Fantastic pub... one of my favorites during our entire trip. Lots of folk, lots of energy... fun place

Had a wonderful time at Teuchters. The food was second to none, a proper British pub which clearly isn't just there to appeal to tourists. Wasn't exactly wetherspoons cheap but with the quality of food and in contrast with prices in other Edinburgh pubs, Teuchters is well worth it. Had a wonderful experience with the host who even wrote down some places in Leith he recommended. Will definitely return when in Edinburgh.

Amazing pub with really nice vibes. There is one staff member that that walks around your tables every 30 seconds ( I wish that was a joke) and snatches your glasses physically out of your hand the second liquid has gone. It’s not really an issue but it’s so weird.

We got seated in the downstairs part of the restaurant which is nice and cosy but very noisy. On the food front, we both started with a mug of Cullen skink, lovely, tasty and I would recommend . For mains we ordered the steak pie which was very good, filled to the max with a good quality filling and also had the large fish and chips which was a bit disappointing, good fresh fish but it was far too greasy. Service was good. Price was a tad high for pub grub but that comes with the location. All in all, okay 👍

Great pub in the heart of Edinburgh serving typical pub grub options and plenty of different local beers to try. Usually shows the sport on big screen. Can get mega busy though

Mi esposa reservó para una cena y me asignaron una mesa en el búnker. El bar y restaurante es un bar tradicional escocés. Gran ambiente con clientes bulliciosos. Tuvimos pescado y patatas fritas, que era encantador. ¡Papas fritas caseras! Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Edimburgo.

Good choice of cask ales and great wine list

A supernice place, great atmosphere, good selection of beers, amazing stuff and the food is ok, considering we're in a pub (so don't expect anything too fancy...).

The Cullen Skink is what we came here for and we were not disappointed. Other places in Edinburgh pale into insignificance when it comes to the quality of their Cullen Skink. Please come here for the true experience. Its wonderful and a taste sensation. A meal in its self x

Great boozers. Wide selection of well conditined ales on tap & great whiskey selection. Food is pretty decent. Good for watching the eggy baw 🏉

Best fish supper in a long time! Great IPA

I’ve been here a couple of times with friends and yesterday I decided to bring friends that were visiting Edinburgh. But I was in completely shock when I was over charged for the whiskey I ordered, the price in the menu was less than in the receipt. When I asked to the waiter he just said the prices gone up, but it’s a criminal offense to charge you different prices and don’t correct it in your bill. Also, surprisingly my friends ordered a steak pie single and a regular one, the only difference was a spoon of mash that costs 7 pounds! I won’t come back to a place that doesn’t have a minimum respect for the customer.

Great pub with good choice of beers. Food was good and reasonably priced, and pleased to see a kitchen that makes chips rather than the usual bland frozen ones served in most places. Would recommend booking for food as it was busy. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Typical Scottish pub with two floors. The basement floor is much quieter and suitable for dining. Many beer options and all the staff very kindly advises on them. The fish pie was delicious. Very good experience!

Lovely pub - we loved it. Lots of different whiskeys and it was possible to buy a tasting board with 3 different whiskies. 4 rotating taps with beer - always the best from Scotland - and in addition a lot of other beers on tap. Really cozy and worth a visit 👍🏻

Excellent pub just out of the touristy bustle. Staff was amazing, the food and drink were among the best on our trip so far. 10/10 would recommend. We were there on the 28th of November 2024 just before it got busy (about 5pm). We’ll definitely be back again.

Friendly staff. Good selection of beers and spirits including real ales and American style beers. Straightforward menu. I didn't eat but what came out of the kitchen looked good. Also, the cleanest gents lavatories I have seen in my life!

Popped in with 2 friends, had a couple of beers each and a burger which was superb, server with home made chips and salad, massive burger really tasty, one of the best I've tasted. Nice atmosphere with a bistro feel. A bit pricey but it is Edinburgh after all!

Had to write a review about this place as we've just had the most wonderful meal we've eaten out for a long time. We needed to find a place that was dog friendly and had a good food menu and believe me that's not always easy. The reception when we arrived was very warm and friendly the atmosphere in the bar was fantastic and the drinks selection was also good. We decided we'd try something we didn't eat at home so went for a Stew of Venison Bourguinon . It was so tasty and the meat melted in your mouth. We will definitely call into this very friendly Gem of a bar on our future visits to Edinburgh.

Lively spot filled with locals. Great beer & whiskey selection. The “bunker” downstairs was quiet & comfortable while the main room was packed and loud (in a good way). Good bar food.

Delicious food and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Away from the tourist crowds. The haggis is great with the mustard sauce and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Well worth a visit.

Very much enjoyed the old school pub style. The service was very quick and friendly. As a vegan tourist I was very happy to try the “haggis”. Very very happy with it and will try to make my own homemade version. 5 cask ales at the bar with two of them rotating. So perfect for the beer tasting tourist as well!

Lovely pub, great food, nice atmosphere

We visited 3 times while in Edinburgh. Friendly people and lively pub atmosphere. The Seafood Board is superb.

I love the vibe, they have nice varieties of ciders and beers. I love that they have sour beers. The mac n cheese mug was very filling paired with a few drinks. Servers were friendly and got my friend’s dog a water bowl and treats.

Brilliant pub with amazing food and drinks. Very friendly staff

I got the mug of Cullen skink, mug of mac, and a gin and tonic with Isle of Harris gin the server recommended. Everything was great. The mac was rich and creamy, the gin was refreshing. My friend said his steak pie had a nice crispy crust. Great vibes. A good friendly pub.

Excellent food but the experience was spoiled by the number of dogs barking, spilling water and laying all over the floor. I don't like dogs in eating areas

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. A great selection of beers and ciders, and the foods hearty with generous portions - I'm told the chip butty was the best. Lovely little cosy pub tucked out the way of the main city centre. Worth a visit.

Excellent food and a very good gantry.

A excellent dinner experience! The service was fantastic, quick & friendly. It was super busy when we arrived but with a bit of juggling were shown to a table in a quiet corner. We had the Haggis, neets & tatters and the grilled chicken, both meals were excellent paired with a pint of Edinburgh black. PS. We have now been here for 3 meals this week. I would also highly recommend the Cullen skink ( the soap was so tasty) & the fish & chips were for me the best in Scotland. Crunchy & fresh with awesome chips. Highly recommend this place as a must go!

Great pub. Great atmosphere. Was gutted the chilli bowl was off the menu but the chilli dog was still top notch.

The food was delicious, I loved the soup in the mug and the cider and beer on tap were great too! Too bad about the too much noise near our table, we couldn't talk to each other because the neighbors had an extremely loud tone of voice....and be careful if you come by car, it's in the LEZ area, you risk a fine if you don't have the 'car authorized to enter!

Really excellent food, good service and a nice space - great pub.

Incredibly intimate and social atmosphere at the same time. Tastylicious mains, and fish and chips crispy to the nines! After vacationing all over the UK and Scotland for a week, this is without question the best fish and chips we had had. Can't forget to mention the very friendly staff.

Great restaurant, good local food

I wish I had known before going that there are TVs showing sport with the volume on. Food was decent and competitively priced. Service (possibly the manager?) was a bit grumpy.

Belter of a pub. Great grub, gluten free menu is as good as the non gf food which is a major plus and of course the beer is LOVELY (also the best gf range on tap I've seen to date). Must also be noted that the Guiness is sublime.

Come here often, food is great and well priced, bar always busy and great atmosphere. Lots of whisky and other spirits to choose from, and some nice wine choices also. Would recommend- book ahead if coming in group especially at weekend.

I ate the best food I've ever tasted in the UK. Portions were quite large and very tasty. Haggis, steakpie and cullen skink were amazing. French fries are a bonus!

Excellent Edinburgh pub. One of the best veggie burgers I’ve had in a while, even had a tasty gluten-free bun.

Fuera de lo común para que no sientas que estás en una trampa turística. Y una vez que le preguntes al barman cómo pronunciar el nombre del lugar, ¡ya no te sentirás como un turista!

Atmosphere a bit flat, but probably due to time of day. Burger was amazing, chips had obviously been reheated and were really dark, mentioned that when paying and the bartender said, 'That's great!' Obviously paying attention 🤦‍♂️

Great pub! A few steps off the beaten path. Great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. Gluten free fish and chip batter! 5 choices for vegan/vegetarians which my daughter was so happy to see. 8 of us loved it from 83 year old mother in law to my 18 year old daughter. Recommended!!

Nuestro AirBnB estaba a una cuadra de Teuchters en una calle tranquila. El lugar siempre estaba atascado por la noche (con los lugareños), y almorzamos allí un día durante el Festival Fringe. Una sorpresa encantadora, la comida (y cerveza) era excelente y el personal muy amable. Muy recomendable.

Came here for a quick lunchtime bite to eat and it was the perfect stop. Tasty lunchtime grub and enormous portions! Nice service and music playing made an enjoyable atmosphere.

Cozy and ambient. Well heeled professionals and office workers. Huge whisky selection, Sport on TV with rugby dominant.

This is a fantastic pub with top class service. Worth going out of your way to come here. We are visitors to Edinburgh and were made to feel very welcome at this pub, by both staff and guests.

We popped in with a group including my lovely feral children. The staff were fab and the food was great too. Would 100% recommend the Cullen Skink!

What a fun spot! Great prices, good food and friendly service! We stumbled upon it while walking and decided to go grab a bite. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice and friendly! They have big screen TVs to watch the matches so it was a fun afternoon!

Well we knew going into it that it was going to be so packed with locals-a Saturday night and England was playing Switzerland. We kept hoping to secure a table, but two beers in and we knew it was not goin to happens. It went into OT kids and well, you guessed ur, England won! It was insane with enthusiasm! We were able to get an order of fish and chips in and they were fabulous?
