Rose & Crown in Redditch

My husbands goes to this pub as his regular haunt. Every time I have been with him we have been greeted most warmly and the pub food is excellent. What I would like to praise especially is the takeaway service. We have had this about 4 times so far and have never been disappointed. Last evening he had the pork tomahawk, which was delicious but a bit too copious for him to cope with at one sitting. So, be warned! You really do get a lot for your money. The dish I would most like to recommend is the lemon and raspberry mousse. It is light but so refreshing. We will definitely have it again (and again).

Went for lunch today with friends 9th April. Had a superb lunch. Great food, large portions and great value for money. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered the pork tomahawk today off the new menu. It looked and tasted delicious I will definitely be back for another. Great value

Anniversary and birthday celebration was made perfect by the excellent food and superb service received. Richard ensured we had a great and memorable time during our visit to this family friendly venue. I would certainly recommend the Rose and crown to friends and family.

Visited the Rose & Crown on 5/4/2025 at lunchtime. It was a family visit and special occasion. We were served by Richard who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, we all ordered different meals. The food all arrived out at the same time and was cooked well and presented as per the picture on the menu. Well done Rose & Crown I would definitely recommend a visit.

Nice looking pub really let down by ordinany food and staff that really did not present well and clearly did not want to be there. Many food options not available.

Early Wednesday evening and the place was fairly quiet. Ordered drinks and food. Was not informed there was any wait on food when ordering. While we were sat having our drinks we noticed that nothing was coming from the kitchen area. We enquired after about 25 minutes if our food was near ready, told it would be about 5/10 minutes. Again, another 20 minutes past and we asked again that it would be 5 minutes. Wait another 15 minutes and still nothing. Paid for our drinks and left. When placing the order had we been told there was a wait we wouldn't have stopped. The pub is starting to look "tiered" and could do with a a refurb or deep clean.

Great little place, staff are lovely and accommodating. Food is delicious and reasonably priced for both portion size and quality. This was the first time visiting here and given this experience we will be back.

Food was bland, kids meals were tiny for what you pay, will not be coming again. Food was generally bollocks.

Food was cold, soggy and sad. Staff didn’t clear the table pre main coming. No warm. Don’t bother coming. Food was a waste.

Food was rank, ordered our daughter the children's over 6 hunters chicken, it came and was ridiculously tiny. Was less than half a slice of bread in size. The steak we had ordered was tough when ordered medium. Chips were cold as if they'd been left out same with the steak. The chicken that came with the steak was hard and seemed to had been left out. Just terrible really.

Fabulous atmosphere, the staff are accommodating, professional, friendly and fun when busy. They catered for 11, all of our meals were served in a timely manner, hot, well presented and awesome quality. Thank you see you soon x

Reasonable and friendly local pub

We went for a group lunch, so about 16 in total. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as a large number of people were in wheelchairs or using 'walkers' due to mobility problems. The food and drinks were very good, and at a good price, together with being served in a pleasant manner. Would definitely recommend it.

Very welcoming friendly staff, especially the 2 ladies who were on that evening. The ladies were rushed off their feet, it was so busy but you'd never have know, they continuously smiled and welcomed everyone the same. The food arrived piping hot and was delicious.

We arrived on a busy Friday evening and were welcomed straight away and shown our table. Despite the volume of customers, the staff were efficient in their service and remained upbeat throughout. They were friendly and helpful, and hard working. The food was delicious, generous portions and arrived piping hot. Our first time in a sizzling pub but definitely not our last.

Once again a lovely meal at the sizzling pub. Food is always lovely and the staff are always polite and provide good service.

Well if you like being seated by a toilet or a cold out door this is your place the food is ok, the wine you may wish to avoid but you pay your money and take your choice

£18 for 2 mains 2 pints, great service and attentive staff. What possibly could one ask of a quick midday lunch. Not sure why they are another to place the parking system of register your registration at the bar system. Me thinks these parking firms have found a cash cow. Still, just don't forget.

I ordered a hot chocolate as part of the meal and it was almost forgotten about, i also had a pepper corn sauce as part of the steak meal and it was completely forgotten about, the chips on the one meal were very over cooked. I just feel like the proper attention wasn't applied and the bar woman was kinda rude when the issues were raised

Great food and a good price but the bar person was not that polite , and seemed to be on her phone a lot instead of maybe clearing some tables .

Came in today with my partner and sat down straight away as lots of empty tables. Woman came over .. no hello just “have you booked”. We said no and the reply was “ok weve been really busy today and we dont have much left and the kitchen is closing soon”. This left us feeling a little unwelcome. I felt this was early to close the kitchen as we arrived at 7.15pm. My partner approached the woman again and asked when the kitchen was closing and sorry we just sat straight down”. Blunt reply of “30 mins”. Left swiftly after that. Completely understand if it’s been busy and items are running low but there was no basic customer service skills.

We arrived to have dinner, drinks and play cards for date night, our table was reserved and we opened a tab for the evening. We didn't realise it was Karaoke night but the music gave a great atmosphere and the DJ was playing some great songs all night. (Regardless of the low uptake on actual karaoke!) We stayed until last orders as we were having a brilliant time! The staff were friendly and the other customers were all happy and enjoying themselves. Only downside was how hot it was in there, I appreciate it had been a cold week but the table we were at was like sitting on the sun, after eating we asked to move and the staff let us choose another table. They said they weren't allowed to change the heating.

Festive menu is fantastic. Had the Christmas cracker stacker and it was absolutely delicious! Would certainly recommend booking as when it’s busy it’s a struggle to get a table as not the biggest

We popped in for food, however all the tables were booked. The staff went out of their way to find us a table, before the main booking came in. The food came quickly, was freshly prepared and hot. We will come again

Some staff pulling faces, didn't look like they wanted to be there. Barked " Finished" at me. Hospitality? I don't think so.

Food and staff excellent as always

Had mega mixed grill, food was excellent, all the meat cooked to juicy perfection! There were only 3 staff including the chef and the 2 ladies were rushed off their feet! This didn’t stop them from providing an excellent service, we didn’t wait at all for our food! Staff did a stellar job, will definitely go back again!

Came with a group for a meal this evening, and was very disappointed in the attitude of the service staff. We had to wait nearly an hour for our food, but not told that there would be up to an hour's wait. We ordered our food, up to half an hour later, we were informed that the lasagne we had ordered was not available?? There was a few orders we made, when they came to the table, the food was missing, on the order but we wasn't told until it was served to us. Puddings were ordered with meals, and even we had to ask where they were. The service standards were unacceptable, as the restaurant was not at full capacity, as a group, we felt we were not treated in the correct manner, this is a great shame as we are local, the interior has been done out really nice, just a shame of the attitude of the service staff.

Excellent food, had sirloin steak and chips for the 2nd time and cooked exactly as requested. Nice table, friendly helpful staff. Have eaten here a few times and very consistant quality. Always book online which is simple and quick to confirm.

Nice pub, friendly and efficient staff. Very good price but the worst chips I've ever tried. Cheap over cooked frozen chips but nice fish. Unfortunately won't be returning.

Emma and Alison were working today. They were brilliant. Welcoming and friendly, went above and beyond. Food was perfect.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced as usual. We do quite regularly visit the Rose and Crown in Redditch. Yesterday, we didn't notice a sign in the car park about having to sign in our car registrations (we went in 2 cars as we had to travel separately afterwards) until we were on our way out. Therefore, we phoned the Rose and Crown to inquire about the consequences of not signing in to which we were informed that in about 2 weeks we would receive some form of fine from the car parking company! This procedure is a change from our previous visits and we were distracted as we are currently dealing with a close relative dying and therefore didn't read the signs. If we were alerted to the need to sign in when we ordered, we would have done so. One of us therefore returned to ask for a till receipt to prove we had eaten there and evidence to try to have the penalty cancelled when they're received. So, please make sure, you sign in your car registration if you are going to the Rose and Crown at Redditch to eat.

We visited yesterday lunch time to celebrate our son's GCSE results, family of 5, the food here is great value and good quality and the service is also very good, would highly recommend and will definitely return! 👍 We had the following 2 x Fish and Chips 2 x Chicken Gyros Wraps 1 x Mac N Cheese We also had 1 drink each and it all came to less than £45 👍

Reserved a table on line and requested a specific table which was waiting for us on arrival. Greeted by friendly member of staff and were served our drinks promptly. When food arrived it was freshly cooked and plentiful one of the nicest fish and chips eaten in a long time. This is the second time we have visited and both times a very good experience all round. Keep up the good work.

Great staff great pub. Food is usually very good. I’m not of a fan of the new menu I miss the lunch menu with wraps. Staff are very quick to serve you. I use the app sometimes and it’s almost immediately served. Only not 5* because I want the WRAPS back please!

What a fantastic night at the rose and crown watching the euro final. The staff were working so hard and the atmosphere was fantastic! Great value for money too! We shall be back!

On their website they say they are dog friendly. Please be warned they are not. We were met with a very abrupt staff member who told to remove our dog after only putting one foot through the door. We had booked online adding in the fact we were bringing a dog. The manager also was rude saying she hadn't been the one to check todays booking otherwise we would have recieved a call to say dogs are not welcome. Totally disgusted by their manner. Will never visit again even without our dog.

Great that we can order food from the table and we can find our booked table easily due to the clear sign with my name on it . Good range of food which is reasonably priced and delicious. Staff are friendly. Ample car parking for when we frequent which isn't at busy times. Location is close to our home.

We been there with my family on sunday, the nachos it’s good . But after I ordered Mac and cheese and some grill chicken and the chicken is still raw :/ So Im disappointed because of this ..And a pasta it’s not too creamy And fresh I think.. But by the way a lemonade it’s quite good

Visited on recomendation from friends,wasnt dissapointed, staff were very polite and offered to move our table away from a new born with a great set of lungs, not that we mind kids but it was appreciated, great family atmosphere and very reasonably price menue. will definatly go again.

Went for a table of 5 at about 6:45, said they didn’t have any tables free but when we walked in it was empty, the waitress didn’t even take us to our table just pointed , starters came rather quickly , however wings were cold, felt like had no time to eat them as 5 minutes later they bought out or mains, nobody checked back about the food, we went outside for 5 minutes to find our drinks (which were still half full) had been cleared from the table. We ordered puddings which were 3 ice creams yet still took 20 minutes to arrive, staff seemed miserable and rude, there was no atmosphere or vibe about the place and I personally will not be returning.

Shame about the sticky tables (wiped down but still sticky which is generally the result of long term hot plates directly on table…it makes the varnish sticky) and the noisy (shouting, crying and singing), because food is good value and staff are welcoming and friendly. I’d like to say we’d visit more often but unfortunately this has been our experience both times we’ve visited.

Usually the food and speed of delivery is excellent but felt let down somewhat on this occasion, we waited over half hour and my Salmon was very dry and hard around the edges unfortunately, my husbands meal wasn't quite right either, he was missing some items but we didn't bother complaining because we were too hungry at that point so just accepted it and ate it

First visit for me. I was pleased with the decor and comfortable seating. The menu is what you would expect for a pub, but it was made more enjoyable by the good food and efficient service. A very good price.

We take our wonderful residents here as its a very welcoming, comfortable and exciting experience for them, we have never had a bad experience and this is our go to place. Food is delicious, great price, good deals and even on a busy day the wait isn't that long. I would highly recommend.

Came here with the family, staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was lovely. Deserts were also very nice, and great offers on the menu for those with kids!

Staff are miserable, rubbish customer service. Food took forever and drinks were at the table soon as we'd sat down so all the ice had melted and drinks tasted horrible. Fish and chips were okay, decent sized portion. Desserts were a let down, cold sticky toffee pudding and the custard with the crumble was cold.

Last minute no cooking so decided to go for lunch.Staff lovely no pressure on getting out.Food lovely

Wonderful visit again to the Rose and Crown, you cannot fault the value for money. The staff are great, asking all the way through if meals are ok and if we needed anything else. We had Rachel serving us, she's great and you can tell she's been working there for a while because of her knowledge and wrinkles! Defo would recommend.

Visited for lunch and enjoyed the friendly welcome from the manager and their team The food was fantastic, well presented and delicious! No problem parking and there is a great selection of non alcoholic drinks. Lovely venue and highly recommended. 10/10 for sure 👍
