Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

Good and coffee was first class. Unfortunately they allow dogs inside but do not manage them. Table next to me couple had dog and every time somebody went near the dog barked loudly. This happened more than once. The cafe staff did not ask the dog owners to go outside, which the dog owners should have done automatically. Shame really as I regularly visit this cafe when I am staying down here and have recommend to friends. Oh we’ll have to find somewhere else I suppose.

We arrived late when they had shut down the tills and a lovely gentleman gave us free coffee and cake both of which were very tasty. Fantastic and a much appreciated gesture. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

Really loved this venue. A delightful area inside and out, friendly, chatty staff and our lunches were first class and the coffee excellent.

Disappointed as had heard good things from friends. Had booked a table and we had a small toddler with us. Walked in and felt like forever to be greeted and seated. Extremely busy on a Saturday and acoustics makes it hard to hear your table speak. Felt kind of chaotic and I wanted to leave when I arrived! Nevertheless finally got seated and plastic chairs looked very grubby. No high chair for my son so had to feed on lap. Managed to feed him and were still waiting for anyone to come and take our order about twenty mins later. I do understand when a place is busy but in my opinion a place is only as good as its service! Got up and left. Having a young child with us, I didn’t think he would make it through the time for order to be taken/be served etc. Shame. Went to have a look in the deli which seemed very overpriced. Maybe it’s just a weekend problem but it’s put me off returning.

Lovely new venue on the edge of this historic town. Beware that it seems to have its sights firmly set on families with young children and has both indoor and outdoor play areas. So it can be a bit noisy inside next to the many children. The food was lovely, if a bit expensive. The Bakewell slice was gone in 3 mouthfuls and was more expensive than the average for the area. There is plenty on onsite car parking, with multiple EV charging points, but none of the parking is free.

We visited twice in January, once for breakfast and once for just a bacon sarnie and coffee. The service was very good, the staff very helpful at all times and the table clean and tidy. It is very popular with dog walkers and children as it is situated at the edge of Cirencester Park. If you are not a dog lover and want to avoid small children then this may not be for you, but if you are a more normal person with a relaxed attitude then Roots+Seeds is a dream venue. We are very tempted to try their Sunday Lunch as a treat once the weather warms up. Compares very well with Cote's food and service.

Having been to Roots + Seeds a few times with my family, our friend group decided to book our Christmas meal there, it was the most delicious food!! Excellent service as always. Roots + Seeds are impeccable with all they do and I can not recommend them highly enough.

The lovely food and tea/coffee were let down by very poor service. Table was dirty and chair was wet, we had to ask for absolutely everything by getting up and going to the counter (cutlery, sauces, glasses, butter etc.), staff were in a terrible rush and we were not made to feel welcome. Music far too loud which added to a somewhat stressful atmosphere. Truly some of the most disappointing service I have had in Gloucestershire recently.

Stopped in for a quick coffee and cake. The setting by the park is pleasant - must have driven past this many times and not known it was there. Had to use pay and display car park which isn’t ideal but they do offer a rebate for over £30 bills. Our food was good, it was very busy but the owner still took a minute to chat to us. Interior not very inspiring but everyone’s food looked great and we would go back for a proper meal next time.

oh dear what a shame. Apple and celeriac soup that was overwhelmed by apple and only hinted at celeriac; Tip - if you serve thin sliced [dry] brown bread make sure the butter is room temperature? Prawn cocktail that was mainly finely chopped lettuce smothered in an overpowering tomato sauce and 1 rather sad on shell prawn, the rest of the prawns [ probably about a tablespoon] were small, watery and had no taste; I suspect frozen? If you were expecting M&S style fat juicy ones or a retro 80's classic starter you would have been disappointed. At £8 didn't even come with a slice of bread. The roast looked adequate, but very obviously roast potatoes supplied by Aunt Bessie. The fish and chips were - again adequate. Neither offered good value. But the worst was yet to come. A "trifle" served in a large whisky glass that was a dribble of fruit puree, a coating of custard and the best part of a glass of runny double cream. I cannot fault the carrot cake but at £4.50 a medium slice it seemed expensive. Shame really as the setting in the Park is lovely.

I'm not sure if it's a cafe or restaurant! Order at the counter. Food was nice. Cumberland sausage cassoulet (Cumberland sausage needed to be cooked more) was nice, but was it worth the money? I don't think so. Bacon butty and naughty chips were good. Some confusing things, you must pay for parking, spend £30 and the parking taken of the bill, dog friendly, fine but we couldn't hold a conversation due to 3 dogs barking at one another. Puts us off returning.

We had a wonderful meal here on a Friday evening. The ambience is very calm and the food was simply delicious. One of us had a beetroot based dish while the other had sausage and mash, plus the most beautifully cooked heritage carrots. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Totally recommend...we will be going again.

We booked a table for lunch and turned up on time. Table was reserved for us and met by friendly staff member. The menu card on the table was disgusting, it could have been there since it opened. I reluctantly picked it up to read it. Considering the roots and seeds ethos I didn't see a great deal to get excited about however beetroot gnocchi looked good. The specials board offered only soup. It is not table service and my wife ordered at the bar she showed her caravan club card which allowed 10% discount, and paid. The food came the gnocchi was okay but only warm not hot the chips (frozen) were fine. My wife checked the bill and discovered she had not received 10% off. She queried this and was offered a piece of cake which she declined. The coffee and tea were fine. The restaurant itself was more like a school canteen. This impression helped by the numerous toddlers playing in the soft play area. To sum up tea and coffee fine, food choice average served luke warm. Probably a good place for parents with toddlers to have a break with a cup of tea and cake. But not for us. It is unlikely we would return.

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

The service was terrible…. a bunch of young girls who appeared to want to be elsewhere. We ordered tea and scones. We drank the tea and still no scones. When we asked about them we were rudely told “it’s coming” and she made no effort to check on them. They came 5 minutes later. We could see other people being treated as an inconvenience and being unhappy. Disappointing in a lovely village where everyone else is so friendly.
