Lovely tearoom with lots of lovely items on menu. Coffee was fab really strong and proper coffee. Presentation all very nice Staff really efficient and friendly Will definitely return

We are regular visitors to this cozy and high quality tearoom, so just wanted to leave a great review to complement everyone. The menu is varied and comprehensive, everything you want in a tearoom , with the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast my particular favourite, plus the best cinnamon teacakes in the north of england! The staff work their hearts out to provide a warm welcome, and are without fail cheerful, friendly and efficient - what more can you ask for? I can't recommend this tearoom highly enough, and many congratulations to Anastasia, Mirela, Claire and all the team for delivering a high quality experience every single visit. Well done to all!

This is a delightful tearoom - a fabulous menu be it morning, lunchtime or afternoon. A thoroughly lovely setting in the midst of Rodgers of York showrooms. The staff offer a personal and kind welcome to everyone who enters. We are always impressed with their commitment to the customers- this tearoom is a haven to all - but especially to people on their own - staff are fab with them.

We had the afternoon tea and it was absolutely fab - we chose the smoked salmon cream cheese and Wensleydale cheese sandwiches, Victoria sponge and banoffee cake which were all delicious. The scones were lovely as well (made by the equally lovely Clare) especially with a dollop of strawberry jam and clotted cream ☺️ We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try it out, they have a selection of sandwiches, teas, coffees etc on the menu. They were quite busy when we got there (every table was taken) but the staff were all really friendly and got us seated as soon as a table became free 😊

We visited here for lunch whilst shopping in the store The tables are well spaced out very clean and staff are very COVID aware - following all Of the guidelines so we felt comfortable Home made soup was lovely and sandwiches nice and fresh

Called in yesterday to try out this coffe shop and was pleasantly surprised. My flat white was one of the best coffees I've purchased out for a long time and my husband decaf cafetière was really tasty and came with extra hot water to top up. We will definitely by visiting again. We weren't rushed and there was a variety of papers and quality magazines available. Well done Rodgers!

This little tearoom do the best Coronation chicken sandwiches known to man which is why we always make a beeline when we're visiting York. Lovely friendly staff and a chilled relaxing atmosphere.

We like to have lunch here whenever we visit York. The staff is always chatty and friendly and the food, service and attention to detail are all excellent. This time we ate a special from the board........ smoked salmon, sliced avocado and cream cheese on a toasted muffin with a green leaf and tomato salad with peppers and cucumber and a very tasty dressing. Prices are reasonable. Toilets are spotlessly clean. They also make lovely coffee and sell delicious cake.

Had a light lunch here, they offer soup, sandwiches and cakes all home made and very nice. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and the food is very good. We had the sandwich special beef and Stilton very tasty, they also serve coffee that is not just colored water, a brew from Whitby it was that good we bought a back.

I often.come here to meet friends and every time I have visited everything is exceptional. My last visit was to meet friends for cake and coffee and once again I wasn't disappointed. The cakes are superb and this visit the orange cake was on the menu. It was moist, delicious and very tasty. 10 out of 10.again for service and quality.

Hi all, Friday afternoon. The beast from the east was raging across the area and we were on foot. Decided to have a bit of warm food & drink before heading back for the bus home. Ordered our drinks and a Welsh Rarebit also scrambled egg with bacon with toast. The drinks arrived quickly and the food arrived soon after. Cant believe the scrambled egg was served on a very cold plate, (as cold as outside) So no top marks today as usual! This next item is not the tearooms fault but the stores. Another thing; 3, days since the snow fell & the pedestrian footpath from the main road in still had Ice & snow on it. Never been cleared at all. Probably too many able-bodied men in the store trying to keep warm! All in all not a pleasant visit as usual.

What a surprise, I was looking for a new sofa and having traipsed round various shops I ended up in Rodgers, great furniture and a really lovely café, what a relief to sit down, I ordered tea and scones I have not eaten such delicious scones for years proper homemade scones. I have been back since and they were just a good second time.

Getting away from the many chain cafes / restaurants / takeaways in this area (Monks Cross / Vanguard Park) it was good to find a quality coffee shop / tearoom, hidden away in a furniture where we were purchasing a new suite. The coffee was good and strong, just how we like it, but those preferring a less strong cup should know that they supply a small pot of hot water to weaken the strength. There was a decent variety of cakes from which to choose.Although we didn’t have one, we noticed that they do a full afternoon tea / coffee and watching a nearby table take one we reckon it was pretty good value judging by the look of the tiered cake stand loaded with sandwiches and cakes, at way less than half the price charged by many York hotels and high-end restaurants. Friendly, efficient service backed up the quality. There is the Rogers Furniture store Wi-fi available (password needed from staff). There is one toilet each for men and women and they were clean and fresh. Well worth a coffee break or afternoon tea

The is a charming little enclave within the Rodgers' Furniture and Carpet Store. The area is kept spotlessly clean and the personal service given to each customer is of an impeccable standard. A good selection of cakes and savouries are available to order. Car parking facilities are provided on the forecourt of the store.

This is one of our all time favourite tea rooms! We go at least once a week and are never, never disappointed! The food is delicious, toasted tea cakes are to die for and they make a great cup of coffee! The staff are beyond excellent! They are all just so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them! We’ve been so often we’re on first name terms!

We were going shopping to the Monks Cross Centre and Mel at our bed and breakfast said you must have lunch at Rodgers and what a recommendation it was.

This is a great place for a nice quiet tea or coffee, or a high class snack! Very nice surroundings, waitress service, lovely staff - and must mention the loos - immaculate ,

Had a lovely lunch here where we were treated to table service and delicious food. I had a prawn and avocado sandwich in granary with soup of the day. All food is freshly prepared so that they can accommodate requests if you want any alterations making to what's on the menu e.g. no butter in your sandwich. My friend had poached eggs on toast which were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed a cafetière of coffee and a pot of tea with our lunch. The two ladies who served us were lovely and friendly and did a super job over a busy lunchtime.

As regular day trippers to York we always call in here for late afternoon nibbles.

Hi all. Have called in twice over the last couple of weeks. Always busy and you have to wait to be seated, but the table you are shown to is very clean and tidy, also no crumbs on the seats, (attention to detail here) Its waiter service as well so thats another plus.

First time visit to Rodgers Tea Rooms in York and not disappointed. Comfortable tea room with quality furniture, friendly staff, tasty, freshly prepared food, lovely coffee. Good to see chef helping with clearing tables and taking orders (obviously when she isn't busy in the kitchen). Staff seemed genuinely pleased with our positive feedback. I had prawn and smoked salmon salad, other half had scrambled eggs and bacon on chunky granary toast. Capuccino very tasty for me and a strong Americano for hubby. Nice selection of cakes, scones etc. Very good quality in all areas. I would have liked a jacket potato but that wasn't an option on the menu, very happy with my choice though. A bit of the old fashioned service, wait to be seated and orders taken at the table, a welcome change from the 'order at the counter' places. Prices average.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here ,place is spotless and plenty of choice , the staff are friendly helpful and make the visit a joy ...as said by other reviewers its a GEM .

We found the cafe last year just after it opened and what an absolute delight it is- we come regularly and the standard has not dropped one bit. The staff are lovely- they obviously get on as the atmosphere is so good between them and when it's busy they work as a real team.The coffee is one of the best- the tea cakes as written in all the other posts are second to none!

Fell on here quite by chance while shopping down at Monks Cross. We didn't arrive until 3.45pm and the cafe closes at 4pm but we were made to feel very welcome and evrything on the menu was still available.

First visit to the Tea Room and will definitely be back. Good hot coffee and a lovely toasted teacake, that was one of the nicest I've had. Lovely friendly serving staff.

Visited several times since opening the homemade cakes are delicious, fresh scones made daily, very generous serving. My husband thinks the cheesecake is the best ever. Great place for lunch with the girls lovely sandwiches with nice cake to follow.

Whilst shopping in the local area I noticed the sign for the newly opened tearooms and thought I would pop in. I was looking for somewhere for me and my mum to go that was easy accessible as she has limited mobility. The tearooms are based on the ground floor which was great for us.
