Robin Hood in Cambridge

We chose the pub as it allows overnight stays for Camper Vans. We had an early flight from Stansted and the location was ideal, near to our relatives. We were impressed by the car park area and got a quiet, fairly private space. On announcing our arrival, the manager was welcoming and took our details. We had our evening meal and it was really tasty. Lovely Katsu Chicken with loads of sauce, along with rice AND chips. My wife enjoyed her beyond burger. We had a coffee and dolcetti mini dessert for afters. Perfect as we were pretty full from the main course. The staff are all very attentive and friendly, especially Max who looked after our table.

Good food,has improved alot since last visit

Food sadly was awful. The salt and pepper squid starter was flavourless and oily. The rainbow salad with salmon was inedible - the salmon was literally oozing oil, I even mopped it up on the napkin but could not eat it. The salad had no chargrilled peppers, onions or beetroot (as advertised), instead it was simply lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. A shame as the menu sounds so delicious but a real disappointment. We won’t be back. Probably best just to have a drink and avoid the food. 20% discount was automatically applied to the salmon dish (£3.30), which was an unexpected and welcome surprise. However for the quality it really shouldn’t be charged at all. Service was friendly and no complaints. The pub is a nice size and cosy restaurant. They really need to hire better chefs. A simple salad and calamari really isn’t rocket science to achieve to a decent standard - especially for such a big brand like Greene King

Stopped here on our way to the coast and we were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout the visit and the service was quick. We decided to do the 2 course lunch menu which was great value for money. The starters we had were chicken goujons which were hot and a good portion size and crispy squid which was also hot and tasted lovely. The mains were burgers, chicken burgers and the mini grill, all of which were hot and great value for money. The desserts of chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee and bourbon pudding were both amazing and again a good portion size. Overall the pub was clean and the atmosphere was nice. We would definitely visit again if passing that way.

We had pre-booked for lunchtime and found a busy yet homely place. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive and obviously loved what she was doing - a real professional! The food was of excellent quality for the venue and the prices were what you would expect. The man in charge obviously runs a tight ship but a happy one - it had a great atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Very attentive staff and tasty food - we stopped for fish and chips and were not disappointed. Very tasty and quick . The you g girl serving us was lovely.

Gran noche aquí y útil para aquellos, como nosotros, que se alojan en Cherry Hinton Caravan y Motorhome Club Site. Buenas cervezas y vino. Buena calidad pub grub y excelente y atento servicio de nuestro camarero Max!

Max was amazing, the food was horrendous, the server was great, chefs have a horrible attitude about them, didn’t care food was cold and inedible, DO NOT EAT FULL MEALS HERE!!

I wasn't overly impressed with the Sunday Roast. The pork loin was lovely, but the potatoes weren't that roasted and everything else could have done with a few more minutes on the hob. However, the service was fantastic. Our server was Max, and he made sure we had everything we needed promptly.

BEWARE, we have just had to pay £300 parking fee even though we had consumed drink and food at this pub. The reason - apparently you have to register your car. We had proof that we were patrons but still we have been charged a parking fee. I cant tell you how furious I am. This is just legalise robbery - I have never been to any pub or restaurant in my 50 years that you needed to register your car. Neither have I been pursued even when showing receipts for the money spent at this pub. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN IT AGAIN AND WOULD ADVISE ANYONE ELSE TO DO THE SAME. GREENE KING and the MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

We had a table booked on a Saturday at 19:30. We arrived at 19:40, and there was a 5 minute wait. We were served by Keshyia. She was friendly, and gave us helpful tips for the 2 for 1 spirits. We had one ribeye abd abd 1 t-bone steak; though we asked for rare, the steak was more of medium to rare. The chicken burger and fish was good. The ambience was fantastic. This is by far the best pub in Cherry Hinton locality. Good selection of beers. Kitchen closes at 9 pm onwards. Best to have a reservation over the weekend evenings.

The food was underwhelming to be honest The mixed grill was my choice, The chicken breast was really dry, the egg was undercooked Our other guest meals were good Beef and ale pie Salmon Will visit again to try other selections

Been here many times and always had a great meal, plenty of food, good price. Well recommend.

Went their for Sunday roast. I got beef it was a generous amount and the yourshire pudding is big and lovely. My only problem was, was the veg. I had 3 roast potatoes which were tiny and wouldn't have eben been one potato in whole. I got one sliver of carrot and one florets of broccoli which I had to use a knife to cut then had to get a steak knife to cut it as it was so hard. This is where I normally go for a roast if I'm eating out but very minimal. I would normally go out about 1 or 2 but this was 4pm so maybe they were running out of veg but if so they shouldn't be charging the same

The manager let me stay overnight in my campervan. I had a couple of drinks and some food and every single member of staff I conversed with could not have been better. Smiley, attentive, patient, quick service. And it was Easter Weekend busy. Overall, just great service. Thank you and your team 👍

My friend and came for lunch today we chose the set menu £12.99. We chose The Salmon and for dessert Icecream. I chose The fish and chips and for dessert Crumble. We both agreed the lunche' s were excellent. We were served by Nikki whose was quick and attentive. We both agreed we would certainly be coming back. If I have one criticism we found sitting in the atrium very hot as the radiator 's were on and it was a hot day. As soon as we remarked this to Nikki she moved us to a cooler table. So it was an enjoyable lunch. Thanks.

I had a dinner last Friday with my male friend. The waitress service style was very disappointing. After we finished our meal, she came to our table. To my shock, she only talked to my male friend during the entire time asking him how his meal was and jokingly saying that she might join for a drink etc. However she did not ask me how my meal was and completely ignored me. She did not even look at me. As a highly hospitality professional and believer of equal relationships, I found this behaviour unacceptable. I strongly suggest training your staff. Thanks!

Best grilled salmon salad I have ever had. It was even better than the picture on the menu. A delicious healthy option. I will definitely be coming back for another.

We were served by the very friendly Keshyia for an early evening Mother's Day meal; all the food arrived together in good time, great portion sizes and tasted really good. Drinks were served quickly, as were the desserts too. A very enjoyable and comfortable meal out.

Extremely negative place for anyone that is not white. We were at the bar waiting 15 minutes to get served, everyone else was served first and even the people that arrived later at the bar was served before us. Although I feel they must not be discriminating on purpose but it certainly feels like it. Or the staff is just ill trained. Additionally, we were outside drinking in the beer garden, after the long wait, and one of us wanted to get some food after seeing others eating in the beer garden. The employee said you can’t eat outside……. Once again, it may not be on purpose but it certainly feels like it. Absolutely terrible service, will not be visiting again.

One of the people working there was in the loo at the same time with me and walked out of the booth without washing her hands. Off she went to serve food with her toilet hands. Nasty. Pls have some sort of hygiene education for your staff.

Got our order wrong, took ages to arrive after ordering. Still unsure how a chicken breast can be tough and hard!! Also difference between chips and fries!!

Everything was perfect and delicious, specially meat, our server Daria was very nice ,she provided us with great recommendations and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for our experience truly elevated our time at the restaurant.I highly recommend this place, and I hope to be served by her again in the future!

Great experience. Came here today with my family - sat outside, garden available. Sunny weather. Andru was great, very friendly and always checking in with us to make sure everything was running smoothly. Can imagine this place would be perfect come summertime.

Really great range of food on the menu. Something for everyone. The food was freshly prepared and generously portioned. Service was that right blend of timing so food arrived in time to enjoy the starter, rest and await the main. The sizzling fajitas were excellent as were the kofta squewers. Our server, Emma, was excellent showing good attention with a sense of humour and purpose. Very good experience overall. Would recommend as I am sure the full restaurant on our visit would agree. Make sure you book.

We had a great meal on Saturday for my eldest son's birthday get together meal. Our food was excellent and, myself, parents and both of my son's all had great time! We've been going here for several years and mostly have had great food. Yes, there has been difficult times for them in the past when they have been extremely busy. You're always going to read certain comments about how bad things were. However, give this place a chance! All the best, Graham.

Can't fault the Robin Hood,have been a few times and it has always been brilliant,good food and fabulous service. The staff there are always lovely,this time we were served by keshyia not sure if that's how you spell it but so friendly and polite.

Max was very attentive and was very good at his job ! 5 star employee..

Grim. We both ordered 3 cheese & chutney ciabatta, couldn't find any cheese in either. I suspect they put processed cheese slices that disintegrate in the microwave. There were no available staff to complain too & we were in a hurry. Shame really because the bread & salad were ok.

Had a quick dinner as staying at a nearby motorhome site. Emma our waitress was super helpful and informative. We ordered off their special menu and had a salmon salad and a veggie burger plus 2 drinks for £20. Not expecting much for the money I was pleasantly surprised when the two meals arrived and there was plenty of food and 2 decent drinks too. Fantastic value for money and tasty.

The best Green King food we've had. I had fajitas and my husband had the mixed grill with the larger steak which he said was cooked beautifully. Pub food is what it is, but this was really nice. Would definitely come back when we're in the area. Thank you for your hospitality.

Family meal at the weekend to celebrate some good news, easily accessible with good parking- it was busy so best book, staff very friendly and the food was hot and nice ,- we had the honey burger which was lovely

The food is not the best but the environment is great to have a good moment on family and friends. Max was serving our table and he is very kind. Despite the food, we can return there easily.

I had my Birthday last night at your Pub with my family a complete surprise event . Your staff Member is a credit to your establishment kind considerate .and also last year which was traumatic for me my partner took me out for my first meal and Max served us he was so kind understanding that day to really lifted my spirits thankyou again Robin hood excellent service and venue

Food cold, burnt and cooked in old oil. How can frozen peas turn up cold and hard?? Chips cold, plates cold The only decent thing was the tartare sauce out of a jar! We will never go back Unedible food, waitress tried her best. We will never return!

Came here randomly on 14th Feb with my two daughters, after an appointment at Addenbrookes as not from around here, but staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Food was great, facilities clean and such a vibey pub with great decor too. Good parking area also considering its position. Will definitely come back when in the area again. Highly recommended!

We love this pub, this has been our go-to place since we moved to Cambridge. The Chicken Katsu Curry is our favourite, but tend to enjoy everything we try. The servers are all lovely, our little one really enjoys interacting with Nikki, because she always gets a wave or smile back. The photo doesn't give the food justice, it looks much better in reality.

Had a lovely meal at the Robin Hood today, Emma was lovely and smiling as we walked in and looked after us and anything we needed! Highly recommend for food and service with a happy smile!

Had dinner with a friend, check the menu against the real serving dish. The grilled chicken is so dry and not fresh like a left over, the fried chicken was like re-fried, the corn cob- soaked, there is no rocket salad instead replaced by crest leaves well cooked/very soggy, the presentation - seems the cook was in a very bad mood. The server was polite, and the manager offered a discount. The thing is we went there to eat a decent food not for a discount. He offered to replaced a different one, but having made a complaint made you think, how the cook will treat our new order?

Called and booked a table for 8 just before lunch and it was available. Staff friendly, food very good and the place is nice and clean. Regular visitor.

Went here as we had travelled quite far for a hospital appointment and this was about 10 minutes drive from the hospital, and what a pleasant surprise, the pub inside is lovely our server Max was great, friendly and attentive! The food was amazing and great value for money! Will definitely visit again!

Whilst it has been a few years since my last visit, the quality of service still remains. The food was well cooked and presented with lots of choices on the menu. Staff (max) was very attentive. Blue light card holders do get a discount but do check out terms and conditions as on some occasions it is not accepted I.e bank holidays

Having decided on an impromptu lunch we both chose the 3 course meal deal which was really good value. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Decided to come to the Robin hood at the last minuet. Got a very pleasant greeting from Chloe who showed us to our table. A nice window seat with a red hot radiator. A very pleasant and friendly waitress Keshyia took our order. The food wad delicious as usual and service met expectations, look forward to coming again.

We had a very disappointing meal here tonight. The food took ages to arrive and was barely warm when it did. Starter of cold king prawns, with cold parsley butter. My husband ordered a rare sirloin steak, which arrived cold and well done. He did not eat it. I had a gluten free chicken skewer, which was also over done and barely warm. I chose rice, which came dry - without the yogurt sauce, but included a hair. Would not recommend. The front of house staff were lovely though.

Had a great meal, had the sirloin steak and strawberry cheesecake…beautifully cooked. Along with the great meal the service by Chloe was tops. She made us very welcome and will certainly visit again.

My wife and I had a lovely meal at the Robin Hood at Cherry Hinton. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Darcia was brilliant. Very friendly and made our visit very enjoyable.

What a cosy pub! I came here for a new years drink with my family and had often passed by and decided to pop in for a drink to celebrate with my family- cosy, warm and very friendly!! The bar was so nice and a good selection of drinks. Will be back!

Took my partner and her mum who has only just moved here for for her first ever Sunday roast a couple of weeks back. The food was really good for a chain's standard and we were very well looked after by Sofia despite her knee being in a brace! Considering you get what you pay for this is great value for money. (Apologies for almost setting off the alarm by trying to leave to the garden through a wrong door!)
