her partner.. he was screaming in her face, pushing her and following her down the street. The lady came into the shop while we were being served to try to get away from him (he wouldn't enter the shop for whatever reason), and the lady was told by the 2 members of staff that she needed to leave the shop because they "didn't want any trouble". The lady did respect their wishes and left the shop, only to be continued to be verbally and physically assaulted. The elder of the women walked over to us and tried to get us to agree that she did the right thing by asking her to leave, however when I expressed my disagreement and said the lady obviously needed help from being attacked, the response was "well I don't want my shop smashed up"! Nice to know they value materialistic objects over a woman being assaulted and abused. I just hope the two members of staff are never in a vulnerable situation and get turned away when they need someone to help.

I had a look in 3 other rock shops before going into Rossi’s and walked out of each one of them due to ignorant staff. I purchased a couple of gifts and ice cream in Rossi’s and the lady who served me was very helpful, polite and well mannered, they certainly put the staff in the other shops to shame!!

This establishment is to be avoided at all costs. Not only do they make children work long hours, bully and ridicule them but then they refuse to pay them an hourly wage packet. Some of these children are working to support their families. It is a disgrace and must be stopped. Don't buy icecream from these child work slaves.

Purchased a two cones to eat outside- one mango and one rum and raisin. The mango was so bad my daughter had to throw it away. The ice cream was either very old or made with poor ingredients. We were both very disappointed.

Overpriced and simply poor. Much better alternatives around. Personally I would avoid. They also leave rubbish lying around.

Rossi’s pink & white soft ice cream is the best in the region!! A 99 with a flake with raspberry sauce to finish it off. They have an array of touristy items for the visitors to Southport along with so many different flavours of ice cream.

We come here each time we visit Southport, its a kinda tradition. The traditional flavoured solid type ice cream is superb but we always get the dogs a one pound whippy each which they adore. The owners are lovely too.

Having a cigarette outside the Lord street Rossi's the indian owner/assistant woman took a half eaten bowl of chocolate ice cream from a table after customer had left and using her FINGER scraped it back into the large tub in the window display of other chocolate ice cream !!! Need I say more !

A truly great ice cream shop, large selection of flavours, cones and types. So many its hard to decide. But without a doubt it had to be a pink and white softy with a chocolate flake, awesome is the only way to describe it.

Visited twice when in Southport. Ice cream is defiantly the best in town as well as the cheapest. A wide variety to choose from and the homemade ice cream was lovely. We met the owners who was very friendly and welcoming. Will defiantly come back if we visit again and would recommend to anyone visiting Southport.

Supposed to be the best ice cream parlour in Southport. Awful experience. The parlour consisted of three tables surrounded by large boxes and several containers of bottled water. The menu was disappointing so decided to buy icecream from their kiosk next door. Bought two scoops of ice cream of different flavours which were served in a very unattractive pink receptacle. No wafer. Invited to eat in the parlour. Ice cream tasted stale and difficult to identify the two different flavours. Very disappointed.

When in Southport we nearly always visit Rossi's for an Ice Cream. The staff are friendly and helpful, varieties of Ice Cream are numerous and they are the tastiest and cheapest in town. The shop also sells reasonable rock, boxes of sweets, toys etc.

called in yesterday for two home made ice creams. the staff really need lessons in politeness. they charged £5,oo for two tasteless cones. the sugar cone was stale. upon checking with another member of staff when passing later on, the price should have been £4.00. another southport tourist couple being overcharged.

I called in at the end of a brief visit and enjoyed choosing quality seaside rock (we have run a sweet shop and know the difference). Took well priced huge varieties of rock back for workmates, Edinburgh Rock for my wife, and some small novelty windmills for neighbours youngsters.

Came to Lancashire on holiday and met so many friendly people especially in shops and cafes but this was the big exception.

ice cream ok got 2 cones for 2 quid nothing special, havent got a clue what i ordered as nothing marked i asked what something was and all i got was wuzzy wuzzy whatever the hell that meant i dont know , for 2 quid was ok not special. lot more choice in other places but more expensive else where i think id try somewhere else next time

Looked like a good selection of ice creams with a large board outside indicating a price. When you order the staff are all over you about how it's the best ice cream in town. Then the 'flexible' pricing structure comes in and the price suddenly triples. Will go elsewhere in future.

One of the best ice cream in southport, rossi's has the homemade touch, every ice cream is home made everyday and the staff are very very friendly is what you expect from a family owned establishment! I've been going here since I was a young kid and every staff member recognise me, and I'm sure they'll do the same with you, cheapest ice cream in southport only £1!

This is without doubt my favourite ice crean parlour in Southport, it has the very best choice of flavours and stocks all sorts of great presents to take home. It is family run and the staff are so pleasant it is such a joy to return and see them.If your on your wat upto funland it is a must to stop off at this ice cream parlour. I would never dream of visiting Southport and not stopping off here, you wont be disappointed as there is such an array of great flavours that other ice cream parlours in southport cant compete with the ice cream is my favourite

We love Rossi's pink and white soft IceCream, it's the best in Southport!! We pop in for a takeaway cornet on the way home to cool you down or cheer you up!!

Visited Rossi's Neville St Southport. The café wasn't open when we got there but when I said I would like to eat an ice cream sundae inside they opened up straight away for us. They did rush us to decide what we wanted and even made helpful recommendations. Was the best ever ice cream sundae we've had.

Go somewhere else. The street is packed with other ice cream stalls that are much better value for money and definitely tastier! I was browsing from stall to stall with my family to see where to buy from and the staff here were so patronising and sleezy. I would also say they were borderline harassing me!! I felt so ganged up on by the whole family who were trying to sell me their ice cream. In the end, only I out of my family went with them, as they had the two flavours I fancied at the time (peanut butter and cappuccino). First of all, the ice cream was mediocre. Peanut butter was basically plain peanut. Which as any avid peanut butter fan knows, this is just not satisfactory. Definitely not award winning - as they told me a million times. Also - once I had bought the ice cream, they even insisted I tasted both flavours in front of them. I felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable and I just wanted to get away.

Ice cream great, best value in street. Staff very helpful. Would really recommend to go there. Was in Southport for the day went to ice cream parlour lot's of different flavours. Also brought Southport rock which my young boy enjoyed.

Ice cream is awful no taste, the old lady who serves is so rude, i asked how much for the ice creams and when she had finished making them asked me for more money than she had originally said, she told me next time ask for the £1 cones I said yes I would but at the ice cream shop down the road. awful ice cream awful staff............... avoid and save your money.

On our first night in the town we treated ourselves to an ice cream because of the heat, only to be harangued by a lady at Rossi's telling us that her ice cream was the best, and much better value, so I decided to check that out.

I have never experienced such a poorly staffed business. I felt sorry for the elderly woman behind the ice cream counter who at the time was one of only 2 staff members on premesis on a sunny, saturday afternoon. This poor woman was questioned from either side of the of the counter. As a result of the negligence that the company has afforded to the staff I was served a ferrero rocher ice cream instead of a terrys chocolate orange which i did order. The ice cream was bland and tasted like any chocolate ice cream which i have tasted and i eventually threw the ice cream away.

The woman owner at this shop has a terrible attitude problem and always thinks she is right, on the times I have been past here or popped in for candy floss she is always impolite and talks down to her staff the quality is poor and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to encounter this not good for people on holiday too who want to have a pleasant day and keep there calm.this used to be a proper family run business when I was a kid and now it's pure shambles not recommended!

Been here twice now and the ice cream was really good quality (especially the mint choc chip). Prices were also very reasonable and friendly customer service.

Just before we went home we went into this ice cream parlour and bought our rock and fridge magnets and fudge.

Rude, ignorant proprietor. Ice cream tasted 'clinical' - complained ,and was told 'Ive been selling it all day' - no apology, no replacement, no refund. Unlike most establishments, no prices were visible (dodgy - let's fleece the tourists !). Thankfully, the scoops were so ungenerous, the experience didn't last long. 'Home made ice cream' - only if your home was a factory full of poor quality ingredients. The only time you could possibly find an authentic flavour, would be if you requested oxygen and ice crystals flavour, or the brown coloured 'death by blandness'.

I have worked there for 3 months! The ice cream is not home made! Do not buy candy floss their. They blow into the bags, and when i worked there, There was a lady without teeth and straight after having a ciggy she blew into the candy floss. No hygiene whatsoever.

The staff here are terrible, I came for an ice cream and my friend had bought one from a shop over the road as they preferred the flavours there. And before I could tell the woman which ice cream I wanted, she was quick to go on an attack at my friend, shouting at him for being served at another ice cream parlour that was obviously her competition. Not the way to deal with customers in my opinion. Really put me off ordering my ice cream as she was so rude and aggressive towards my friend. I ended up going over the road to get mine too after her attitude, I enjoyed it :-)

Not the best ice cream in town. This place is on my doorstep and walking home from work I decided upon a ice cream. It was slightly tasteless and seemed to have been defrosted and refrozen due to all the ice particles in it.

Going to Rossi's used to be the treat of all treats when you were a kid,the taste of their ice cream unparalleled.Unfortunately,contrary to the Len Goodman "Holiday of my Lifetime" "fabrication" it is not still owned by the original founding family but by a quite rude new owner with ice cream not remotely resembling its predecessor! The original Rossi's used to be amazing, but the lady that now owns this and has done since about the 90's, has shamed the original Rossi family. This is no longer home made Italian ice cream but the bland store bought stuff.

I used to buy the excellent original Rossi's ice cream as a boy in the 60's. This establishment is nothing like the original, they seem to use the good name of the original Rossi to their advantage. The service, by an older lady, can only be described as disgusting and extremely rude, it was as though we were too much trouble to serve and she ignored us for quite a while. The ice cream was tasteless and extremely expensive, it is doubtful if they actually make their own as it appears to be mass produced rubbish. How they can advertise as 'the original Rossi' I do not know. I will definitely not be returning and recommend you try any of the alternatives in the area.

in Southport there are numerous ice cream shops and kiosks. If possible eat at Rossi's, plenty flavours to choose, cheaper than most. Very creamy and tasty. The lady who was serving was very polite, helpful and sociable. The prices were cheaper than we thought. Scoops smaller than some kiosks, but for price you wouldn't expect more. First port of call when next in Southport.

We were served by a lovely lady, very friendly and chatty and helpful. The ice cream flavours on offer were fab, as were the various cones! Wish we could've tried all the flavours - we will be back again on our next visit to Southport to do just that!! lol

Back again with my Explorer scouts for the best ice cream in southport. Still an amazing selection of flavours. Maybe too many to choose from.

Last weekend my daughter and I paid a visit to Southport, during our walkabout we came across Rossi's ice cream parlour. What an experience, it brought back so many happy memories of my childhood growing up in the 50s and 60s and going for ice cream with my mum and dad. The ice cream parlour is immaculately clean and the staff are very attentive. The ice cream was to die for so good that I could have sat there all day and eat some more. Sadly we had to leave as we were going out for dinner and I knew if I had eaten more I would be unable to eat later. But rather than have a dessert at the restaurant again I returned to Rossi's to get an ice cream on our way back to our b&b.; Everyone that visits Southport should go to Rossi's for the best ice cream also sit in and just enjoy. This is the best ice cream I have had for a long time. The vanilla is home made daily and is so good. The staff are so friendly and a discount is offered at there store next door. Its the cleanest café I have been in, well done you all.

Funny lady behind the counter, telling everyone she ran the best and cheapest ice cream parlour in town! It was certainly very good. We went because Francis Rossi from Status Quo is related to the family

My family have been going to Rossi's for years and each time we go it just gets better and better, you can't beat this ice cream shop! 5 star rating ever time. I would certainly recommend coming to Rossi's and trying out the ice cream!

Called in to Rossi's for some lunch. Soup was delicious and the carrot cake was the best we have ever tasted. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Would recommend it.

my family and i visited today and were totally disappolnted, found staff to be both rude and not interested.food very poor quality and very little for alot of money. i advise any one to avoid this place and take your custom to somewhere else.!!!!!!!!!!

My Explorer Scouts insisted on a return visit to Rossi's. Once again fantastic service, great value and amazing choice of yummy flavors. The even coped with the fact on of the scouts has a severe nut allergy and made sure he got the same service. He often can't get ice cream as its just too difficult for some shops to cope with, but not Rossi's. Thank you so much.

Overpriced, tastless ice cream sundaes that took three members of staff almost twenty minutes to make and we were the only ones in there. The fudge sundae came with no fudge in so we sent it back. It came back with crunchy fudge pieces! We also had to ask for our wafers. The hot fudge sundae was not hot and it was just chocolate sauce not fudge sauce. We had almost finished our ice creams when the waitress came over and gave us folding umbrellas because they forgot to put them on the sundaes! Overall, poor quality ice cream that is over priced and staff that don't know how to make the sundaes. This is also a sizeable establishment but they only take cash but there's no sign to warn you of this. Avoid.

As the title suggest plus paid for a Latte which never came but was charged for it. Only one young girl serving, Manager said forgot due to being busy. There were only two other tables occupied! The bill was amended but no apology. Had Tomato and bazil soup. The soup was all over the dish which was not wiped and made to look presentable. Not going there again.

Yummy ice creams but a little pricey. Lots of flavours to choose from. Eton Mess and Toffee crunch were fabulous!

My hubby loves this place and we try to visit as often as we can. There is a lovely lady that remembers me and looks after us very well.

Really good ice cream with about 12 flavours to choose from, and some slightly more interesting flavours such as nutella, baileys, and ferrero rocher! There are also the "Mr Whippy" type cones if you don't fancy the Italian ice cream. Very friendly service and reasonable prices.

I am currently sat in Rossis with my daughter having been robbed of £7 by a very pushy woman on the street counter for two, yes that's two ice creams!! There is no price list outside and I wasn't given the option of cheaper cones but instead was told I had to have either 2 large scoops or 3 small scoops

The ice cream was of reasonable /average quality but served by a curt young lady. No wonder they don't advertise their prices on the street counter at £5 for a 3 scoop sugar cone. Buyer beware!
