It seemed promising from the outside but the food was just okay and the women working the pub/restaurant were not the friendliest. Neither was off putting but just not the warm and friendly vibe we had hoped for. I think this is a better place to watch a sporting event as evident later that night. Hardly anyone eating there but lots of people watching football. Here's the catch, there are really only two places to eat in town and if you did not have reservations at the hotel restaurant, then you basically are stuck here. If you have a choice, choose the hotel restaurant option.

Went here out first night in crainlarach for a couple of drinks and something to eat. Found the staff and locals chatty and friendly. I had the homemade chicken curry and my husband had the burger both were very tasty. In fact the children curry was that good we went back on our second night and we both had it.

Stopped for lunch today, we all had the steak pie and chips, the veg is boiled to death, chips frozen and under cooked and the steak pie I'm guessing was frozen, but if I'm honest I'm not sure. The woman who serve are a bit abrupt to say the least. We had just walked a Munro and the DROVERS INN wasn't serving, so we stopped here, it filled a hole, left half my plate uneaten I wouldn't return

This is a good stopping point if you are travelling to and from the highlands (Glencoe, Fort William, etc.). Don't expect haute cuisine or fancy service, this is a rural village pub, with a simple menu. Find a table, note the table number and order and pay at the bar. We had an evening meal on the way up to Fort William and a lunch on the way back down. Given the location, the number and age profile of the staff, don't expect the service to be ultra quick. Very surprised at some of the negative comments on the service, as this wasn't our experience at all. The staff were all very pleasant and polite.

Awful service . The woman behind the bar was worst . “ Soup of the day” was written on menu but no clue to what it was . “Scotch broth” she replied forcing out the words as if I dared to ask. She was so nippy , it ruined my meal before it started . The “ Scotch broth” was awful , it tasted like it came out of a tin and was lukewarm. I handed it back which didn’t go down well. I got a replacement then another member of staff tried to take my plate before I finished .

The food is 10/10 - homemade, great portions and really delicious. Really reasonably priced. If only the staff were half as good. They give the impression that you being there is an inconvenience. It's not even that they're not overly pleasant - its bordering on rude. We're all from Scotland and were cringing at the way some of the foreign customers were being spoken to. Being nice costs nothing.

Worst pub I have ever been in drunks at bar being loud and bigoted watching football. Then bar maid starts singing provocative songs Then 1 local leaves only to drive away in a car by the reaction of people at bar its what he does every visit.

We visited this pub for lunch today - we had no network coverage so could not check reviews for other restaurants in Crianlarich so decided to take a chance based on the large sign outside advertising 'fish and chips' which was what I fancied. We entered the pub and our first impression was not great as it felt rather dark and dingy but we stayed because we were hungry. My husband had steak pie which he said was average. I ordered the haddock and chips but did not enjoy it at all. I ate the peas, chips and white of the fish but the batter was not nice so I could not eat it - it was far too thick and not cooked properly. I complained to the server - he said it was a one-off but that's not much consolation as I won't be going back!

Went here tonight with our two sons . The menu choices were basic but all tempting . We ordered the children’s turkey dinosaurs and when if we could have veg on the side , there was no hesitation , just a friendly of course :). We had the venison burger and chicken special pasta dish - both hot , large portions and delicious . The staff couldn’t do enough , they were so accommodating and friendly . The chef even gave our boy a highland cow biscuit when we told her he likes them . A very cosy , friendly , local pub but Very reasonably priced and wouldn’t hesitate to return again.

One of the few places open in Crianlarich post lockdown forced us to frequent this dump. Absolutely no atmosphere, knuckle dragging staff were in attendance where a smile or kind word would have cracked their ashen faces. The locals that were holding court and speaking over our heads were presenting a vast array of racist and anti women comments and views that these little isolated villages often contain. On a plus side the food was edible but remember this little ditty. " The rod and reel, only if you are feel." We will not be returning and hopefully this aberration goes bust quite soon.

Food is amazing, very reasonably priced. Highlights are the chicken curry and a gigantic fish & chips. Service excellent.Just a slight note over covid measures in the current climate. While signage is visible and alcohol gel plentiful, you needed to be quite proactive to get your details included in the register for track/trace. Perhaps all staff members are exempt but face coverings are not evident by staff. Generally customers haven’t embraced wearing of face masks while moving around or entering prior to rules being changed next Monday. Probably the most relaxed place we’ve visited in the whole of Scotland in 2 weeks.

There are not many options to eat in the village, and after a long drive up to Scotland we were happy to find somewhere that was serving food.I opted for the venison burger, which was pretty dry and did not have a lot of flavour, thankfully it came with a pot of relish so I could address both issues. The accompanying chips were a little undercooked, so I couldn't finish them, but overall the meal was warm and filling.

Outside is clean and with several new tables it looks good, but that drops thereafter. At first I did not know who of the few people milling about were staff or if any were customers. At 1pm on a Saturday the bar taps were unlit, the real ale not available as "out of season for them to stock", so unsure of what was on offer. Settled for Caledonian Best and glass of wine, a soup and a toastie. Staff firstly couldn't remember what the soup was (Tomato and basil) and the haggis toastie was recommended to have it with cheese. The tomato soup had taste of chorizo and the toastie was soggy and the filling warm near edges but stone cold at centre. The side salad however was fresh. I will leave the last word to the bar staff who was being complimented on the new Guinness array of taps..."you'll notice that they came with mobile phone charging slots but I've taped them up as I don't want customers sitting at my bar charging their phones"...

Me and my family regularly (twice a month) used to always stop off here after a day out to Oban and Fort William areas because it was good value for money and the staff were always friendly. The interior was abit basic and the toilets too but that at that time didnt put us off. So after a 5 year break with going to other places we thought we'd pay our old regular a visit. What a shock to see the place still in the same way it was all that time ago (it was stuck in a time warp). The prices for the food had gone way up even though we looked on the website before leaving and the menu prices hadn't been updated for the past few years. That's why it was a shock when we got there so the website is misleading. It hadn't had a lick of paint and still the basic way it had been before and the toilets were disgusting one up from going behind a bush. The staff were rough and unfriendly even though it was the same staff from years ago. Would not recommend this place anymore to anyone seriously and wouldn't want people wasting their money and their time going here. We know what its like from the good the bad and now the ugly.

Stopped for a spot of lunch and a couple of beers. Great selection of beer, a nice sauvignon blanc and good honest pub grub. The cheese and ham toasty was delicious and the fish and chips were fresh and well cooked. Great stop on the west highland way with friendly staff and an excellent beer garden

My wife and I had a meal and a drink on our way to Oban. I had haddock, chips and peas my wife had salmon fillet, carrots, and potatoes. The sauce for each dish was appropriate and spot on.

I had the chicken and sweetcorn soup and the steak pie. Both were very good. If you're lokking for honest pub food, go here, if you're looking for a cosy historical pub, don't.

We stopped here on our way to Aberfeldy after a quick google search looking for somewhere for lunch...so glad we did!! I opted for a cheese and onion toastie with a side of chips and my partner fish and chips...couldn’t believe the size of the fish! Food was lovely and the staff were friendly (especially the barman who was laughing at my pronunciation of Schillaeon lager!) would visit again!

What a shame. We were staying in a B & B just down the road and wanted an evening meal. The steak pie was good but sadly the whole place lacked atmosphere. The decor was bland and the staff just weren't interested.

Good pub grub served here, large portions to suit the West Highland Way walkers. Good rang of drinks with one hand pump for 'real ale'. Friendly efficient service.

Went here for dinner on good Friday, girlfriend had the home made curry, it’s was delicious, I had venison burger, ended up dipping it in her curry! It was really good, filled by the sticky toffee pudding, really nice with custard.

Visited with my husband recently after receiving a hotel, spa and afternoon tea voucher for my 50th birthday. My husband suffers from a severe seafood/fish allergy and carries an epipen after being hospitalised in the past. This was explained to the staff who said that this "was a standard request and would not be an issue" After waiting over 30 minutes with no sign of our afternoon tea I asked a member of staff if there was any sign of our food and were told that our server that forgotten to order our afternoon and did we want to wait! I explained that we had received a gift voucher so we would have no choice but to wait. After another 15 minute wait our afternoon tea arrived. My husband who was starving by this point was just about to tuck into the savories when I detected a smell of fish. It transpired that there were 2 salmon tartlets which were also touching the sandwiches. I immediately removed them from the plate and took them to the server who confirmed that these were indeed salmon! What point of a seafood/fish allergy do they not get. I immediately asked to see the manager and he agreed that this was completely unacceptable. I did feel that some of the staff did not appreciate how serious this could have become if my husband had eaten one of these tartlets. We did not eat any of the afternoon tea after this as we simply could not take any chances. A refund was given but this definitely did put a dampner on what should have been a lovely birthday treat.

Tasty and generous meals in a comfortable, traditional setting. Friendly staff and seemed to be well used by the local community.

Stayed for an overnight on the way back to Glasgow. The evening before we were told there were grilled sandwiches available all day. Returning for breakfast at 9.15am we were then told that only coffee was available. We purchased this £3 for a cold coffee from a flask with a disgusting spoon that had clearly been sitting for hours. When I asked for a clean one and commented I was told I could get my money back in a very aggressive manner. Knowing that there was nothing else in the area I felt very intimidated as I was with a group of females the man clearly had an issue. Then going for a shower to experience faeces up the walls on the main floor and toilets that couldn’t be used. I would not recommend!! The staff on the previous evening were great and having been many times before with other friends and family. This place has clearly been taken over and went right down hill!! If you want a relaxing break away AVOID !! Many other amazing places in the area that accommodate a lot better. Definitely not recommended for females only.
