Last visited Oct 2017 service and food was excellent as ever. However booked a table online for tonight at 6.30 when we arrived at the restaurant wasn't even open.

Well did not disappoint all 10 of us seated and sorted with starters all came out together and everyone enjoyed them. Next the main meals all hot very tasty even ordered I a steak for one of our party top class food and service. Come on folks give them a try we were sceptical but have not disappointed 2 nd visit now.

First visit for a long time. Tried the Sea bass. Delicious. Friendly service in pleasent surroundings. Will come again

We popped in for a curry on the spur of the moment after a long day and was pleasantly surprised. The staff are very welcoming and hospitable and the food was really good. Really great flavours and good portion sizes. Would definitely recommend visiting!

Well were sceptical booking a table as from past experience was not the best under previous management. But found this to be a great meal, the staff were very friendly and helpful showing us to our table and explaining the menus. We all had starters all six of us enjoyed them quality food well presented. And when the main Currys came out wow we all commented how nice they were, also very helpful in doing me a curry that was not on the menu. Top place please visit we will again very soon.

Wonderful food, and excellant sevice. Would recomend highly. Lovely restaurant, very spacious. Great mid week offfer for a three corse meal, makes eating out a mid week treat.

Absolutely love Roots as the food and service are always excellent as well as being great value for money! I have been visiting this area for many years due to family living nearby, and we always head into town for a good curry and we are never disappointed! Superb menu and very well presented dishes. We look forward to many more visits in the future even though we live 150miles south!

Excellent food and service at Roots formerly Balti Palace. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. Everybody who used to eat at Balti Palace you need to RE-VISIT newly refurbished and now known as Roots

Just walked out of this restaurant waited 1 1/2 hours for meal and still not ready. Everyone in restaurant waiting way to long for starters / mains. Will not be returning.

We ordered a takeaway and I was amazed by the taste! That was the best indian food I ever had. They delivered my take away on time and it was fresh! Definitely we will order again!

What can I say other then wow excellent food and service all our meals were to a high standard good quality meat fresh and very tasty we will defo be back easily as good as the lamp if not better thank you roots

Visited the restaurant this evening with my partner who has a nut allergy. This wasn't a problem for the staff there and the chef personally came out to discuss any dietary needs with my partner before cooking him a separate dish. Could not ask for more from the staff there! Amazingly good food and great service, what more could you ask for?? Definitely recommend this place 👍🏼🍛

Went late last night ( Wednesday) food was delicious and waiter couldn't do enough for us , nice surroundings and welcoming staff .... thank you to the manager and his staff for a quality meal

Popped in on off chance with my hubby, first time since the refurb. What can I say surroundings were bright and cheerful, staff extremely friendly and helpful and the food well ....... just perfect!!! See you again soon!

First time at Roots can I say lovely food mixed starter amazing, main meal superb. Free complimentary coffee. Excellent service by all. Recommended to anyone. Be back again soon.

2nd visit since it has re-opened, lovely staff, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, generous portions, great value and i think i mentioned delicious and thanks for the Birthday Drink

Visted roots resturant twice now with the family and both times was a 5* service. staff are freindly and polite, and the food was outstanding 👌see you again soon

Me, my mother and girlfriend went here for an Indian and we was not disappointed, the food was outstanding and the staff could not help enough! Cannot write a review good enough. It was beautiful! Highly recommended

We decided to give Roots a try after seeing it had opened again after refurbishment.

Visited this Indian restaurant today for my brother and fathers birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They organised a birthday cake and decorated around the tables for us. More importantly the food was fantastic, tasty and hot, the service was super and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend eating here.

Have always been happy with the service and good food at the old Balti palice . I don't now why they have changed the name but I am glad their back. I think the food is even better than before.

Visited tonight with my family and I must say it's the nicest curry we've had in a long time. Restaurant was very clean, staff we're lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them they made the evening very enjoyable. Food was excellent, very well presented, couldn't fault it. I understand it's newly opened and I wish you all every success for the future. We will be returning very soon :) thank you!

Roots has only just opened, it's a revamp of the old Balti Palace premises in the town square. As it is a new venture they are still finding their feet but overall our experience was very positive. I must admit that at first I thought it was a Caribbean restaurant given the name and colouring of the new signage.

Service chaotic some food OK some awful. The only upside was it was very cheap. No way we'll be going back
