My OH and I called in to Rossini's on Friday evening for a quick bite to save cooking. The restaurant is in a cordoned off section of the Two Brewers Pub, and although the pub itself seemed quite busy we were surprised that there were no other diners in the restaurant area. The restaurant area is decorated with artificial plants, vases and pots, and photos of Italy - it's not really flash but feels cosy and like a little authentic Italian family neighbourhood restaurant. Service was excellent, both of our servers were friendly and chatty, and despite being the only diners we didn't feel uncomfortable or unwelcome which can sometimes be the case. Food was first rate, again nothing flash but authentic and reasonably priced pasta, pizzas and main course grills in good sized portions. My OH had Arancini for a starter, I tried it too and we both thought it was very tasty. I had a spicy chicken, bacon and tomato penne and it was very spicy but lovely, my OH had the house pasta which he declared very good. We were both too full for desserts but next time we will save room! I do hope Rossini's gets more customers as they deserve to succeed, it is so nice to have an authentic and well priced Italian in Chelmsford instead of all the chain restaurants and over priced 'special occasion' restaurants.

We arrived early and were offered a drink at the bar, instead we opted for the cosy open fire. Music was a good level and, while my parents enjoyed hot chocolate I sample the hand pull beer which was in great condition. Once ordered we didn't have to wait long before our dough balls a fried risotto arrived, both went down well as we shared them. After another round of drinks we had our maincourse which was not disappointing. we had a couple of pizzas (i had a spicy chicken) which were a good size and tasty very fresh. My parents both had Tagliatelle with Salmon which the enjoyed also. Staff were very good and the interesting decor was a refreshing change the run of the mill establishments nearby.. We will be back soon!

I've been here twise this week, the first time was on the Friday for the classic Italian restaurant where I had the deep fried arancini balls with a roasted red pepper puree. presentation was excellent and the flavours complimened each other perfectly for my main course I had the tagliatelle salmone which had a rich creamy tomato sauce plentiful helpings of salmon and the added smoked salmon made the whole dish a excellent meal. I then returned on the Sunday for the Sunday roast well what can I say the the prime roast serlion was cooked to perfection full of flavour and juice it practically melted in my mouth with the freshly roasted vegetables, potatoes and rich gravy was a lovely meal. The open fire in the background gave the warm welcome feeling of home. Staff where amazing and very attentive. all in all a fantastic restaurant one I will defintly be returning too. Good job!

Unfortunatly me and my partner missed opening night as it was fully booked, but we managed to get a table in the week and I love the new menu. The restauraunt has been remodeled and it feels very cozy, and the service was great it felt very authentic. I had a seafood pasta dish with salmon that was divine!

My friend and I went for a meal on the opening night and booked two weeks in advance. We arrived at 8:15pm and ordered within 10-15 minutes, however our starters didn't arrive until 9:15pm. We received several apologies from different waiting staff, however there was no sense of urgency and noone seemed aware of how long it would be until our food arrived. When we were finally served, the arancini balls were flavourless, which was a disappointing start. We ordered the tagliatelle salmone and the parmigiana bolognese for mains, which arrived in reasonable time. However both meals were bland and dry. They didn't taste at all Italian and were slightly overcooked. My friend and I have both lived in Italy and were very disappointed to find that the food wasn't at all representative of Italian cuisine. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and this was ok but nothing special. Due to the slow service at the start, it was 10:15pm when we had finished our desserts. I was expecting much more from Rossini's and unfortunately I will have to say that I won't be returning.

The Landlords are both welcoming and committed to ensuring you're experience runs smoothly and whilst their staff are super attentive, they do it in a way that makes you feel they're not even there. I.e. they're not intrusive and help you feel very relaxed and almost like you're privately dining. The venue is kind-of rustic and the limited covers mean you feel very special and I reckon it might be the next best and busiest restaurant in the town... I do hope so. The food is really great actually and the pizza dough they make/use is the best (I think) in Chelmsford. It's extremely fresh and so so soft. I could eat just on it’s own. It feels more authentic than many of the other Italian options available locally. They have plenty to choose from and they are very flexible if you want something slightly different. Coupled with a roaring fire while you wait to be seated (and it's in eye-shot throughout your meal for most tables), it has a very cozy and warming/snug feel about it too. I am going back there to try their 50% lunch this coming week and I want to make this something regular. I really REALLY hope this place gets as busy as it so deserves. This building is such a lovely place and to be in the centre of town, with free parking, it becomes a no-brainer. I hope your experience is as good as mine…

5* came on the opening night and had garlic prawns and tomato bruschetta to start followed by a steak Diane (med rare) and a seafood pasta. The food was really tasty and there was a really good choice. The opening night was full and it was a lovely atmosphere. I’ve been in the The Two Brewers for a drink and I felt like I was in a different place sitting in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and were actively asking for feedback as it was their first night trading. Our food came out in good time and although we could see some people thought they’d been waiting a bit too long it was clear the staff were working really hard to make everything work well. With 50% off the bill and a free drink for being a guinea pig we thought it was great and will definitely be back in a couple of weeks to see how it’s doing once they’ve got settled in!

I came in with my family on the launch night of rossini’s. The food was delicious and the Decore in the restaurant was done really well and there was a great atmosphere. The food is a reasonable price and good quality. They have a wide selection of good wines and good waiting service. All the staff seemed friendly and happy to help. I will defiantly be coming back here to eat :)

Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it. Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing). The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that. But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂) Definitely will come again! Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁

Earlier in year we held my mums 'wake' all staff were caring/helpful/understanding.We could have balloons/photos/films show..the buffet was very good, the rooms gave it a 'softer' feel . for a sad occasion.lowers on the tables. most guests complemented us on our choice/poshness of all ,,, we had been for meals before, & I'm sure would be a good hotel to stay in ….so thankz to all it would have pleased my Mum

Popped in for Tea and cake on a lovely day, usually visit about 8 times a year on nice days and weekdays only, Parking is Free, but only about 7 spaces connected to the Tea Room, don't be confused by the field parking next door which is £5 and is not affiliated with the Tea room, register your vehicle number when ordering food, toilets available for Customers, so a Tea and cake and 1 Hour stroll along the river, always good service here,we have seen some demanding members of the public getting mixed up and thinking its all one thing then getting it all wrong and throwing toys out of their prams when they are clearly wrong but can't see it, So you can park free for limited time, pay for food and drinks and use the garden seating (or inside) and use their toilet facilitys, can't say fairer than that and if you want a cheap lunch go to Tesco for a meal deal at £3.50
