I don’t typically write reviews, but felt inclined on this occasion.. unfortunately not the greatest experience a roast platter and 2 soft drinks came to £71 to which we initially thought we’d been accidentally overcharged but turns out they added an extra discretionary service charge which is cheeky given we have to order at the bar.. the drinks were then bought out in plastic straw cups and only of small portion given the price. Aside from that it has to be said meat is great, vegetables are OK and potatoes were really weren’t good at all. Over all not worth the expense given other local options being near half the price.

We came for the child play area and a coffee, sadly I was quite disappointed with the play area, it was filthy and all the toys were old mismatched dirty toys. The cafe itself was nice but it was the play area that we went for and I was very disappointed

We booked a table for Sunday lunch, leaving an online pre-order note on the reservation for 2 x vegetarian roasts. Firstly - I want to say we both agreed that the food itself was different & delicious. There was an assortment of well prepared & beautifully presented plated food, with ample side dishes. We loved the way the swede was cooked in particular, and the seaweed wrapped leeks were unusual but really tasty. We ordered an additional cauliflower cheese to share - but probably didn't really need it. There was plenty of food all in all. It was a shame that the meal was tainted with service and timing issues. We requested ample gravy on confirming our order, as inevitably we find that there is never enough wherever we go. The waitress informed us that the gravy had meat stock in. We requested a vegetarian gravy to accompany our meals for obvious reasons - whoever wants a roast dinner without gravy? When our meal was served, there was no gravy. We had to ask twice for it and were told they were making it. It should come out with the food. When it arrived 10 minutes later - it was served in a jug the size of an egg cup, and only half filled - for 2 of us to share. We ordered more & waited again for this to be served. It wasn't a traditional veg gravy, more of a thin soup, but was pleasant all the same and saved us eating a dry Yorkshire pudding. They also forgot the roast potatoes which we has to prompt them for. By the time the second order of gravy and roast potatoes came - we'd eaten half our meals. They still put a £5 service charge on the bill which was pretty cheeky considering. We still gave it a 9/10 as the food was worth it. We will go back - and hope that next time they'll have a ready made veg gravy served in sufficient quantity for 2 meals, and remember the roast potatoes!

I had the pork porchetta from the specials board . The leek sauce was good but the pork was inedible, tough and dry. When I mentioned I would not recommend this dish the response was ‘I will tell them’ so I paid £24 for leek sauce. Update: a couple of weeks later I had a Christmas lunch with a group of about 30; the food was very good and the service excellent, it not easy to serve that many people quickly and get all the food orders right but R&S managed it. Clearly a better day than my first visit.

Good food, service and atmosphere. The doggy ice cream is also a cute extra (I didn't eat them, and didn't have a doggo to try one for me, so can't comment on the taste!). This might just be me being spoilt by European and North American portion sizes, but I found the veggie breakfast portion size was a little bit small for the price. To be fair, it's not that different anywhere else you go in the South nowadays, so it wasn't a massive disappointment or surprise. Worth a visit!

Roots and Seeds was recommended on a couple of vlogs we had seen on YouTube as somewhere to eat whilst staying at the Cirencester Caravan and Motorhome site. We thought we would try it out for breakfast on our first morning and we were so impressed we went back the next day. Our dog was happy as well as they sell doggy ice cream (he didn’t care that is was November!) it is a lovely place also just to pop in for a hot drink and a piece of cake after a long walk through Cirencester Park.

Place is very child friendly, outside area and inside which was utilised. Would have rated 4-5 stars had it not been for the ego of the chef. Who firstly forgot to put the bacon in the breakfast sandwich, then when I asked for some I received a cold slice of ‘crispy’ ( more like cremated) piece of bacon that tasted gross and you could snap it in two. When asked for a fresh warm slice of bacon, the waitress returned from the kitchen saying the menu actually says crispy! I said forget it as I did not want an argument but REALLY!?!?!? you are that arrogant that you couldn’t correct the mistake of forgetting the bacon with once slice of freshly cooked crispy bacon…. When the breakfast burger was 13.50 (very overpriced for what I got!)

We were staying at the Caravan Park and decided to have a walk in the Estate, as my partner had difficulty walking (awaiting a knee operation) and was now using crutches we were both pleased that he made it on a very enjoyable walk so decided to call in the cafe on the way back. We picked a nice sturdy picnic table so my partner could sit and stand up without too much hassle. I went and ordered 2 drinks and was asked where we were sitting, I told the server who then gave me a numbered wooden spoon. Next a man from behind the counter told me we could not sit where we were, before I could reply the girl serving us told me it was card only, (had cash at the time). At this point I gave up and walked out. There were no ropes or even notices stating certain parts were out of bounds and nothing at the entrance to say “cash only”. Reading other reviews about the price I think we had a lucky escape. Also could someone tell the serving staff that we pay there wages and a flicker of a smile or a “Hello, welcome” would be nice not make customers feel as if we were spoiling their day.

Starting with the good. Service was great, friendly people made us feel welcomed. The place is kid friendly and was great for our kids. Sadly I can't say I enjoyed the food. The sunday roast meat was dry and bland, tried both the pork belly and the chicken. The roast potatoes were hard and overcooked to the extreme. The portions were small especially for the prices. Nothing tasted fresh not even the roasted veg. I was looking forward to a very nice sunday roast and the food really let the place down.

The only way I can describe this place is as an unsupervised nursery. It is full of self entitled, lazy mums who let their kids scream non stop without interfering. I even saw two mums change their kids dirty nappies on the table ….. how vile!!!! Restaurants are for adults not your kids - leave them at home!! Also a warning - they have a children’s crèche in the restaurant so if you love hearing screaming for hours and kids running around you whilst there parents sit and do nothing then this is the place for you! I would rather stick needles in my eyes before I ever return to that horrid place.

We visited this restaurant last October and were reasonably impressed with the food although it was quite expensive for what it was but was infact receiving a 10% discount for visiting from the Caravan and Motorhome site. Our disappointment came when we checked the bill to find that they had infact put small increases on a few items to infact cover that discount. We queried thisvand they did rectify it. We returned last night as we were once again visiting from the caravan site where we were staying with friends. We weren't overly impressed with the small plates idea compared to their normal menu but ordered drinks and enjoyed the night together. However, to our absolute disgust small increases had been added to our drinks to the tune of £7. We queried this and was told he had made my cocktails as doubles(something he didn't ask me about beforehand) and I'm not sure how this affected the bottle of wine that he put an extra £2 on (a bottle that he recommended over the bottle my husband had chosen and offered it at the same price). He once again rectified the incorrect bill but left on the £22 gratuity fee even though the service hadn't been that great. It's such a shame because it's such a great facility so close to the caravan site but just be careful to check your receipts folks you're not getting the discount you think you are!

Great place for kids as it has its own little play area. Prefer it now you order at the bar as table service used to be pretty slow & painful. Bacon sandwich for £7 should have more than 2 slices of bacon. Great coffee. They should remind you to get reimbursed for parking, that whole process is a little frustrating. But overall a pleasant breakfast!

Fantastic food. The Christmas roast I had recently was really really good. With a couple of great cheffy twists. Sam is really personable and very helpful.

All well and good being a dog friendly restaurant but to see dogs sitting on owners laps and licking food off the table was a definite turn off.

Brilliant cafe, with very friendly and accommodating staff. Dog friendly after a walk around Cirencester Park is very welcomed. We had a sandwich and the dog had a sausage. We will be back another day.

For this wonderful setting, you pay to park in the pay & display car park for Cirencester Park (free from 6pm-8am). The cost is refunded if you spend over £30. Wonderful warm greeting on arrival. Very glad we'd booked on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Excellent service and the food was fabulous. I had eggs benedict on a gluten free roll, and it was delicious. I'm definitely tempted to book an evening meal, I can imagine it feels very special, but don’t wear heels, as it's a gravel path from the car park. We will definitely be back!

I went there with my husband and my furry baby girl. We went there just for a coffee but we decided to order a burger and chips and English breakfast. It was amazing! Nice atmosphere, nice service and lovely location! When we were walking back I saw the veggy garden and "courgette flower" ... 😍 I am Italian and we used to cook that as succulent dish. I couldn't resist to ask them to have a few. They came with me and gave some to me. I very appreciated that. I was so happy... I felt in love with that place. Passion and quality of food are guaranteed. I forgot an umbrella... Good reason to come back! See you soon guys! Sabrina and Gigi

We had a really great evening meal for a table of 10. Given a nice table location. Staff were super helpful. And all the food were fresh and tasty.
