We’ve been recommended to go here for Sunday lunch by several friends. We gave it a try today and it was delicious. The roast potatoes and meat was fantastic, there was a great selection of accompanying vegetables and sides, the gravy was amazing & to make it all even better it was very reasonably priced. We called last minute and were still made to feel very welcome. I’d recommend for everyone to go and give it a taste.

Carvery was very mediocre. Stingy with the meat and the Roast potatoes had been cooked quite some time ago. But the young girls serving were doing a good job despite the boss being quite abrupt with them. Wouldn’t go back for food but it looks to be a nice pub for a drink 5/10 for food 10/10 for waitresses and bar staff

Absolutely awesome meal from start to finish, staff ran off their feet as first week from extended lockdown, but friendly manager and management who certainly seem to care about his customers and staff and service was good. All in all, highly recommended, hopefully they will keep the takeaway lunch after lockdown as this is the best service in this area postal code. Some of the locals are gobby, but hardly the fault of the team who manage them very well and also keep the atmosphere friendly enough for all to enjoy.

A newly refurbished pub decorated in a tasteful style. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was very clean and attractive with en-suite . Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room plus optional breakfast items. this was all at a very competitive price. I plan to re visit and would recommend it to others. Jenny Holmwood, Norwich

Visited the Rolle Quay in Barnstaple today for a mid week carvery lunch. Upon arrival was greeted by a lovely young lady who was very attentive and took our drink order etc. The carvery meal deal which is on offer on a Wednesday is a two course meal which is available from lunchtime until 7 pm. When ready we went up to the carvery to be greeted by Andy the chef who was very cheerful and very polite. As i vegetarian I always dread asking for vegetarian gravy but Andy the chef was more than helpful with my dietary requirements. The food was lovely and cooked to perfection. The deserts were delicious. Everyone felt very full and that it was good value for money.

We called into the Rolle Quay Inn by chance whitest looking for somewhere to eat. What a find. The staff were excellent. Selina and Mark could not have been more helpful. We asked what time food would be available and were told 6pm. As it was only just after 5pm we settled down to have a drink. Soon afterwards Selina informed us that Mark would produce dinner earlier. As it was Saturday and 2 steaks with a bottle of wine were on the menu for £20 we opted for Ribeye steaks and a bottle of red wine. Asking if we could swap some of the chips for salad we were told it was no problem even though Mark had to pop to the nearby shops to get some salad. If the level of service is always like this the Rolle Quay Inn is a place not to be missed if you need somewhere to eat

We run a theatre company and had booked our cast into this establishment for a 1 night stay. Unfortunately, they were stuck in traffic and were late arriving. Both myself, My office team & the cast themselves tried to call ahead of the mentioned 7PM check-in cut-off time however there was no answer. They continued on to see if there was other means on getting in (a key box etc) but nothing. We even tried contacting the Rolle Quay Inn via their Facebook page. The person who we spoke to via the Facebook page said they were in hospital and was trying to get hold of the manager. After reiterating they are a small establishment and that they can't afford to pay people past their 7PM, we had no other communication from them. We ended up paying for another lot of accommodation elsewhere in Barnstaple - To which this place was much more accommodating. My colleague will be in contact to organise a refund. Stayed here for 2 nights recently after driving for hours through torrential rain initially the greeting was civil we paid for the 2 nights on arrival we booked 3 rooms and my 2 boys were in room 2 when we came back from breakfast on the Saturday morning there was a note on the bed saying that we had to move rooms as he wanted my 2 boys to sleep in the double and my daughter to sleep in the twin also they were accused of leaving the lights on all night in the room which they were adamant they didn't they also couldn't open the door to the room from the inside as there is a handle covering the keyhole so they had to push the keys under the door for me to open therefore they had to leave their door unlocked all weekend and more to the point if they had a fire and the door was locked and they couldn't get out it doesn't bear thinking about I suggest there would be a better way of speaking to paying guests

Located at the western side of main high street on the quayside of the river Yeo. Nice friendly locals pub. Pleasant young lady showed us to our room which was excellent with little fridge and a mini bar. Decided to have a light breakfast of an instant pot of oats which was £1 each as breakfast was additional price on the £50. Room nice and clean. Ensuite looked new but bless the guy who put the shower in cos the hot was cold and cold was hot. Would stay again if ever walking the Coastal path again.

This was rather disappointing as it was the most expensive and worst stop on our trip. Firstly we had to pay fifty pounds instead of the supposed forty five pounds. We were told there was parking but it was a ten minute walk away and cost £1.70 though this was for 24 hours. The WiFi in our room was terrible and kept dropping out. The noise from the public untill 11 made it impossible to sleep. Other than this the bed and room were fine and not having to go through the pub was a positive. The young lady who showed us to our room was very helpful.

I went to this pub for a get together with members of my family. Had to pre-order lunch before we arrived, that was unusual. The food arrived as soon I did. I ordered a pot of tea for one at £1.80. When I poured the first cup it was tepid and quite horrible. I spoke with the waitress who immediately offered to put hot water into my cup and gave me a new tea bag. She was great. The chap behind the bar told me it spoils the tea to use boiling water!!! The cup was hot so OK. I then asked for another to make up for not having the pot (2 cups) and got a cup of hot water to put my now cold and used teabag in. The man told me not to bother paying and to go somewhere else as I was obviously not happy with the service. I was going to offer to pay £1 for the cup I enjoyed but after that outburst decided to leave and never go there again.

For £10 we shared a prawn sandwich . The only way to describe it was massively disappointing! 3 bits of brown supermarket bread, not even cut in half, with very few prawns dumped on our table with a few bits of salad on the side. Stayed here for 2 nights to attend a friends wedding in a resort 5 minutes walk up the road. When we arrived it was very busy with people eating in the pub/restaurant and there was no parking. Staff advised they had saved us a space and we moved the cones and got parked. Quickly checked in and shown to our room. The room was spacious and clean. Large bed with 2 single duvets, my only grumble was it was not great sleeping under 2 single duvets on the double bed. We asked staff about getting to the bed behind the hotel and booked a table for dinner bit later, they were really helpful. 20 minute walk up a very steep hill behind the hotel and down a steep cliff path, we were on the most stunning beach, we had a swim! We had the local rump steak and chips for dinner that night and it was delicious. Breakfast both mornings was included and was very nice indeed. Would recommend the food here. We enjoyed our stay here and very good location for attending our friends wedding at Watermouth Cove.
