Romano Caffe Pizzeria in Southampton

Great food and staff, extremely switched on. When my drink was empty, it was full again in seconds. Good prices for food. Staff make you feel like family rather than a customer. Would definitely go again. Three of us had a great experience.

I was yesterday having dinner and I was really surprised for good. Service was really good and the food was amazing. Really big portions and good quality food. The chef had also a couple of words with us, he was very kind. Really good value/money. Will come back again and will recommend to anyone.

Visited after the football for a coffee and tea. Tea is awesome!! Would definitely go back when passing by. Worth a visit!!!

The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. My food came out quickly and was delicious. I ordered bruschetta as a starter. It was so fresh and delicious. My meal was the four cheese pizza. The cheeses were so tasty. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed (it feels like you're in Italy). Romano Caffe Pizzeria is excellent.

I really hate writing bad reviews but its a bit hard not to given my experience. Walked in to a near full restaurant and got our orders taken but it took 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Appetiser came after another 15 minutes and then it took another hour for our food to arrive: total wait time was an hour and a half. The portions are generous with a lot of cheese on top but the food frankly tastes bland and store bought - I swear I've had all those exact same pastas or sauces from sainsburys. Staff were nice to offer us some free drinks but frankly the food and the wait time was too disappointing to warrant a good review. 2.5/5

This family run restaurant is a real hidden gem in Southampton. The chef and staff are amazing and extremely friendly, which means that the service is definitely world class. The food (pizza) is absolutely delicious and I’m sure it was the best pizza I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant from whatever occasion.

Friendly service and not rushed or overly intrusive. Good location if visiting Solent Sky Museum, Picturehouse's Harbour Lights cinema etc, especially if you like pizza and/or pasta.

We had a lovely time at Romano’s Caffe Pizzeria. It’s located just outside the beautiful Ocean Village Marina, with it’s serene waterside, and abundance of hotels and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It’s such a quaint little place, full of character. Boasting lots of Mediterranean Culture. We had a delicious freshly-cooked pizza, followed by lovely desserts of Tiramisu and Banoffee Pie. Thank you to Stella and Alex for a fabulous meal and lovely banter. It felt like being amongst family, and we shall certainly be visiting again soon. 🌺😋💐

Disappointing experience given other reviews. Pizza was not tasty. Base hard, dough undercooked and top burnt - figure. My Italian friends would be screaming... wouldn't return. We both feel stodged out and a bit robbed

Delicious margarita pizza, lasagne and cheesy garlic bread with great service and at very reasonable prices. Quiet, but it was a Monday evening.

We were surprised in this establishment, by the kindness of Stella, very welcoming, who took care of ordering us a taxi, because English is not our strong point, and agreed to keep our luggage in storage. Love going places where the servers recognise you from when you used to visit over a year ago! And your favourite custom order pizza has now made its way onto the menu, as it proved so popular with other diners. Not many places in Southampton where you can park right outside...

Dropped in by chance when in a hurry as it was near my car, pizza was sorted in less than 10 minutes. Staff were super friendly, pizza was lovely and fresh, not greasy at all. Was a bit quiet at half 6 but can probably chalk that up to being a Monday evening, would be really nice if a few more people.

Absolutely blown away by this accidental find in Southampton. I'm vegan but my friend isn't and we were both accommodated for. The staff were friendly and informative and advised on what there was on offer for me and how it could be adapted to make vegan. Lovely place, we will be back.

The best pizza I had in town and the best atmosphere, services and stuff. I felt like home since the first minute I was there.

What a great find. Couldn't fault the excellent thoughtful service. The very lovely Stella was super helpful in helping with gluten free options for me and my children (delicious gluten free pizza and pasta options). She even took the children off my hands for ten minutes so I could drink my coffee in peace. A revelation. We'll definitely be returning. Thanks!

Accidentally stumbled on this little gem and found the little independent Italian restaurant we were looking for. Stellar service by the waitress who really engaged with hangry toddlers. Went out of their way to accommodate various dietary requirements, generously offered sensible substitutions and every dish was hearty and fantastic. Will definitely be back soon! We had the best time ever, thank you! 😊

Cute little family owned pizza place! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they truly make you feel at home. This was the second time coming. The pizzas are amazing, the perfect base and plenty choices for toppings. This time I had the lasagne and it hit the spot! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in ocean village!

Such a great little gem of an authentic Italian cafe/ restaurant amongst other bigger name brands in the ocean Village area. Freshly made authentic pizzas and pasta are the perfect comfort food along with their nice selection of wines, cocktails etc. Always very friendly service too

Really good, there were 8 of us walked in, food was freshly prepared, quick to the table and very tasty. Reasonable prices and good service. Happy to recommend this friendly, family run business.

This might be the best pizza in Southampton, great for a nice dinner experience, but they also do takeaway. Just fully refurbished and the menu has expanded, more antipasto and pastas now too. Very nice wine at good prices. Also, the coffee is great. Great to have this place in the neighbourhood. Owner/manager is absolutely lovely too.

Their food is absolutely delicious! The owner is such a sweetheart! I love going here after an exhausting day at work with my friends. They have great food, great ambience, a lovely staff and a great choice for dessert. Definitely recommend!

Did not deliver in taste unfortunately. Bad pastriesq, latte and cappuccino tasted the same. Milky and no coffee. BUT..all can be forgotten because of the friendly staff :) I will give them another chance.

Absolutely love this place .Staff are super friendly and attentive. The coffee is amazing and so smooth (I only drink it black and this is the best coffee in the uk). The canolli are delicious and today I had a gluten free salted caramel - it was to die for..cannot wait to return again..xx💖
