Lively spot filled with locals. Great beer & whiskey selection. The “bunker” downstairs was quiet & comfortable while the main room was packed and loud (in a good way). Good bar food.

Great place for drinks and food. Awesome selection of beer, wine, and whisky. Waterfront location had Inis & Gunn Original on draft(delicious). Friendly and efficient service and great atmosphere at both locations

Delicious food and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Away from the tourist crowds. The haggis is great with the mustard sauce and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Well worth a visit.

Very much enjoyed the old school pub style. The service was very quick and friendly. As a vegan tourist I was very happy to try the “haggis”. Very very happy with it and will try to make my own homemade version. 5 cask ales at the bar with two of them rotating. So perfect for the beer tasting tourist as well!

We visited 3 times while in Edinburgh. Friendly people and lively pub atmosphere. The Seafood Board is superb.

I love the vibe, they have nice varieties of ciders and beers. I love that they have sour beers. The mac n cheese mug was very filling paired with a few drinks. Servers were friendly and got my friend’s dog a water bowl and treats.

I got the mug of Cullen skink, mug of mac, and a gin and tonic with Isle of Harris gin the server recommended. Everything was great. The mac was rich and creamy, the gin was refreshing. My friend said his steak pie had a nice crispy crust. Great vibes. A good friendly pub.

Excellent food but the experience was spoiled by the number of dogs barking, spilling water and laying all over the floor. I don't like dogs in eating areas

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. A great selection of beers and ciders, and the foods hearty with generous portions - I'm told the chip butty was the best. Lovely little cosy pub tucked out the way of the main city centre. Worth a visit.

Excellent food and a very good gantry.

A excellent dinner experience! The service was fantastic, quick & friendly. It was super busy when we arrived but with a bit of juggling were shown to a table in a quiet corner. We had the Haggis, neets & tatters and the grilled chicken, both meals were excellent paired with a pint of Edinburgh black. PS. We have now been here for 3 meals this week. I would also highly recommend the Cullen skink ( the soap was so tasty) & the fish & chips were for me the best in Scotland. Crunchy & fresh with awesome chips. Highly recommend this place as a must go!

The food was delicious, I loved the soup in the mug and the cider and beer on tap were great too! Too bad about the too much noise near our table, we couldn't talk to each other because the neighbors had an extremely loud tone of voice....and be careful if you come by car, it's in the LEZ area, you risk a fine if you don't have the 'car authorized to enter!

Incredibly intimate and social atmosphere at the same time. Tastylicious mains, and fish and chips crispy to the nines! After vacationing all over the UK and Scotland for a week, this is without question the best fish and chips we had had. Can't forget to mention the very friendly staff.

Great restaurant, good local food

I wish I had known before going that there are TVs showing sport with the volume on. Food was decent and competitively priced. Service (possibly the manager?) was a bit grumpy.

Belter of a pub. Great grub, gluten free menu is as good as the non gf food which is a major plus and of course the beer is LOVELY (also the best gf range on tap I've seen to date). Must also be noted that the Guiness is sublime.

Come here often, food is great and well priced, bar always busy and great atmosphere. Lots of whisky and other spirits to choose from, and some nice wine choices also. Would recommend- book ahead if coming in group especially at weekend.

I ate the best food I've ever tasted in the UK. Portions were quite large and very tasty. Haggis, steakpie and cullen skink were amazing. French fries are a bonus!

Excellent Edinburgh pub. One of the best veggie burgers I’ve had in a while, even had a tasty gluten-free bun.

Delicious classic Scottish pub food, and huge range of craft beers. Thoroughly recommend if you are in Edinburgh for a few days and want a 'typical' meal. Off the beaten track enough so that you don't feel you are in a tourist trap. And once you ask the barman how to pronounce the name of the place, you won't feel like a tourist any more either!

Atmosphere a bit flat, but probably due to time of day. Burger was amazing, chips had obviously been reheated and were really dark, mentioned that when paying and the bartender said, 'That's great!' Obviously paying attention 🤦‍♂️

Wha an amazing meal atmosphere and service. The found is outstanding! The top floor is a cool authentic Scottish pub and down stairs is a beautiful dark candlelight room with amazing food. The fish pie was amazing as was the steak pie Definitely highly recommend and will return during this trip. Our waiter Charlie was very professional and gave us great service.

Great pub! A few steps off the beaten path. Great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. Gluten free fish and chip batter! 5 choices for vegan/vegetarians which my daughter was so happy to see. 8 of us loved it from 83 year old mother in law to my 18 year old daughter. Recommended!!

Our AirBnB was a block away from Teuchters on a quiet side street. The place was always jammed at night (with locals), and we had lunch there one day during the Fringe Festival. A delightful surprise, food (and beer) was excellent and staff very friendly. Highly recommend.

Came here for a quick lunchtime bite to eat and it was the perfect stop. Tasty lunchtime grub and enormous portions! Nice service and music playing made an enjoyable atmosphere.

This is a fantastic pub with top class service. Worth going out of your way to come here. We are visitors to Edinburgh and were made to feel very welcome at this pub, by both staff and guests.

We popped in with a group including my lovely feral children. The staff were fab and the food was great too. Would 100% recommend the Cullen Skink!

Well we knew going into it that it was going to be so packed with locals-a Saturday night and England was playing Switzerland. We kept hoping to secure a table, but two beers in and we knew it was not goin to happens. It went into OT kids and well, you guessed ur, England won! It was insane with enthusiasm! We were able to get an order of fish and chips in and they were fabulous?

What a fun spot! Great prices, good food and friendly service! We stumbled upon it while walking and decided to go grab a bite. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice and friendly! They have big screen TVs to watch the matches so it was a fun afternoon!

I had a couple of beers at this pub and enjoyed both the beer and the service, as well as the traditional Scottish ambiance which prevents me from giving these great places low ratings.

[UPDATED] Overall: Awesome except mac & cheese. They've cut down on their menu items but still have generous portions of VERY delicious food. Recommended for dates, dark and personal atmosphere. [2nd] Upon our second visit, I've noticed that they took some items off their menu. This disappointed me, but they still had an interesting array of options. Their grilled chicken main is a deconstructed chicken balmoral, a delectable chicken and haggis dish with an amazing whisky cream sauce. Though not a large portion compared to the other options. Their venison and pork sausage was massive and juicy, and came with loads of chips. Their chips are more like mini wedges, they're so crispy with a nice fluff on the inside, and seasoned with some spices. So tasty!! My mother enjoyed her vegetarian burger, I thought it wasnt great but too each their own. They had a very dark atmosphere and we struggled to read the menu. [1st] Proper scottish scran in a lovely wee pub, got the cullen skink and mac (no photo). Mac was floury and not cheesy, not great. Cullen skink was creamy, smoky, and quite filling at 6.50. Friends had fish and chips (small was a good size for one!) and steak pie, both said were good. Will come again for their other menu items!

Far too expensive for me, that's the main issue. Unpleasant fishy smell on the evening I was there and the range of cask ales is uninspiring and as I said over priced. Not a pub I will visit again.

Nice pub, heavily frequented by locals and tourists. It was just a bit too loud and too crowded for us. We had a nice conversation with other guests over a beer outside on the street.

Very tasty fish and chips but let down by slow service. Went for lunch in a big group. We had pre ordered in advance. Arrived at 1pm. Food did not come out until 1.45pm. 10% service charge not worth it.

Teuchters offers a great variety of high quality drinks. Our server recommended our beers based on our preferences and we both ended up loving them. We also ordered the nachos, they tasted great and had a pretty good quantity. Would recommend!

Dropped in with my mates on Saturday 18th May 2024. Met with a cheery welcome from the staff. Great selection of cask and craft beer. Loved the chips in a mug. Will most definitely visit again.

Fabulous pub in the heart of Edinburgh's West End. Food was great, beer was good and the football was on. No parking that I could see, but the tram stop is a 5 minute walk.

Guy who served us - 10/10 great human, jokes and loads of respect. Food. Fish and ships. Best fish and ships i ever had. Not sure I can do with the fish and ships i have in MTL. The place is amazing, energy vibe and good people. For me it is one of the city landmarks.

this is my my regular. for drinks and light eats. It gets very crowded on Rugby days, but otherwise reasonable for food, drink and space.

Very busy pub, unfortunately not able to eat here as no space hence the 'non food score'. Beer was good though, wish we could have experienced the whole service, but alas at this time not. Definitely a must for a visit if in the area though

Authentic Edinburgh pub with a welcoming atmosphere and good food.

Everyone should try the cullen skink here. I went to a restaurant recommended by a tour guide in a Highland seaside village, and this place was much more delicious. The steak pie was okay, but honestly, the soup was so delicious... I keep thinking about it... I think I'll want to go again when I come to Edinburgh.

Easily one of my favorite pubs in town...and I visited many pubs. On a side street west of the old city and away from the noise and crowds just around the corner on Princes St. The energy and vibes at this cozy tavern are nearly unparalleled. Just something special about the interior, the beer selection, the staff, the menu. It's all stellar and creates a special experience. Some great cask ales, comfortable seating throughout, and food that emphasizes local producers and fresh ingredients. The cullen skink (smoked haddock chowder) was absolutely incredible. Some of the best chowder I've ever had. I just love what they're doing here and it's one of the reasons I returned multiple times during my trip. Also don't miss Teuchters Landing over near the water in Leith!
