Whilst we always enjoy the food from Roses, the new delivery service leaves a lot to be desired. The past several times we've ordered, food has taken over an hour and a half to be delivered. When you place an order for a 12:15 delivery, you do not expect it to turn up closer to 2:00pm. If this was sorted out, I'd give it a higher rating, but it's unlikely we'll be ordering again as we've never had the food arrive at anything like a decent timeframe and again, we've encountered the same thing. They are clearly overstretched on dealing with deliveries and Uber Eats along with walk-in customers.

Found this cafe on a walk around looking for breakfast one morning, lovely and clean with good Covid precautions. Staff were friendly, we just had tea & toast for breakfast, but cafe was so nice we went back the next day for a fry up, great value 5 items for 2.25 (between certain times) which is great if you just want to choose your own items.

If your in a hurry - ie cannot wait more than 50 minutes for 2 things dont go . (There was 2 other customers btw !) Would like quality produce thats tastes like bacon and sausage - don't go Want to pay over the odds for the cheapest nastiest Iceland sausage - £2 for 25 then go ! Place is diabolical - one slice of bacon in a bap ! Totally overpriced , Rotten

Wow first time ordering from Roses cafe through Uber eats. Absolutely fantastic home made chips wow best chips ever had from a takeaway Cheese burger tasty nice fresh soft bun All food was piping hot Would definitely recommended and we will definitely be ordering here again Thanks roses care 👍🏻👌🏻

Lovely friendly staff.clean place.plenty of choice.had breakfasts different ones and prices available.table service.serve cake and snacks also meals.popular place.we will return.

Very dark and dismal, slow to be seated and when we were seated there were crumbs and food left on the table. Things haven’t really changed with this place.

Can’t stop coming here now 👅 never have a bad time here the food is amazing and the staff are really polite and kind can’t fault them with anything , big up josh !

I regularly visit Rose's cafe... Its friendly, relaxing, has a sort of old school charm, and the food is hot, scrummy and the sort to put hairs on your chest! Give it a go... Oh and where else can you get brekkie and a coffee for under £5 (brekkie deal, 5 items £1.95 before 10.30am)

After discovering Roses Cafe last year we had to return again this year, twice actually, still a great breakfast and a lovely atmosphere, can’t wait to return

Always come here for a breakfast, it’s my go to place to come, even better that it’s in my home town, breakfast prices are so reasonable and the food quality is a 10/10, never had a bad meal it’s always been exceptional! Rough price we pay as a couple for the special breakfast all together is about £14-£17 including drinks and any extra bits we have, can’t fault the place. Staff are always friendly and the place is always clean, will always return here and will always recommend as well :)

An English fry up at its best. Cheap, great value fresh cooked food with warm friendly staff. Excellent all round and even though we would probably not stay in Rugeley again I would recommend to passing trade and locals alike.

Had 4 meals from salad.jacket potato to cooked chicken dinner.wasnt long to wait.served hot.was tasty and plenty and also presented well.friendly staff.plenty of choice good value.

Proper cafe, decent food and drink with friendly fast service and cheap. Does what it says in the tin.

Put simply , for breakfast nowhere else comes close, even better than home, shame they not open sundays, definitely the best in rugeley.

Polite quick service. Thanks for suggesting the home made chips, they were nice. Could do with some music to drowned out everyone else's conversations, radio talk can be heard but not over people. That's being picky, great meal though.

Went to Roses Cafe for breakfast before a long day at a friends wedding, what a great way to set yourself up for the day, good menu and great value prices, couldn’t ask for more, will try to return on our next visit

Great Sunday lunch,plate piled high and at a reasonable price. Good service. Certainly saves the hassle of making it yourself.

Just visiting Rugeley and found this place by accident went for late breakfast/ lunch , one full english for me and one lasagne for the wife , excellent food and decent coffee at a good price . will call back again on our way home

Went here sat for breakfast, the place is clean and tidy, the food is excellent, and the staff are lovely.

Couldn't fault anything about this place. Prices were what you expect to pay, breakfast wasn't overly greasey, and service was very good. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

A very good special breakfast with a choice of teas and coffees. Now a regular, good service and quality food.

This is a BRILIANT independent local cafe which serves wonderful, freshly prepared, HOME-COOKED GRUB. Their menu is not extensive BUT what's on there is superbly prepared, cooked, and served with a friendly smile.

Went to this cafe today. Friendly service and clean. Prices were reasonable to. Will be coming back soon.

working away and visited the cafe for breakfast lady on her own very welcoming and polite, was able to have a lovely conversation while ordering. very fast service with a decent sized portion kept me going through to lunch, tasted great.

We used to visit Roses fairly often and never had a problem. However, we came in on Tuesday and I was extremely disappointed. First off, we walked in and granted, it was a little busy. However, the chair that I was about to sit on had a big clump of butter on, which I completely understand isn't the staff's fault. However, when I went to change the seat with a seat from the table behind (there was only one customer at this table and she wasn't using the seat I was going to swap), the older female member of staff with short hair was extremely rude and had an attitude about the fact that I kindly asked to swap the chair. After attempting to explain to her about 4 times, she finally said, "oh, just swap it", which is what I suggested to begin with? The food was okay but the wait for drinks was ridiculous. A table of two ladies close by walked out as they had to wait so long and hadn't even got their drinks yet. The young girl who bought our food over and took our order was extremely miserable and not welcoming at all. I don't know if Roses has had a management change over but I will definitely not be returning!

went here for first time today exspecting nice meal, had concerns straight away as tables weren,t cleared and meals left on them were half eaten but my mom talked me into sitting down saying maybe kids had left meals, so we ordered , i ordered cheese burger n chips mom had coslaw n jacket potatoe, the burger was awfull been deep fried just had a mouthfull of oily tasteless mush bap was soggy with oil, sent it back straight away, was offered chicken burger instead but as women so rude i refused n just ate the few over cooked chips i had, mom was enjoying her colslaw then she got to potatoe n it was brown n soggy reheated old potatoe , she couldnt finnish hers iether, went to pay n they tried charging us full but when mom said about her potatoe n that she couldnt eat it, the women agressly screwed up reciept n said forgett it n that was it , no sorry or anything just threw reciept in bin n looked n acted really peeded off , at this we said sorry n quickly left, awfull customer service !!!! just told my son about it n he said it use to be really nice there but he no longer goes as its gone down hill recently, shame.

The meal was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. As a Coeliac I require a Gluten Free diet and the staff were very informative and advised me on what was available. We had a very enjoyable meal.

Popped in for something to eat and drink. The service was quick and friendly. It was also clean which I find a lot of establishments fail on! The food was good. Ordered a fresh salad (which was very fresh). This cafe is good and I will be visiting again. I have seen other reviews on this business which are negative which may I add are only minimal, about the standards dropping? In my opinion, you`ll always find some customers that you can`t keep happy. No matter what you do.

This has been recommended as we recently moved here, but it wasn't good. Lovely welcome from the waiting staff and a decent menu. I ordered the full English at £4.20 but it was microwaved? Sausages are horrible cooked that way, the bacon fat was not crispy and the bacon undercooked,the eggs were cheap eggs, and again not fried enough. All in all it was poor. The pot of tea was nice and staff friendly, I would not eat there again. They need to know you can grill and fry for best results, buy decent quality sausages and cured bacon with fresh farm eggs, it was cheap and nasty.

I reviewed this establishment quite a while back and it was brilliant but the last few visits have certainly tarnished my opinion.I am hoping that they are just hitting a rough spot and they are sorting themselves out.The last time I went in last week I had chicken, bacon and mayo baguette with chips. When I have been before it was proper chicken breast with bacon running through it and mayo tickling it all into perfection but this time was a baguette that had not been cooked properly (still doughy) and in the hoards of mayo was a small amount of diced pieces of bacon and various cuts of small chicken, mostly brown meat and not much of it.The chips that arrived were slightly larger in all honesty but there were only six and that was full price, when we paid they overcharged us by at least £5 and when we questioned about the chips we were met with blank looks saying well you gad a portion.The visit before I was told the baguettes were well done but I had one and was presented with a severely incinerated version of bread on the base and no discount made for this.Unfortunately, until the owner can get the business back under control and stop trying to get major profit increases, she will have lost several customers with us and our group.

We wanted a breakfast on a Saturday morning, and with not many places serving breakfast after 11am, we popped in. The breakfast was lovely, well cooked and not greasy. Reasonable price, friendly staff. Will visit again.

First time I have eaten there in the evening. The staff were very welcoming. A good varied selection on the menu. Chose our main course, I had Beef & Ale Pie and my wife had Chicken Curry. Both were excellent and I had a dessert, Banana Fritters. The service was good and we will be happy to go back again.

Husband and I tried their traditional Sunday carvery of soup and main course offering for £7.99. We didn't have the soup, but saw it served in large bowls with fresh bread. Three meats were on offer, together with Yorkies, roast and mashed potatoes, stuffing and 8 different types of vegetables, all home cooked. The only complaint I had was that the plate wasn't large enough to hold everything. We enjoyed our desserts, a good size portion for £3.99. The pleasant staff greeted us on arrival, showed us where to sit, brought our drinks quickly, were happy to accommodate any requirements and checked that we were enjoying our meal. There were a lot of customers including two larger parties, but no-one was kept waiting. We will be happy to return.

Came to Roses with a friend for breakfast and a catch up.Cafe quite busy on arrival, staff immediately acknowledged us and advised we can sit anywhere, sat down and asked if we wanted drinks while we chose what we wanted.Both knew we wanted the £1.95 breakfast (had been recommended to us). 5 items for just under 2 quid and you can chose the 5 items you want.Now, Im a bit fussy with breakfasts - it came out and was delicious and piping hot.Bacon and sausage cooked to perfection and just the right amount of food.A prefect start to the day - will definitely return to sample the lunch time menu.

Was in the town and fancied a cooked breakfast Rugeley doesn't have many places to have a decent breakfast so we thought we would try this establishment.We were not disappointed and I must say its the best cooked breakfast I have ever had !!!The staff were lovely and they were always smiling and the service was excellent also, we will be returning to sample some of the delightful offerings on there very large menu.Keep up the hard and good work, we'll done

Lovely food, bit expensive compared to other cafes in the area. Wasn't paying company was so not to bothered but it was nothing special compared to other local cafes.

Have been several times and it's consistently good quality, usually have a sandwich after a walk to Rugeley. The food and drink is always good and the place is clean. Service can be mixed, sometimes excellent but sometimes seems to be staff standing around chatting but otherwise very good

Called in this cafe two days on the trot, yesterday for a sandwich at lunchtime , I know it's only a sandwich but believe me I am fussy about them. First of all the staff are really hard working and very polite. The sandwich was made with really fresh bread and the salad had just been prepared, I can't stand wiltered lettuce , soggy cucumber , and mushy tomatoes .This was none of these, really tasty cheese , most cafes use the cheapest cheese they can buy . Today we had poached eggs and bacon on toast, really nice fresh eggs and tasty bacon. Can really recommend this home cooked food . Thank you and keep it up

What a great place to visit for a hearty breakfast. Great food, perfectly cooked, clean, friendly staff. Just about as good as it gets. We shall be back to try some of the other food on the menu, and definitely for a cream tea. This place was a delightful find. Rugeley's gem!!!!!

just dropped car off to have some repairs and walked around was going into costa but spotted Rose,s café in rugeley what a delight , it was lovely and clean and nice atmosphere it was spacious so you did not feel you were squashed in like some places I been into, the staff lovely pleasant efficient, it was busy but not that busy that it was uncomfortable, various people in there eating, the food was lovely had the small breakfast and it was fantastic, it is the first time eating in a café that I have been presented with my egg done so perfectly, the cook did a brilliant job, not many cafes can be bothered to fry eggs so nicely, I will certainly be going back to try the rest of their menu, it is geared up for small children with baby seats, highly recommend this café much better than any of the eateries in supermarkets round there,

A lovely restaurant, very clean and nearly always full which is a good sign. The staff are friendly, the service is quick and efficient, the food is fresh and homemade and not too expensive. It's in a shopping street so no parking there, but nearby. Well worth a visit.

We have had some lovely meals from this establishment and the 5 item breakfast during the week before 10.30 is excellent, it offers a wide variety of dishes and is one of the better breakfast options around Rugeley.

Checked other reviews before we ventured to this Café - and I must say it was a very pleasant experience. Plenty of tables/space; service was at the table and very quick and a good selection of reasonably prices fare on offer. Its nice to patronise a small independent establishment and support them.

Went here for brunch at 11am on a friday, we were seen to very quickly even though it was a little busy. I had a roast pork bap with gravy and chips it was beautiful and good value for money! will defo be going back!

The resturant, located in Albion Street, is a cafe resturant serving reasonable priced freshly cooked food. Prices are average anpd there is a set menu but the do have specialities of the day. Try the ham, egg and chips delicious.

Good simple food. Great value for money. Vegetarian options available. Basic fare of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and hot meals as well as toast and teacakes etc. Just off the main square near Morrison's car park.

Me and my mom are always in roses for food. The staff are lovely and its a great atmosphere. The food is always lovely and freshly made. The lasagne and chips are amazing I would definitely recommend. Lovely hot chocolates and coffees. Whenever your in rugeley come try roses.

Went in to have some afternoon lunch to be welcomed by the lovely staff. Great bunch of people working there. Food didn't take too long which was brilliant. Fish and chips order was lovely, the fish was crisp and the chips were divine. The 'Full-English Breakfast" also looked lovely I must add. Would definitely recommend.

Again this cafe pleasently suprised me when ordered a pork sandwich and curly fries. The food was very good and at good price. Excellent for another independent cafe in town, if I was picky I think it would have better served on a roll. Well done and thank you

this cafe deserves all the plaudits and custom it gets . In a town thats dominated by big nationwide companies this place always produces excellent meals using fresh produce at superb value for money prices . our last visit saw us have a superb full breakfast and a wonderfully presented fresh chicken salad.always clean , with friendly and efficient staff i struggle to understand why people use the likes of morrisons ( more expensive, inconsistent quality, long waits ) or tesco ( even more expensive, poor quality, chaotic service ) or costa coffee if you only fancy a drink/cake ( ridiculously expensive , stale cakes ) , this place does lovely tea/coffee and a superb hot chocolate with marshmellows etc for much less than costa.If you are looking for a non-alcohol based meal during the day ( ie not wetherspoons) and have never been here, give it a try i doubt you will be disappointed
