Romano's in Fife

In the past I have been critical of the quality of food produced by this shop. It lacked care and love if I can put it that way. However in the last weeks I have fairly consistently ordered from them. I must say it was only “chicken supper” but the quality was first class. I have yet to try other dishes but if the chicken is representational then good for them. They are on the right road and good luck to them.

Yeuchhh! No fish -a few greasy items draining in heated display - grumpy staff members - chips that had been reheated several times- disgusting and £20 for the privilege -won’t be back!

this place is the worst chip shop ive ever been in! homophobia and racism towards staff and customers!, im appalled and extremely disgusted, seems too be the same woman whom i belive is the mother that has THE WORST customer service and likes too hate crime! SHOULD BE REPORED

Popped in for two bags of chips one Saturday afternoon they were not busy so didn’t have to wait long, Wish I hadn’t bothered because the chips were only 1/2 cooked. Won’t be going back such a shame no decent chippie in Burntisland.

my boyfriend went into the shop last night and ordered a donner kebab, chips, and two single battered sausages. was surprised that he never had to wait long as the food was already made, just had to wait for the donner meat to b heated up in microwave! ate it at about 8pm, 2:45am came and my boyfriend has been throwing up every hour of the clock!! will not be going there again, very disappointed.

Used to love the food and the customer service when the dad was there years ago. Have witnessed the place going down hill and have gave it a few more chances. After our most recent visit we will not be back. Half cooked, not fresh, greasy food and the attitude of the “boss” Gino stinks more than his food.

Have had a few deliveries from here, it can be absolutely fine or absolutely dreadful. Latest was awful so just not going to use again. They don’t read orders properly, don’t season food as requested - who wants a bland chippy when you’ve specifically requested everything on it. Kebab came drowned in chilli sauce when no sauce was ordered. Hoggy (hoagy) wrap awful, completely tasteless. Really ruins the whole thing. Also the doner meat is the worst quality I’ve ever tasted, it was nearly raw and had zero taste, my son had to cook it before eating it. Staff were rude when I called to complain. Very poor. Interesting that no management were present when such a dreadful delivery was made.

Had to wait 1hrs 55 mins only to get the most awful pizza ive ever had thick stodgy any no filling, fish n chips were bland asked for salt n vinegar nothing never again waste of money 🤮

Had a fish supper which was mostly batter and dried out fish I would not order from here again Chips were also not warm and had to bin the fish supper unfortunately

Never will I use Romano’s again🤢 last time we ordered from there it arrived burnt to a crisp, phoned up complained they sent a new one which was edible, not great but edible. We put it down to it being a bad night.. Tonight we order a take away for us all, it came looked alright but was absolutely rank🤢 nobody finished it. Never again!!

I have had several takeaways from Romanos this year and each one has arrived in a timely manner with piping hot food. Can't fault the delivery or food and the curry chips are always a winner!

Waited nearly 2 hrs called and they had lost our order also only received one pizza instead of 2 as it should buy one get one free so I paid 13.50 for a very small 10 inch pizza won’t be ordering again

DO NO RECOMMEND. Sick waiting two hours for a burned calzone and the smallest Hogie wrap I have ever seen the wrap was literally chips and one slice of donner meat calzone that cost £8 and Hogie wrap that costs £5 they’re trying to tell me I have paid a fiver for delivery when it’s a five minute drive to Kinghorn would not complain about the price If the food was eatable.

really good - the difference having Italians making pizza is noticeable. They could do with a little less cheese.

Highly recommended as a fish and chip shop and the pizza is delicious too. Clean and bright and the staff are very friendly

Lovely fish and chips, delivered earlier than expected due to other orders being delivered in area.

First time I've had an order arrive and everything was cold. Shame. Putting it down to a really busy night being Christmas Eve and so will use again. Another cold delivery however and will have to look elsewhere.

Ordered 1850 for 2000 delivery. Arrived 2030! Food is good but not THAT good! Very disappointed.

Waited 2 hours for delivery of 2 7” pizzas and a portion of fritters.... was meant to be here by 6.25, then it changed to 6.45, but didn’t arrive until 7.25

I was very pleased with my visit to Romano's today. I ordered a margarita pizza (Take away) and it was superb! Was not a very long wait at all, quite fast and service was nice and friendly, keen to take orders. Prices were decent enough and when I tried the pizza, it was quality. The pizza was nice and crispy and the cheese on top was fantastic. Would visit again in the future and recommend this to friends!

Visiting here in Burntisland one of the days i figure to myself i want a takeaway. Looking at the possible options i see "Romano's" So i go down and look at menu and prices. Lots of food on the menu from your classic fish suppers to pizzas to onion rings. Prices fair not the best though When i went inside the staff were nice and greeting and were quick too take our order. Food was served pretty quickly unlike some other takeaways and I was on my way. When i ate the pizza it was very nice, nice and crisp with good cheese content and they were not stingy on toppings. Very satisfied would recommend to anyone needing a takeaway

This place has seriously went down hill, the quality and portion sizes have dramatically dropped.

A trip to Burntisland is always better when I get something to eat from this place. Good portion and well above the average greasy chip shop. Usually busy which says a lot. Staff are always friendly and fast. Only downside is there is no inside seating. Shame it doesn't do that or I would be along more, especially on a wet and windy winter day.

I kid you not, this was the worst fish supper I have ever had .... fish was not fresh, batter was stodgy and chips looked like they were cooked in oil that was not hot enough ..... I should have known, because the lady who served me had a tee shirt on that looked like it hadn't been washed in a week. No one behind the counter had hairnets on .... I will never be back.

I would normally ask someone to go to the chip shop for me, but when we went in the other night i was hugely surprisedI normally use a local chip shop to me, but was delighted when i went into Romano'sNever have i tasted such a fresh fish, and the batter was nice clean and fresh. There is a lot of chip shops that when you look at the batter it looks like the fat/cooking oil hadnt been changedI would highly reccommend this chip shop and will continue to use itGreat service well done

Fish was dry. Chip steak over cooked. Chips Luke warm. Very disappointed Gino. I am a qualified chef and don't over expect any home delivery but tonight was awful. Maybe Gino is away. Really disappointed

bring back serge never been the same since he died got rest his sole he was a great guy and its never been the same, he was the king there everything spot on great food he had the gift pity they never carried on the tradition

First time here, fast, efficient, good value for money. Only complaint, I like my chips well done but what I had was hot and flavourful

We made the effort to drive here as we had been before and had quite a nice fish supper. Well this time it was disgusting. The batter was wet and soggy and the chips tasted vile. My husband said his lakota was just ok but agreed with me about the chips. Needless to say we wont be back.

My wife and I had a carry out from here last week. I had the big fish supper and my wife had a single fish. The fish was beautifully cooked and my chips were lovely. Overall this was excellent value for money.

We had a fish supper here on a day out, it was very good. They also had a great selection of other things to chose from. There was something to please everyone.

We had the take-out fish and chips. It was the usual fish and chips dinner. The portions were a good size and it was cooked well. Nothing special, middle of the road, quick easy take-out.

We stopped off here late in a Friday after diving at the local pool. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they did more than just fish and chips, but we ordered one fish supper and one pizza. They cooked both fresh while we were there so the food was piping hot and very tasty. Would definitely recommend them!

I've been using Romano's regularly for two years now.. Fresh, clean, fast and efficient service, would recommend the omelette.

Got told the delivery will come at 20past8and never came till 10to 9 phoned the store got to it was in the car no apology food was warm asked for brown sauce there was not much and the delivery driver didn’t say sorry for the lateness just wanted his money and away again won’t be going there again didn’t get a apology

Never read the additional information comments . Why are you also mixing your salad up. Carrot and cabbage isn’t liked by everyone !

Recommended by the locals. Very quick service despite being full of customers with all the food ready to go. I had fish supper and was given 2 fish!

Fish and chips are normally to a very good standard but this quality of food was very poor the fish was over cooked and lost in lots of hard batter. Chips terrible not fresh. Packaging changed and now reads Brendas fish and chips! says it all has Romanoes the previous owner retired now? If so should they be operating under the name Romanoes known for good quality good! To be fair they offered a fresh fish and chips on their tab for another, let's hope they get it right the next time.

Food was 15 minutes late on top of adding 5 mins extra to the delivery time. Food was also cold upon arrival

Intenté Romano un cambio, ya que estaba muy ocupado, pero mi pedido fue tomado rápidamente por un miembro del personal de trabajo duro amable. y fue 't largo hasta mi pedido llegó en el mostrador. El personal es muy amable y eficiente, mi esposa tenía una pizza mitad fritos gruesas y sabrosas salchichas tuve una cena [3] y muy agradable. Un problema ya que se encuentra en la principal calle de aparcamiento puede ser un problema, pero tuvimos suerte tuve un espacio justo enfrente de entonces con nuestra cena fuimos a el aparcamiento en la playa sólo unos momentos y disfrutamos aún caliente, recomendó una buena llevar

2 hours waiting and a phone call for 2 pizzas and I finally got the order, the pizza was cold, after I asked to be hot. Their excuse the place is under staff. I rather starve than order there again.

Been lots of times to Romano's whilst in the area, this is probably the best in the area, everything we both have tasted is very hot and very fresh, if it's chipshop food your wanting, try here you will not be disappointed.

Order a pizza for collection... got home and Pizza's are burnt!

Spot on as always........chip portions sometimes a hit or a miss but everything is top drawer. Wraps highly recommended as is the pizzas 👍👍👍

Lesser portions, over cooked , chips transparent with oil , not to mention the prices have increased to the point it's getting greedy . Key feedback : Less food ( half the box base was visible , and it's not the first time ) Increased price ( £5 for a supper when the portions are pathetic and the foods over cooked ? This place has gone down hill , i used to spend £40-50 a week here . I think I'll start ordering elsewhere from now on.

Title of the review says it all. Thought I'd give it another chance but no improvement since my last visit approx a year ago.

Pizza was cold and burnt at the edge, burger was cold...delivery ws meant to be at 7:25pm, turned up at 8:00pm. I called at 7:40pm and was told it was on its way and they just hung up on me, no apologies or even a goodbye, I will not be using them again 😔

I felt the order was rather rushed this time as the food was very greasy and not up to their usual standard. They had run our of the drink we had ordered and sent a substitute without checking with us (which we did not want) but all credit to them when I rang to tell them they went to the local shop and purchased some and delivered it.

Said an hour when i ordered, time increased by 10 minutes. Got a text to say my order was en route....25 minutes later I get it. Pizza would of been nice... If it wasnt cold. Smoke sausage stuck to the paper so i could only eat half of it as the rest would not detach from the paper. And the chicken pakora did not taste good at all. Waited an hour and 40 minites after ordering for food that i could hardly even eat! And £4 delivery??? Absolute joke! Won't be ordering again

See through chips tasted more like oil than anything , over cooked , sausage saturated in oil makes it soggy , for what this place charged you sure don't get the same quality you get elsewhere

Ordered a mushroom pizza with two extra toppings... it came without mushrooms! All food lukewarm at best upon arrival, though arrived only 5 mins after stated time.

Never Again - overpriced, poor quality,and arrived late. Box of salad £4.50 contained a large dollop of coleslaw in the middle, cheese, pineapple, sweetcorn, green pepper and olives? Salad? Where's the lettuce cabbage tomatoes and cucumber? Ridiculous!

Order accepted at 17.45 it came up deliverd on this app at 18.30 didn't arived till 19.26 Pizza cold .such a shame cause always taisty excellent food from hear . Just must be one of those days .

I order online at least once a week for take away.. very good service and value for money.. would recommend the omelette, menu suitable for all..
