The fish and chips were good. The fries were perhaps a bit under-seasoned. But it’s a great spot to enjoy classic fish and chips in London.

A wonderful, fresh and crispy cod meal with excellent service by Ms. Lola who was truly kind and friendly! All family had a great meal!

I ordered the large cod and it was exquisite! The batter was light and crispy, the chips were properly salted and i also had the calamari which was a delight. The only thing which was a bit disappointing was prawn and garlic twist. But all in all the seafood was very fresh and tasty. Would definitely visit again

the food was amazing and the service was good. loved the cod and sticky toffee pudding. but they add a 12% service charge on top of the already inflated price. the take out menu has the cod at 13£ the dine in menu has it at 20£ so we thought the service charge was already incorporated into the price. this was not the case and another 12% charge was added on top of our bill making it come out to 60£ for just 2 cods a large water and a sticky toffee pudding. incredibly expensive for what it was. had i known this would happen, i would have just ordered take out.

The fish and chips are quite delicious. The waiter Sushant is very enthusiastic. The rock is not only harder, but also has a stronger flavor. The smell of fish oil will come out of the nose after eating.

Even the regular size was quite filling for one person, and I don't think it would be possible for a woman to eat it, but both the white meat and potatoes were piping hot and delicious. Although it wasn't on the menu, the lager was half-sized. The staff greeted me with a smile even though I was a bit hesitant with my unfamiliar English, and I was able to spend a wonderful time.

For what you eat in London we say acceptable, high cost, tasteless fish. Excellent cleaning service

Established in 1871, The Rock and Sole Plaice is the oldest chippy (and most outrageous pun) in London. Our expectations were sufficiently high that we walked there in the rain from the British Museum. A table was available, no doubt because it was situated in front of the open door, and service was polite but perfunctory. There is a variety of fish, and cod was recommended—all of which are fried in peanut oil, the high smoke point allowing for a crisper batter. The oil can leave a subtle aftertaste, however, and I would have preferred a more neutral one. I’m not certain, in fact, but that fish and chips, when accompanied by several pints of cast-conditioned ale, are just as good (if not better) at a pub such as The Salisbury or The Eagle in Cambridge.

Really centrally located to many things in London, we stopped by here to try the famous fish and chips. Came here at 4:30 pm, not so busy and we were able to find a table for two right away. We wanted to try the Cod Fish and Chips but they didn't have Cod at the time so we got Haddock. We also wanted to try the Northern Style Sides which was Curry Sauce and Mushy Peas. Didn't take too much time for the food to arrive. The portion was really nice. The taste was even better. This is one of the better Fish and Chips I've had in London! Would recommend this restaurant!

Nice food but massively overpriced. The place isn't anything special, neither is the food. A huge service charge was added and we were then asked if we would like any change? I can only assume that the staff don't get the service charge since they were so eager for more money. Given the level of service and lack of emotion on their behalf I imagine they won't make much in tips.

A historic restaurant whose specialty is fish and chips. We ate outside (the inside wasn't very appealing), on the heated terrace on the corner, with a very good atmosphere between Covent Garden and Soho. The service was very pleasant. There is a wide choice of different fish and different preparations. The fish are very good, although they could be spicier for my taste. The fries aren't exceptional either. Fairly high price for fish and chips, but it's still a good place to immerse yourself in the London atmosphere.

I have never been to something so special, the beer was exceptionally good, the fish and chips I have no words to describe how good it was, it really deserves the award of the best fish and chips in ALL OF GREAT BRITAIN, the dessert at kind of good

A little expensive at £25 for cod and chips but the food was excellent and the service was also excellent. We waited for 10mins to be seated and then 20 mins for service but it was great quality and worth the wait and cost.

It’s delicious even when taken out! The batter is crispy and the fish is soft, and if you mix it with vinegar and salt and drink it with beer, it’s delicious! The large French fries are also delicious!!

A traditional and delicious Fish N Chips stall. Nice atmosphere and also nice and quick waiters. However, I found it a bit too expensive. If you don't care about money, then it is absolutely recommended. Savvy hunters or Swabians should avoid the store.

Amazing meal! For my part, I took the Calamari which was just exquisite and my husband who hates squid found it very good! I recommend!

Went there based on hype on instagram and Google reviews. The food is overpriced (25 pounds for fish and chips!) and the fish and chips are oily, not crisp and definitely not tasty. The Golden Chippy in Greenwich is significantly cheaper and really really good in comparison. What I did like was the steak and ale pie. Would I go back? No.

In over 60 years of eating fish and chips this plaice really stands out. The fish and chips were both perfect. It is on the pricey side (£20 for a regular haddock and chips) but then you are eating in Covent Garden. Would I come here again? Like a shot.

To try the fish and chips is good. We ordered the cod and it was good, although bland. The potatoes were delicious. We ate inside and came out with quite a fried smell on our clothes.

Fish & Chips restaurant, traditional food of English workers. Small place with clarity and views of the street. Large Terrace. They serve different 🐟 types of battered fish with fried 🍟 potatoes, cod, sole, etc. Good Cod Goujons, Lemon 🍋 Sole, and Plaice. There are 🐔 Homemade Chicken Goujons for the kids. The fried potatoes are not very successful. Correct service. Public tourists and some locals.

My fiancée and I came there by chance. We were looking for an authentic British restaurant with authentic British food such as fish and chips. When we sat down, the extremely friendly and courteous employee came straight away. This fish is one of the best fish dishes we have ever had. And the “Camden Pale Ale” went perfectly with it. Very nice service and ambience, you felt very comfortable. For me the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, it was simply delicious, I had cod with normal fries, both highly recommended. The onion rings, which I also had, were excellent.

We came to the restaurant on the recommendation of a travel blogger. A restaurant specializing in "fish & chips". They are distinguished by a very large selection of fish species. The restaurant is very popular, so it is better to make a reservation. We ordered cod loin and skate (we couldn't find the Polish name). Plus fries and crushed peas. Very large portions. The food was good, comparable to other restaurants, including local ones away from the center. Quite expensive.

We got to this place through a recommendation and we were not disappointed! We made a reservation because the first time we were walking by and they said we would wait about 30min, so definitely recommend making a reservation. The price is a bit higher than other fish and chips places but the portions are hugee, you can pick between small and large, definitely get the smaller one. It says they are the oldest and best fish&chips and I believe them! Only thing I can say bothered me was the staff, although they were very friendly they just didn't know how to handle a big crowd and everything was just so full of tension. Definitely worth it

It did not fail all the amazing reviews I read and truly way and beyond my expectations. I took my disabled sister with me and they really showed care and made sure she had a great spot to put her wheelchair. Aaaaaamzing tasty traditional fish and chip. Will go back again

I give 4 stars only because it was bland (however, there was salt on the table so it could easily have been added). For the rest, good fish and very good frying. The potatoes were also very good. The price is high (£21 for fish and chips) but London is expensive, you know. Many recommend booking, but I went around 1.30pm on a Saturday and didn't wait even 5 minutes.

For the food and staff I would like to give it a 6 scene. Easy to reach from the China Quarter by strolling through narrow streets. Large portions. It was worth it.

This restaurant is famous for its fish and chips cuisine in London downtown and does not make me disappointed.

I would say it is an evolved version of the classic fish and chips. We ordered the traditional one with Cod. At your point. Delicious. And the chips are thick, freshly prepared. The restaurant has 3 areas. Interior kitchen side: noise and smell of food, Interior drinks bar side: it is the best. and outdoor terrace: uneven floor, uneven tables. But for your food, it doesn't matter where you sit.

London's oldest fish and chips shop, this is a little gem hidden away in central London. One of the few places one can still get both skate and cod roe.

Both the fish and chips and the chicken are very good, but I can say that the gravy sauce is especially excellent. You only go for gravy. The sausage is average, the potatoes are at fish&chips standard, and the chicken and fish are above standard. But, I didn't like the attitude of 1 staff member at all. When I couldn't hear what a person at the table was saying, I turned to the person next to him and asked "what is he saying?" It is not said. It's a shame, you can ask again or say you didn't hear it, such impatience, rudeness and disrespect is not nice at all, it was just one waiter who did this. If he reads it, he should know that I will give it one star just for him.

The best fish and chips in town!! The pan excellent, hearty portion and very high quality everything we got. For the end I left the excellent service of Lola who put us where we asked and guided us with the menu. Congratulations keep it up!!!

I was very disappointed. Payed for cod fish for takeaway and was given a different type of fish. This is unbelievable, not only considering I want what I ordered but cod is not the cheapest on the menu. Do not recommend going here.
