Had a couple of meals here as we were in the area for the '40s Sheringham weekend. Pub had made a really great effort with staff in '40s attire and also had singers belting out the hits of the '40s. Food was typical pub grub but generous portions and served by friendly staff. The best meal was actually their war-time meal (corned beef fritters etc).

Since moving to North Norfolk over 12 years ago I have visited the Roman Camp Inn on several occasions. On each of these visits I have been disappointed due to either the quality of the food being offered, the level of service and the general lack of an inviting atmosphere. When compared to other Pubs/Restaurants in the North Norfolk area that have dramatically changed their image and food quality standards, The Roman Camp Inn is sadly lacking

When we arrived we were aware they had some problems with their ovens - this was not reflected in the food or the service. Our party of 8 was served promptly by friendly staff. The carvery was delicious and the Yorkshire puddings were unforgetable. A fabulous meal out.

Not an extensive menu but all tastes catered for. Can recommend the Steak & Kidney Suet Pudding. Delicious.

We had a short break here. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. From the outside it looks like regular pub but the rooms are great and very comfortable. The food was freshly cooked and the choice of breakfast was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and that was delicious. There is an outside terrace, overlooking a walled garden. The hotel is family run and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Would recommend both for a short stay or just a meal out if you live locally.

I ordered the vegetarian moussaka (big mistake) it was dried up and the aubergines undercooked. My husband had gammon and said it was nice. I didn't feel that we should pay for my meal, due to the quality, but cleverley they take the money in advance. We had eaten in here before and the meal was ok, though would have preferred hand cut chips rather than frozen.

Stayed for one night, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean , light and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of freshly cooked food, cereals, pastries and fruit. Will definitely return and would certainly recommend staying here

Called in for light lunch. Ordered the soup on the menu - leak and potato. Don't think that is what we got. Tt was green and possibly pea, but it was so thin it had no taste. Very disappointing

If you want to eat awful and not healthy than best you camp in. Food is cold, staff are rude and faces like they don't wanna be there. Short woman was very rude and you could hear them shouting out the back. Some man who appeared to be friends with them messing around outside. This isn't what i like to see when eating out. HUGE let down girls. They need to be more polite and have a better manner and not shout so much!!!
