Roo's in Chelmsford

Using the provided tongs to select a Danish pastry trying to get into the bag they supplied it dropped onto the floor. I chose another and took it to the cashier and ordered a coffee and explained the issue. I was told just to put it in the food bin. What I didn’t know until I saw the receipt, that I had been charged for it. In hindsight what I should have done e is left it on the floor. I suppose that’s what you get for being honest.

Took our grandsons for a treat here today, their choice. BIG MISTAKE 3 children, 3 adults Boys had burgers which they loved 2 adults had “peri peri chicken skewers” with salad, fries and a beetroot dip This processed chicken was awful. It was covered in peri peri sauce and basically just thrown on a plate. It did not come on skewers and it did not have any holes to show it had ever been on a skewer! There was no sign of a beetroot dip? The 3rd person had scampi, chips and peas Peas and chips were cold Now we had waited 50 minutes and asked where our food was to be told”we have a party of 15 upstairs and their order was placed just before you. That’s fair enough, understand that After an hour our food was bought to the table Whilst we was sitting at the table they came and moved the table next to us, leaving the broken glass from under the table exactly where it was Also the ladies toilets were just disgusting!!! 3 of the toilets were blocked with paper and s***e!!! It was pretty obvious they was more interested in the hen parties and those having brunch, but sorry at the end of the day we were paying good hard earned money too!! Basically don’t go in here for food, it’s just appalling. I’ve had much better food in the Wetherspoons

If you want to visit I suggest you find out when Rosie will not be there, she has trouble getting staff so that may be difficult. They don'y do food so ignore comments on food
