Rose & Crown Farmhouse Kitchen in Stroud

Twice we have tried to eat here abd both times it was closed. Try putting some opening hours on somewhere so we can avoid wasting time and fuel. Its weds and it says not too busy at the moment!

location was great, room was nice.....however! we booked for a 2 night stay and arrived to check in at 1500 as advertised....we travelled from Portsmouth and arrived at around 1510. en-route my wife recieved a voicemail from the location stating it would now be closed between 1500 and 1700 (we didn't get the voicemail till we arrived). we knocked on doors front and back but no-one around. we had already checked in on line but no keys were left in the drop box. handy! we went off somewhere else for a meal n drink then headed back just after 1700. still no-one around, we tried ringing but straight o voicemail. we txt and eventually someone got back to us.... we finally got I to our room just before 1800. they did give us a complimentary bottle of wine. we had booked into a room with a roll top bath... we didn't get that. the room we were in, the electric kept going off. If we had wanted breakfast we would have been very much out of luck as no-one was ever around on a morning and the pub was only open for 2 hours on the evening we arrived. would have been nice to go for a drink after a long day travelling h around the area. all in all very disappointed.... we visit the Cotswolds quite regularly but we wont be going back to this establishment.

Just went for a pint with my best mate, the guys behind the bar were lovely and super helpful, beer was good and had a lovely chat with the Lady behind the bar, would love to buy some of her veg from her allotment!

Although the pub itself wasn't I had very easy access to the room. There were instructions left in the room and the key was in a lock box. Would have loved to tried the food. Bit of a signal blackspot for some networks. Beautifully quiet and a lovely room that was absolutely spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Food was nice, pre booked and went for lunch table of 7. Service could have been better, a drinks order was forgotten and we had to request to ask about deserts. They didn't do coffees or hotchoc either and after a long wait this was all we wanted. When coming to pay the bill, this had to be paid at they bar and they couldn't offer a print out which when In a big group isn't very convenient. Nice little pub with lovely atmosphere but more could be done customer service wise

Popped in today as we were visiting a couple of places . Nice warm welcome , very good menu - had a lovely burger and my wife had a veggie option . Pint was excellent . Would definitely recommend a visit .

Friendly traditional pub/restaurant. Good traditional food, enjoyed their mushrooms on sourdough and main course faggots. Good portion sizes. Interesting selection of ales...reasonable prices for food and drinks.....will return

A disappointing experience for an evening meal. The manager seemed eager to seat us, although once seated the service received was minimal throughout. Although not busy the staff ignored us. The manager and the wait staff seemed too concerned with their own self-importance than serving the customer's needs. They were busy chatting at the bar for long periods of time whilst we spent several minutes trying to attract their attention, raising our hands, and patiently saying excuse me. We were continuously ignored and eventually had to call out to the staff to receive service. The staff gave a us an obviously dirty baby chair for our daughter and we had to ask for napkins to clean it ourselves. This was particularly poor hygiene considering the current covid situation. The food was mediocre at best. The fish and chips were of a similar quality to an Asda cafe, although smaller in portion. Limp thin batter, small size fish and slightly undercooked chips. It was disappointing that the manager suggested the poor service and lack of food quality was a result of not booking. Our party was polite and courteous throughout. The service staff were inattentive and aloof. Overall, poor value for money, incredibly poor service, a very disappointing experience.

Lovely pub with ample parking, friendly staff greet you with a smile! The menu is varied with veggie and vegan options but for the average person (like me) the menu didn't appeal a great deal as its "to posh" I had fish and chips (simple choice like me) which was delicious but a tad on the pricey side. My friend had a pork dish which looked lovely and she enjoyed it. I would definitely go again (for lunch and simpler menu).

We stayed here for two nights while attending a family wedding at Kingscote Barn. A mere 4 miles away. Very convenient. When we were going to have dinner there we were told the chef had been delayed with transport issues. Jenny paid for us to go to the sister pub near tetbury called the Tippits. Highly recommended. Had a lovely meal there. Couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast each morning wad delicious. Our room was very comfortable with our own free standing bath rather strange at first but very relaxing. .Will recommend staying there again.

Great find, lovely pub, great setting. Really enjoyed my visit here, had a couple of pints, and a breakfast bap which couldn't get any better. Menu very appealing and loads looked good. Atmosphere lovely, staff are helpful and friendly and service pretty bang on. This place really Great all year I would imagine but felt warm and homely on an autumnal Saturday.. I will re visit soon.
