Roka Cafe Restaurant in Southwark

An absolute gem of a place! We had the loveliest brunch, the food was 10/10, staff are extremely friendly. We even got a sausage and water bowl for our puppy! A definite recommendation for the Bermondsey locals and anyone visiting.

We visited this place for a late breakfast/lunch and had a lovely time. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived but that quickly changed and the cafe was buzzing. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the decor is very original. Very good location as well and the prices are great! Good value for money here! Now onto the food! We had the Turkish Style Eggs Benedict, a Double Roca Burger, a Cheese and Garlic Sausage toasted baguette and a chocolate muffin. To drink, we had the Strawberry Mocktail, the turkish coffee, a latte and a cappuccino! Food was quite good, the garlic sausage is amazing and the portions were good, ad you can see in the pictures. The coffee was very good! The highlight was definitely the baguette but all other items were very good as well! We recommend this place if you are in the area looking for good value food and amazing coffee! Enjoy!

This cafe advertises for members of the Gourmet Society; 50% off meal price. However, they refuse to honour it. They say that there has to be 2 people dining, but this is not the conditions that they have advertised. The manager says the boss gets angry at them if they accept customers under the advertised deal. This is dishonest. This place is best avoided, as it seems dodgy. They honoured it the first time and then they won't honour it again!

Excellent surprise to find such a lovely family run cafe. The food is very tasty, particularly the Turkish breakfast was excellent

Turkish eggs Benedict was fairly good. I wouldn't put it any more strongly than that.The decor is lovely - very inviting, homey.A pot of tea contains only 1 teabag and 2 small cups of warm (not hot) water. That was a disappointment.Poor service. The door was broken, and did not shut automatically. This resulted in a blast of icy air every time someone went in or out. I think staff bothered to shut the door twice, and once was at my request. The other dozen or so times the door was open, I got up to go shut the door. The dark-haired waitress apologised and was very sweet about it. The fair-haired waitress remained sullen. The staff were aware of the door issue, but seemed content to let me keep getting up and shutting the door, rather than doing it themselves. One of the other customers even commented on it. And no, they weren't busy at the time.Reasonable portions, reasonable prices.They plan on getting the door fixed, which is a relief. I've had pretty good meals there in the past, so I'll go back. Perhaps this visit was just a fluke.

Had to wait 25 mn to place my order and another 35 mn for some very average eggs Benedict. Waitress was extremely rude. Avoid if you're in a rush.

Tuve el desayuno turco y un café. Fue excelente en cada detalle. Sabía muy bien, se veía adorable en el plato, la cantidad era perfecta, no era abrumadoramente enorme, sino generosa. El café también era muy bueno. Precio extremadamente razonable. Volvería en un abrir y cerrar de ojos!

Haben heute traditionell Englisch im Roca Frühstück gegessen, alle Speisen waren ausnahmslos sehr gut. Frischer Orangensaft und sehr guter Kaffee. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, empfehlenswert!

Ne vaut pas la réputation que certains lui font. La nourriture est simple, sans prétention. On trouve bien mieux à quelques pas de là.

Standard breakfast cafe, would benefit from use of better quality proper sausages. Reasonably priced, aside the sausages a tasty breakfast for any time of day!

Great breakfast before work...only thing is they charge more to have a tea to eat with your breakfast then if you where to take it away, other then that, very enjoyable breakfast.

Wir hatte english Breakfast, und ich muss sagen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir waren mit dem Preis zufrieden, der Service war freundlich und gut. Würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Good food, fast service, small and a mixed crowd of people from all backgrounds...nothing pretentious about it but cleaner than your old greasy spoon. Always busy because it's so popular, but quick service. Very good value. You can get good old English breakfast, a veggie breakfast, or a Turkish breakfast. Then there's the Turkish tea and coffee. It's gem of a local cafe and you can't go wrong with it.

This little Café offers cheap and tasty breakfasts even on Sunday. Taste the turkish breakfast which comes with halloumi, garlic sausage and honey!

This Coffee shop offers breakfast, Coffee, smoothies, paninis and a great selection of dinners. The Prices are very very reasonable. Its the only place in the area that offers Turkish Breakfast. It is so good that We were in london for a Week and visited Roca Café everyday!

I have visited this venue often and they always serve an excellent food, staff are really nice. Everyone must like it very much sometimes on a weekend you have to queue outside until a table becomes available.

Trendy Japanese restaurant in Canary Wharf, where all the beautiful people flock to on a Saturday night. The quality of food is extremely high, although personally I would give the tempura dishes a miss. Thankfully there are plenty of other dishes to choose from, sushi, ribs, sea bream, the list is long. Service is very good and given the location and quality, the prices are very reasonable. A great place to go on a Saturday night or any other night for that matter!

I've been to this cafe several times and always enjoyed its cheerful interior, and the well-priced meals there. Roma is responsible for emitting those tasty bacon smells that can be sniffed even on the road behind! Inside the staff are friendly and the service is fast. What's not to like?

Been here a bunch of times for breakfast and lunch. This is not a 5-star-best-ever rating, but rather a 5-star rating for the friendly staff, great prices, all day breakfast, delicious chicken kebab. Locals come here, and come back. The turkish breakfast is delicious!

Great food at a reasonable price! We enjoyed the Mediterranean chicken panini and the pancakes in particular. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Love this place. I only live a few doors down, so is my go-to for breakfast. Great choice of takeaway and such a good price, and then huge sit down breakfast menu too! Not yet had the Turkish breakfast but is ddefinitely want to try.Also come here for takeaway in the evening too. Turkish wraps are delicious! Need to try more on the menu!

Very nice cafe in this quiet residential part of Bermondsey. Staff are friendly and food is good. The new decor is a great improvement and they are now open as a restaurant for dinner. Great for the area.

Booking our table online was very easy with various time slots. Very friendly staff and our waiter took good care of table. The food quality and value is amazing.

I stopped by this morning on my way to work and had a good start of the day. The waiter was very polite and courteous. Great cup of tea, quick service and very good cooked breakfast. And to add up to the experience, the price was more than reasonable. The location is great, the place is clean and neat. I'll come back for sure.

This small, informal restaurant serves excellent Turkish cuisine, including a variety of kebabs and grilled vegetables at extremely reasonable prices. Roka Cafe definitely deserves to be discovered!

We originally visited Roka soon after it opened following a friend's recommendation. We love it and have now been four times.The staff are friendly and the food is excellent (the mezze is particularly fresh) - sometimes with a complimentary starter from the chef thrown in to round things off. We particularly like the informal, homely feel of the place. Overall, there are quite a few places doing Turkish food in the area, and this rates with the very best of them.

last time we went with 8 in a group. The chef is outstanding, ive never seen a chef like this. Ive never seen a better restaurant than this you must go. Very good and fast fooood love it. Make sure you give tip aswell

When in Bermondsey we nearly always go to the Cafe Amisha for a meal as it is such a great restaurant but driving up from Swindon we passed what used to be a tired old cafe but had a fair few people eating and then saw the magic word meze!As a fan of Turkey and their food thoughtwe'll go there insteadWalked down there from our compact and bijou duplex apartment (or as us Bermondsey folk call it -maisonette) on a warm summer's evening smiled at many people who I didn't know just in case I did as I wasn't wearing my glasses and had already had a couple of sherbets earlier at the Bugle horn in Charlton. Was welcomed by the manager/waiter/owner sat down by the window and ordered our meal- stuffed vine leaves/lamb casserole for me and taramasalata/chicken casserole with wonderful bread for him plus special cooked onion slices and salad on the house.Food was lovely as was the wine and the Efes.The restaurant is small the atmosphere is big with quiet Turkish music in the background so no shouting over each other to talkAll this lovely place needs is customers so give it a whirl.

Great service, great value and well cooked Turkish cuisine

This used to be a classic greasy spoon, serving up a decent fry up to the locals and hordes of builders that frequent the area. It recently had a complete refit and now not only serves the normal caff menu during the day but also now opens in the evening and serves very good Turkish food. The menu is simple: a few meze style plates, a few choices of grilled meat and some tempting sides, plus one of two desserts. There is also a simple drinks menu, with a lot of soft drinks (making it good for a wider range of folk). We had their falafels, hummus, halloumi cheese and a mixed (chicken and lamb) shish kebab. Everything was tasty well cooked and good value. The couple that run the place are very friendly and manage the friendly-but-not-cloying balance well. It is great to have some Turkish food available in the area, a cuisine sadly missing from the otherwise brilliant Bermondsey Street. We have already been back and plan to do so again. Highly recommended.
