Visited today to try and get some bits for pasta making (I’m an A-Level Italian student so trying to indulge myself in the culture!) and the staff were so down to earth and real! Will be back to try the food in a few weeks!

This place was fun. It was full of people enjoying the great food and excellent service and relaxing with their friends. Had coffee with an enormous toastie and a lovely time.

We ordered a cheese toastie and a tuna melt. Both came in a budget barm cake, barely toasted. They were both tasteless and rather unpalatable, and unlie any toastie that I’ve ever seen before, and not in a good way! The service was quick and friendly, but the food was dismal. Very disappointing.

Excellent service and great food. Called in for a quick coffee but after watching nice plates of food pass me by I decided to try some. Definitely recommend. I will be back.

This was only my second visit but it won’t be my last. Four of us went for lunch. It’s busy so waiting for a table is normal. The staff do their best to keep the rotation moving. The food is excellent I particularly loved their lasagne. I loved the vibrant atmosphere. When you’re finished have a look at the delights in their delicatessen.

The food was tasty. Coffee cold and The Female Manager was Very poor ideed. 1. She sneezed ove the food and did NOT cover her mouth and when I went to Pay she was very Agressive with me after a question I asked about on the bill as shr could not understand what the Male waiter had written down....I would never go into that place again as thats twice she has bern Rude to me!!! I questioned once as I asked her were the pizzas made on the premices? Again she was aggressive....This restaurant is very poor with Customer Service and will NOT attend again!!!!!

We had a wonderful genuine Italian buffet delivered to home for guests returning from a funeral. Very generous amounts of fresh bread, cold meats, cheeses, olives, salads, cakes - all delicious – there was so much we had plenty for the following day. It was perfect for the occasion. Top quality and service - lovely to deal with - thank you so much.

This is the best food in Whitefield. We are being swamped more and more by trendy gastro bars. But the shining star here is Roma; good, well made homemade Italian food. Nothing fancy, everything delicious.

The best chicken soup (broth) I've ever had in my life. Felt energised and healthier with each mouthful!

For my birthday in 2021, friends bought me vouchers for Roma. Although I spent most of them immediately on a lovely platter for two, I put what remained away for safe keeping. Typically I discovered them last week!! Although the vouchers had expired I was kindly allowed to still use them - which I know isn't always a given for gift cards. I treated myself to a few things from their deli, including florentines, which went down very well at home and I would definitely recommend. Thank you for being so accommodating to a forgetful customer.

This is my second visit this month after wanting to go for a long time but for one reason or not never managing it. The service has been fabulous on both occasions and the staff so friendly and welcoming. The menu is really nice with lots of choice. There is also a little shop where you can buy products to take home. I am looking forward to my next visit

Outstanding in every way, quality of produce, amazing service, Thank you. We have visited several times and hope to be back soon. Everything is fresh and to a very high standard. The deserts are tremendous.

I came on my own today initially wanting a full English but they don’t do a full English which is no problem I had a look at the menu and asked about the depari sausage with mustard. The waiter said it’s a good choice so I went with it. We’ll the guy was right it is a great choice. The staff were very nice and the food was bang on. Definitely get your self there for a twist on a sausage barn 😁

We had to queue for approx 15 minutes but well worth it. This is the most italian place I have been to in UK even the on wall tv has italian news. We had the beef stew it was fantastic and came with italian bread. This was our first visit but won t be the last.

Lovely home cooked Italian food, we visit here a lot as the food is great and it's a lovely atmosphere. Its good for mums with children to meet for their lunch or even just a good coffee. Staff are lovely and would definitely recommend leaving with some take out cakes or ice cream 👌 It's a shame they don't open in the evenings as it would be great for an evening meal. Also would be good if they did more of a breakfast menu.

Roma is our favourite place for lunch and we are busy eating our way down the specials menu. Never had a bad meal, but favourites are the chicken, soup, the meatballs and the lasagna. They also do fabulous salads, pizzas and sandwiches. Oh, and did I mention the cakes and ice creams….?

Had lunch there yesterday, mad busy but great service and great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly but the food was amazing. Good portions, great variety and a reasonable price. Give it a go!

After 4 visits in the last 6 months I have finally despaired at this deli/ cafe. The first visit I was brusquely told to wait for a table even though two were free, and no one else was waiting. Eventually I was led to one of these tables. The second occasion was when I was viewing the display and told there was a queue. I said I was checking the display yet still pointed to the queue. The third time I was left standing at the display when a party of 3 ladies were shown to their table ahead of me, despite not having booked. Finally, as their Trip Advisor page says, they close at 6pm. It was 3.31pm yet the same miserable staff member said, we close at 4pm. My wife said we only wanted a coffee each but I'd had enough of this short tempered intransigent woman and so we left. In the past I cannot fault the quality of snacks, food and coffee but if you are prepared to treat paying elderly customers like dirt and with disdain then you don't deserve our custom. I know 2 customers won't make one iota but the attitude of the staff leaves a lot to desire. No more visits from us. Customers beware

Gorgeous little Italian cafe every time I visit I am never disappointed. Probably visit 4 times a year when off work. The food is delicious, the coffees are lovely and the staff are attentive. Not overly expensive either x

Called in here for brunch with a relative from Italy, the place was fab. It was busy and had a great vibe. They are a deli, cafe and ice cream parlour all rolled in to one, typical of what you see in a Southern Italian town.The service was a bit slow but we didn't mind as we were catching up. The food although simple was excellent, the hot cheese and salami sandwich is absolutely superb. The cake my cousin had was a huge slice and also very good. The Espresso was a bit too bitter for me but that's just personal taste. The cappuccino was better.So if in the area do yourself a favour and get in here. Also, the Italian cheese and salami bought from the deli was so fresh and went down well that evening.

Normally expectations of reasonable Italian cuisine. Tried the garlic bread on this occasion, which surprised me. They used authentic teacakes as a base.

We often call in for lunch if we are passing and despite a short wait which we feel reflects the popularity of the place we are never disappointed!Food is tasty, hot and plentiful. Staff are so friendly and welcoming you are never expected to order everything as just having a coffee means are treated just the same. Great place to just sit and watch the staff whizzing about in enjoyable but what looks like organised chaos but isn’t.Don’t walk by, it is well worth popping in.

It was my first visit to this great restaurant and I will definitely be back! The staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious, I had the minestrone soup and my friend had a sandwich, both were awesome and substantial. Other food we saw being served to other tables looked equally appetising. The atmosphere is really laid back with a lovely buzz about the room. At the other side of the restaurant is the most amazing deli where you can buy fantastic delicacies to take home. Please visit this gem of a restaurant - you won't be disappointed

Me and my Husband have been coming for 12 years. We love the Staff, who feel like family. We always get the best service and the coffee is really good. Food-wise I love their pea & ham soup and our son adores the pizza.

Greeted by friendly warm staff on a busy lunch period. The food was excellent & fresh, the service was impeccable. Our servers were smiling, warm, friendly and kept an eye on us. I had fresh white tuna salad, a recommendation; which was full of flavour. The coffee & cakes were beautiful. A lovely setting & atmosphere, opera music in the background, lots of conversation & smiles, everyone enjoying themselves. A MUST VISIT!

Decided to drop in on the off chance and so glad we did. About 2pm on a Saturday and the place was busy, which is normally a good sign. We had mixed garlic breads to start, which was refreshingly light as the bread is fresh baked. Delicious.. Main courses we chose Italian Stew (very filling and tasty), Lasagna (a generous portion) and a very filling soup with fresh home made bread. We couldn't fit in a dessert so picked 3 up at the deli to take home for later. Super service, all table service were attentive, had a sense of humor and helpful. Particular mention to Sofia. Thank you, recommended, we'll most certainly be back.

We’ve been going to Roma for years. We love their salad, polpette and lasagna! Desserts are so delicious too. Everyone is always so friendly and accommodating. Amazing portions and good value for money!

A wee cafe next to deli lovely fresh salad and large portions super value and tasty pasta dishes. Next to Morrisons on busy road opposite metro. Well worth a visit if you are in area.

What a great 'little Italy' to visit! If you like Italian food, then you'll LOVE this place. The staff are friendly too.

Pizza was a margarita. Small but tastie. Excellent tomato source, but base didn't look authentic from a pizza oven. Drinks, large white wine and small Italian bottle of beer with pizza came to £12.50. Service was quick, waiter polite.

Love it here. Delicious food and lovely service. Antipasti is delicious to share with their homemade bread. We have tried pizzas, salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes and all I’ve been lovely. Always too full for cake though!

Took my 2 sons here for a quick lunch out. They both love Italian food so I knew this would be a safe bet. We arrived right in the middle of lunchtime and it was very busy, but we were seated within 10 minutes. Great menu to choose from, good selection of pizzas, pasta dishes, salads and sandwiches. We opted for a couple of 'special' toasties with my eldest going for a 'Mediterranean' toastie. Really simple but delicious, perfect for a light bite. We went for desserts (of course) and again there is really good selection of ice creams, milk shakes and cakes. They're licensed as well so you can enjoy a beer or wine with your meal. Lovely 2 course lunch for around a tenner each including drinks. There is also a lovely deli shop attached to the cafe which is worth looking at. Mental note to try the Canoli next time they're huge! Be prepared for the hustle and bustle! It's a lively and sociable place. Fab wait staff as well who work hard. Highly recommended, and is endorsed by my 2 teenaged lads!

While the veggie options need some updates and additions, the quality of the coffee can not be questioned! If you like a good coffee and are feeling a little delicate,the coffee will make you giddy and the staff will nurture you. The staff are the hidden gem of this long established family business and long may they continue. Did I mention the AMAZING coffee?

roma is a very traditional hearty italian cafe. the atmosphere is lovely as the local italians seem to gather there however, the pizza should be home made as it is italy's signature dish! but apart from that it is fab.

Not good sfogliatelle. I took a couple of these home only to find they were stale. we were told by staff that the sfogliatelle are not made in the shop but are made in Italy and delivered once per week.

My partner and I had an hour to kill so popped in for a drink. The service was amazing, although a busy lunchtime was just coming to an end we were seated and our order taken promptly . The staff were helpful friendly and professional. My partner is gluten intolerant and his requirem were understood and alternatives suggested. Good coffee and huge hot choc with marshmallow and cream and good value. Will be back

My friend and I enjoyed a great lunch at Roma Cafe this week . She has visited before ,but it was my 1st visit , certainly not my last. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table , in the window. Order was taken quickly for coffee whilst we looked at the menu. Great choice of snacks or more sustantial meals. Quick and efficient service, I had the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with a side salad -delicious ! ...... salad was lovely and fresh - the the bagel superb. Although we lingered to chat for 20 mins or so after we had finished - we were not hurried to pay and leave , although the cafe was busy !! Certainly will return .

A true Italian experience with its marble interior and decor sporting family pics on the wall, delicious food and friendly and super-efficient service. Great for families as you would expect from the Italian tradition.

Ordered a pasta e fagioli. The sauce was bland and under seasoned, while the pasta was hugely over cooked... think school dinner pasta. I tried the penne from another guest that was with us and this had the same problem... over cooked and soggy. It was steaming hot, like it had been microwaved, reallllly hot!!!

We regularly call in for coffee. We have eaten here too and it has always been great. Good choices on the menu and the deli section has just the most wonderful selection of delicious Italian ingredients and bakes.

Clean, service spot on, very tasty menu - I went for a Salami sandwich with salad, first class, would revisit again - attached to an instore small shop selling all types of Italian food and drinks.

Called into Roma again today and enjoyed the delicious classic tuna salad. The house wine is very palatable. Sadly the Limoncello desserts had all gone, so we had to make do with cappuccinos with Limoncello liqueur chasers. Oh dear - we did enjoy! Excellent food - perfect for a summer's day and served by very pleasant efficient staff. Wonderful!

My Wife and I call in to Roma when we are in Whitefield and often call in for a lunch. We enjoy the wonderful food but most of all it is a breath of fresh air watching the staff laugh and joke amongst themselves and the guests and gives the place a real down to earth and family atmosphere. Food is exceptional and homely. Don’t ever change please Roma!

We've been to Roma quite a few times as we love Italian food and it's so near our house. It has always been fresh and delicious. We went there about 2 weeks ago and it was just shocking. My boyfriend always has the same pasta, arrabiata I think, in a spicy tomato sauce, and he always has been able to add meat and extra chilli oil to it, this time the waitress said he can't add meat and never offered any chilli oil, and no one ever came to the table to check back so we couldnt even ask for it. I wanted to order a pizza, so I opted for Dolcelatte (I think that was the correct name). Now, Dolcelatte is blue cheese, so I was very excited for it, I asked the waitress TWICE if that's definitely blue cheese pizza, she assured me. When the food came out I was beyond confused, it was covered in pepperoni or salami slices. I told waitress I ordered the blue cheese pizza, she said that is it, I said is the cheese underneath she said yes. I asked her again if it has definitely got blue cheese on it, she said yes. I gave the meat from pizza to my boyfriend as he wasn't allowed to add any meat, when I removed the pepperoni slices, it was further covered in peppers and mushrooms. (none of those ingredients were mention in the menu) The taste was just horrible. I can tell it wasn't freshly made - the base cooked from frozen, mushrooms - DEFINITELY out of a tin, tasted horrendous, peppers also tasted like from a jar, and what a surprise, no sight or taste of blue cheese. I assume it was a cheap version of mozzarella cheese, as it just tasted like nothing. The whole pizza was tasteless, I have never not enjoyed food as much as I did then. Frozen, tinned, jarred, cheap ingredients? Not something a fresh Italian cafe would pride themselves on. I can buy a better tasting actual frozen pizza for 2 pounds, yet I had to spend 7-8 pounds for something so disappointing and tasteless and had to leave it cause it was that bad. Staff need to be trained on menu knowledge and be better at explaining the dish to the customer. Not sure if the place has got new management or chefs, but it has changed.

Great atmosphere and place, wether it’s for breakfast, lunch or evening meal. Homemade Italian food at its best, great size portions and flavour.

I took my daughter to Roma for lunch today, the food was excellent at a reasonable price. The staff are really friendly and the Deli is great.

Piping hot minestrone soup with gorgeous fresh bread and parmesan, delicious. Nice Kimbo coffee. Always friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Deli provides cheeses breads cakes and lots lots more

Roma has a genuine Italian feel with lovely, tasty lunch options at very reasonable prices. All staff are helpful & very friendly & happy to help. The deli is full of authentic Italian foods & has a good range of fresh bakery goods. Well worth a visit.

I have loved Roma since it was at the old premises. I remember going there with my dad to have a blue cloud ice cream when I was very small. Since moving to the new premises it seems to have improved even more which I didn’t think was possible.

I try to rate based on expectations, rather than comparing other with another. Roma is a cafe and deli, rather than a restaurant and is great. Very authentic feel - even in the newer building (its been at a similar location for years but was redeveloped when Morrison's arrived - and good personal service. Particularly good coffee and great hot sandwich on this visit

Called in here for lunch. They were very busy but soon got a table. Staff were very nice and food very good. Their bread and garlic bread was lovely and fresh,large minestrone soup was full of flavour and the lasagne delicious. Coffee was great too.

I visit Roma regularly for lunch and it never fails to impress. The food is simple but top quality, the welcome always friendly and the service fantastic - second to none.

Roma cafe and deli is like a little bit of Italy dropped into Whitefield. The food and goods for sale are just so authentic and delicious. The staff are lovely and they even have Italian TV on a screen in the corner! And like all Italians they have a special soft spot for the children. Bliss.

Love the traditional ice-cream and this cafe. Excellent customer service, would return in the future.

My Wife and I visited at lunchtime. It had been many years since I came here last, long before the regeneration of Whitefield and then it was excellent. Well many years have passed and I can say that nothing has changed, it still is just as is always was, friendly, welcoming, unrushed, basically truly Italian.

Staff so lovely and accommodating. Made room for baby's pram with minimum of fuss. Superb service. Food delicious. Home made bread amazing. Cakes to die for. Love this place and the family who run it. Xx

This was my first visit to Roma Cafe and was so pleased we dined here! We only called in for a coffee but decided to have a meal once we saw the food that was being served. We started with the antipasti and ordered 4 different pizzas between us. I have to admit the pizzas were probably the best I've tasted for a long time! The pizza base was cooked to perfection and the toppings full of flavour. We finished off with ice cream for dessert and again wasn't disappointed, full of richness and flavour.

Wanted to try this place, tried a margarita pizza, average, similar to a Morrison’s frozen pizza, little disappointed, looks, smells amazing, but sadly, I won’t return.i love Italy, and go each year, and I accept that it won’t be as good as a sorrento pizza,but no different than a supermarket pizza taste !

I love this place breakfast or lunch it’s casual cheap authentic the staff are friendly helpful the food is everything you would expect from Italy the portion sizes are generous the coffee is strong and the ice cream is award winning all the food is made fresh on site you can buy everything from the shop I recommend the wine which is outstanding value we used to call to the old building for ice cream and lunch and worried it wouldn’t survive the move it has and has gone from strength to strength this place is worth the visit and we will be continue to visit I would go every day if I could
