Rokkon in Hounslow

Very down to earth restaurant run by a Japanese couple. The sushi and sashimi dishes are great, especially the chirashi. Generous portions and fresh. Highly recommended. With plenty of Japanese restaurants in London, many of which are overhyped or not authentic, Rokkon stands out as a special place.

I enjoyed my very authentic experience at Rokkon - good Japanese food is hard come by and these lovely people have nailed it!!

Great quality food! Thoroughly enjoyed this quaint restaurant. Excellent service. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Crab roll was delicious and so was the yellowtail carpaccio.

Being half Japanese myself, I am often disappointed by some of the "Japanese" food on offer in London. However, this place serves real authentic food made fresh by a very friendly Japanese couple. The ingredients were of high quality and fairly priced. Will definitely return.

They pick up the phone and put the receiver next to table and made me wait 5 minutes like stupid. I was hearing the people while I was waiting. Nobody even bothered to pick up the receiver. Cancelled my plan.

Rokkon is a lovely little restaurant in Chiswick to go to if you’re craving fresh and delicious Japanese food. I’ve been several times and was always delighted by the food and service. The fish is incredibly fresh and well prepared and the service is very attentive and polite. It’s a little pricier than most sushi restaurants but the quality is a thousand times better. I’ve had hands down the best sushi outside Japan there! Some recommendations: chirashi is my favourite dish there, but it can get quite salty if you order the one that comes with fish roe. Still delicious though. The chestnut ice cream is a dream and the Yuzu cocktail is very tasty. And don’t miss out on the buttered scallops - a real delight! Please note that it’s a very tiny place, so booking is essential.

The fish is really fresh, delicious, tender and good quality. They chef do the rolls at the moment and the presentation is really good. I feel like I was back to Japan in a sushi place near to Meguro, Tokyo that I love it... Or near to the Tokyo fish market. I will back soon. なにかお飲みになりますか

The service was good and we did not have to wait too long for our food after ordering. We ordered sushi rolls, cold tofu , seaweed , fried chicken , miso soup and marble soda. It is a good place to go to to get a quick snack as we were only there around 20 minutes. If you are a fussy eater/ if you you are not a big fan of salty foods then I do not recommend getting the seaweed. The seaweed was mixed with some vinegar which was on the sour side but gave it a good kick.

I had a lunch meal which I totally recommend: fair and balanced portions with exactly you should expect. I also ordered the most honest maki portion I have ever had in my whole life. The overall experience (the place, the menu, the meal and the personnel) will definitely give you the feeling of eating an authentic cuisine. Probably among the best Japanese restaurant you can find in the British Isles.

The place is tiny and cosy with amazing food, but unless you book you might not get a table because it is tiny - not a problem for me, since the food is great - the dinner set is good value too

Fantastic sashimi in the unlikeliest of places. The quality is seriously tops. Uni was second to none. Ambiance - small, intimate and all about the food experience. Can’t wait to go again

Unpretentious and authentic Japanese restaurant with varied and high quality menu beautifully cooked. .Very small but very friendly and unfussy. A genuine little bit of Japan in London. I highly recommend it.
