Such a lovely place in my neighbourhood, good food, and a huge portion for food price

They make typical Scottish breakfast. There were 3 of us and we ordered one for all of us, since breakfast for them is the most important meal and it is like eating for us. Everything was delicious, we ordered the full Scottish breakfast.

Beautiful breakfast place. Food is great and cappuccino is phenomenal. Enjoyed it. Would definitely reccomend if you’re in the area. 💪

I was in Edinburgh early on Saturday morning, and decided as I had a long day ahead with work not to skip breakfast. The Roseburn Cafe is a place I have driven past many times when heading into Edinburgh, so decided to go here. Great little cafe with good staff who give you a nice welome. Food is really tasty and at good prices, so can highly recommend this place.

We stopped for breakfast before exploring the city. It was wonderful, they were super nice and the food was great. I would definitely go back.

The shop maybe doesn’t look like much however best breakfast and loved the make your own breakfast option. Caramel Latte was the best coffee I’ve ever had, actually tasted like caramel unlike many larger chain cafes which would be more expensive. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Best breakfast for early birds If you are looking for an early breakfast in Edinburgh (7 am), then there is not much choice, and this is the place to go (each day starting at 7 am, except for Sundays, then at 9 am). I know this Cafe since many years, and the excellent quality has not changed. One can choose between a large variety of breakfasts (from small to big hunger), and the prices are VERY reasonable. Somewhen after or during covid, the cafe has been renovated in part, but it still gives the feeling of older times, simple but cozy. I highly recommend it, and will certainly come back on my next trip to Edinburgh.

A find on a detour from The John Muir Way in search of food.. Friendly traditional cafe. My all day breakfast was delicious , my OHs omlette great and fantastic coffee. Cheap too

We visited this on our first morning in Edinburgh; it was a short walk from our hotel in Murrayfield and had a great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. It was a great and inexpensive choice for our first meal in Scotland.

Pretty much the usual fillings for sandwiches etc., but everything was fresh, the coffee was a lovely blend and the tray bake desserts were gorgeous! I'd recommend this wee place for lunch.

We were up in Edinburgh for a rugby International and came across this busy, little cafe. Brilliant find. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and breakfast and coffee was excellent. Great value for money. We will definitely call again.

Went here for our breakfast whilst on holiday. Refused to pay the overpriced Holiday Inn breakfast. Food was brilliant, very good value and quality was also good. Service was excellent with food freshly prepared and brought straight to our table. Very reasonable priced and just on the bus route into Edinburgh City centre. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely go back.

I've sat in once or twice,, but food is what you expect and food is what you'll get ,, I find it a little expensive but not overly expensive they have bills to pay like everyone else but they are nice people who own it ,, the girl loves banter

In Edinburgh for a few days and we fancied comfort food so saw the Roseburn Cafe was open, and I’m so glad we went in! Really affordable and the food was lovely! My partner had the caramel latte and though I personally don’t like coffee, it smelt amazing! The staff were really kind too — definitely visit here! 😊

Love this café. Tasty food, good breakfasts, friendly prompt service and great prices. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. Cheese omelette for breakfast kept my husband and me full all day. Latte is one of the best around.

Food, staff and service are fantastic, as stated by many other reviewers. Could easily become my go-to for breakfast in Edinburg. Please visit them soon, especially as they’re suffering due to road construction outside their front door. They are currently closed on Sunday because of the loss of business, so let’s support them Mon - Fri while they get through this.

A cafe offering breakfasts and other light snacks to sit in or take away. Very clean and welcoming. I really enjoyed breakfast here with my wee grandson. Staff were so attentive and he thoroughly enjoyed his fish fingers while a slurped my lovely frothy coffee Nice selection of tray bakes too Will be back :)

The cafe is a little outdated but that doesn't effect the quality of the food. However I was slightly disappointed that the full Scottish breakfast was with link sausage rather than lorne. Being a half breed (half Scottish half English) there is nothing better than a real full Scottish breakfast when coming up to bonnie Scotland. The food was really nice and staff seemed nice so all in all pretty good visit.

Cheap, quick and tasty food served my the most pleasant and friendly of staff. I wouldn’t be coming here if you want your bacon mashed up with avocado and fried in the shadow of a moon, but it’s perfect for your fry ups or a quick bite.

The Roseburn is a good old fashioned family run cafe. Great service, everything perfectly cooked to order, super fresh rolls and good coffee. Naturally busy at peak times but definitely not to be missed if you are in Edinburgh.

Fuimos aquí para el desayuno 3 días de nuestra estancia de cuatro días y en realidad caminamos en la lluvia para llegar allí! Con una ubicación ideal para el estadio Murrayfield o de camino a la ciudad. Un extenso menú en oferta para que todos sean atendidos. Después de otras visitas, sin duda volveremos.

Llamó para hacer un pedido de desayuno para llevar y la mujer del teléfono fue muy grosera hasta el punto que dijo "oh, por Dios" porque le pregunté cuánto costaba el desayuno y me dijo que estaba demasiado ocupada para decirme el Diferencia entre los desayunos. El personal es muy grosero y no volveré.

Este es un excelente café tradicional escocés con excelentes desayunos, buen té, excelente café y excelente servicio. La decoración no es nada del otro mundo, pero no se desanime. Este lugar se trata de una buena comida y bebidas, no de una decoración elegante. Un poco como los American Diners, donde sabes que es bueno cuando los policías comen allí, en Escocia sabes que es bueno cuando los trabajadores comen allí. Nos encantó.

Never a disappointing visit to be had at the Roseburn Cafe. Drunken Saturday nights are all the more palatable when you know you'll be nursing a coffee, awaiting a full Scottish, with chips, on a wet Sunday morning.

Since our hotel has a horrible breakfast we went here instead and we were very pleased. It does not look much for the world but it has a good breakfast and surprisingly good coffee.

Didn't want expensive hotel continental brekkie so came here best decision of the day! Just opening when we arrived 9 am on Sunday and quickly filled up, great food good price all served by a lovely lady rushed off her feet and request to come here again tomorrow from fussy 9 yr old, there is no higher praise.

A very tasty breakfast, nice little café. Me and my daughter gave it a go after reading good reviews on here. We were the only women in the café, the rest were workmen, maybe its the time we went in. we didn't feel uncomfortable and was made to feel welcome.

I would highly recommend a visit to the cafe, they have a great choice of sit-in breakfasts along with a large selection of filled rolls, both hot and cold, you can also get a wide range of meals, from salads to curry's to fish and chips. They also do a large range of take-away, all for a very reasonable price. All in all if you are a bit peckish I would suggest a wee visit to the Roseburn Cafe you won't be disappointed.

Been there for lunch during work a few times. Mainly had Scottish breakfasts and Roseburn Specials. The food is nicely cooked and tastes good. The service is very pleasant. And the price is right.

Met a pal there for breakfast. The helpings were big and very tasty too. Good coffee and great service. One small thing why was there no fried bread with the Scottish Breakfast. As I said its not a complaint just an observation. I will go back.

A walk away from the stadium. decent food, great coffee and lovely asevice. The owner/manager greeted people as they came in and it was a nice place to pop into.

I got a couple breakfast rolls for me and my father. They were nice. I only went in here because it was very early and it was the only place open. I had to stand outside whilst it was being made. The smell of grease lingered around and the tables had that "sticky" look to them. I would never sit in unless I wanted to walk around like a chip dipped in grease all day. The prices were great, though.A "workymans" cafe if you will.

Popular, welcoming, small Murrayfield cafe serving good quality cooked breakfasts, hot and cold filled rolls, burgers, baked potatoes, homemade baking and wholesome soups, a good defence against the Edinburgh winter weather. Good coffee too. Opens early morning, closes mid-afternoon. Great value.

I was early for a meeting and stumbled across this place to sit in whilst I waited. Macaroni and chips was nice. The atmosphere overall was friendly with the staff even offering banter to the regulars.

Last week my partner & I (non-locals) were staying at a nearby hotel, which was doing full Scottish breakfasts for £10. Thinking we might have something to eat at the zoo that we were walking to that morning, we passed Roseburn Cafe, advertising 'All Day Breakfasts' on the window, so we decided to go in. Had one of the best full Scottishes we've ever had - two bacon, two sausage, tattie, black pudding, mushrooms, slice of toast and egg however you like - all for £4.70!! Filled us up and set us up for the day, helped along by a generous-sized mug of coffee! While we were in there several locals came in and sat-in or took-away, so a sign of a good place! We enjoyed it so much we went back there for breakfast two days later! Staff really friendly too!

We went here when we went to the zoo for the day. The lady who runs the cafe was very friendly and welcoming. they do a wide selection of hot and cold food and the breakfasts fill you up ready for your trip to the zoo. be aware that the satnav postcode trys to take you to ghe back of the shop building. The cafe is on the main road not far past the zoo. Parking is allowed outside at weekends.

If you are looking for a breakfast to set you up for the day, try this place. The staff are welcoming and friendly, there are various choices of cooked breakfasts , we had the Roseburn Special but swapped the chips for hash brown and an omelette breakfast.The omelette was lovely, with just enough cheese and was cooked properly, not microwaved.The coffee is excellent and the tea comes in a big mug.This is a busy place, with telephone orders being placed, walk-in take-away orders as well as sitting-in customers, the food is prepared in front of you and everywhere is clean. It was 4 years since we were here and I was delighted to discover that the food is as good as it has always been.

If you're semi sociable you'll fit in. Great prices, bartenders and nice open space. Good whisky selection. End our nights here to wind down and talk with the locals.
