Ronnie Roos bar in Leicester

Great place for a small event but very sad it's closing down.

Loved the quirky courtyard layout, which is enclosed and protected from the elements. I don't know how this hidden gem of a venue went unused for so long. I have only visited on quiet nights during the week, but found the place a pleasant destination for a quiet catch up with friends. It's conveniently located on the outskirts of the city and close to several other decent pubs and bars all of a similar vibe.

All the toilet seats are hanging off, no toilet roll holders so there's just rolls all over the floor. Can smell the toilets from the doors to the bar. The smaller bar ran out of everything, the woman serving was literally sending a WhatsApp message while we were trying to order. We got given a pint in a plastic and when we poured it into a glass we already had because we didn't want to drink out of plastics it was literally 2/3 of a pint. The plastic didn't say pint anywhere on it either so looks like an absolute scam I'd avoid tbh

Reasonably priced for centre of town

Had a really good experience here, we had a group booking of 15 and the owner and staff accommodated us brilliantly. A big thank you from all of us ! The dance floor was awesome 👍

We only popped in early afternoon for a quick drink and to have a look around. This was our visit and the young man behind the bar was most welcoming and told us what goes on each evening. We will definitely be returning for a few drinks and a tapas !!!

A great indoor/outdoor space! Great for live music, particularly Thursday for the DnA Socials Open Mic nights and Honey Guides Open Jam! Great location, nice selection of beverages and the staff are lovely! Highly recommended!

NEVER going here again, went last night with a big group the bouncer was an absolute idiot was rude and was raising his voice.. Was told to pay £5 cash on door hmmmm straight in there pocket 🤔 Defo not recommend this place

I'd never been here before, but it was fabulous - a Stone Roses tribute was great and the music in-between and after made me feel like I was back in time in the night clubs . Every tune was a banger. Drinks were the normal price you would pay, not overly expensive -will definitely be visiting again!

Literally the place to go for a trouble free night, and the place is Literally magical inside. Allways makes me feel like I'm in a nice bar in a hot country, highly recommend this pace

I love absolutely love the food from here in the afternoon, a nice simple menu to chose from not overcrowding as the place doesn’t have multiple of branches. Lovely staffs and great chef, made sure the food was on point for me to enjoy. I had came a few times in the evening, on the days where there is no events the music is okay-ish the playlist is kinda the same with song sweet Caroline. However, the events are great with really good music. There could be improvements for having an event opening for playing a variety of music and open to a slightly younger crowd with the right music not club trashy music but it can be lively with people dancing. For example, Spanish music.

Would just like to say a massive thanks to everyone at Ronnie Roos for being such an amazing venue when celebrating my 50th birthday there last week. Complete private hire was amazing and all staff and band were fantastic, can highly recommend using this venue for your events!!!!

Overcrowded the food wasn't too bad. Guinness was cold, BUT served in a plastic pint pot the entertainment was elvis he wasn't very good at all he reminds me of pub singer mumbling

Brilliant night at the Grease and dirty dancing night

We have been to Ronnie Roos twice now and both times we had a great night only on the last occasion it was a bit packed making it a bit hard to move or get a table. The staff are really friendly, the drinks prices are reasonable ( when you can get to the bar ) and there isn't much of a food menu but the atmosphere is fantastic. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome, we will be going back. 😃👍

The UB40 Tribute night tonight was horrendous, far too many tickets sold plus pay on the door. Could not get a drink without queuing for ages, could not get on the dance floor as it was rammed, couldn’t get in the toilets without queuing, even ladies having to use the mens, no tissue or facilities in the toilets, left before 10pm, as could not stand being rammed in so much, ruined the night being like sardines in there!

Ub40 night pure greed to many tickets sold to long to get a drink also when you have a fire alarm go off your music is meant to stop at the same time not when the fire service turn up good job I'm not dead

Great venue. You can't believe you are in Leicester. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great line up of events and bands, great choice of drinks. Ample seating for ticket only events but I can guarantee you'll be up and dancing anyway. Great DJ too.

What a brilliant nite me and my husband had first time we have ever been. Abba were brilliant all the staff are lovely and take time to speak to you definitely be going again thanks for great nite guys.

Great open mic night on Thursdays

Attended the open mic night and was pleased to enjoy some great performances in this delightful, discreet courtyard setting. The stage is outside of the building that houses the bar, but it is properly covered by a roof, with just one end of the courtyard open to the street, which makes for a unique atmosphere with acoustics that seemed to be appreciated by all. Friendly, welcoming staff and peaceful, pleasant clientele. Highly recommended!

Have not ordered anything. However 5 stars for welcoming atmosphere of the place. Security guard welcomly agreed for the photographs to be taken, some customers posed for camera resulting this lovely collection of photographs of the place and its happy vibes.. definitely would come back when occasion arises..

Charming, friendly, warming 10/10 lovely new place in the heart of leicester. Feels like being at home with a great selection of drinks. Has a very leicester feel to it. Comfortable withought pretention.

Absolutely loved this place. My family name I used it 4 my daughter's party.. actually it was her wake but my daughter liked to party so we called it a party. I had left the staff to set up with quite a lot ov things b4 we were to get there. They did an amazing job n did my daughter proud. ALL the staff were amazing. Helpful n friendly the place was clean to. It's a quirky kinda place now if u did no it was there u wud miss but please don't it's a great place. I'll be going back and so will alot over my family. . Please give this place a go.. u won't regret it.

Great day out at Ronnie Roos bar spent with family and friends. Friendly casual atmosphere with attentive staff. We ate there as well and the food was delicious. We look forward to visiting again in the near future.

I have seen this place so much on my Instagram lately that I tried with a couple of friends. We went on a Saturday night as a group of 4 for food around 7pm. This was was very noisy (didnt help that the euros was just finishing on the TVs) the tables were wobbly and we asked several times to stop tables and eventually we were given a new table. The food was a really high standard and delicious. Just keep in mind its has a cover but mainly open and if you don't mind it crowded and noisy and a little chilly this place is for you. I'm sad to give 3 stars but overall it wasn't what I was expecting.

I've been in the UK for sometime now and Ronnie Roos is the first restaurant where everything from the French Fries to the Staff were on point!!!! Our food was OMFG BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! The staff was fantastic, our main server Shayna (hope I spelt her name correctly) was friendly, polite, asked us questions, and actually spoke to us beyond taking our order. The Manager and her Daughter went above and beyond to help us out and were so friendly and helpful I can't put it into words. The Chef .... lord what can I say She is great at her craft!!!!!! I will be returning and I've told who would listen about Ronnie Roos..... just upset I didn't take pictures but I will next time!!!!

Ronnie Roos were absolutely brilliant with my small wedding reception. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The drinks were brilliant. And to top it off the venue is so beautiful! Anyone who wants to go for casual drinks (date night) or plan a wedding reception this is the place to do it. Thank you Ronnie Roos for giving us a magical night!

Food was ok, drinks were cold, and the service was prompt and friendly. Four stars because I’m stingy with my fives. Maybe skip the prawns.

A lot of effort has been made in the ambulance, however the acoustics don't help. We were asked to pay for our drinks twice, as the staff couldn't work out who had paid for what, despite the tables being numbered. We did receive an apology once this matter had been resolved. COVID guidelines were not being observed too, by large parties. No one bothered to see if we had checked in, and there was plenty of cross mixing of groups. I am sure it will get better when the staff receive some front of house training.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, staff were on the ball and very pleasant, prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we had. There were 5 of us eating and drinking and we all said we would go again when the new menu comes out. Nice to actually eat out again too after so long and we were pleased we chose Ronnie Roos for our first night out 👏👏

Went with family last Saturday evening, we had a great time. Atmosphere great. Food also tasted nice. And peer towers were a great touch. Staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back.

I booked a table 3 weeks ago... arrived tonight to be told that there was no booking. Woman was aggressive at the door and denied taking my call she was very rude and put her hand up to my face. After being left out in the cold and the rain we ended up.in the Rutland and Derby who were way more accommodating and nice! I am only giving Ronnie Roos one star as I am not allowed to give a big fat 0. Horrible place. Don't waste your time.

Lovely setting. Staff were a bit useless, it wasn't busy but the service was so slow. Food was poor quality and overpriced- really disappointing. Fine for a drink if you are prepared to wait!

Really nice setting, went with my partner for some tapas and drinks. We we're looked after from start to finish. Drinks came quick and so did food, which was lovely. Nice friendly staff who came to check on us every so often which was nice. Would recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon. Thank you Ronnie Roos

The worst customer service I have ever encountered

Went here for my birthday and had a great time, could see they were very busy so I had a brain wave and thought order two drinks at a time. I wasn't trying to get drunk I promise. The person who wrote the comment about being moved 1 you are outside what do you expect 2 you stayed longer than your time and they accommodated you! So I don't understand your complaint, give your head a wobble babe! The place was rammed so I can only see why drinks took a while to come out. Here's some advice if you don't like your wait at this current time in the current climate we are I stay at home. Other than that had a great night staff are amazing and so all they can to help. 10 out of 10 would recommend 👌

had table booked on saturday, got there an said we had till 6pm, ordered drinks which took half hour, the lady then over charged me for my drinks? we asked if we could stay longer and they moved us to a table with no shelter and was raining!!😡 so the younger staff don’t know how to add simple maths and the other staff are very very rude and arrogant will not be returning to this place again very appalling experience. worst place i’ve have ever been to. would not recommend.

Nice place, good drinks, and a few good servers. Food was bad, clearly microwaved, mushy, flavourless, and the menu seemed confused and constructed in a way to save money not have good food. Service in general was very bad as well, unorganised and felt uncomfortable to be there, great potential and will hopefully sort itself out in the future.

Nice new place, Loved the cocktails!! Food and drinks came quick too, staff were great but maybe needed extra staff members to help them to keep the pace relaxed, Will come back soon! :)

Booked a table for 4, it was made clear that we intended to eat and have drinks when booking. On arrival we were left to wait for 15 minutes with food and drinks menu to then eventually have the waitress come over and say that had stopped serving food. The waitress said they often close early depending on stock levels. WHY WAS THIS NOT MENTIONED WHEN BOOKING A TABLE FOR 8PM. Even if there was a possibility we could not have eaten this should have been communicated. Very disappointed because we had been looking forward to our first meal out in over a year. Will not be returning and I urge others to save their money and wait for the 17th May to attend a different establishment.

The staff definitely need more training, food was average, the speakers were really crackling. Wouldn't recommend.

Spent Saturday evening at this bar and had a great time. Staff were friendly and the food was really good. There was at times a small delay between ordering our drinks and getting them but people need to understand that as soon as people leave the bar staff have to sanitise that area, which takes time. For us the delay was fine , considering the bar has only been open a few weeks and with all the restrictions they are under they are all doing a great job.

2 minutes before taking us to our table, we were told the oven was not working. So I cant vouch for the food.. Lovely little place in what I believe used to be a carpark. The entrance without doors into a garden/hall covered with glass is a perfect spot to stay for a drink, as I had decided to stay - I may as well review what that was like After being seated for close to 20 minutes we were offered a menu. The order took around 15 minutes, in which time 3 rather befuddled employees offered us drinks again as if they were all not talking.. The staff were mostly terrible, kicking off a family-fueding sorta feeling. If your lucky enough you'll get 'nice nan' instead of 'nasty nan' The copies of the receipts we were given were different prices, despite being the same order 3 times! The receipts we were given did not divide into the price of each drink or even name the drinks we ordered! After the first order I noticed the maths didnt add up, took a quick glance at their copy and there was indeed a service charge inclusive and unmentioned. One more round then, you know, to be sure. After all this is our anniversary dinner - and getting a Friday night reservation right now is like milking pebbles. Again the same drinks were a new amount, it was still too much! The final round was an attempt to humour them, or us? Too hard to say BUT after a year of sitting in we enjoyed being around people. We needed this. The tacky-grandeur falling apart, the painfully apparent confusion running through the staf put me in mind of two films. Fear and Loathing meets the Titanic. I heard my girlfriend exclaim 'Jack! Jack! We've got to hold on, but, we cant stop here. This is bat country!'

Had a table booked here last Friday, 6pm booking. Took 45minutes for my first drink to be served, I asked for a food menu at the same time as ordering and the waitress said she would bring one over with the drinks. Drinks arrive 45minutes later with no food menu or no acknowledgement of me asking for a food menu. We waited another 20minutes finished our drinks and left. Absolutely shocking service for a new establishment here in Leicester
